Exploring Strategies for Implementing Hydrogen Society Based on Psychological Attitudes towards Hydrogen Fuel: Focused on Risk Perception, Familiarity and Acceptability (수소에너지에 대한 심리적 태도 기반의 수소사회 활성화 전략방안: 위험성, 친숙성, 수용성 중심으로)

  • In these day, the environmental issues of climate change have been continuously highlighted and there is an active discussion on the transition from fossil fuel-based energy to eco-friendly energy use. This study considered psychological attitudes as a major influencing factors for successful implementation of a hydrogen society totally based on the use of hydrogen energy, which is regarded as an alternative energy for future. Accordingly, familiarity, risk perception, and acceptability of psychological factors were investigated. In addition, this study identified whether there are differences in psychological factors according to the general characteristics of gender, age, occupation, and housing type. The results showed that awareness of hydrogen cars and fuels is below the average level, and we also have obtained the implication that social knowledge sharing should precede the implementation of hydrogen policy. Although we found that the degree of urban acceptance of hydrogen energy was high, it was also confirmed that the charging infrastructure was generally perceived as having a high risk. Our findings implicate that it is necessary to figure out policy strategies for suitable locating charging infrastructure in order to promote the use of hydrogen energy more.

  • The recent budget planning for highway infrastructure implied that the investments for Operation & Maintenance(O&M) became greater than that for new construction. This circumstance made many stakeholders pay attention to the O&M of road infrastructure and adopt other countries' policies and system for effective management. In other countries, most O&M for road infrastructure have been done by private entities using long-term contract and Korea is about to shift from one year contract to long-term contract. The most important parts for the expansion of the long-term O&M contract for road infrastructure are valuation of the O&M contract based on accurate prediction of O&M costs and instrument for proper risk sharing between contracting parties. Thus, this study provides a methodology to estimate a reasonable O&M contract price and a framework to share contract risk between contracting parties using real option. The analysis results showed that the contract price and ceiling and floor conditions for the 20 year-contract of 20 km-highway project were 45.7, 60 and 42.3 billion won, respectively.

College Student's Knowledge and Attitudes toward AIDS in Taegu and Kyungbook areas (대구 경북 지역 일부 대학생들의 에이즈에 대한 지식과 태도 조사)

  • Given the global impact of the AIDS pandemic, it is necessary to take every measure to prevent an epidemic of this disease in Korea. The only available strategy is prevention. Considering college students as a potential risk group, this study examined their knowledge of, and attitudes toward AIDS. In this study, a self-report questionnaire was administered to 167 students from three colleges in Taegu and Kyungbook province area. Findings indicated that most of the students had lacked knowledge about the AIDS. While knowledge about the modes of transmission and prevention improved, some respondents still believed that AIDS could be transmitted by sharing cups (17.4%), by coughing or sneezing(29.3%), and by moskito (25.7%). About 10% of the students reported that they had received some instruction about AIDS, and 87.3% indicated a desire to know more about the disease. Most of the students reported that they obtained AIDS information from media devices such as TV and newspaper. To the questions designed to examine attitude towards AIDS patients, the students showed a tendency to view AIDS patients as responsible for their own illness (85.6%). Interestingly, they showed sympathy to their imaginary friends and relatives suffering from AIDS (78.4%-90.2%). Eighty percercent of the respondents felt that they personally were not at risk. The study findings suggest a need for the development of AIDS educational programs for college students.

  • The trade portal site is one of the innovative skills which makes it possible for trade companies to manage international trade activities more efficiently by using the newest information technology. Especially, trade portal site can be considerable help to small and medium-sized enterprises which have much difficulties in finding overseas buyers due to the lack of international marketing capabilities. This study attempts to present a comprehensive model about the determinants of e-Trust in domestic trade portal site and to suggest practical strategies for e-Trade. Therefore, a theoretical framework was presented by the literature review, and a empirical study was carried out through a questionnaire survey to those who have had experiences of visiting trade portal site. The empirical analysis had the following results. First, it reveals that reputation, web-site quality, transaction efficiency of the trade portal site have influence upon e-Trust dimension. On the other hand, perceived risk did not have significant relationship with e-Trust. Second, e-Trust had significant impact on willingness to depend on the trade portal site. And also, e-Trust had positive influence on performance of using which is measured by sales increase, information sharing, and synergy effect.

