Damping may change the response characteristics of nonlinear oscillations due to the parametric excitation of a thin cantilever beam. When the natural frequencies of the first bending and torsional modes are of the same order of magnitude, we can observe the one-to-one combination resonance in the perturbation analysis depending on the characteristic parameters. The nonlinear behavior about the combination resonance reveals a chaotic motion depending on the natural frequencies and damping ratio. We can analyze the chaotic dynamics by using the eigenvalue analysis of the perturbed components. In this paper, we derived the equations for autonomous system and solved them to obtain the characteristic equation. The stability analysis was carried out by examining the eigenvalues. Numerical integration gave the physical behavior of each mode for given parameters.

The temperature dependence of spin wave mode separation in amorphous $Co_{89.5}Zr_{10.5}$ thin film has been investigated at temperatures between 100 K and 300 K. The magnetization and the spectroscopic splitting factor were obtained for the main resonance mode in parallel and perpendicular magnetic field. ${\Delta}H_{2-3}$, the difference between resonance field of mode 2 and the resonance field of mode 3, increases with decreasing temperature. The linewidth increases for all the modes with decreasing temperature. Especially in mode 3 it increases rapidly below 200 K. This phenomenon could be caused by the increase of exchange stiffness constant or the decrease of surface magnetic anisotropy constant with decreasing temperature.

Resonant characteristic of Whispering modes(W. G. mode) on a dielectric disk resonator is influenced by an external circuit that is placed near the disk to excite this type of modes. In order to evaluate this phenomenon, we divide the disk resonator as two parts; a coupling part in which the mode coupling occurs and on uncoupled region. In the coupled part, we regard the part of the disk as a curved waveguide which is loaded with matched circuit, and derive a coupled mode equation for nonparallel dielectric waveguides. From the coupled mode equation, we calculate coupling coefficients and a coupled electromagnetic field. By using the complex coupling coefficients, we can calculate power transfer. We also calculate a resonant frequency in consideration of the mode coupling phenomenon. The calculated resonance frequence is confirmed by experiment for the resonance characteristics. As the results, it is found that the discrepancy between the theoretical and the experimental resonance frequencies is about 1.28% and the discrepancy between theory and experiment of FSR is about 0.6%.
The dynamic instability of doubly curved panels, subjected to non-uniform tensile in-plane harmonic edge loading $P(t)=P_s+P_d\;{\cos}{\Omega}t$ is investigated. The present work deals with the problem of the occurrence of combination resonances in contrast to simple resonances in parametrically excited doubly curved panels. Analytical expressions for the instability regions are obtained at ${\Omega}={\omega}_m+{\omega}_n$, (${\Omega}$ is the excitation frequency and ${\omega}_m$ and ${\omega}_n$ are the natural frequencies of the system) by using the method of multiple scales. It is shown that, besides the principal instability region at ${\Omega}=2{\omega}_1$, where ${\omega}_1$ is the fundamental frequency, other cases of ${\Omega}={\omega}_m+{\omega}_n$, related to other modes, can be of major importance and yield a significantly enlarged instability region. The effects of edge loading, curvature, damping and the static load factor on dynamic instability behavior of simply supported doubly curved panels are studied. The results show that under localized edge loading, combination resonance zones are as important as simple resonance zones. The effects of damping show that there is a finite critical value of the dynamic load factor for each instability region below which the curved panels cannot become dynamically unstable. This example of simultaneous excitation of two modes, each oscillating steadily at its own natural frequency, may be of considerable interest in vibration testing of actual structures.
In order to understand the temperature dependence of magnetic properties of $F_{84}Nb_{16}$(wt.%) thin films, ferromagnetic resonance experiments have been carried out. The ferromagnetic resonance spectra for all temperatures consist of several volume modes and one (or two) surface modes. It is suggested that both surface of the film have a perpendicular hard axis to the film plane (negative surface magnetic anisotropy). Saturation magnetization coincides with the Block's T$\^$2/3/ and spectroscopic splitting factor is almost constant in the temperature range from 113 K to 293 K. The surface magnetic anisotropy constant K$\_$s2/ of the film-substrate interface increased with decreasing temperature in the temperature range from 233 K to 293 K. The surface magnetic anisotropy constant K$\_$s1/ of the air-substrate interface decreased from -0.322 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to -0.394 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ as the temperature decreased to 253 K and was almost constant below 233 K.233 K.
Recently, extreme tsunami waves generated by submarine earthquake have caused tremendous damages to the coastal cities and ports. Strong seiche oscillations and runups are observed in specific sea areas around the world. Although no frequent impacts to the coast of Korean peninsula, there exist some important events in the east of Korea in the past. This study focuses on two historical events and recalculate with different fault and rupture mechanism for prediction considering the recent trend of submarine earthquake. The present study of the 1983 Akita tsunamis demonstrates the multi-scale resonance along continental coasts. Together with the Nankai tsunami for inland sea, we have confirmed the inland sea resonance surrounded by islands in defining the impact along the coast. Coherence and wavelet analyses for deducing a predominant period and time frequency are useful in reasoning the inundation. The resonance modes, which are largely independent of the tsunami source, allow identification of at-risk communities and infrastructure for mitigation of tsunami hazards. Furthermore, understanding of the resonance and the predicted runups for the site of power plant and industrial complex in the east coast of Korea would allow better preparation for the future disasters.

In this paper the electric and magnetic field distributions in a TEM cell used for EMC testing are analyzed numerically. The fields are distorted with the increase of frequency. These distortions are due to higher order modes and resonances and cause the bandwidthe limitations in the uae of TEM cels. The upper frequency is lower modes however, are reflected at some points through the tapered ends of the cell. Higher order modes however, are reflected at some points within the tapered region where it becomes too small to support the modes, The first two TE mode(TE$_{01}$ and TE$_{10}$) cutoff frequencies and the first six TE$_mnp$ resonant ferquencies are identified in a TEM cell (1x0 6x2m,w=0.72m) from field patterns and the results are consistent with others' data. The circumferential wall currents to support resonances are shown. For the large cell it is desired to extend the usable frequency range above the cutoff frequency of the first higher order mode. This study proposes an attempt to expand the frequency bandwidth by a resonance suppression.

The nonlinear behavior of continuous structural systems which possess external resonances as well as internal resonances are found be exhibit interesting reponses, arising because of the exhange of energy between the coupled modes. In this paper, the undamped forced vibrations was studied on the effect of primary resonance based on the concept of normal modes. By using the concept of normal mode the stability relation between free and forced vibrations was investigated in case of small exciting force. Numerical results show that the excitation of one unstable mode has a great influence on the response of the other mode but that of one stable mode does not.

The proper orthogonal decomposition(POD) is used to the modal analysis of microcantilever of dynamic mode atomic force microscopy(AFM). The proper orthogonal modes(POM) are extracted from vibrating signals of microcantilever when it resonates and taps the sample. The POMs resemble the linear normal modes(LNM) of cantilever vibrating at each resonance frequency. Some of POMs in tapping microcantilever show quite different shapes from the POMs of the resonating microcantilever. Also this POMs can be applied to model for the complex nonlinear behavior of the dynamic mode AFM microcantilevers.

In this paper, vibration mode of Windmill type Ultrasonic Motors was analysed. We used the ANSYS program to analysis by FEM. Vibration Mode express 20 modes as each resonance frequency. We bind nearly same modes and compress 5 modes. Windmill type Ultrasonic Motor's rotation is generated the friction of rotor at top endcap. Thus, We will find the best driving frequency that generating large friction at top endcap.
