An accurate prediction of the hydrodynamic maneuvering darivatives is essential to desing a robust control system of a UUV(unmanned underwater vehicle). Typically, these derivatives were estimated by either the towing tank experiment or semi-empirical methods. With the enhancement of high performance computing capacity, a numerical analysis using computational fluid dynamics has reach the level of experiment. Therefore, the aims of the present research are to numerically develop a computational model for the vertical planar motion mechanism of a UUV and to estimate the hydrodynamics loads in 6-DOF. The target structure of the present study was manta type UUV (12meter length). The numerical model was developed in 1/ 6 model scale. Numerical results were compared with the results of the towing tank experiment for validation. In the present study, a commercial RANS-based viscous solver STARCCM+ (ver 17.06) was used.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18 are the major causes of cervical lesions and are associated with 71% of cervical cancer cases globally. However, public health infrastructures to support cervical cancer screening may be unavailable to women in low-resource areas. Therefore, sensitive, convenient, and cost-efficient diagnostic methods are required for the detection of HPV16/18. Here, we designed two novel methods, real-time ERA and ERA-LFD, based on enzymatic recombinase amplification (ERA) for quick point-of-care identification of the HPV E6/E7 genes. The entire detection process could be completed within 25 min at a constant low temperature (35-43℃), and the results of the combined methods could be present as the amplification curves or the bands presented on dipsticks and directly interpreted with the naked eye. The ERA assays evaluated using standard plasmids carrying the E6/E7 genes and clinical samples exhibited excellent specificity, as no cross-reaction with other common HPV types was observed. The detection limits of our ERA assays were 100 and 101 copies/µl for HPV16 and 18 respectively, which were comparable to those of the real-time PCR assay. Assessment of the clinical performance of the ERA assays using 114 cervical tissue samples demonstrated that they are highly consistent with real-time PCR, the gold standard for HPV detection. This study demonstrated that ERA-based assays possess excellent sensitivity, specificity, and repeatability for HPV16 and HPV18 detection with great potential to become robust diagnostic tools in local hospitals and field studies.
In this paper, $H_2$, $H_{\infty}$, and mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ FIR filters are newly proposed for discrete-time state space signal models. The proposed filters require linearity, unbiased property, FIR structure, and independence of the initial state information in addition to the performance criteria in both $H_2$ and $H_{\infty}$ sense. It is shown that $H_2$, $H_{\infty}$, and mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ FIR filter design problems can be converted into convex programming problems via linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) with a linear equality constraint. Simulation studies illustrat that the proposed FIR filter is more robust against uncertainties and has faster convergence than the conventional IIR filters. the conventional IIR filters.

We prepared a highly sensitive hydrogen (H2) sensor based on Indium oxides (In2O3) porous nanoparticles (NPs) loaded with Platinum (Pt) nanoparticle in the range of 1.6~5.7 at.%. In2O3 NPs were fabricated by microwave irradiation method, and decorations of Pt nanoparticles were performed by electroless plating on In2O3 NPs. Crystal structures, morphologies, and chemical information on Pt-loaded In2O3 NPs were characterized by grazing-incident X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, respectively. The effect of the Pt nanoparticles on the H2-sensing performance of In2O3 NPs was investigated over a low concentration range of 5 ppm of H2 at 150-300 ℃ working temperatures. The results showed that the H2 response greatly increased with decreasing sensing temperature. The H2 response of Pt loaded porous In2O3 NPs is higher than that of pristine In2O3 NPs. H2 gas selectivity and high sensitivity was explained by the extension of the electron depletion layer and catalytic effect. Pt loaded porous In2O3 NPs sensor can be a robust manner for achieving enhanced gas selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of H2.

FMCW LiDAR system with robust target detection capabilities even under adverse operating conditions such as snow, rain, and fog is addressed in this paper. Our focus is primarily on enhancing the performance of FMCW LiDAR by improving the characteristics of the frequency-modulated laser, which directly influence range resolution, coherence length, and maximum measurement range etc. of LiDAR. We describe the utilization of an unbalanced Mach-Zehnder laser interferometer to measure real-time changes of the lasing frequency and to correct frequency modulation errors through an optical phase-locked loop technique. To extend the coherence length of laser, we employ an extended-cavity laser diode as the laser source and implement a laser interferometer with an photonic integrated circuit for miniaturization of optical system. The developed FMCW LiDAR system exhibits a bandwidth of 10.045GHz and a remarkable distance resolution of 0.84mm.

