  • Map Matching is the method for correcting the current position from dead reckoning in Car Navigation System. In this paper, we proposed the new map matching algorithm that can correct the positioning error caused by sensors and digital map data around the cross road area. To do this, first we set the error boundary of the cross road area by combining the relative error of moving distance and the absolute error of road length, second, we find out the starting point of turning within the determined error boundary of the cross point area, third, we compare the turning angle of the car to the angle of each possible road, and the last, we decide the matched road. We used wheel sensor as a speed sensor and used optical fiber gyro as a directional sensor, and assembled the sensors to the notebook computer. We testified our algorithm by driving the Daejeon area-which is a part of south Korea-as a test area. And we proved the efficiency by doing that.

  • Software structure must be dynamic to support new geospatial information sources and their object-oriented implementation on the Web. JAVA is interactive, platform idependent and object-oriented language and meets all needs on Internet GSIS. This paper introduce JAVA based GIS program to manipulates various geographic data on Internet, communicating interactively and transfer real-time data between server and client. This and this program analysis roof detector in all part of Pusan area and indicates the traffic states, road surface conditions, weather information, shortest cut, and road names in JAVA client windows. Also this study shows various techniques in expression real time traffic informations.

  • As the use of GIS becomes more widespread, the quality and source of data is becoming more of a concern among users. But accuracy is a component of quality, and the positional accuracy is a component of total accuracy. If only we consider the positional accuracy, simultaneously collecting technology of location and attribute information, whether it be manually, using conventional surveying method, GPS, or remote sensing, is a practical way of insuring that location and attribute information are correctly correlated. This study analyse the positional accuracy from a view-point of user and supplier, which is the considerations that can ensure quality level and continuously maintain the road and underground utility information. The positional accuracy of road and underground utility information are considered as two categories - expected accuracy of data collection procedure, required accuracy of data usage process. And the project manager must consider the cost/benefit view of data generation in order to determine the surveying method.

  • Recently, the studies on the extraction of 3-dimension position information and attribute information of ground surface using LiDAR data. LiDAR data has high locational accuracy, and advantage that can process data more fast because there's not coordinate transform when acquire of Data justly the ground coordinate by Acquiring. The paper using only LiDAR data Manufacture road, building, contour That occupy a many parts of Digital Map. Estimated for possibility of Digital mapping using only LiDAR data As that compare accuracy with Digital map.

  • Currently, the previous studies on the concept, configuration, and system regarding spacial information policies show the little progress. However, these studies only propose the basic structure system in terms of a policy theory, seeking and suggesting the basic concept to establish spacial information policies. In the shift of a new paradigm from a PC-based paradigm that began in the mid-2000s to the current smart society based on mobile devises, such as smart phones, this study thus reviewed the strategic direction of the propulsion to establish the desired future strategy for the spatial technology policy with spatial information system that can influence the future national competitiveness of Korea. The results of this study is expected to be used to analyze a variety of issues and technological changes on geospatial intelligence at the global level and to support the establishment of a road-map for policies and research & development on domestic geospatial information.

  • This study estimated the delay factor, which is the ratio of travel time at the speed limit and travel time at the actual speed using real-time traffic information in Seoul. The actual travel speed on the road was lower than the maximum speed of the road and the travel speed was the slowest during the rush hour. As a result of accessibility analysis based on travel speed during the rush hour, the travel time at the actual speed was 37.49 minutes on average. However, the travel time at the speed limit was 15.70 minutes on average. This result indicated that the travel time at the actual speed is 2.4 times longer than that at the speed limit. In addition, this study proposedly defined the delay factor as the ratio of accessibility by the speed limit and accessibility to actual travel speed. As a result of delay factor analysis, the delay factor of Seoul was 2.44. The results by the administrative district showed that the delay factor in the north part areas of the Han River is higher than her south part areas. Analysis results after applying the relationship between road density and traffic volume showed that as the traffic volume with road density increased, the delay factor decreased. These results indicated that it could not be said that heavy traffic caused longer travel time. Therefore, follow-up research is needed based on more detailed information such as road system shape, road width, and signal system for finding the exact cause of increased travel time.

  • This study was aimed at suggest a proper planning method to select a optimal forest road network in mountains forest using GIS(Geographic Information System). To examine the field applicability, the method was applied to the National Forest at Mt. Kumsan in Namhae-gun, Gyungsangnam-do. The main results from altogether six alternative road route plans were derived from these criteria obtained the alternative route plan No.2 has two layout criteria, longitudinal gradient and earth work volume, and it showed similar pattern of existing forest road network which was designed mainly ground slope and longitudinal gradient. The alternative route plan No.6 has four criteria, longitudinal gradient, earth work volume, investment effect and landscape impact. It was different for the lowest forest road density among the alternatives and the pattern of the forest road layout was radial form, which was also quite different to other alternatives. For optimal forest road network planning, GIS provide the efficient and resonable solutions for decision making to provide the support for evaluation about various alternative road networks. If detailed inventory and relevant data are provided and also clear and objective indicators for evaluations are set up, it could be applied to preliminary analysis and detail planning stage to prevent undesirable effect such the land slide and soil erosion due to inadequate planning for forest road network.

  • With the growth of cities, there is a nero today for construction of outer road of cities but there are many problems in executing the scheme. In this study 5 kilos' distance, a part of the first section from East Kwangju I.C. in 36kilos' distance, the road circling Other Kwangju city is determined as the object of this study and illustrated by GIS. Besides that, the landscape which is varied according to survey location is illustrated each section by using data such as plans and 1he planed height. and the area for this study which is circling around Mt. Mudeung, a noted in Kwangju city is represented by GIS.

  • Geo-spatial information system technology and cartographic modeling techniques were used as a way to Improve the land use planning process. Off-road vehicle(ORV) trails, timber harvest sites, timber haul mads and wildlife ruffed grouse habitats areas should be allocated together in the Wayne National Forest in the United States. Automated spatial cartographic models were developed to resolve the conflicts of the multiple land use allocation. The techniques of descriptive and prescriptive modeling made the multiple land use allocation efficient and effective.
