  • In this study, the effect of the time step specified in a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation on load response is analyzed and the drag coefficients of the floating body of floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) are estimated. By evaluating the error in the FOWT load response and the change in the drag-coefficient values based on the density of the time intervals, this study aims to establish a time-interval setting that minimizes the time and cost of CFD simulations for selecting drag-coefficient values. Practical CFD utilization strategies necessary for the calibration of medium-to high-fidelity analysis tools are presented. Based on a comparative analysis of CFD simulations conducted at various time intervals, the results confirmed that under a certain time interval that sufficiently considers various factors, the accuracy of the FOWT response with respect to density shows minimal differences, thereby providing an efficient utilization method for CFD simulations in FOWT design and analysis.

Moderating Effect of General Self-Efficacy on the Relationship between Pregnancy Stress, Daily Hassles Stress, and Preterm Birth Risk in Women Experiencing Preterm Labor: A Cross-Sectional Study

  • Purpose: This study investigated the moderating role of general self-efficacy (GSE) on how stress caused by pregnancy and daily hassle affect the risk of preterm birth (PTB) in women experiencing preterm labor. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 196 pregnant women experiencing preterm labor before 37 weeks of gestation. We used IBM SPSS Statistics 27 and employed Hayes process macro version 4 (model 1) and hierarchical regression to analyze the moderating effect of GSE on the relationship between pregnancy stress, daily hassle stress, and PTB risk. Results: Stress caused by pregnancy and daily hassle was positively correlated to PTB risk (r = .54, p < .001; r = .25, p < .001, respectively). While GSE did not significantly correlate with pregnancy stress, it negatively correlated with daily hassle stress (r = - .19, p = .009). GSE significantly moderated the relationship between combined stressors and PTB risk. As GSE levels increased, escalation in PTB risk in response to increasing stress levels was a more pronounced, highlighting a complex interaction between higher GSE levels and response to escalating stress levels. This model accounted for 39.5% of the variance in the PTB risk. Conclusion: Higher GSE may amplify the impact of stress on PTB risk, rather than mitigate it, which suggests a more nuanced role of GSE in the stress response of pregnant women at risk of preterm labor. GSE should be considered in care strategies, and managing its impact on stress perception and responses in pregnant women is crucial.

  • 위기 커뮤니케이션에 있어 SNS를 비롯한 뉴미디어 활용의 중요성이 강조되고 있지만 구체적인 활용 방안에 대한 고찰과 논의는 부족한 실정이다. 이 연구는 지난 해 논란이 되었던 식약처의 '파라벤 치약' 사례를 중심으로 정부의 위기관리 체계를 커뮤니케이션 관점에서 살펴봄으로써, 위기 시 대언론관계 관리와 뉴미디어의 역할에 대해 실무적 함의를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 연구는 정책 이슈의 확산 과정을 SNS 중심의 의제설정 관점에서 살펴보고, 정책결정과정의 주요 참여자인 정부, 언론, 국민들이 정부의 위기 상황에서 어떤 메시지를 생산하였는지 비교하였다. 이를 위해 파라벤 치약 이슈가 논란이 되었던 한 달여 동안의 사건 전개 과정을 4단계로 구분하고, 단계별로 식약처의 해명 자료와 주요 언론의 보도 기사(총 45건), 관련 트윗(총 645건)을 텍스트 분석, 어절 분석, 네트워크 분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 정부, 언론, 국민이 생산한 메시지를 분석한 결과를 토대로 식약처의 위기 커뮤니케이션에 있어서의 문제점에 대해 논의하고, 위기 발생 시 정부의 대언론 관계 관리 및 뉴미디어 활용 방안을 제시하였다.