Given the high theoretical capacity (1,675 mAh g-1) and the inherent affordability and ubiquity of elemental sulfur, it stands out as a prominent cathode material for advanced lithium metal batteries. Traditionally, sulfur was sequestered within conductive porous carbons, rooted in the understanding that their inherent conductivity could offset sulfur's non-conductive nature. This study, however, pivots toward a transformative approach by utilizing diatom shell (DS, diatomite)-a naturally abundant and economically viable siliceous mineral-as a sulfur host. This approach enabled the development of a sulfurlayered diatomite/S composite (DS/S) for cathodic applications. Even in the face of the insulating nature of both diatomite and sulfur, the DS/S composite displayed vigorous participation in the electrochemical conversion process. Furthermore, this composite substantially curbed the loss of soluble polysulfides and minimized structural wear during cycling. As a testament to its efficacy, our Li-S battery, integrating this composite, exhibited an excellent cycling performance: a specific capacity of 732 mAh g-1 after 100 cycles and a robust 77% capacity retention. These findings challenge the erstwhile conviction of requiring a conductive host for sulfur. Owing to diatomite's hierarchical porous architecture, eco-friendliness, and accessibility, the DS/S electrode boasts optimal sulfur utilization, elevated specific capacity, enhanced rate capabilities at intensified C rates, and steadfast cycling stability that underscore its vast commercial promise.
In this paper, we propose a MWF-PMC noise processing method which enhances the input speech by using Mel-warped Wiener Filtering (MWF) at pre-processing stage and compensates the recognition model by using PMC (Parallel Model Combination) at post-processing stage for speech recognition in noisy environments. The PMC uses the residual noise extracted from the silence region of enhanced speech at pre-processing stage to compensate the clean speech model and thus this method is considered to improve the performance of speech recognition in noisy environments. For recognition experiments we dew.-sampled KLE PBW (Phoneme Balanced Words) 452 word speech data to 8kHz and made 5 different SNR levels of noisy speech, i.e., 0dB. 5dB, 10dB, 15dB and 20dB, by adding Subway, Car and Exhibition noise to clean speech. From the recognition results, we could confirm the effectiveness of the proposed MWF-PMC method by obtaining the improved recognition performances over all compared with the existing combined methods.
It is known that the problem of FIR filtering with noisy input and output data can be solved by a total least squares (TLS) estimation. It is also known that the performance of the TLS estimation is very sensitive to the ratio between the variances of the input and output noises. In this paper, we propose a convex combination algorithm between the ordinary recursive LS based TLS (RTLS) and the ordinary recursive LS (RLS). This combined algorithm is robust to the noise variance ratio and has almost the same complexity as the RTLS. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs near TLS in noise variance ratio ${\gamma}{\approx}1$ and that it outperforms TLS and LS in the rage of 2 < $\gamma$ < 20. Consequently, the practical workability of the TLS method applied to noisy data has been significantly broadened.

Importance: The creation of robust maternal-embryonic interactions and implantation models is important for comprehending the early stages of embryonic development and reproductive disorders. Traditional two-dimensional (2D) cell culture systems often fail to accurately mimic the highly complex in vivo conditions. The employment of three-dimensional (3D) organoids has emerged as a promising strategy to overcome these limitations in recent years. The advancements in the field of organoid technology have opened new avenues for studying the physiology and diseases affecting female reproductive tract. Observations: This review summarizes the current strategies and advancements in the field of 3D organoids to establish maternal-embryonic interaction and implantation models for use in research and personalized medicine in assisted reproductive technology. The concepts of endometrial organoids, menstrual blood flow organoids, placental trophoblast organoids, stem cell-derived blastoids, and in vitro-generated embryo models are discussed in detail. We show the incorportaion of organoid systems and microfluidic technology to enhance tissue performance and precise management of the cellular surroundings. Conclusions and Relevance: This review provides insights into the future direction of modeling maternal-embryonic interaction research and its combination with other powerful technologies to interfere with this dialogue either by promoting or hindering it for improving fertility or methods for contraception, respectively. The merging of organoid systems with microfluidics facilitates the creation of sophisticated and functional organoid models, enhancing insights into organ development, disease mechanisms, and personalized medical investigations.

The antioxidant potentials of ethanolic extracts derived from Aster yomena (A. yomena) were evaluated by assessing their total phenolic and flavonoid contents and radical scavenging activities. Our findings revealed that the 60% ethanolic extract of A. yomena exhibited the most robust antioxidant properties among all extracts tested. Specifically, the IC50 values for the 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethyl benzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activities of the 60% ethanolic extract from A. yomena were determined to be 1,640.30 ㎍/mL and 2,655.10 ㎍/mL, respectively. Moreover, the inhibitory effect on malondialdehyde increased with the 60% ethanolic extract from A. yomena. To assess the neuroprotective effects, we examined the impact of the 60% ethanolic extract from A. yomena against H2O2-induced cytotoxicity in HT-22 (mouse hippocampal neuronal cell line) and SK-N-MC (human neuroblastoma cell line) cells. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in cell viability and reduced intracellular oxidative stress. Furthermore, the major bioactive compounds present in the 60% ethanolic extract from A. yomena were identified as chlorogenic acid and rutin through high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis.
