Large Signal Unified Model for GaAs pHEMT using Modified Curtice Model (새롭게 수정된 Curtice 모델을 이용한 GaAs pHEMT 대신호 통합모델 구축)

  • In this paper, the large signal unified model is established for H4O GaAs pHEMT of GEC-Marconi using modified Curtice model. This unified model includes DC characteristic, small signal, and noise characteristic as various bias. Particularly, the model can simply and physically explain trans-conductance $(g_m)$ of pHEMT using modified Curtice model, and can tell the difference $g_m$, $R_ds$ at DC and these at AC through inclusion of internal RF-choke. The results of the established model built up using SDD in HP-Eessof show good agreement to the S/W measured data in DC, small signal, and noise characteristic. This model can also be applied to various computer aided analysis, such as linear simulation, 1-tone harmonic balance simulation, and multi-tone harmonic balance simulation, so the LNA(Low Noise Amplifier), oscillator, and mixer design has been shown using this model library.

Development of Radiation Detector with Intensifying Screen (증감지를 이용한 방사선검출기 개발)

  • In this study, simple and portable radiation detection system using X-ray intensifying screen, optical sensor and micro-controller unit for education was proposed. The system was simply composed of detection unit consisting of an optical sensor and intensifying screen, micro-controller unit, and was designed to be suitable for portable. Radiation was measured using developed detection system and absorbed dose dosimeter with changing tube voltage from 50 to 100 kVp. The tube current and SDD were fixed on 100 mAs and 100 cm, and dose were measured repeated ten times at each tube voltage. The response and linearity of the detection system were confirmed using the measured values. It was confirmed that the comparison measurement results of the detection system and absorbed dose dosimeter showed a high correlation(r : 0.998, p<.001). In this results, the feasibility of the detection system with intensifying screen and micro-controller unit based was confirmed, and we considered that the developed detection system could be applied to portable, compact, low cost system for education.

A FLOW CHARACTERISTICS FOR Y-CONNECTION IN HIGH-REYNOLDS-NUMBER FLOW SYSTEM (고레이놀즈수 유동 장치에서 Y형 이음의 유동 특성)

  • In nuclear power plant, the reactor cooling system has maintained high-Reynolds-number flow above 1E+07 to cool a heat generated by the reactor. To minimize uncertainty for flow calibration, it is necessary to simulate the high Reynolds' number flow. Y-connection is selected to connect four (4) parallel high flow circulation pumps for maintaining the high flow rate. This paper describes the characteristics for Y-connection by computer flow simulation. It was confirmed through the results that the pressure loss of the Y-connection was lower than that of T-connection. Also as the connection angle of Y-connection was small, as the pressure loss was low.

  • The aim of the present study is to define and tentatively to interpret the distribution of polluted water released from Lake Sihwa into Yellow Sea using Landsat TM. Since the region is an extreme case 2 water, empirical algorithms for chlorophyll-a and suspended sediments have limitations. This work focuses on the use of multi-temporal Landsat TM. We applied PCA to detect evolution of spatial feature of polluted water after release from the lake. The PCA results were compared with in situ data, such as chlorophyll-a, suspended sediments, Secchi disk depth (SDD), surface temperature, radiance reflectance at six bands. The in situ remote sensing reflectance was analysed with PCA. On the basis of these In situ data we found good correlation between first Principal Component and Secchi disk depth ($R^2$=0.7631), although other variables did not result in such a good correlation. The problems in applying PCA techniques to multi-spectral remote sensed data are also discussed.

  • This paper proposes some guidelines for Korean standards for statistical metadata to share on the Internet. The construction includes the minimum metadata set needed in the international standards based on the report and Korean Statistics Office. In result, 29 categories were selected from the SDMX and SDDS’consistency items and 14 categories from Dublin Core. Overall, 43 international statistics metadata was completed.

  • Proper evaluation about the penumbra is very important to improve the efficacy of radiation theraphy. There are two kinds of physical penumbra, geometric penumbra and transmission penumbra. In this study, we evaluated the variation of physical penumbra according to the varing enery level, changing the field size and depth. Physical penumbra width was decreased as the source size decreased, and as the SDD increased, but the consideration about the scatter radiation and mechanical stability is an important factor. For the two adjacent beams, upper collimator should be used and especially for Co-60 unit, it is efficient to use the extended collimator.

A Semi-analytical Model for Depletion-mode N-type Nanowire Field-effect Transistor (NWFET) with Top-gate Structure

  • We propose a semi-analytical current conduction model for depletion-mode n-type nanowire field-effect transistors (NWFETs) with top-gate structure. The NWFET model is based on an equivalent circuit consisting of two back-to-back Schottky diodes for the metal-semiconductor (MS) contacts and the intrinsic top-gate NWFET. The intrinsic top-gate NWFET model is derived from the current conduction mechanisms due to bulk charges through the center neutral region as well as of accumulation charges through the surface accumulation region, based on the electrostatic method, and thus it includes all current conduction mechanisms of the NWFET operating at various top-gate bias conditions. Our previously developed Schottky diode model is used for the MS contacts. The newly developed model is integrated into ADS, in which the intrinsic part of the NWFET is developed by utilizing the Symbolically Defined Device (SDD) for an equation-based nonlinear model. The results simulated from the newly developed NWFET model reproduce considerably well the reported experimental results.

Development of Ingrowth Estimation Equations for Pinus densiflora in Korea Derived from National Forest Inventory Data (국가산림자원조사 자료를 이용한 소나무의 진계생장 추정식 개발)

  • This study was conducted to develop ingrowth estimation equations on Pinus densiflora found in Gangwon Province and in the center of Korean Peninsula, based on the National Forest Inventory (NFI)'s permanent sampling plot data. For this study, identical sampling plots in $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ NFI data were collected in order to identify ingrowth amounts for the last 5 years. Following two-stage approaches in developing the ingrowth estimation equations, the logistic regression model was used in the first stage to estimate the ingrowth probability. In the second stage, regression analysis on sampling plots with ingrowth occurrence was used to estimate the ingrowth amount. A candidate model was finally selected as an optimal model after a verification based on three evaluation statistics which include mean difference (MD), standard deviation of difference (SDD) and standard error of difference (SED). In results, a logistic regression model based on the number of sampling plot which did not result in ingrowth (model VI), was selected for an ingrowth probability estimation equation and exponential function including the species composition (SC) variable was optimal for an ingrowth estimation equation (model VII). The ingrowth estimation equations developed in this study also evaluated the estimation ability in various forest stand conditions, and no particular issue in fitness or applicability was observed.

  • Because of the properties of software such as invisibility, complexity, and changeability, software configuration management (SCM) for software artifacts generated during software life-cycle has been used for guarantee of the quality of the software. However, the existing SCM system has only focused on code artifacts and software development document artifacts such as Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Software Design Description (SDD), and Software Test Description (STD). Moreover, software research-oriented project comes out late the code artifacts and the software development document artifacts. Therefore, there is a need for trace and management of software research document artifacts composed of highly abstracted non-functional requirements like 'the purpose of the project', 'the objectives', and 'the progress' before generation of the code artifacts and the software development document artifacts for a long time. Nevertheless, the existing SCM system cannot trace and manage them. In this paper, we propose content-based configuration management system comprised of the relevance link generation phase and content-based testing phase to trace and manage them. The preliminary application results show applicability and feasibility of the proposed system.
