A Study on Evaluation of Service Quality in the Retail Industry using the 6 sigma (6 시그마를 이용한 국내 유통산업의 서비스품질 평가에 관한 연구)

  • There have been various papers about service quality. This article is one of them. This is about the measurement of service quality in the competitive structure between department and discount store. In this paper, we tried to measure the service quality and overall satisfaction by using 6 sigma, degree of combination and top2box which is a little bit different methodology from traditional ones. The data were collected by the internet survey from 1428 and 1605 department and discount store customers respectively. The result shows the different patterns in the each retail industry. Also, there is a significant difference in terms of sigma level in the each retail industry. Finally, we showed the summarized result as the 6 Sigma Portfolio Matrix.

An Objective method of risk assessment based on RAM analysis for warship (함정 분야의 RAM분석 기반 위험평가 방안)

  • Purpose: This study suggests a method of risk assessment based on RAM analysis in order to reduce the subjectivity. Methods: RAM analysis is used to assessment risk consequence(RC) and risk likelihood(RL). Result: The calculated result of the product, which has higher risk assessment, shows lower MTBF system. Conclusion: Risk assessment based on objective database will provide objectivity and effective quality control.

  • This study closely examines quality management's realities which manufacturing firms have and effective result controls access formula by comparison and analysis on the product of introduction quality control realities and quality management of manufacturing firms in Chollabukdo. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, this research was progressed as order of literature review and survey. After literature review this study drew up questionnaire on the basis of foregoing literature and executed survey on manufacturing business taking TQM(Total Quality Management) in Chollado's area. The result of analysis are as follows. First, according to the analysis manufacturing of industry's realities, investment in TQM techniques seems to contribute to the performance of manufacturing firms, but most of manufacturing firms quality control do not have strategic orientations. Conseqently, general and strategic quality management system suitable for the realities of manufacturing industry are required. Second, It seems that manufacturing industry didn't recognize strategic importance for competitive advantage. Namely, It was found that firms with less TQM executed non-strategic quality management, compared with firms more TQM.

  • Generally there is a technical gap for the image data quality between from the satellite requirement values and from the users. After Cal/Val for KOMPSAT-3 had been done by Dec. 31, 2012, all requirements for KOMPSAT-3 image data quality have been validated, and then the normal operation of it started from Jan. 2013. In the normal period, the image data quality for the users has been defined and managed, and according to the result of it, the additional Cal/Val items have been doing. Cal/Val team and Processing team in KARI made the quality report (QR) for KOMPSAT-3 image data quality for the users, and have determined the quality level of KOMPSAT-3 product generated by Processing system (PMS; Product Management System) and managed the quality report for it. According to the result of the quality report, Cal/Val team defined six additional Cal/Val items, and has done five items of them and has been implementing the result of them into the Processing system.

  • To date, SCM research has mainly focused on the effects of controlled variables on SCM success and emphasized adoption strategies and critical success factors. Consequently, the effects of more uncontrolled variables such as partnership between SCM partners have been largely ignored. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to examine the effects of both controlled variables and uncontrolled variables on SCM performance through affecting RTE characteristics. The six factors examined in this study include Quality of information, partnership quality, Forecasting, Agility, Visibility, and SCM performance. In this study, SCM Performance was divided into three categories: Quality Performance, Cost Performance, Delivery Performance. All factors were examined from the perspective of part suppliers. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, SCM information quality positively affected SCM partnership quality, Forecasting, Agility, Visibility. Second, SCM partnership quality positively affected Forecasting, Agility. But, SCM partnership quality showed no significant effect on Visibility. Third, Forecasting had a significant impact on SCM performance. According to the detailed result of measuring SCM performance with Quality Performance, Cost Performance, Delivery Performance, although Forecasting affects Cost Performance, Delivery Performance directly, it does not affect Quality Performance directly. Fourth, Agility also had a significant impact on SCM performance. According to the detailed result of measuring SCM performance, Agility has significant impact on Quality Performance, Cost Performance, Delivery Performance. Fifth, Visibility, as expected, had a significant impact on SCM performance. According to the detailed result of measuring SCM performance, Visibility has significant impact on Quality Performance, Cost Performance, Delivery Performance.

  • The Development of GPS practical using and systematic fixing for GPS Quality Control System on On-Line. Developed the program that can prove GPS quality about GPS permanent observation stations or user GPS data in server client system environment of Web-Based objectively Developed Save-module of graph display of analysis result data and reporter form.   • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the service of employees in the foodservice industry and their customers' satisfaction. The study surveyed 310 subjects who are the employees of companies in Busan, Ulsan, City and Gyeongsangnam-do and processed the result using SPSS for Win V. 12. 0. For statistical analysis, Frequency, Factor Analysis and Regression were put into operation. As a result of Factor Analysis on the quality of company food-service, six factors have been extracted. The result of the Factor Analysis of satisfaction revealed one factor. In conclusion, this study shows that the quality of foodservice - food, convenience, menu, kindness, hygiene/cleanliness, facilities - had a positive effect on users' satisfaction. It is expected that the results will provide a base for marketing strategies to be used by the managers and marketers in foodservice companies.

