  • Receiving room's floor impact sound level is been influenced to various factor of slab thickness, room size, structure etc. This study examined the noise of upper part slab and room mode in receiving room to be importance factor that influence in receiving room level among this factors. According to this study, vibration mode in slab and room mode are concentrated on frequency that is high level relatively. This causes bad effect in floor impact sound level. Therefore, method to reduce floor impact sound level is to change vibration mode using slab upper part's resilient material or reduce room mode in receiving room.

  • Mechanical properties and microstructure were investigated on vacuum induction melted $Fe_3A1$base alloys of $DO_3$ structure. Specal emphasis were put on the effect of alloy chemistry, grain size and process(rolling, directional solidification) on mechanical properties of Fe-22.5-39at.%Al at elevated temperature between room temperature and $800^{\circ}C$. grain size of as-cast alloys is refined by rolling from 1mm to $80\mum$. Tensile strength of Fe-24.lat.%AI was about 404MPa at the critical ordering temperature, and the fracture strain of the alloy was 1-2% at room temperature. An inverse temperature dependence of the strength is noticed as-cast $Fe_3A1$. The presence of Cr and Zr do not affect the room temperature ductility and high temperature strength. Fracture strain of directionally solidified(DS) $Fe_3A1$ is about 1%at room temperature, but is about 60%at. $T_C$(550^{\circ}C)$. Tensile strength of DS alloy is lower than that of as-cast alloy at $530^{\circ}C$ and $430^{\circ}C$. Failure mode at room temperature varies from transgranular fracture to intergranular fracture with the addition of Al. the failure mode also varies from mixed(transgranular+ intergranular) mode between room temperature and $500^{\circ}C$ to intergranular mode above $550^{\circ}C$

  • This study compared the floor impact sound level of rectangular receiving room type to differed receiving room types to analyze effect of room mode. The floor impact sound level of master room were higher than the level of living room which resulted from room mode. The result showed that the level of low frequency bandwidth in the location varied with receiving room types were lower than general measuring point of rectangular receiving room.

  • To investigate the heavy-weight impact noise of apartment houses, numerical analysis was performed. The analysis acoustic pressure consider acoustic mode by finite element method. The variables considered effecting on the acoustic pressure are the Acoustic mode, acoustic damping, and the impulse load. The heavy-weight impact noise is a changeable value in the room. Since the most part of the frequency component of heavy-weight impact noise has low frequency. The noise in low frequency is related to the vibration of structure, the reflection of acoustic wave caused by wall and the standing wave called by acoustic mode. The prediction by the numerical analysis was verified with test result of the heavy weight-impact noise at apartment houses.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the effective ventilation strategies and control methods that can minimize energy cost maintaining acceptable IAQ level in apartment house. The effects of the air-cleaning and heat-recovery ventilation system on IAQ under various operating conditions are investigated based on the experimental and CFD analyzed results. The results can be summarized as follows. (1) When a ventilator is not operated, the concentration of several pollutants may highly show in the house even though environment-friendly building materials are applied. Therefore, a mechanical ventilation system is required to obtain proper ventilation. (2) The pollutant concentration is noticeably deceased under air-cleaning/ventilation mode of air-clinic system, however, pollutant of kitchen is stagnant, because fresh air is not carried into the kitchen. (3) When air-clinic system is only equipped at master bedroom and living room, the system does not effectively deliver fresh air throughout the whole house, and then high pollutant concentration is obtained in each room. In contrast the average pollutant concentration meets the guideline when air-clinic system is installed at each room. (4) The air-cleaning/ventilation mode significantly affects on room ventilation in comparison with ventilation mode only.

  • The present study has been directed at developing thermal models to investigate the dynamic behavior of a solar cooling system including an absorption chiller, solar collectors, a hot water storage tank, a fan coil unit, and the air-conditioned space. The operation of the system was simulated for 8 hours in two different operation modes. In the mode 1, the system operated without any capacity control.0 the mode 2, an auxiliary boiler supplied heat to the generator if hot water temperature became lower than a certain value. Moreover, the mass flow rate of hot water to the generator was controlled by comparing the instantaneous room air temperature with the design value. The variation of temperature and concentration in the system components and that of heat transfer rates in the system were obtained for both modes of operation. It was found that the room temperature was maintained near the desired value in the mode 2 by supplying auxiliary heat or controlling the mass flow rate of hot water, while the deviation of room temperature was quite great in the mode 2.

  • This paper presents the procedures and technique of the decision on the decision on the mount in a diesel engine development newly. To assess the vibration chara- cteristics of the engine plus transmission, their inertia moments are calculated for three engine versions. i.e., NA(Naturally Aspirated), TC(Turbocharged) and TCI(Turbocharged and Intercooled). These data are used to determine the mount layout and stiffness values affecting the noise quality of an engine as well as a vehicle. The main purpose of this paper is to design the mount rubber having the optimal stiffness characteristics through the investigation of the calculation results and the mount conditions when an engine is installed in a vehicle using the existing engine mount room. Thus, this paper describes the optimal mount positions, rubber stiffnesses, natural frequency, mode shapes and so on using ADAMS program to apply the newly developed engines to three different vehicles.

  • The Sabine's formula has been widlely used for calculating reverberation time and applied for actual systems. The result of Sabine's method is only same as the reverberation time of one axial wave according to the wave theory. Reverberation time is mainly dependent on the standing waves. In case of the rectangular room the frequencies of three mode covering 250Hz and several intensities at various positions of the room were measures by a spectrograph. It wart found that axial wavers and tangential waves decayed more slowly than oblique waves. The experimental results showed that the amount of axial and tangential wave in a frequency band varies depending on the position in the room. It is concluded that the results give to control reverberation times in a room.
