혼합반응 차수재의 투수특성 연구 (The Permeability Characteristics of the Reactive Soil - Bentonite Landfill Liner)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate permeability characteristic of soil-bentonite landfill liner and development of desirable liner system. In this study, permeability tests for soil-bentonite, reactive soil-bentonite and apply bentomat and reactive mat are carried out under the low and high water pressure. According to test result, additional amount of bentonite decreases the coefficient of permeability up to the bentonite mixture ratio of 15%. Therefore, the permeability test for landfill liner's indicated that the use of general water would be in more safe side because the liner system show low permeability duet decrease effect of porous by suspended soild(SS). The permeability of leachate for Zeolite mixture ratio 0, 5, 10% with bentonite mixture ratio 15% showed negligible variation in the permeability with general water. Therefore, Zeolite could be used as a successful that is available purification material for the treatment of leachate, without changing the of landfill liners. Also odious smell could be removed by adding smell amount of Zeolite to the leachate. It was revealed that the bentomat and reactive mat installed in soil-bentonite layer effectively improved the permeability as well as purification of the leachate.

금산지역 토양별 화학적 특성과 주요 용존성분

  • This study is for know chemistry of the representative soils from Keumsan, its relationships with dissolved compositions, and its absorption relationships within the flora. It has been done for two comparisons: 1) phyllite, shale and granite(PSG), and 2) granite and coal bearing shale(GC). Among the soil leachate of the PSG, cations are mainly low in the phyllite area while anions are mainly low in the granite area. In the soil compositions, Ca and Mg of the beans are high and Na is high in the granite area while Ca and Na of the perilla are high in the granite area and Mg is high in the phyllite area. In th both species, Na for the granite area and Mg for the phyllite area are high while Ca for the shale area is low. Among the flora, shale area shows low Ca and Mg contents while granite area shows slightly high Na contents, regardless the species. Compared with beans, perilla is low in the Mg and high in the Na contents. These relationships show that the contents of the soil leachate do not reflect absorption within the flora. Among the soil leachate of the GC, shale area is high in the most of the elements. Especially, SO$_4$ is over 15 times high In the phyllite area. In the soil, granite area shows high Ca, Na and low Mg contents. In the flora, the Miscanthus sinensis shows high Ca and Mg contents in the granite area while the Artemisia vulgaris shows high Ca, Ca and Mg contents in the shale area. These relationships for contents of the flora and soil leachate suggest that the flora has a different absorption according different species.

부정류 상태에서의 난지도 매립지 침출수 거동 예측 (The Behavior of Leachate on The Transient Condition in The Nanji Waste Landfill)

  • 본 연구는 난지도 매립지에서 기반암 및 풍화대층을 통해서 거동하는 침출수의 속도와 침출수량을 부정류 상태에서 예측하기 위해 실시되었다. 본 연구에서는 3차원 지하수 거동 모델인 MODFLOW와 지하수에 용해되어 있는 오염물질의 확산, 분산, 화학반응 등을 해석할 수 있는 MT3D를 이용하여 안정화 공사 이후 부정류 상태에서 침출수 거동을 해석하였다. 침출수 발생량은 최근 10년간의 기상자료를 이용해서 HELP모델로 산출하였다. 침출수 거동은 차수벽, 차수층 설치 전,후의 침출수위 변화에 의해 예측되었다.

  • Open dump causes groundwater and soil contamination by leachate, air pollution by LFG (Landfill Gas). In this paper, in order to improve landfill researches which have been done about reduction of high leachate level and LFG collection in the Kimpo landfill separately, the effect of simultaneous flowing of leachate and LFG has been Studied. The HYLGS (Hanyang Leachate Gas Simulator) used in this study is a 3D, 2-phase, transient FDM model which can be applied to venting trenches in a landfill. From present numerical analysis it can be concluded that all the pressures of the Kimpo landfill grid system are almost the same and their maximum value in the center grid block of the system is approximately 26 m $H_2O$ (2.52 atm), that because the pressures of venting trench layer situated in the middle of the landfill have the lowest values and equal with air pressure, the venting trenches play an important role in landfill stabilization, that the flow of gas will be more difficult as time goes by owing to the increase of LGR(Leachate and gas ratio).

