An Experimental Study on the Development of Non-Compacting Concrete Using Viscosity Agent and Fly-ash (증점제 및 플라이애쉬를 이요한 다짐불요 콘크리트의 개발에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to develop the Non-compacting concrete with mormal strength in practice by using viscosity agent and flyash. In this paper, we present the reference data about not only the properties of Non-compacting concrete at fresh state such as flowability, segregation-resistibility, placebility and so on but, optimum mixing design using viscosity agent and flyash. The test results indicate that optimum dosage of viscosity agent in combination of flyash in 50% of W/C is about 400g/$\textrm{m}^3$ with 20% of the ratio of flyash replacement.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of IT convergenced high tech product. A remakable progress and needs of consumer were a variable and complex. These innovative progressive product in IT convergence area has increased a need. We investigated the relationship between IT convergence high tech product and resistibility. We provide that a successful investigation of consumer behaviour research in IT convergence technology.

Characterization and shaking table tests of multiple trench friction pendulum system with numerous intermediate sliding plates

  • In order to upgrade the seismic resistibility of structures and enhance the functionality of an isolator, a new base isolator called the multiple trench friction pendulum system (MTFPS) is proposed in this study. The proposed MTFPS isolator is composed of a trench concave surface and several intermediate sliding plates in two orthogonal directions. Mathematical formulations have been derived to examine the characteristics of the proposed MTFPS isolator possessing numerous intermediate sliding plates. By means of mathematical formulations which have been validated by experimental results of bidirectional ground shaking, it can be inferred that the natural period and damping effect of the MTFPS isolator with several intermediate sliding plates can be altered continually and controllably during earthquakes. Furthermore, results obtained from the component and shaking table tests demonstrate that the proposed isolator provides good protection to structures for prevention of damage from strong earthquakes.

Evaluation of Chloride Attack Resistibility of Heavyweight Concrete Using Copper Slag and Magnetite as Aggregate (동슬래그 및 자철석을 골재로 사용한 중량 콘크리트의 회파블록 적용을 위한 염해저항성 평가)

  • Recently, the coastal area has become the popular place for infrastructure development. To provide a beautiful scenary of costal area to nearby facilities without any hinderance, and also to protect those facilities from the sea water overflow, it is necessary to develop a new type of wave dissipating block, which is a turning wave block. It is noticeable that the top of the turning wave block is flat and thus can provide spaces for various purposes. However, the unit weight of the block decreases due to the presence of pipeline that is installed for turning the direction of the waves. In order to mitigate such problem, a heavyweight concrete needs to be used to increase the resistance against tidal waves. The copper slag and magnetite were used as a source of fine and coarse aggregate, respectively. The 28 day compressive strength of concrete incorporating ordinary and heavyweight aggregate did not show significant differences. It should be noted that the chloride ion penetration resistance was evaluated using NT-BUILD 492 rather than ASTM C 1202 method because concrete incorporating magnetite as a coarse aggregate showed excessive current flow by ASTM C 1202 method. According to the results from NT Build 492 method, which uses the penetration depth of chlorine ions to obtain chloride ion diffusivity, the heavyweight concrete incorporating the copper slag and the magnetite showed the best resistance against the chloride ion penetration. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that heavyweight concrete made with copper slag and magnetite can be used for production of turning wave block.

  • The present paper deals with the results of the experiments, in which the resistibility to NaCl in whole develomental stages is examined by the emergence rate and the effects of NaCl on the SD action in Drosophila melanogaster. The four SD strains and one mutant strain(cn bw)are used and NaCl media are prepared y adding NaCl at a concentration of 1.0M, 0.7M, 0.5M, 0.3M, 0.1M, and 0.0M to the standard media for the present investigations. The results are given below. 1. The emergence rate (resistibility to NaCl) is not significantly different among strains but strikingly different among concentrations of NaCl. 2. The emergence rate decreases as the concentration of NaCl increases; the four SD strains are considerably resistible to the NaCl from a concentration of 0.0M to 0.3M but are susceptible from 0.5M or higher concentrations of NaCl. 3. No eggs are hatched from the culture media containing a concentration of 1.0M NaCl. This suggests that the SD strains are not resistible to NaCl at a concentrations of 1.0M or higher. 4. The difference in k values is not signficant among strains and also among concentrations of NaCl. Thus the SD action is not affected as far as once emerged from the culture media whether containing NaCl or not.

