이송 중 액체오염 검출센서 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on the Sensor Development for Liquid Contamination during Delivery)

  • Previously proposed contamination detecting sensor was revisited for the investigation of the liquid tendency. Experiments revealed different output voltages for several kinds of liquid input, but showed same values for various flow rates of each liquid. The transmittance of the liquid was measured, and it is well correlated with the voltages. Linearity in values and the compensation of the sensor to sensor deviation were tried to obtain. And, long term test was performed as attached at the manufacturing equipment in the field.

빈곤과 비행 발달궤적의 역동적 관계 (Dynamic Relationships of Poverty and Delinquency Trajectories)

  • This study advances knowledge of developmental patterns in poverty and delinquency; data was obtained from waves 1-5 (2003-2007) of the Korea Youth Panel Survey. Semi-parametric group-based modeling (SGM) identified 4 trajectories of poverty from age 13 to 17 : non-poor, poverty increasing, low-level continuous poverty and chronic poverty groups and five developmental trajectories of delinquency : non-offending, late onset, low-level continuous, desisting, and chronic groups. A joint trajectory method predicted patterns of delinquency conditional on poverty trajectories. Chronic and low-level continuous poverty groups were more likely than others to follow chronic trajectories of delinquency; the non-poor group was more likely to be non-offending. Implications of this study for youth welfare were discussed to reduce risk for delinquency.

  • On-Orbit상에서 인공위성의 탑재소프트웨어를 교정하는 경우는 크게 위성의 하드웨어 문제를 소프트웨어적으로 해결/완화, 임무 중 소프트웨어 기능 향상 그리고 지상테스트 동안 확인되지 못한 소프트웨어 문제를 수정하기 위해서 사용된다. 탑재소프트웨어 설계과정에서 이러한 요구조건을 만족할 수 있도록 탑재소프트웨어가 설계되어야 하며 소프트웨어 교정을 위한 잉여 메모리를 반드시 할당해야 한다. 또한, 탑재소프트웨어 실행파일 생성할 경우에도 각 섹션별로 패치가 가능하도록 메모리 맵을 생성해야한다. 기존 저궤도 위성에서는 휘발성 메모리인 RAM 영역에 한해서만 탑재소프트웨어 교정이 가능하였으나 현재 개발 중인 차세대 저궤도 위성에서는 비휘발성 메모리 영역 즉 SGM(Safe Guard Memory)와 NVMEM(Non-Volatile Memory)을 이용하여 탑재소프트웨어를 교정할 수 있는 방식을 제공하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 차세대 저궤도 위성의 탑재소프트웨어의 실시간 교정을 위한 탑재소프트웨어 아키텍처와 제한 사항에 대해서 설명하며 실제 탑재소프트웨어를 교정 하는 방안 과 절차에 대하여 설명한다.

  • 본 논문에서 개발하고자하는 다시점 스테레오 영상 기반의 3차원 깊이 정보 획득 기술은 스테레오 비전, light field, 가상시점, 방송 콘텐츠, 등 다양한 분야의 기술이 융합된 기술로 연구의 중요성이 매우 높다. 본 논문에서는 SGM 기반의 멀티베이스 라인 스테레오 정합 기술을 개발하고 다시점 스테레오 영상에 적용하여 깊이 정보를 획득하였다. 두 시점 간의 스테레오 정합에 있어서 다방향의 에너지 최소화 기술을 적용하고 시점 간의 정합비용함수를 누적하여 마지막으로 S공간 누적방법으로 최적의 깊이영상을 획득하였다. 기존의 스테레오 정합에 비하여 멀티베이스라인 스테레오 정합의 성능 향상을 확인하고 Middlebury 스테레오 영상을 이용하여 성능을 분석하였다.

Unsplit 기법을 적용한 흐름율과 생성항의 처리기법 (Handling Method for Flux and Source Terms using Unsplit Scheme)

  • 본 연구에서는 마른하도 및 복잡한 지형에서의 파의 전파와 같은 수공학 분야에서 해결하기 어려운 문제를 해석하기 위한 고정확도 2차원 수치모형을 개발하기 위해, unsplit 유한체적기법과 HLLC Riemann 해법을 이용한 흐름율 계산으로 쌍곡선형 적분 보존형의 2차원 천수방정식을 해석하였다. Unsplit 기법의 적용을 위해 하상경사항은 발산정리를 이용하여 이산화한 형태를 적용하였으며, 흐름율과 생성항의 균형을 이루기 위해 수면경사법을 시간과 공간에 대해 2차정확도를 가지는 MUSCL 기법과 연계하였다. 그리고 적용한 생성항 처리기법과 흐름율과의 보존특성이 만족함을 보였다. 2차정확도의 사용으로 불연속 지점에서 발생할 수 있는 수치진동을 제거하기 위해서 경사제한자를 사용한 TVD 기법을 적용하였다. 개발모형을 정확해가 존재하는 생성항이 없는 1차원 댐 붕괴 흐름에 적용하여 흐름율 계산의 정확성을 검증하였고, 하상융기를 가진 하도의 정상류 및 천이류 모의를 통해 개발모형의 보존특성을 검증하였으며, 하상경사 및 단면의 확대/축소구간이 존재하는 2차원 댐 붕괴 흐름에 적용하여 개발모형의 적용성을 검증하였다.

