In this paper, we study in Banach spaces the existence of fixed points of asymptotically regular mapping T satisfying: for each x, y in the domain and for n=1, 2,…, $$\parallelT^nx-T^ny\parallel\leq$\leq$a_n\parallelx-y\parallel+b_n (\parallelx-T^nx\parallel+\parallely-T^ny\parallely)$$ where $a_n,\; b_n,\; C_n$ are nonnegative constants satisfying certain conditions. We also establish some fixed point theorems for these mappings in a Hibert space, in L(sup)p spaces, in Hardy space H(sup)p, and in Soboleve space $H^{k,p} for 1<\rho<\infty \; and \; k\geq0$. We extend results from papers [10], [11], and others.

Second-order-rate constants ($k_N$) have been measured spectrophotometrically for the reactions of 4-nitrophenyl 2-thiophenecarboxylate (1a) with a series of secondary alicyclic amines in H2O containing 20 mole % DMSO at 25.0 $^{\circ}C$ . The ester 1a is less reactive than 4-nitrophenyl 2-furoate (1b) but more reactive than 4-nitrophenyl benzoate (1c) except towards piperazinium ion. The Brønsted-type plots for the aminolyses of 1a, 1b and 1c are linear with a $\beta$nuc value of 0.92, 0.84 and 0.85, respectively, indicating that the replacement of the CH=CH group by a sulfur or an oxygen atom in the benzoyl moiety of 1c does not cause any mechanism change. The reaction of piperidine with a series of substituted phenyl 2-thiophenecarboxylates gives a linear Hammett plot with a large $\rho^-$ value ($\rho^-$ = 3.11) when $\sigma^- $ constants are used. The linear Brønsted and Hammett plots with large $\beta$nuc and $\rho^-$ values suggest that the aminolysis of 1a proceeds via rate-determining break-down of the addition intermediate to the products.

When the LMS algorithm is employed in the transversal filter structure, the computational complexity can be kept reasonably low. However, if the impulse response to be estimated is very long or signals involved are highly correlated like a speech the convergence speed becomes slow. The lattice filter is an excellent alternative to improve convergence speed since the lattice structure inherently has the orthogonal property among the backward prediction errors, but at the expense of the excessive computational load. If the input signal to be used can be sufficiently well modeled as a .RHO.-th order autoregressive(AR) process, the reflection coefficients after the .RHO.- th stage will be close to zero. Then, instead of employing the full lattice structure, the joint lattice filter structure can be implemented in conjunction with the transversal filter structure after the .RHO.-th stage. We propose, in this paper, this new lattice/transversal joint structure, and we will call it the reduced lattice filter. Using the reduced lattice filter, we are now able to achieve the performance as good as that of the lattice filter, while maintaining the complexity as low as that of the transversal filter. The proposed filter is particularly useful for an acoustic echo canceller due to the highly correlatedness nature of speeches and the long and frequently changing echo paths.

We present the results of the investigations of high dispersion spectra of two stars. These are the eclipsing binary RR Lyn, and $\rho$ Pup - the prototype of the group of pulsating variables. The spectra were obtained at 1.8 m Bohyuunsan observatory telescope, and 8.2 m VLT. We found the chemical composition. The both components of RR Lyn are Am stars (metallic line stars), but the abundance patterns of the components are not similar - the iron abundance and the abundances of other elements are surely different. For few elements the differences exceeds 1 dex. We found the abundances of 56 chemical elements in the atmosphere of $\rho$ Pup. This is one of the best stellar abundance patterns. It permits to investigate the role of the charge-exchange reactions in stellar atmospheres. These reactions can produce the abundance anomalies in the atmospheres of B-F type stars. These reactions can be one of the sources of galactic cosmic rays, and the reason of the braked rotation of A-F type chemically peculiar stars.

In this article, we prove various properties and some Liouville type theorems for quasi-strongly p-harmonic maps. We also describe conditions that quasi-strongly p-harmonic maps become p-harmonic maps. We prove that if $\phi$ : $M\;\longrightarrow\;N$ is a quasi-strongly p-harmonic map (\rho\; $\geq\;2$) from a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold M of nonnegative Ricci curvature into a Riemannian manifold N of non-positive sectional curvature such that the $(2\rho－2)$-energy, $E_{2p-2}(\phi)$ is finite, then $\phi$ is constant.

For an inhomogeneous superconductor, we reveal a relation of an observed superconducting gap, $\Delta$$_{obs}$ and the intrinsic true gap, $\Delta$$_{i}$, $\Delta$$_{obs}$(equation omitted) where band filling, 0＜$\rho$<$\leq$1. $\Delta$$_{obs}$ is the effect of measurement when 0＜$\rho$＜1. The true gap is observed only when $\rho$=1. Parring symmetry analyzed by a coherence-peak shape of density of states, observed in B $i_2$S $r_2$CaC $u_2$ $O_{8}$＋$\chi$ superconductors, is s- wave.X> $O_{8}$＋$\chi$ superconductors, is s- wave. wave.