  • Artificial graphite generally manufactured by carbonization sintering of shape-body of kneaded mixture using granular cokes as filler and pitch as binder, going through pitch impregnation process if necessary and finally applying graphitization heat treatment. Graphite materials are used for core internal structural components of the High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors (HTGR) because of their excellent heat resistibility and resistance of crack progress. The HTGR has a core consisting of an array of stacked graphite fuel blocks are machined from IG-110, a high-strength, fine-grained isotropic graphite. In this study, crack stabilization and micro-structures were measured by bend strength and fracture toughness of isotropic graphite grade IG-110. It is important to the reactor designer as they may govern the life of the graphite components and hence the life of the reactor. It was resulted crack propagation, bend strength, compressive strength and micro-structures of IG-110 graphite by scanning electron microscope and universal test machine.

  • The grating is the main purpose of drainage in civil engineering, architecture. This study examined the change and stress distribution by simulating three models of Vertical type grating structures that reduced the resistibility in respect of velocity rather than horizontal type grating and to design a grating with the optimal grating gap. The vertical type and horizontal type grating were compared in terms of the maximum stress and strain to identify the better product.

  • In this paper, The experimental materials of painted fire resistant paint on substrate, FRP, PVC, AL and stainless steel that fire resistant paint developed newly were evaluated as the hazard elements : the fire resistibility of the materials, fire spread test of flame, the oxygen index, flammability, the smoke density. the toxicity index from it when it burned. As a result of the experiments, the AL and the stainless steel were passed of fire resistant class 1, the FRP, the AL, and the stainless steel were ignited of fire spread test of flame, all the experimental materials showed about $50\%$ of oxygen index, V-0 of flammability, and 43-338 of maximum smoke density at flaming mode used smoke density chamber. Also, they showed that the toxicity index of combustion products were 0.57-1.12.

Relative Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity Comparison of the Eco-friendly Lightweight Concreate According to the Experimental Method (시험방법에 따른 친환경 경량콘크리트의 상대동탄성 계수 비교)

  • We developed eco-friendly lightweight concrete in order to apply eco-friendly lightweight concrete into structural wall or slab of shallow depth urban railway system. However, since lightweight aggregate has different structural feature of porous and it has been overvalued at current KS standard when applied, we did compare the characteristics of freezing and thawing of normal weight aggregate concrete by comparative test method(KS, ASTM). According to test method, there was a big difference of dynamic elastic modulus in lightweight concrete rather than in normal weight aggregate concrete. The big absorption factor in lightweight aggregate is main reason for that. For more detail, in KS law in which only 14 days water curing is carried out, the big amount of moisture in lightweight aggregate is frozen and high heaving pressure occurs and finally that lead to destruction of lightweight concrete. Therefore, it is considered that in case of lightweight concrete, resistibility against freezing and thawing has been undervalued in domestic KS law compared to ASTM law, which is overseas standard. So, a variety of examination about testing criteria and rule would be necessary for exact assessment of lightweight concrete.

  • Nowadays, the high performance composite materials are famous for the new construction materials as the construction buildings are bigger and higher. Out of them of all, the fiber reinforced concrete and mortar have been studied to develop and strengthen the performances of concrete, such as tensile strength, durability and the resistibility of crack. Also, it is considered that precast concrete is important alternatives of dry process for saving time, upgrading the material's quality and the productivity. Thus, PC panel is being produced for the use of dry wall as well as exterior finishing materials and it requires lots of tests and studies to be conducted to meet the various functional conditions. According to this study, it is considered that PVA fiber might be more effective than nylon fiber for developing the exterior PC panels.
