Development of Software Education Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument for Elementary School Teachers (초등 교사의 소프트웨어 교육 교수효능감 측정 도구(SE-TEBI) 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to measure teachers' beliefs to teach software education effectively. Based on the revised version of the STEBI-B questionnaire, factors influencing the software education were added through the literature review and composed of sub-factors of the category of personal software education teaching efficacy and software education outcome expectancy. And then, 146 in-service elementary school teachers were surveyed preliminary 35 questions. The collected data were analyzed by factor analysis and reliability analysis, and 5 items were deleted to complete the final item. A factor analysis and reliability analysis of the final 30 questions were conducted to demonstrate the appropriateness of the item composition, and software education teaching efficacy belief instrument(SE-TEBI) was developed.

The Effect of Software Education Teaching Efficacy(SE-TE) of In-service Teachers on Backward Design based TPACK-P Teachers' Training Program (백워드 설계 기반 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램이 교사의 SW교육 교수효능감(SE-TE)에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop TPACK-P teachers' training program based on backward design included understanding of backward design principles in order to enhance teachers' professionalism of software education and informatics education. This teachers' training program was conducted for non-informatics teachers in 32 hours. As a results, teachers showed that post-test result of SE-TEBI was higher than pre-test and the t-test results showed that the total value of SE-TE was t=-3.541(p< .01), subscale PSETE was t=-3.559( p< .01) and SEOE was t=-2.258(p< .05). Therefore, we demonstrate that it helps improve the teaching professionalism of teachers. However, as a result of the test, teachers' PSETE tend to be lower in SEOE, which is interpreted as a lack of confidence in the lessons. Therefore, in further study, it is necessary to develop a teacher education program that can promote the confidence of teachers.

  • 본 논문에서는 초등 현직 교사 146명을 대상으로 실시한 소프트웨어 교육 교수효능감 검사지(Software Education Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument, SE-TEBI) 조사 결과에 따라 교사의 성별, 지역, 경력, 연수 경험 및 시간, SW 교육에 대한 태도와의 상관을 알아보기 위하여 이변량 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 소프트웨어 교육 교수효능감(Software Education Teaching Efficacy, SE-TE)에 가장 높은 관련성을 보이는 것은 SW 교육에 대한 태도였으며, 그 다음의 관련성을 보이는 것은 연수 경험 및 시간이었다. 성별은 부적 상관을 보였으며, 지역과 경력은 통계적으로 유의한 상관을 보이지 않았다. 이러한 분석결과는 초등 교사의 SE-TE를 증진시키기 위해서는 SW교육에 대한 긍정적인 태도를 함양할 수 있도록 지속적인 연수 경험을 제공하여야 함을 시사한다.

The Analysis of Difference in Software Education Teaching Efficacy according to Variables of In-service Elementary School Teachers (현직 초등 교사의 변인에 따른 소프트웨어 교육 교수효능감(SE-TE) 차이 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed the differences of SW education teaching efficacy(SE-TE) according to variables such as gender, region, training experience, and attitude toward SW education. As a result, there was no difference according to the region, but there was statistically significant difference in the other variables. The correlation analysis and the regression analysis showed that the training experience and the attitude toward the SW education had the most correlation and explanatory power to the SE-TE. These results suggest that the training should be designed in order to enhance the teachers' SE-TE, to increase the opportunities of training, to provide continuous training, to operate the training hours efficiently, and to improve the teachers' personal SW education teaching efficacy.