여성전문병원의 고객관계관리(CRM)가 고객충성도에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Customer Relationship Management on Customer Loyalty among Patients Visiting a Woman's Hospital)

  • Although a variety of customer relationship management (CRM) activities have been provided by many hospitals in Korea, there lacks empirical evidence on the effect of CRM. The present study was conducted to examine the effect of CRM in terms of the customer response to CRM in a woman's hospital setting. A total of 380 patients receiving inpatient or outpatient care from woman's hospital between October 25 and November 4, 2005 were surveyed for the degree of their experience of and preference for CRM activities of the hospital by 5-point Likert-type scale. Patients were also asked about the level of customer loyalty to the hospital. Eighteen CRM activities offered by the hospital was classified into 4 types of CRM strategies according to Berry and Parasuranman: price, social, structural, and relationship recovery strategy. There's a significant positive correlation between the degree of experience of CRM and preference for CRM(r=0.49, p<0.001). Regression analysis results showed the significant positive relationship between the degree of experience of CRM and customer loyalty(${\beta}$=0.448, p<0.05). Among the 4 CRM strategies, only social(${\beta}$=0.127, p<0.05) and structural strategy(${\beta}$=0.266, p<0.05) showed signifiant positive relationship with customer loyalty. Overall, the favorable customer response to CRM in terms of preference for CRM and customer loyalty indicates that there's a positive effect of CRM on the continuity of the relationship between patients and health care providers.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 스포츠 스폰서십의 부정적인 효과와 이에 대한 대응방안을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 유명 스포츠인과 관련한 부정적인 사건이 발생하였을 때 유명 스포츠인의 책임수준이 소비자들이 유명 스포츠인과 해당 보증인이 광고하는 제품에 대해 가지는 태도에 미치는 영향력을 확인하고자한다. 또한, 유명 스포츠인의 책임수준이 유명 스포츠인과 제품에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향력에 있어서 대응 전략의 조절효과를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 대학생 총 135명을 대상으로 가상의 시나리오를 포함하는 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 이 중 126부를 분석에 이용하였다. 가설 검증을 위해 분산분석을 실시한 결과, 부정적 사건이 발생하였을 때 유명 스포츠인의 책임수준이 높을수록 실험참가자들은 유명 스포츠인과 해당 유명 스포츠인이 광고하는 제품에 대해 부정적인 태도를 형성하는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 조절효과 분석결과, 부정적 사건에 대한 유명 스포츠인의 책임수준이 유명 스포츠인과 제품에 대해 미치는 영향력은 대응전략의 유형에 따른 유의미한 차이를 보여주었다.

  • 경찰은 범정부적 대책의 일환으로 학교폭력 근절을 위한 추진과제를 실행해 왔고, 학교폭력 대처를 위한 법집행기관으로서의 경찰의 역할은 더욱 강화될 것으로 예상한다. 이런 점에서 본 연구에서는 향후 경찰의 학교폭력 예방 활동을 위한 몇 가지 정책적 제언을 하고자 한다. 우선, 학교전담경찰관 활동의 명확한 법적근거를 통한 내실화와 전문성 제고를 위한 채용 교육 제도가 필요하다. 다음으로, 학교폭력 이해당사자들의 책무성을 강화해야 한다. 각 지방경찰청장과 교육감이 주관하는 가칭 'Safe School 인증제도' 그리고 보호자에 대한 학교폭력 책무성을 강화하는 방안도 고려해야한다. 마지막으로, 학교폭력 위험성 정도에 따른 차등적 경찰대응과 종합적인 상담전화 기능의 117학교폭력 전화를 적극 홍보하고 상담사의 전문성을 제고하여 피해신고를 활성화해야 한다.

A Case Based e-Mail Response System for Customer Support

  • Due to the rapid growth of Internet, means of communication with customers in a traditional customer support environment such as telephone calls are being replaced by mainly e-mail in a Web-based customer support system. Although such a Web-based support is efficient and promises potential benefits for firms, including reduced transaction costs, reduced time, and high quality of support, there are some difficulties associated with responding to many types of customer's inbound e-mails appropriately. As many types of e-mail are received, considerable attention is being paid to methods for increasing the efficiency of managing and responding e-mails. This research proposes an intelligent system for managing customer's inbound e-mails in organizations by applying case based reasoning technique for responding to various customers' inbound e-mails more effectively. In this approach, a case is represented as a frame-typed data structure corresponding to an inbound e-mail, keywords, and its reply e-mail. In the retrieval procedure, keywords and affinity set is developed to index a case, and then the case is represented as a vector, a case vector. Also, cosines value is calculated to measure the similarity between a new inbound e-mail and the cases in the case base. In the adaptation procedure, we provide several adaptation strategies to adapt and modify the retrieved case. The strategies guide to make an outbound e-mail using product databases, databases for customer support, etc. Additionally, the Web-based system architecture is proposed to implement our methodology. The proposed methodology and system will be helpful for developing more efficient Web-based customer support.