Cloning and Sequence Analysis of the Aminoglycoside Resistance Gene from a Nebramycin Complex Producer, Streptoalloteichus hindustanus

  • The aminoglycoside multiple-resistance determinant from Streptoalloteichus hindustanus was cloned into Streptomyces lividans and named nbrB. The 1.2-kb ApaI- BclI fragment encompassing nbrB was located within a 2.6-kb ApaI fragment by successive subcloning experiments. The complete DNA nucleotide sequence of 1.2-kb containing nbrB was determined. The sequence contains an open reading frame that putatively encodes a polypeptide of 281 amino acids with a predicted molecular weight of 30,992. The deduced amino acid sequence of nbrB shows identities of 85.1% to kgmB of S. tenebrarius, 59.6% to sgm of Micromonospora zionensis, and 57.7% to grm of M. rosea. The similarity of nbrB to kgmB suggests that nbrB encodes a 16S rRNA methylase similar to that encoded by kgmB and that both genes might be derived from a common ancestral gene.

A Scalable Explicit Multicast Protocol for MANETs

  • Group oriented multicast applications are becoming increasingly popular in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Due to dynamic topology of MANETs, stateless multicast protocols are finding increased acceptance since they do not require maintenance of state information at intermediate nodes. Recently, several multicast schemes have been proposed which scale better' with the number of multicast sessions than traditional multicast strategies. These schemes are also known as explicit multicast (Xcast; explicit list of destinations in the packet header) or small group multicast (SGM). In this paper, we propose a new scheme for small group' multicast in MANETs named extended explicit multicast (E2M), which is implemented on top of Xcast and introduces mechanisms to make it scalable with number of group members for a given multicast session. Unlike other schemes, E2M does not make any assumptions related to network topology or node location. It is based on the novel concept of dynamic selection of Xcast forwarders (XFs) between a source and its potential destinations. The XF selection is based on group membership and the processing overhead involved in supporting the Xcast protocol at a given node. If the number of members in a given session is small, E2M behaves just like the basic Xcast scheme with no intermediate XFs. As group membership increases, nodes may dynamically decide to become an XF. This scheme, which can work with few E2M aware nodes in the network, provides transparency of stateless multicast, reduces header processing overhead, minimizes Xcast control traffic, and makes Xcast scalable with the number of group members.

Seismic resilience evaluation of RC-MRFs equipped with passive damping devices

  • The use of passive energy dissipation devices has been widely used in the construction industry to minimize the probability of damage occurred under intense ground motion. In this study, collapse margin ratio (CMR) and fragility curves are the main parameters in the assessment to characterize the collapse safety of the structures. The assessment is done on three types of RC frame structures, incorporating three types of dampers, viscoelastic, friction, and BRB dampers. The Incremental dynamic analyses (IDA) were performed by simulating an array of 20 strong ground motion (SGM) records considering both far-field and near-field seismic scenarios that were followed by fragility curves. With respect to far-field ground motion records, the CMR values of the selected frames indicate to be higher and reachable to safety margin more than those under near-field ground motion records that introduce a high devastating impact on the structures compared to far-field excitations. This implies that the near field impact affects the ground movements at the site by attenuation the direction and causing high-frequency filtration. Besides that, the results show that the viscoelastic damper gives better performance for the structures in terms of reducing the damages compared to the other energy dissipation devices during earthquakes.

SPAD과 CNN의 특성을 반영한 ToF 센서와 스테레오 카메라 융합 시스템 (Fusion System of Time-of-Flight Sensor and Stereo Cameras Considering Single Photon Avalanche Diode and Convolutional Neural Network)

  • 3D depth perception has played an important role in robotics, and many sensory methods have also proposed for it. As a photodetector for 3D sensing, single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) is suggested due to sensitivity and accuracy. We have researched for applying a SPAD chip in our fusion system of time-of-fight (ToF) sensor and stereo camera. Our goal is to upsample of SPAD resolution using RGB stereo camera. Currently, we have 64 x 32 resolution SPAD ToF Sensor, even though there are higher resolution depth sensors such as Kinect V2 and Cube-Eye. This may be a weak point of our system, however we exploit this gap using a transition of idea. A convolution neural network (CNN) is designed to upsample our low resolution depth map using the data of the higher resolution depth as label data. Then, the upsampled depth data using CNN and stereo camera depth data are fused using semi-global matching (SGM) algorithm. We proposed simplified fusion method created for the embedded system.

Decision-Making of Determining the Start Time of Charging / Discharging of Electrical Vehicle Based on Prospect Theory

  • The moment when Electrical Vehicle (EV) starts charging or discharging is one of the most important parameters in estimating the impact of EV load on the grid. In this paper, a decision-making problem of determining the start time of charging and discharging during allowed period is proposed and studied under the uncertainty of real-time price. Prospect theory is utilized in the decision-making problem of this paper for it describes a kind of decision making behaviors under uncertainty. The case study uses the parameters of Springo SGM7001EV and adopts the historical realtime locational marginal pricing (LMP) data of PJM market for scenario reduction. Prospect values are calculated for every possible start time in the allowed charging or discharging period. By comparing the calculated prospect values, the optimal decisions are obtained accordingly and the results are compared with those based on Expected Utility Theory. Results show that with different initial State-of-Charge ($SoC_0$) and different reference points, the optimal start time of charging can be the one between 12 a.m. to 3 a.m. and optimal discharging starts at 2 p.m. or 3p.m. Moreover, the decision results of Prospect Theory may differ from that of the Expected Utility Theory with the reference points changing.
