  • Conventional analysis of spectral induced polarization (SIP) data consists of measuring impedances over a range of frequencies, followed by spectral analysis to estimate spectral parameters. For the quantitative and accurate estimation of subsurface SIP parameter distribution, however, a sophisticated and stable inversion technique is required. In this study, we have developed a two-step inversion approach to obtain the two-dimensional distribution of SIP parameters. In the first inversion step, all the SIP data measured over a range of frequencies are simultaneously inverted, adopting cross regularisation of model complex resistivities at each frequency. The cross regularisation makes it possible to enhance the noise characteristics of the inversion by imposing a strong assumption, that complex resistivities should show similar characteristics over a range of frequencies. In numerical experiments, we could verify that our inversion approach successfully reduced inversion artefacts. As a second step, we have also developed an inversion algorithm to obtain SIP parameters based on the Cole-Cole model, in which frequency-dependent complex resistivities from the first step are inverted to obtain a two-dimensional distribution of SIP parameters. In numerical tests, the SIP parameter images showed a fairly good match with the exact model, which suggests that SIP imaging can provide a very useful subsurface image to complement resistivity.

  • With the development of Next Generation convergence Network, the current Internet needs a new network architecture and new session establishment methods, which can support various applications requiring differentiated traffic processing and high quality of service instead of the conventional best-effort service. It is expected that, in next generation network based on All-IP. SIP will play an important role in the session establishment between the end to end user terminals. In this paper, we propose a new network architecture that can provide quality of service based on SIP using the QoS enabled SIP servers and policy servers, and we also propose a new session establishment method that apply the user's demands participating the session establishment when setting up the session using the SIP. Through simulations under various environments, we show the parameter ranges in terms of server capacity and the number of users in access networks to achieve reasonable delay bounds.

  • While the interests in the environmental problem during the construction are increasing, the use of low noise-vibration auger-drilled pilling is increasing to solve noise and vibration problem in pilling. Therefore, in Korea, SIP (Soil-Cement Injected Precast Pile) method is mainly used as auger-drilled pilling. However, there is no proper design criteria compatible with the ground condition of Korea, so which is most wanted. To improve and supplement this situation, direct shear tests for the friction between SIP pile skin interface and soil were executed on various conditions. Through the analysis of test results, skin friction characteristics of SIP were investigated thoroughly Also, hyperbolic model parameter fomulas which describe the friction behavior and the new non-linear unit skin friction capacity model with SM, SC soil were suggested.

  • This paper represents the first comprehensive comparison of the Newton-Raphson's method and Simple Iterative Procedure (SIP) in the maximum likelihood estimation of the two-parameter Weibull distribution. Computer simulation is employed to compare these two methods for multiply censored, singly censored data (Type I or Type Ⅱ censoring) and complete data. Results indicate the Newton-Raphson's with the Menon's estimated value, as an initial point remains the effective iterative procedure for estimating the parameters.

  • Hydraulic conductivity is an important parameter, representing permeable property of the groundwater in aquifers, in the issues of groundwater development, groundwater contamination, and groundwater flow, etc. We estimated a relationship between hydraulic conductivity and electrical properties (formation factor, chargeability, and time constant) of silty sand in the laboratory. For this study, we conducted grain size analysis, constant head permeameter test, and measured electrical resistivity and spectral induced polarization of silty sand samples collected from the riverside alluvium of the Nakdong River in Nogok-ri area, Dasan-myeon, Goryeong-gun in Gyeongbook Province, Korea. In the laboratory test, we used soil samples of approximately uniform porosity with 0.5% error range, and kept the electrical resistivity of pore water with 100 ohm-m. As a result, the relationship between effective particle size and hydraulic conductivity agrees fairly well with the existing empirical formulas. Hydraulic conductivity was correlated with formation factor, chargeability, and time constant: hydraulic conductivity increased with increasing formation factor and time constant as well as with decreasing chargeability.

  • The most great GPS is working on CNS(Car navigation System) and Personal terminal, but ocean has not been. First studied GPS is sailing to ship but We have been connivance that The ship is not need detail navigation. Lately, harbor facilities and transportation service in harbors are complication. We have need accurate ship navigation system. In this paper, author developed algorithms of ellipsoid conversion between WGS84 and BESSEL and develope algorithms of map projection between ellipsoid coordinate system, and plane cartesian system. Author used 3-parameter in covering ellipsoids and used TM and UTM projection in converting between ellipsoid and plane cartesian coordinate. And author analyzed errors through static surveying and dynamic surveying of GPS for proving accuracy of GPS sensor, Furthermore author analyzed deflection error of received position. Finally author developed real time ship navigation system using cheep GPS sensor.