국가수준 학업성취도 평가의 과학 문항 특성 분석 : 광학 내용을 중심으로 (Analysis on the Characteristics of National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA) Items for Science Subject: With a Focus on Optics)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 과학과 국가수준 학업성취도 평가에서 물리의 광학 영역 문항의 평가 결과를 분석하고 답지 반응률 분포 곡선을 활용하여 중학생들의 반응 특성을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 2010년부터 2013년까지 중학생들을 대상으로 시행된 과학과 국가수준 학업성취도 평가의 물리 문항 중 광학 영역에 해당되는 10개 문항을 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들의 '광학' 영역의 성취수준은 다른 영역(역학, 전자기학)에 비해서는 높았다. 둘째, '빛' 영역에서 '상의 형성'과 관련되어 학생들이 낮은 성취수준을 보였으며, '파동' 영역에서는 '파동의 전파에서 위상의 변화'와 관련되어 낮은 성취수준을 나타내었다. 셋째, 학생들은 상황 의존적인 문제풀이 전략 및 결과를 보이고 있었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 광학 개념에 대한 교육과정 수준의 재검토, 기초학력 단계 학생들에 대한 추가적인 교수학습의 필요성, 실제적인 현상 및 상황 중심의 교수학습의 필요성 등의 제언을 논의하였다.

대규모 유류유출사고 대비 환경보건 대응계획 수립을 위한 기반연구 (Scientific Basis of Environmental Health Contingency Planning for a Coastal Oil Spill)

  • Objectives : This study presents a scientific basis for the establishment of an environmental health contingency plan for dealing with accidental coastal oil spills and suggests some strategies for use in an environmental health emergency. Methods : We reviewed the existing literature, and analyzed the various fundamental factors involved in response strategies for oil spill. Our analysis included data derived from Hebei Spirit oil spill and used air dispersion modeling. Results : Spill amounts of more than 1,000 kl can affect the health of residents along the coast, especially those who belong to vulnerable groups. Almost 30% of South Korean population lives in the vicinity of the coast. The area that is at the highest risk for a spill and that has the greatest number of people at risk is the stretch of coastline from Busan to Tongyeong. The most prevalent types of oil spilt in Korean waters have been crude oil and bunker-C oil, both of which have relatively high specific gravity and contain volatile organic compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and metals. In the case of a spill of more than 1,000 kl, it may be necessary to evacuate vulnerable and sensitive groups. Conclusions : The government should establish environmental health planning that considers the spill amount, the types of oil, and the distance between the spot of the accident and the coast, and should assemble a response team that includes environmental health specialists to prepare for the future oil spill.

Retrofitting of a weaker building by coupling it to an adjacent stronger building using MR dampers

  • Among various retrofitting strategies, use of semi-active control for retrofitting a building structure has gained momentum in recent years. One of the techniques for such retrofitting is to connect a weaker building to an adjacent stronger building by semi-active devices, so that performances of a weaker building are significantly improved for seismic forces. In this paper, a ten storey weaker building is connected to an adjacent stronger building using magneto-rheological (MR) dampers, for primarily improving the performance of the weaker building in terms of displacement, drift and base shear. For this, a fuzzy logic controller is specifically developed by fuzzyfying the responses of the coupled system. The performance of the control strategy is compared with the passive-on and passive-off controls. Pounding Mitigation between the two buildings is also investigated using all three control strategies. The results show that there exists a fundamental frequency ratio between the two buildings for which maximum control of the weaker building response takes place with no penalty on the stronger building. There exists also a fundamental frequency ratio where control of the weaker building response is achieved at the expense of the amplification of the stronger building. However, coupling strategy always improves the possibility of pounding mitigation.
