메인롤을 이용한 대형 형상링롤링의 예비성형체 연구 (Preform design of large sized profile ring rolling using main roll)

  • 본 연구는 외경부에 단이 존재하는 제품의 링롤링작업을 위한 예비성형체의 설계에 관한 연구이다. 형상링롤링 공정에서 가장 일반적으로 나타나는 결함 중 하나는 미충진이며, 변형량이 적을 경우나 외경부 단의 깊이가 클 경우 발생한다. 이러한 미충진을 방지하기 위해서는 변형량을 증가시키거나 예비성형체를 최종형상에 근접하도록 설계하여야 한다. 결함이 없는 제품을 생산하기 위하여 형상비와 성형비를 이용한 충진한계식을 제안하였다. 충진한계식은 네가지 경우에 대하여 유한요소해석과 시험생산한 결과를 토대로 작성되었다. 실물 크기의 형상링롤링 작업을 수행하고 충진한계식을 이용한 예측과 비교함으로써 제안된 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

고속철도차량용 제빙액으로의 적용가능물질에 대한 융빙성능 평가 (Ice Melting Capacity Evaluation of Applicable Materials of De-icing Fluid for High Speed Railway Rolling Stock)

  • 동절기 고속철도차량 하부 및 대차부에 부착된 설빙이 차량 운행 시 도상자갈구간(침목이 받는 차량 하중 전달 및 침목 고정을 위한 자갈 구간)에서 고속으로 낙하하여 자갈을 비산시켜 이로 인한 철도차량 구조물 및 시설물의 피해가 보고되고 있으며, 이는 고속철도 개통 이후 지속되고 있다. 이러한 문제점 해결을 위해 자갈의 비산을 방지하는 네트, 인력 제빙, 이동식 열풍기 등을 사용하고 있으나 효율성이 떨어진다. 기존보다 효율적인 제빙을 위해 화학적 제빙액에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 본 연구에서는 화학적 제빙액으로 사용되는 물질들의 융빙성능, 동점도, 증발성 등을 평가하여 고속철도차량 제빙용으로 최적의 물질을 찾고자 한다. 평가 물질로는 유기산염류 4종(개미산나트륨, 초산나트륨, 개미산칼륨, 초산칼륨)과 알코올류 2종(프로필렌글리콜, 글리세롤)을 대상으로 하였다. 이때, 실내 평가에서는 개미산칼륨, 초산칼륨, 프로필렌글리콜이 유사한 융빙성능을 보였으나, 모사 살포 시스템을 이용한 융빙성능 결과, 프로필렌글리콜이 가장 우수한 성능을 보였다. 이는 프로필렌글리콜의 동점도가 2.989029 St로 다른 물질 대비 높아 얼음에서 보다 오래 체류하여 제빙하기 때문이다. 또한, 개미산칼륨과 초산칼륨은 결정이 석출되어 차량외관에 악영향을 미치므로 사용에 어려움이 있다. 본 연구를 통해 프로필렌글리콜이 고속철도차량용 제빙액으로 최적의 물질임을 확인하였다.

  • 철도차량기지에서는 철도차량의 안전한 운행을 위해 연간검수 이상의 기기보전(지정보전, 장치보전), 차체 보전을 위한 장기계획에 의해 종합적인 유지보수 혹은 중대사고에 의한 차량의 파손으로 인한 차량의 보수작업이 이루어지는 중수선 작업을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 용산기지 이전과 관련하여 대전철도차량관리단 부지 내에 계획 중인 CDC(Commuter Diesel Car)와 발전차를 정비하는 중수선 시설의 설계안에 대한 검증을 위한 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하고 시뮬레이션 실험을 통하여 중수선 시설의 용량을 검증하였다. 시뮬레이션 모델은 철도공사의 중정비 검수공정도를 바탕으로 2가지 설계안의 설계용량을 검증하였다. 2가지 설계안을 평가하기 위하여 검수 완료 차량, 재장일, 작업장 점유율, 공정진행 차량수 및 입장검사 대기차량수 등 5가지를 분석하여 연간 검수용량이 충분한 설계안을 선정 하였다. 또한 우수한 결과를 보인 설계안의 연간 최대 검수 가능한 차량 수는 현재 연간 검수량 보다 약 15% 많은 총 340량임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Real-time hybrid simulation of smart base-isolated raised floor systems for high-tech industry

