  • In this paper, the designed fish robot is researched and developed for aquarium underwater robot. This paper is a study on how the outside technology merely to find the location of fish robots without specific sensor or internal devices for these fish robot. The model of the fish is designed to detect the position of the optical flow of the Robotic Fish in the Simulink through Matlab. This paper intends to recognize the shape of the tank via a video device such as a camera or camcorder using an image processing technique to identify the location of the robotic fish. Here, we are applied to the image comparing algorithm by using the average color weight algorithm method. In this, position coordinate system is used to find the position coordinates of the fish to identify the position of the Robotic fish. It was verified by the performance test of design robot.

  • 실내의 완벽 주행이 주요 목적인 청소로봇은 자기 위치를 인식 할 수 있어야한다. 자기 위치를 제대로 인식하지 못하게 된다면 청소할 방을 모두 돌지 못하고 방 청소를 마치게 된다. 청소로봇이 상용화 되기 위해서는 저렴한 가격의 보드를 선호한다. 이것은 현재 나온 복잡한 계산을 요구하는 알고리즘을 사용하지 못하거나 사용하여도 속도가 느린 문제를 가진다. 영상 프레임 처리 속도가 느릴 경우 처리되는 동안 로봇이 움직이지 못하여 부드러운 움직임을 불가능하게 한다. 본 논문은 저사양의 하드웨어에서 자기 인식을 할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 자기 인식을 하기 위해 처리 되어야 하는 전처리 과정과 전처리를 거친 데이터를 이용하여 자기 위치를 인식하도록 이동거리와 회전각을 계산하는 방법을 제안한다. 마지막으로 제안된 방법들을 이용하여 실제 이동 값과 비교, 분석한다.

  • A number of studies related to underwater robots are being conducted to utilize marine resources. However, unlike ordinary drones, underwater robots have a problem that it is not easy to locate because the medium is water, not air. The monitoring and positioning program of underwater robots, an existing study for identifying underwater locations, has difficulty in locating and monitoring in small spaces because it aims to be utilized in large spaces. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a three-dimensional positioning program for continuous monitoring and command delivery in small spaces. The proposed program consists of a multi-dimensional positioning monitoring function and a ability to control the path of travel through a three-dimensional screen so that the depth of the underwater robot can be identified. Through the performance evaluation, a robot underwater could be monitored and verified from various angles with a 3D screen, and an error within the assumed range was verified as the difference between the set path and the actual position is within 6.44 m on average.

  • For the purpose of next generation technology for robot perfomances, a RAoRA (Robot Actor on Robot Arm) structure was proposed using a robot arm joined with a humanoid robot actor. Mechanical analysis, machine design and fabrication were performed for motions combined with the robot arm and the humanoid robot actor. Kinematical analysis for 3D model, spline interpolation of positions, motion control algorithm and control devices were developed for movements of the robot actor. Preliminary visualization, simulation tools and integrated operation of consoles were constructed for the non-professionals to produce intuitive and safe contents. Air walk was applied to test the developed platform. The air walk is a natural walk close to a floor or slow ascension to the air. The RAoRA also executed a performance with 5 minute-running time. Finally, the proposed platform of robot performance presented intensive and live motions which was impossible in conventional robot performances.

  • Current physics-based simulation is an important tool in the fluid animation. However some problems require a new change to current research trends which depend only on the simulation. The ultimate goal of this project is to obtain information of flow example, analyze an example through machine learning and the novel fluid animation reconfigure without physical simulation.

  • As humanoid robot technology advances, the use of robots for performance is increasing. As a result, studies are being conducted to increase the scope of use of robots in performances by making them natural like humans. Among them, the use of motion capture technology is often used, and there are environmental inconveniences in preparing for motion capture, such as the need for IMU sensors or markers attached to each part of the body and precise high-performance cameras. In addition, for robots used in performance technology, there is a problem that they have to respond in real time depending on the unexpected situation or the audience's response. To make up for the above mentioned problems, in this paper, we proposed a real-time motion capture system by using a number of RGB-D cameras and creating natural robot motion similar to human motion by using motion-captured data.

  • Study of human-robot communication is one of the most important research areas. Among various communication media, any useful law we find in voice communication in human-human interactions, is significant in human-robot interactions too. Control strategy of most of such systems available at present is on/off control. These robots activate a function if particular word or phrase associated with that function can be recognized in the user utterance. Recently, there have been some researches on controlling robots using information rich fuzzy commands such as "go little slowly". However, in those works, although the voice command interpretation has been considered, learning from such commands has not been treated. In this paper, learning from such information rich voice commands for controlling a robot is studied. New concepts of the coach-player model and the sub-coach are proposed and such concepts are also demonstrated for a PA-10 redundant manipulator.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the architecture of the ubiquitous software robot platform (Sobot platform) based on Web 2.0. In order to provide a user with the personalized emotional service by transferring to any device without any time or geographical limitations, the software robot must be developed as a form of a platform based on the standardized data and structures. To verify the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed Sobot platform consisting of the terminal platform, the server platform, and the contents composer, we compose user-created emotional Sobot contents messages on heterogeneous platforms such as PC, a mobile phone, a PDA, and a web portal site and experiment a variety of Sobot transfer implementation between them.

  • We have researched and developed the caricature generation system PICASSO. PICASSO outputs the deformed facial caricature by comparing input face with prepared mean face. We specialized it as PICASSO-2 for exhibiting a robot at Aichi EXPO2005. This robot enforced by PICASSO-2 drew a facial caricature on the shrimp rice cracker with the laser pen. We have been recently exhibiting another revised robot characterized by a brush drawing. This system takes a couple of facial images with CCD camera, extracts the facial features from the images, and generates the facial caricature in real time. We experimentally evaluated the performance of the caricatures using a lot of data taken in Aichi EXPO2005. As a result it was obvious that this system were not sufficient in accuracy of eyebrow region extraction and mouth detection. In this paper, we propose the improved methods for eyebrow region extraction and mouth detection.