오염지역 차폐용 슬러리월 재료와 침출수의 반응 특성 (The Compatibility of Slurry Wall Materials with Leachate for Cut -off of Contaminated Sites)

  • 본 논문은 오염지역 또는 폐기물 매립지의 오염 차단용으로 사용될 수 있는 연직차폐기술을 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 슬러리월 재료에 대한 투수 및 화학반응실험을 통하여 적절한 배합비를 갖은 흙-벤토나이트, 시멘트-벤토나이트, 시멘트l플라이애쉬-벤토나이트, 플라스틱 콘크리트 혼합재료를 제시하였다. 벤토나이트 슬러리의 침출수 반응성 실험결과, 화학물질의 영향에 의하여 벤토나이트 슬러리가 국부적으로 응집이 이루어지고, 슬러리 현탁액이 제대로 형성되지 않는 현상이 발생하였다. 뒤채움재의 투수시험 결과, 시멘트-벤토나이트. 플라스틱 콘크리트, 흙-벤토나이트 순으로 투수 계수가 작게 나타났으며, 침출수와의 반응실험결과, 투수성은 약간 증가하는 것으로 나타났으나 큰 영향은 없는 것으로 나타났다.

  • To identify the effect of landfill waste for groundwater and unsaturated air environment, soil gas survey and hydrogeochemical study were executed. The geology of the study area is granite and aquifer is mainly composed of sandy soil. The results of spatial distribution from soil gas showed the boundary of buried waste and processes and degree of waste decomposition. Groundwater contamination by leachate from landfill is controlled by groundwater flow attributed by the original topography and liner.

매립장의 복토재와 폐기물 수리특성에 대한 침출수위의 민감도 분석 (Sensitivity Analysis of the Leachate Level of a Landfill to Hydraulic Properties of Cover Soil and Waste)

  • 본 논문에는 매립장의 높은 침출수위를 저감시키기 위한 복토재의 기능을 분석하기 위하여 매립장의 침출수지 분석 프로그램인 HELP를 이용 복토재 및 폐기물의 수리특성인 간극률, 투수계수, 포장용수량, 위조계수, 초기함수비에 대한 침출수위의 민감도를 분석하고 흙복토재의 다짐에의한 밀도-투수계수-포장용수량의 변화, 현장 초기함수비와 포장용수량의 차가 누적 침출수위 형성에 미치는 영향을 시험 및 수치해석을 통하여 분석하였다. 민감도 해석결과 복토재와 폐기물 모두 간극률과 위조계수의 증가는 침출수위를 감소시키며 포장용수량과 투수계수의 증가는 침출수위를 증가시키는 것으로 나타났으며 침출수위에 영향을 크게 미치는 인자는 복토재의 경우 투수계수, 페기물의 경우는 간극률, 포장용수량, 초기함수비인 것으로 나타났다.

시험 가축 매몰지 토양 및 침출수 내에서의 구제역 바이러스 검출 (Detection of foot-and-mouth disease virus and coxsakievirus in the soil and leachate of modeled carcass burial site)

  • Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is highly infectious disease of cloven-hoofed animals, particularly cattle, sheep, pigs and goats. Last outbreak reported in November, 2010 induced the enormous social and economical impacts. Culling of infected animals, movement control, and vaccination are the major control measures of FMD. The aim of this study was to detection foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) in the soil and leachate from modeling burial for pig carcass as measured by real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). FMDV and Coxsakievirus B1 (CVB1) were detected in soil by week 16 and Coxsakievirus B1 (CVB1) by weeks 12, respectively. FMDV and CVB1 also detected by weeks 8 in the leachate. Results from this study provides an evidence that FMDV could be inactivated for safe of pig carcasses infected with FMDV within 4 month in the carcass burial site.

  • In this paper, the role of intermediate cover soils with respect to the leachate and gas flow is investigated from various field investigations and the hydraulic conductivity of the disposed waste is obtained using pumping and slug tests. From the results of field investigations, it was found that the flow of leachate and gas is prevented by the buried cover soils. The hydraulic conductivities of field pumping test and slug tests are well matched and stayed in the range of hydraulic conductivities of well compacted wastes in the literature.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the performance of soil-cement walls (SCWs) to control leachate from a leaking landfill site. Tracer tests revealed that the SCW was effective to control groundwater seepage. Approximately two-months of curing period appeared to be sufficient to ensure thorough containment of landfill leachate, although a three-week period was not enough. The water quality of the monitoring wells after construction of the SCWs met the groundwater quality standard of the korean Waste Management Act, except for bacteria and coliform groups. Also an analysis of a spring water around the landfill showed that the concentrations of ammonia, inorganic nitrogen and soluble manganese which had been common contaminants in the spring water decreased dramatically after constructing the walls. Therefore, the results suggested that a SCW can be an attractive method to control leachate from a leaking landfill site.
