The purpose of this research is to examine residents' needs for shared community spaces and to explore the relationships between these needs and characteristics of consumers such as age and employment status of the homemakers, family life cycle stage, occupation of the primary income provider, housing size, and homeownership. Statistical data were compiled to determine frequencies and percentage distributions, and subjected to General Linear Model and Duncan-test analysis.Most residents wanted to utilize the basements of their complexes for storage space. Further interest was shown for shared community spaces that would be run by residents themselves, such as vegetable gardens, indoor playgrounds for children, senior citizen's activity rooms, walking paths, study rooms, and lounges. Female residents under 45 years old were likely to express needs for storage spaces for bicycle, and multipurpose rooms for meetings and family events. Female residents with jobs were more likely to desire shared community spaces than full-time females residents were. These findings imply the need for consideration of diverse plans rather than uniform ones. This results can be usefully applied to develop new apartment housing for different social class residents.
The purpose of this study was to examine the needs of apartment residents for community programs by generations. For this study, the data from the focus group interview(35 participants) and the questionnaire survey(186 participants) were analyzed. The major results were as follows; 1) The residents in different generations had different characteristics and life values. Y generation showed higher value in Technology/Consumption/Individual than other generations. BB generation had higher value both in Health/Property/Family and Prudence/Reality. G generation scored a higher level in Tradition/Conservatism. 2) The residents in all generations showed a high level in needs of community programs and especially higher rates in needs of communication programs items. However, there were gaps in program needs among different generations. Therefore, the community programs should be specialized provided by considering unique needs of different generations.
The purpose of this study is to find out the residents' needs fer the residential services according to residents' characteristics in multi-family housing. The results of this study are as follows 1) It was found that the 22 elements were selected as the residential services and they were categorized by 5 factors for the analysis 2) The ranked favorable needs of residential-services were the garbage separation(M=3.97), the apartment complex management (M=3.89), the parking management(M=3.88) etc. orderly. 3) As to there results analyzing the needs for the residential services, it was found that there were differences in needs according to the residents' characteristics. Therefore, this study emphasized on the necessity of the planning to classify the residential services according to the residents' characteristics.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs for managerial service for residents in multi-family housing. For the survey and statistical analysis, the questionnaires from 484 residents and 84 housing managers of multi-family housing within the Seoul metropolitan area were used. The analytical methods adopted in this study were frequency, percentage, t-test, and factor analysis. The results of this study are as follow : (1) Basic services within a multi-family housing included management, minimum residential self governance, basic etiquette, and community program. And additional service were categorized by the health and entertainment program, the consumer service program, the residential life services, the information and financial services program, and the children's program. (2) The favorite needs of residents' additional services were the market news and information, the programs related health, the mail services, the health diagnosis service programs etc. But, housing managers' needs were the market news and information, and the flea market. As to the results analyzing the needs for additional service fir residents, it was found there were differences between residents and housing managers.
This paper is aimed at investigating environmental indicators and needs based on residents' perception at Seosan city, Chungnam province. The results can be summarized as follows ; 1) On the average, the environmental level perceived by residents at Seosan city lies somewhat above the middle one, three points. 2) The perceived environmental level in rural areas is hither than that in urban and suburban ones, 3) There is a difference in residents'environmental needs between rural and urban areas. 4) It is proposed that a long-term and systematic environmental planning for Seosan city should be established to improve the environmental level.
This study examined to obtain the basic data related to fashion information and to identify residents for educational program for the community residents. The data were analyzed by using $x^2-test$ by sex, age, education level, and income. Total 476 subjects were surveyed in Taejon. Findings of the this study provided some results to develop educational programs for community people. The major results were as follows. 1. There were significant differences in needs of community residents by age. Needs were divided into two categories, they grouped teen aged and twenties into thirties and forties. Thus, education contents necessarily involved fashion design, fashion coordination. The data suggested that educational program contents should be differed by age such as the image making by clothes, clothing construction, and checking of body shape. 2. It showed significant differences in residents by educational level. 3. There were not significant differences in residents by income. 4. About 70% of residents answered that educational program should be implicated clothing recycling and management of clothing and textiles.
The purpose of this study was to provide guidelines for the remodeling understanding the needs of apartment housing residents. In order to achieve our goal, questionnaire surveys were used. We sampled the questionnaire surveys of the households in Seoul whose apartments had been more than ten years and recently remodeled. The materials collected by a questionnaire survey were analyzed by examining the frequency, percentage on the SPSS/PC+ Statistics package. The results of the questionnaire survey were as follows: (1) Residents tend to demand better environment than an economics benefits from remodeling. (2) Residents wanted to have organized the remodeling group that can help to solve the problems concerning profit and loss among residents. (3) Residents wanted to be supported by government, expand loans from monetary organizations, and have a reserve fund for the remodeling.
The purpose of this study is to examine residents' perception and needs for storage according to the family life cycle. In order to achieve our goal, the questionnaire survey is used. We sample the questionnaire surveys of 250 apartment households in Seoul. The data collect by the questionnaire survey was analyzed by examining the frequency, percentage on the SPSS/PC+ Statistics package. The results of the study are obtained as follows: 1) In research on the actual storage condition, residents tend to feel constraint on storage of the season goods and the storage satisfaction on the service area is founded lowest. Therefore, it is needed more efficient space in the balcony for the storage of the goods of no use and the colsed furniture rather than the open furniture is suited for arrangement. 3) In research on the storage needs, needs for the built-in furniture in all family life cycle show highly and residents want to a space for the exclusive use of the storage. As the educational environment is qualitatively improved by revision of the school curriculum, local residents become increasingly interested in sharing the educational environment through the mixed-use of school facilities. The purpose of this study was to obtain a better understanding of the use and need for school facilities. This study involved a literature review and a survey of local residents who have used school facilities. The results are as follows: (1) sports and learning facilities were the most used of five different types of school facilities, (2) school facilities were mainly used in the evenings (18:00~22:00 hrs), but the respondents differed in terms of time of use according to gender, age and work hours, (3) the result showed high needs for all types of facility and needs for sports facilities among them were the highest, and (4) preferred time of use was varied according to the type of facility and the residents' characteristics. In conclusion, this study explored various directions for the mixed-use of school facilities by analyzing local residents' current use and their needs for further use of these facilities, taking into account the different characteristics of the users.
Purpose: This study aims at comparing levels of service satisfaction with and needs for visiting nurse(VN) services among their beneficiaries in order to make a plan for extending VN services. Methods: The number of the subjects of this study is 270 in total. They were selected in random sampling in which 30 VN service recipients were randomly selected from each of 7 regions based on their grades and region types. Results: The highest total score for satisfaction with the VN services was 46.30, which the rural residents gave to their received VN services, then the metropolitan residents gave 44.57, and the small and middle size cities' residents 43.64. On the other hand, the highest total score for needs for VN services was 33.03, which the small and middle size cities' residents gave to their received VN services, then the rural residents gave 31.68, and the metropolitan residents 30.88. Conclusion: As the small and middle size cities' residents showed low satisfaction with and high needs for local VN services, policies need to be made to promote service providers' expertise and accessibility.