The IPA of Multilateral Perception on Foodservice Quality of Hospital Funeral Centers : Focusing on Foodservice Operators, Chief mourners/the bereave and Funeral Visitors (의료기관 장례식장 급식품질의 다자간 인식차이 및 IPA 분석: 장례식장 급식운영 담당자, 상주 및 유족, 조문객을 중심으로)

  • This study identified the importance and performance perceptions of funeral foodservice service quality toward funeral foodservice employees, chief mourners/the bereaved and funeral visitors. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from 102 funeral foodservice employees, 71 chief mourners/the bereaved and 293 funeral visitors. According to the result of the survey, 'hygienic food production process' was recognized as the most important attribute while 'neat appearance of food' had the least performance. By comparing the importance of service quality attributes between three subject groups, it can be identified funeral foodservice employees had the highest recognition while funeral visitors had the lowest (p<0.001). Furthermore, funeral foodservice employees had a significantly high performance level compared to chief mourners/the bereaved in all 19 service quality attributes (p<0.001). The IPA result toward funeral foodservice employees indicated the following attributes that required improvements: 'reasonable menu price' and 'kindness of helpers'. Another IPA result from chief mourners/the bereaved recognized 'reasonable menu price' as a service priority. Overall, implications for funeral foodservice managers regarding service quality improvement are discussed.

A Study on the Quality of Life for Home Care Nursing Patient (가정간호대상자의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose : This study purposed to conduct a comprehensive survey of home care nursing clients' quality of life based on the PRECEDE model. Method : This study selected 74 home care nursing clients registered at a university hospital in Incheon and performed face-to-face interviews by structured questionnaire. The research period was two months from the $2^{nd}$ of February to the $30^{th}$ of March in 2004. Result : According to the result of assessment at each stage of the PRECEDE model, home care nursing clients' quality of life was 13.88 out of 25 points, health level 15.22 out of 21, abilities to perform activities of daily living 29.26 out of 100, cognitive abilities 16.00 out of 30, social support 13.68 out of 20, and satisfaction with home care nursing service 33.26 out of 40. According to the result of stepwise regression in order to identify factors influencing home care nursing clients' quality of life, social support and abilities of daily living were found to be significant variables among the characteristics of each assessment stage. Conclusion : It is necessary to develop nursing intervention strategies for strengthening social support and enhancing abilities to perform activities of daily living in order to improve home nursing clients' quality of life.

A Study on the Relationship of the Loneliness, Self-esteem, and Quality of Life on the Hearing Disturbance Aged (청력 장애 노인들의 고독감, 자아 존중감 및 삶의 질과의 관계연구)

  • This study as a cross survey study was conducted to provide basic data for more practical approach to nursing the aged, by analyzing the relationship of the loneliness, self-esteem and quality of life on the hearing disturbance aged. This study was based on the survey data from the 90 aged, who are over sity years old and resident in Seoul. In order to measure the general characteristics and subjective audition, Cantril's Ladder Scale Tool was used. For the loneliness, UCLA Loneliness Scale Tool (translated into Korean to suit the Korean environment by Kim's). In order to measure the self-esteem, Rosenberg's Self-esteem Measurement Tool (translated into Korean by Chun) was used. No's Quality of Life Measurement Tool was used to the measure the quality of life. The Data were collected by direct interviewing on the subjects for this study from August 10, 1999 to September 15, 1999. In accordance with each purpose of this study, appropriate analyzing methods such as Descriptive Statistics, T-test, and ANOVA were used in analyzing the collected data. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to test the relationship of the loneliness, self-esteem and quality of life on the hearing disturbance aged. The result of this study is as follows: 1) The average of the degrees of subjective audition was 7.22, The factors that cause the result were sex, religion, the perception of health, the married state. 2) The average of the degrees of loneliness was 55.18, The factor that cause the result was the perception of health. 3) The average of the degrees of self-esteem was 28.42, The factors that cause the result were the number of family, the number of children, the perception of health. 4) The average of the degrees of quality of life was 71.87 the factors that cause the result were age, education, the number of children, the perception of health. 5) Correlation of Loneliness, self-esteem and quality of life is the perception of loneliness showed significant negative correlation with self-esteem (r=-.466, p=.0001) and quality of life (r=-.450, p=.0001). As a result of analysis above: Because of the recognition change of the aged, it seems to them that the subjective audition scale on the hearing disturbance aged is measured by only 10-point ladder scale is inappropriate. Therefore, it is necessary that the physiologic-index can confirm more exactly should be applied to them. It is very important that the social-psychological factor that has influence on the aged should be the self-perception of health. Thus, proper development of nursing intervention should be required to process in the self-perception of health on the aged.
