The present study was attempted to investigate the effect of apamin on catecholamine (CA) secretion evoked by ACh, high $K^+$, DMPP, McN-A-343, cyclopiazonic acid and Bay-K-8644 from the isolated perfused rat adrenal gland and to establish the mechanism of its action. The perfusion of apamin (1 nM) into an adrenal vein for 20 min produced greatly potentiation in CA secretion evoked by ACh (5.32 $ imes$$10^{-3}$ M), high $K^+$, (5.6 $ imes$$10^{-2}$), DMPP ($10^{-4}$ M for 2 min), McN-A-343 ($10^{-4}$ M for 2 min), cyclopiazonic acid ($10^{-5}$ M for 4 min) and Bay-K-8644 ($10^{-5}$ M for 4 min). However, apamin itself did fail to affect basal catecholamine output. Furthermore, in adrenal glands preloaded with apamin (1 nM) under the presence of glibenclamide ($10^{-6}$ M), an antidiabetic sulfonylurea that has been shown to be a specific blocker of ATP-regulated potassium channels (for 20 min), CA secretion evoked by DMPP and McN-A-343 was not affected. However, the perfusion of high concentration of apamin (100 nM) into an adrenal vein for 20 min rather inhibited significantly CA secretory responses evoked by ACh, high $K^+$, DMPP, McN-A-343, cyclopiazonic acid and Bay-K-8644. Taken together, these results suggest that the low concentration of apamin causes greatly the enhancement of CA secretion evoked by stimulation of cholinergic (both nicotinic and muscarinic) receptors as well as by membrane depolarization. These findings suggests that apamin-sensitive SK ($Ca^{2+}$) channels located in rat adrenal medullary chromaffin cells may play an inhibitory role in the release of catecholamines mediated by stimulation of cholinergic nicotinic and muscarinic receptors as well as membrane depolarization. However, it is thought that high concentration of apamin cause the inhibitory responses in catecholamine secretion evoked by stimulation of cholinergic receptors as well as by membrane depolarization from the rat adrenal gland without relevance with the SK channel blockade.

Synthetic potassium channel openers (KCOs) are agents capable of opening K-channels in excitable cells. These agents are known to have their maximal potency in the smooth muscle tissue, especially in the vascular smooth muscle. Much attention has been focused on the type of K-channel that is responsible for mediating the effects of KCOs. As the KCO-induced changes are antagonized by glibenclamide, an $K_{ATP}$ (ATP-sensitive K-channel) blocker in the pancreatic ${\beta}-cell,\;K_{ATP}$ was suggested to be the channel responsible. However, there also are many results in favor of other types of K-channel $$(maxi-K,\;small\;conductance\;K_{Ca,}\; SK_{ATP}) mediating the effects of KCOs. Effects of lemakalim, (-)enantiomer of cromakalim (BRL 34915), on the spontaneous contractions and slow waves, were investigated in the antral circular muscle of the guinea-pig stomach. Membrane currents and the effects on membrane currents and single channel activities were also measured in single smooth muscle cells and excised membrane patches by using the patch clamp method. Lemakalim induced hyperpolarization and inhibited spontaneous contractions in a dose-dependent manner. These effects were blocked by glibenclamide and low concentrations of tetraethyl ammonium (< mM). Glibenclamide blocked the effect of lemakalim on the membrane potential and slow waves. The mechanoinhibitory effect of lemakalim was blocked by pretreatment with glibenclamide. In a whole ceIl patch clamp condition, lemakalim largely increased outward K currents. These outward K currents were blocked by TEA, glibenclamide and a high concentration of intracelIular EGTA (10 mM). Volatage-gated Ca currents were not affected by lemakalim. In inside-out patch clamp experiments, lemakalim increased the opening frequency of the large conductance $Ca^{2+}-activated$ K channels $(BK_{Ca},\;Maxi-K).$ From these results, it is suggested that lemakalim induces hyperpolarization by opening K-channels which are sensitive to internal Ca and such a hyperpolarization leads to the inhibition of the spontaneous contraction.
The effect of code selection for a multicode DS/CDMA system is evaluated for a high deta rate transmission, The performance is evaluated in terms of bit error and outage probabilities. The multipath fading channel is modeled as a Nakagami-m distribution which has been known to be appropriate to model the multipath fading in urban as well as indoor channels. From simulation results, it is shown that the concatenated sequence of Walsh code and Gold sequence is most promising among many code selections. The considerations in this paper can be applied to the next-generation mobile communication systems such as IMT-2000 which requires high bit rate transmissions.
In this paper, we propose the softwareization of broadcasting system. Recently, the topic of industry is the fourth industrial revolution. The fourth industrial revolution is evolving from physical to virtualization. The Industrial Revolution is based on IT technology. Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things, which are famous for Alpha Go, are based on software. Among IT, software is the main driver of industrial terrain change. The systemization of software on the basis of cloud environment is proceeding rapidly. System development through softwarization can reduce time to market lead time, hardware cost reduction and manual operation compared to existing hardware system. By developing and implementing broadcasting system such as IPTV based on cloud, lead time for opening service compared to existing hardware system can be shortened by more than 90% and investment cost can be saved by about 40%. In addition, the area of the system can be reduced by 50%. In addition, efficiency can be improved between infrastructures, shortening of trouble handling and ease of maintenance. Finally, we can improve customer experience through rapid service opening.
We discuss that the proliferation of new types of retailers such as Internet shopping malls. home shopping systems, which use telecommunication media as means of providing information of products. makes delivery service generally available. Then. we show that the delivery service can be used strategically for profit maximization by intentionally homogenizing consumers and. furthermore, social welfare generally increases by this delivery service unless the cost of delivery service is higher than that of all consumer groups.
TD-SCDMA is considered as an innovative Chinese 3G technology adopted by the ITU for the IMT-2000 family. TD-SCDMA combines TDMA and CDMA components to provide more efficient use of radio resources. However, the downlink scheduler of TD-SCDMA should transmit data packets with the initial configuration and cannot change the configuration dynamically. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an enhanced channel allocation, by which mobile terminals can share the downlink channelization codes dynamically.
In this paper, performance of a pseudonoise (PN) code tracking loop is analyzed and simulated for a direct-sequence/code-division multiple access ( DS/CDMA) system with imperfect power control in a multipath fading channel. A noncoherent first-order delay-locked loop (DLL) is considered as a PN code tracking loop. Power control error is modeled as a log-normally distributed random variable. From the simulation results, it is shown that for smaller discriminator offset, tracking jitter performance is improved while MTLL performance is degraded. It is shown that large power control error and heavy shadowing substantially degrade the PN tracking performance. The analysis in this paper can be applicable to design of PN code tracking loop for a DS/CDMA system.