Familial Clustering and Its Associated Factors in Carriers of Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (B형 간염의 가족집적성과 전파경로에 관한 연구)

  • To evaluate the possible route of intrafamilial transmission among carriers of hepatitis B surface antigen ($HB_sAg$), epidemiologic and serologic data were obtained on 107 household contacts of 35 carriers of HBsAg and on 71 household contacts of 25 controls who were negative for serologic markers of hepatitis B virus. The HBsAg prevalence was 26.5% among the contacts of carriers compared to 0.0% among the contacts of controls. And the combined prevalence for all hepatitis markers was 48.5% among the contacts of carriers compared to 26.0% among the contacts of controls(p<0.05). Especially the offspring of carriers showed significantly higher risk in the combined prevalence for all hepatitis markers (p<0.05). There were no significant relationship between HBV infection and past history like acupuncture, transfusion, operation and tattooed. Factors associated with the risk of intrafamilial transmission of HBV were not found in the sharing of household articles such as razor, towel, drinking glass, nail clippers, toothbrush and tableware.

  • 모든 도시가 발전하고 번창하기 위해서는 핵심기반시설의 재난 및 안전이 선제적으로 확보되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 환경핵심기반시설을 중심으로 지역사회가 지속 가능한 녹색도시로 거듭나기 위해 재난준비태세 증진에 실제 활용 가능한 위험지도를 드론에 장착한 LiDAR 센서를 통해 수집한 고도 데이터를 바탕으로 제작하였다. 나아가 지진과 같은 재난 발생 시 시설에서부터 확산하는 관리 오염물의 경로 및 범위를 시범 모의하여, 기능 연속성 계획 및 재난대응 가이드와 연계를 하는 방안을 제시함으로 지자체 중심의 통합적 지역사회의 노력이 발현될 수 있도록 기초적 연구를 진행하고, 전략적 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 끊임없는 성장과 거듭되는 개발로 인해 변화하는 도시의 형상에 따라 리스크를 최신화하여 대응력을 높이고, 이해관계자들에게 시각화된 재난 범위 모의를 제시함으로써 지역사회와 지자체 역량에 따른 협력적 재난대응태세에 필요한 프레임워크 도출 및 계획수립을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 큰 의의를 지닌다. 또한, 각 영역별 전문가들의 자문을 통하여 본 논문에서 제시된 확산 모의의 방법론이 타당함을 확인하였다. 무엇보다 모호한 "가능한 신속한 자원관리"와 같은 추상적인 대응계획이 아닌, 객관적인 재난자원관리계획을 수립할 수 있게 함으로써 추후 국가적 재난 및 안전역량을 계량화시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Korean perspective for integrated deterministic-probabilistic safety assessment and its synergetic strategy with conventional methods

  • The PSA (Probabilistic Safety Assessment) is presented as a method of comprehensively evaluating the types of accidents that can occur at nuclear power plants. One of the key components to obtain technical success was the introduction of event tree analysis, and its strength and weakness has been reviewed and enhanced with the term, for instance, Integrated Deterministic-Probabilistic Safety Assessment (IDPSA) since 1980s. However, the technical and policy maturity of IDPSA appears to have room for improvement: the terminologies need to be arranged internationally, and there are no official standards or guidelines for the method itself. Due to a misperception of IDPSA, there are even concerns that appropriate contribution in risk assessment cannot be made. For this reason, surveys and focus group interviews, sharing development experiences, and the direction of regulation and R&D on IDPSA were conducted targeting PSA experts in Korea. In order to support such process, authors have structured an overview of the development history and technical features of IDPSA. Finally, we will explore the ways to achieve synergy between the deterministic safety analysis and PSA, which may the origin of motivation how to deal with dynamic variability more properly such that an undue risk can be minimized.