  • Adopting sloped rolling-type isolation devices underneath a raised floor system has been proved as one of the most effective approaches to mitigate seismic responses of the protected equipment installed above. However, pounding against surrounding walls or other obstructions may occur if such a base-isolated raised floor system is subjected to long-period excitation, leading to adverse effects or even more severe damage. In this study, real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) is adopted to assess the control performance of a smart base-isolated raised floor system as it is an efficient and cost-effective experimental method. It is composed of multiple sloped rolling-type isolation devices, a rigid steel platen, four magnetorheological (MR) dampers, and protected high-tech equipment. One of the MR dampers is physically tested in the laboratory while the remainders are numerically simulated. In order to consider the effect of input excitation characteristics on the isolation performance, the smart base-isolated raised floor system is assumed to be located at the roof of a building and the ground level. Four control algorithms are designed for the MR dampers including passive-on, switching, modified switching, and fuzzy logic control. Six artificial spectrum-compatible input excitations and three slope angles of the isolation devices are considered in the RTHS. Experimental results demonstrate that the incorporation of semi-active control into a base-isolated raised floor system is effective and feasible in practice for high-tech industry.

온실용 간이 자율주행 작업차의 개발 (Development of a Simple Autonomous Vehicle for Greenhouse Works)

  • This study was conducted to developed to develop a simple battery-powered autonomous vehicle for greenhouse works. A steering method using speed difference of two independent driving motors was adopted. DC motor driving circuit, speed control circuit and controller using one-chip microcomputer were constructed. The inputs of controller are rolling of the vehicle and current speed of driving motors. Using these signals, automatic guidance system along furrow was developed. A computer simulation program by the kenematic analysis was developed to find out optimal control algorithm. The results of this study are as follows. 1. Automatic guidance system along the furrow that adopted two independent driving motors and rolling of vehicle was developed. 2. The results of simulation showed that PID control was adequate to automatic guidance system along furrow. 3. Two commercial 12V battery serially connected were able to drive the vehicle on the soil ground for five hours in continuous operation and for four hours in intermittent operation without recharging the battery. 4. The speed range was 0-0.7m/s and the rolling of vehicle could be controlled within $pm5^{\circ}$ range. 5. From a series of tests, developed vehicle was found to be a useful tool for greenhouse works.

  • Reduced activation ferritic steel, JLF-1 steel (Fe-9Cr-2W-V-Ta), is one of the promising candidate materials for fusion reactor applications. Fracture toughness ($J_IC$) and tensile tests were carried out at room temperature and elevated temperature ($400^{\circ}C$). Two types of CT specimen were prepared to examine the effect of rolling direction on the fracture toughness of JLF-1 steel. Four types of tensile specimen were also prepared to investigate the property by the rolling direction and welding. The Micro Vickers hardness was measured at various distances of a cross section of the TIG joints of JLF-1 steel according to the heating history of each position. Finally, the fracture surface was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Seismic control performance and experimental study of multiple pounding tuned rolling mass damper

  • Multiple pounding tuned rolling mass damper (MPTRMD) distributed in the cavity of voided slabs is proposed to passively control multi-story frame structures, which disperses the mass of the oscillator to multiple dampers so that the control device can be miniaturized without affecting the vibration control performance. The mechanism and the differential motion equations of the MPTRMD-controlled multi-degree-of-freedom system are derived based on the Lagrange principle. Afterward, this advanced RMD is applied to a simplified 20-floor steel frame to evaluate the seismic control performance in the numerical analysis. A four-storey frame structure equipped with MPTRMD is then taken for a shaking table test to verify its effectiveness of control performance. The pounding mechanism has been detailed studied numerically and experimentally as well. The numerical and experimental results show that the proposed damper is practically promising not only for its prominent control performance but also for its lightweight and space-saving. Additionally, the pounding mechanism influenced by the variable impact parameters exhibits a balance between the two effects of motional limitations and energy dissipation.

탄소에어로젤 복합전극의 전기용량적 탈이온 공정 특성 (Characteristics of Capacitive Deionization Process using Carbon Aerogel Composite Electrodes)

  • 전기화학적으로 이온을 흡착시켜 이온을 제거하는 capacitive deionization(CDI)공정용 전극으로 탄소에어로젤에 실리카젤이 첨가된 다공성 탄소에어로젤 복합전극을 사용하여 1,000ppm NaCl수용액에서 탈염 특성에 대한 충전과 방전시 시간에 따른 전류 변화, CDI효율을 조사하였다. Paste rolling법으로 제조된 $10\times10cm^2$다공성 탄소에어로젤 복합전극은 촉매 분야에서 활용되고 있는 다공성 지지체인 실리카젤을 첨가함으로써 CDI 반응진행에 대한 전극활물질 탈락이 없이 전극의 성형성이 크게 향상되었고, 친수성과 전극의 기계적 강도 증가 및 CDI 효율을 증가시킬 수 있었다. 이러한 45개의 전극을 하나의 묶음으로 네 개의 단을 직렬연결 하여, CDI 시스템을 구성하였고 충전 시에는 1.2V, 방전 시에는 0.001V를 각각 10분간 인가하여 실험한 결과 $99\%$ 이상의 CDI 효율을 달성하였다.

