The Behavior of Low Molecular Weight Silicone Fluids in Silicone Rubber (자외선 조사에 따른 실리콘 교무에 존재하는 가동성 저분자량 성분의 거동)

  • In this paper we investigated the behavior of low molecular weight silicone fluids in silicone rubber by W treatment with solvent-extraction and GPC. It was shown that LMW quantity which was extracted by solvent-extraction was decreased in UV treatment time. $200{\sim}450\;g/mol$ distribution of LMW silicone fluid was contributed to recovery. It was similar to result from corona discharge. Morphological analysis was investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The behavior of LMW silicone fluids in silicone rubber which was contributed to recovery was discussed.

  • Deep-trenched photonic crystals passing through InGaN/GaN quantum well structural layer have been fabricated on the surface of GaN-based light emitting diode(LED) using by electron beam nanolithography. The lattice constant and hole diameter of the photonic crystals are 230nm and 140nm, respectively. The structural and electro-optical properties have been investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and power-current-voltage(L-I-V). Electroluminescence from GaN-based LED with deep-trenched photonic crystal shows the higher intensity than that without photonic crystal.

  • In this paper, aging characteristics of silicone rubber used for outdoor insulation have been investigated with regards to salt fog condition and heat aging effect. We look over the change of properties of silicone rubber in salt fog chamber with average leakage current monitoring for observing the transformation of surface degradation properties of silicone rubber with different ATH(alumina trihydrate, $Al_2O_3{\cdot}3H_2O$) filler contents. Surface resistivity, SEM(Scanning Electro Microscope) were measured.

  • Bi-system high-$T_c$ superconductors with the nominal composition $(Bi_{0.7}Pb_{0.3})_2-Sr_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x}$ have been prepared by PJL method. The critical temperature (offset temperature) of the sample annealed for 13 hours in air was 102K. And the results of X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns, scanning electron microscope (SEM) images and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectra analyses, it was found that PJL method is so effective to reduce the heat treatment period.

  • This paper was investigated the changes of surface properties of high-temperature-vulcanized(HTV) semiconductive silicone rubber due to oxygen plasma discharge. The modifications produced on the silicone surface by oxygen plasma were accessed using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), contact angle and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM). The results of the chemical analysis showed that C-H bonds were broken due to plasma discharge and Silica-like bonds (SiOx. x=3~4) increased. It is thought that the above changes lead to the increase of surface energy of high-temperature-vulcanized(HTV) semiconductive silicone rubber. The micromorphology of surface and hydrophobicity due to plasma discharge based on our results were discussed.

  • Laser direct writing of micro-patterned copper lines has been achieved by pyrolytic decomposition of copper formate films (Cu(HCOO)$_2$$.$4H$_2$O), as a precursor, using a focused Ar$\^$+/ laser beam ($\lambda$= 514 nm) on PCB boards and glass substrates. The linewidth and thickness of the lines were investigated as a function of laser power and scan speed. The profiles of the lines were measured by scanning electron microscope (SEM), surface profiler (${\alpha}$-step) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The electrical resistivities of the patterned lines were also investigated as a function of laser parameter using probe station and semiconductor analyzer. we compared resistivities of the patterned lines with that of the Cu bulk, respectively.

  • The applicability of models based on fractal geometry to characterize the surface of the EL devices was investigated. Insulating layer and phosphor layer of EL devices were deposited on ITO glass using e-beam method. The images of phosphor layer by scanning electron microscope(SEM) were transformed to binary coded data. The relations between fractal geometry and electrical characteristics of EL devices were investigated. When the fractal dimension of $Cas:EuF_3$ EL device was 1.82 and its grain boundary area was 19%, the brightness of $Cas:EuF_3$ EL device was 261 cd/$\textrm{m}^2$.

  • To improvement the magnetic and frequency properties of YIG(Yttrium-Iron Garnet) in microwave region, it is investigated that the effect of $Al^{3+}$ ions on magnetic and frequency characteristics of YIG, using samples of basic YIG composition( $Y_{3}$F $e_{5}$ $O_{l2}$) added with A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$ from 0 to 2.5 [mol%]. The measurment is conducted mainly for the structural properties and magnetical properties. The structural properties is measured using SEM(Scanning Electro Microscope), EDX(Energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer) and XRD(X-ray diffraction equipment). The magnetical properties is measured with B-H curve tracer and impedance analyzer. As a result, it is confin-ned that the effect of eddy current loss is minimized while maintaining high saturation flux density of YIG, when YIG is added with 0.5 [mol%] of A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$.>.>.

Electrochemical Performance of Lithium Iron Phosphate by Adding Graphite Nanofiber for Lithium Ion Batteries

  • Olivine type $LiFePO_4$ cathode material was synthesized by solid-state reaction method including one-step heat treatment. To improve the electrochemical characteristics, graphite nanofiber (GNF) was added into $LiFePO_4$ cathode material. The structure and morphological performance of $LiFePO_4$ were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD); and a field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The synthesized $LiFePO_4$ has an olivine structure with no impurity, and the average particle size of $LiFePO_4$ is about 200~300 nm. With graphite nanofiber added, the discharge capacity increased from 113.43 mAh/g to 155.63 mAh/g at a current density of 0.1 $mA/cm^2$. The resistance was also significantly decreased by the added graphite nanofiber.