An Analysis on Situation and Causes of Strategic Alliance Major Container Liner Company in the World (세계 주요 컨테이너 해운기업의 전략적 제휴의 현황과 그 생성원인에 관한 연구)

  • From the beginning of 1990s , also in the shipping industry, especially liner shipping industry competition has been more intensive and difference of the service quality among shipping companies has been learned . On the other hand, a shipping company has some limitations to do its international mission for itself just by broadening service area. For this reason, the necessity for the global strategi alliance among the shipping companies, which is orginally aimed at sharing of facilities and organixation, has been developed. Through strategic alliance, liner shipping companies do not need to input the additional capitals to increase the material assets such as vessel capacity and spread the risk by the enlargement of the market. Also, they can secure the competitive edge through efficient utilizaton of assets. The purpose of strategic alliance of Hanjin Shipping Ltd., can be summarized as follows ; broadening of service area, cost reduction through vessel sharing, realization of rationalized shipping service by terminal and equipment or facilities sharing. Liner strategic alliances are agreement among liner companies to pol their equipment , andterminals for joint operations and services in which each alliance partner continues to serve its market using jointly operated or used inland feeders,inland terminals, port terminals, and mainline fleets of ship as well as joint pools of containers and equipment. Strategic alliances are generally more formal agreements than consortia and impose longer term and far reaching obligation on their members. It also acts as one in developing and advancing the strategic aims of the alliance members. The most important objective for liner strategic alliances is cost reduction and improvement in capital asset utilization. Main aims of strategic alliance drawn in this paper, can be enumerated follows : 1. improvements in service frequency and quality : 2. improvements in vessel and equipment utilization and thereby reductions in fixed and variable cost ; 3. improvements in market shares and high value cargo booking ; 4. reductions in intermodal storage and port terminal throughput costs ; 5. improvements in negotiating powers with ports and feeder transport providers ; 6. reduction in financial and other fixed costs such as insurance; 7. coordination and integration of MIS and EDI systems and service for greater efficiency and market penetration ; and, 8. improvements in logistic chain management and economic of scale by equipment depot, terminal, and vessel sharing.

The Effect of Perceived Information Control on the Knowledge Sharing Intention of the Social Network Service Users (인지된 정보 통제가 소셜 네트워크 이용자의 정보 제공 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The evolution of IT facilitated the communication and knowledge sharing between the social network service (SNS) users. When the more information about SNS users had been posted in SNS site, SNS users had sometimes exposed in the risk of privacy invasion. To remedy this problem, we had introduced the information control mechanisms from the prior studies in data management to the SNS area and empirically validated the effect of these mechanisms in this research. Three information control mechanisms had been elected as access control, reference control and diffusion control. We had conducted a survey to the Facebook users which is the most famous SNS site. 459 data had been gathered and analyzed by PLS algorism. As the results, reference control and diffusion control has significantly increased the trust on SNS providers and decrease the privacy concern. This change could significantly affect on the satisfaction with the SNS site and knowledge sharing intention of SNS users. This study could introduce the new perspective about privacy protection issues in SNS area. Also, the information control mechanisms suggested in this study could contribute to make more robust privacy protection mechanisms in SNS site in practice.

A Study on the Identification and Improvement of Risk Factors by Region through Case analysis of Safety report in the ROKAF Integrated Air Conrtrol Management System (공군 항공관제통합관리체계 내(內) 안전보고 사례분석을 통한 지역(기지)별 위해요인 식별 및 개선 연구)

  • This study aims to analyze safety reports received through the recently added SMS safety self-report in the Air Force's "integrated air control management" system, identify hazards, present improvements by region (base), and lay the foundation for future data-based safety management. To identify risk factors, it was first classified by base based on data classified into 16 groups in the autonomous reporting system, and second classified in detail based on the type and description. Risk factors were analyzed for the most reported control cooperation (306) items, and improvements were derived by dividing risk factors into information sharing, regulations, procedures, education, training, and equipment items based on the analysis results. It was confirmed that risk factors and specific improvements vary by base (12), which is important data that can present statistical analysis and the direction of safety management in the flight control field by base (region). In addition, since there is no data-based risk factor analysis study for each specific base (region), it can be used in the future as basic research data for data-oriented safety management.