유도 공중회전낙법의 COG변인 분석 (A COG Variable Analysis of Air-rolling-breakfall in Judo)

  • It was to study a following research of "A Kinematic Analysis of Air-rolling-breakfall in Judo". The purpose of this study was to analyze the Center of Gravity(COG) variables when performing Air-rolling-breakfall motion, while passing forward over(PFO) to the vertical-hurdles(2m height, take off board 1m height) in judo. Subjects were four males of Y. University squad, who were trainees of the demonstration exhibition team, representatives of national level judoists and were filmed by four 5-VHS 16mm video cameras(60field/sec.) through the three dimensional film analysis methods.COG variable were anterior-posterior directional COG and linear velocity of COG, vertical directional COG and linear velocity of COG. The data collections of this study were digitized by KWON3D program computed The data were standardized using cubic spline interpolation based by calculating the mean values and the standard deviation calculated for each variables. When performing the Air-rolling-breakfall, from the data analysis and discussions, the conclusions were as follows : 1. Anterior-posterior directional COG(APD-COG) when performing Air-rolling-breakfall motion, while PFO over to the vertical-hurdles(2m height) in judo. The range of APD-COG by forward was $0.31{\sim}0.41m$ in take-off position(event 1), $1.20{\sim}1.33m$ in the air-top position(event 2), $2.12{\sim}2.30m$ in the touch-down position(event 3), gradually and $2.14{\sim}2.32m$ in safety breakfall position(event 4), respectively. 2 The linear velocity of APD-COG was $1.03{\sim}2.14m/sec$. in take-off position(event 1), $1.97{\sim}2.22m/sec$. gradually in the air-top position(event 2), $1.05{\sim}1.32m/sec$. in the touch-down position (event 3), gradual decrease and $0.91{\sim}1.23m/sec$. in the safety breakfall position(event 4), respectively. 3. The vertical directional COG(VD-COG) when performing Air-rolling-breakfall motion, while PFO to the vertical-hurdles(2m height) in judo. The range of VD-COG toward upward from mat was $1.35{\sim}1.46m$ in take-off position(event 1), the highest $2.07{\sim}2.23m$ in the air-top position(event 2), and after rapid decrease $0.3{\sim}0.58m$ in the touch-down position(event 3), gradual decrease $0.22{\sim}0.50m$ in safety breakfall position(event 4), respectively. 4. The linear velocity of VlJ.COG was $1.60{\sim}1.87m/sec$. in take-off position(event 1), $0.03{\sim}0.08m/sec$. gradually in the air-top position(event 2), $-4.37{\sim}\;-4.76m/sec$. gradual decrease in the touch-down position(event 3), gradual decrease and -4.40${\sim}\;-4.77m/sec$. in safety breakfall position(event 4), respectively. When performing Air-rolling-breakfall showed parabolic movement from take-off position to air-top position, and after showed vertical fall movement from air-top position to safety breakfall. In conclusion, Ukemi(breakfall) is safety fall method Therefore, actions need for performing safety fall movement, that decrease and minimize shock and impact during Air-rolling-breakfall from take-off board action to air-top position must be maximize of angular momentum, and after must be minimize in touch-down position and safety breakfall position.

Fatigue Life Evaluation of Welded Joints by a Strain-life Approach Using Hardness and Tensile Strength

  • To evaluate the fatigue lifetime of structures, it is necessary to identify the values of parameters through tests. From the viewpoint of time and cost it is difficult for engineers to get the necessary data through tests. In this study, we surveyed literature and proposed a procedure to identify the fatigue parameters expressed with the Brinell hardness and elastic modulus. After obtaining stress concentration factors by finite element analysis, we calculated fatigue notch factors using Peterson's formula. Taking into account the welding residual stress, which was also obtained by finite element analysis, we evaluated the fatigue lifetime of four kinds of welded joints using the proposed approach. The estimated results are in a good agreement with the experimental results.
