건물화재시 연기층의 형성에 관한 실험적연구 (An Experimental Study on the Formation of Smoke Layer of Compartment Fire)

  • The objective of this research is to study the formations of smoke layer in case of several furniture fires such as trashcan, carpet, mattress and wardrobe as a fire starter in a residential room by performing the experimental studies. The uniformly distributed fire in case of carpet showed that the ignition and the initial growth period were relatively short while the fully developed period was considerably long. The concentrated fires such as the trashcan, mattress and wardrobe showed that the ignitions and the initial growth periods were relatively long. The descending speed of the interface height was proportioned to the inflammability of the furniture and the spread of the fire. The time required to come down around 1m was within 1-3 minutes. The Interface heights for the furniture fires were around 1m as the steady state. However, at the time of the maximum temperature, the interface height was lowered to 0.25m-0.75m from the floor. The carbon dioxide concentration reached the highest while the oxygen concentration was minimum.

APPLICATION OF FIRE RESEARCH TO BUILDING FIRE SAFETY DESIGN - CURRENT BENEFITS AND FUTURE NEEDS

  • There is a strong international move towards performance based fire regulations for buildings with New Zealand and Australia at the forefront of research in this fold. The reform of regulations is thought to offer more innovation and flexibility in building design and greater cost effectiveness in construction. An important part of the research in this area is related to the development of agreed approaches to fire safety design, such as the Fire Code Reform Centre's "Fire Engineering Guidelines" or New Zealand's "Fire Engineering Design Guide". Such design process documents have incorporated or referenced much of the latest research in areas such as: tenability criteria fire compartment models egress models risk assessment. Use of such design guidelines or equivalents in major projects in countries such as Hong Kong and Australia have highlighted where fro engineering can offer real benefits to building designers and ultimately building owners and operators. However, there is still much research to be done and use of a systematic, logical design approach clearly identifies where design data or modelling techniques are still urgently required. Such areas are: fire growth rates and peak heat release rates for non-residential occupancies pre-movement times related to egress experimental validation and limits of applicability of CFD and other compartment Ire models probability/reliability data on fire protection systems for risk based analysis. Examples from case studies will be shown where lack of such research and poor judgement can lead to inferior design solutions or where unnecessarily conservative designs can lead to cost excesses. In summary, the link between Ire engineering designers and the research community is very important to highlight areas of fire research that will have the most benefit to the building and construction industry.nstruction industry.

일조와 조망, 자연환기성능을 고려한 공동주택 배치계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Planning of Multi-Family Residential Buildings considering Daylight, View and Natural Ventilation)

  • The study has conducted a research on the main shape of domestic multi-family residential buildings. The four arrangements were selected after the research and each of them was analyzed for daylight, view and natural ventilation according to the different pitch of buildings. Based on the results from the analysis, the optimum pitch of buildings for each of the arrangements are as follows. With looking at the outcomes from the analysis on changes in residential environment by the pitch of building buildings in the four arrangements, it was figured out that it would be the best if the distance is more than 1.0H for Case_1. For Case_2, it should be more than 0.9H and for Case_3, it has to be 1.0H or more. Last but not least, it seems to be superb if the distance is more than 0.9H for Case_4.

피난 지연시간의 적용과 방화문 개방 정도에 따른 피난 안전성 확보에 관한 고찰 : 주거형태를 중심으로 (A Study on the Safety of Evacuation according to Evacuation Delay Time and Fire Door Openness: Based on Residence Types)

  • 본 논문은 주거형태를 가지는 건축물의 성능위주설계 시 수행되는 피난 지연시간(인지 시간 + 개시 시간)의 적용과 세대 내 방화문의 개방 정도가 피난 안전성 평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 파악하고 현실적 대안을 제시하기 위한 논문이다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 먼저 2018년 6월까지 시행되었던 광주광역시의 성능위주설계 대상 건축물 중 주거형태를 가지는 건축물(공동주택, 도시형생활주택 등)의 피난 안전성 평가에 대해 선행 조사를 하였다. 그런 다음 선행 조사된 건축물 중 일반적으로 많이 사용되고 있는 2가지 대표적인 Type에 대해 피난 지연시간은 W1, W2를 적용하고 방화문의 개방 정도는 전체개방, 1/4 개방, 누설 틈새를 각각 적용하여 시뮬레이션한 다음 피난 안전성 평가를 수행하였다. 피난 안전성 평가의 수행결과 방화문 개방 정도가 전체개방 및 1/4 개방 상태에서 사생활 침해 등을 고려하여 피난 지연시간 W2를 적용한 경우에는 피난 안전성을 모두 확보하기 어려운 것으로 나타났으며, 누설 틈새를 적용한 경우에만 피난 지연시간 W2를 적용해도 피난 안전성이 확보되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 주거형태를 가지는 건축물이 성능위주설계 대상이 될 때 피난 안전성 평가 수행 시 CCTV 설치 등으로 사생활 침해 등의 우려가 있는 국내 현실을 반영하여 피난 지연시간은 W1보다는 W2의 적용을 검토하고 방화문의 차연성능 확보 및 성능위주 설계의 고도화를 위해 방화문의 개방 정도에 누설 틈새를 적용하는 방안도 함께 검토해 줄 것을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통해 성능위주 설계 시 좀 더 현실화된 자료로 피난 안전성 평가를 수행함으로써 한 단계 더 발전된 성능위주설계가 될 것으로 기대된다.

농촌 주거지역 쓰레기소각으로 인한 산불화재 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement Method of Forest Fire Caused by Waste Incineration at the Farming Residential Area)

  • Currently the forest area is 6,370,000 hectare (ha) which occupies 63.7% in Korea. The forest has good functions such as production of forest products, conservation of national land, prevention of disasters, etc. However constructing houses near the forest area make bad situation like illegal waste incineration by resident. So research subject is forest fire caused by waste incineration place including facility. And this study was conducted about statistical analysis and research analysis of the 100 waste incineration places including facilities at the country town. Statistical analysis shows that March is 27% which percentage is the highest number of forest fire in 10 years' average. The number of forest fire caused by waste incineration is 45 which is the third highest number in the fire statistic. The distance between waste incineration place including facility and forest area is 30m, 40m and 50m. That 40m (36%) is the most common distance from forest area. The types of waste incineration are ground (62%), the temporary facility made with oil drum can (35%) and other made with steel sheet, concrete, etc. The result of this study is that government and local government must conduct the improvement measure to reduce illegal incineration such as waste pickup area made with rain and wind proof type installed near residence, expenses for waste treatment, enlightenment and training, etc. Also considering their age and income are needed for realistic improvement.

건물화재시 경계면 선정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decision of the Interface Height in Compartment Fire)

  • 화재시 실내의 경계면 선정에 관한 연구를 하기 위하여 쓰레기통, 의자, 카패트 및 소파의 화재실험 을 실제건물에서 수행하였다. 경계변의 선정을 하기위해서 화재실의 온도변화가 큰 지점은 여러 곳 온 도를 측정하고, 각 측정점의 온도를 시간과 높이별로 평균온도를 구한다. 또한 기본 측정점을 기준으로 화재실 전체구역에 대한 평변의 온도분포를 구하여 용도변화가 가장 큰 지점을 경계면의 높이로 정한 다. 이결과 어느 화재의 경우나 경계면이 뚜렷이 나타났고, 경계면 높이는 1[m] 근처에서 일정한 상태 값을 유지하였다. 다만, 최대온도를 나타내는 시간에는 경계면 높이가 O.25[m]내지 O.75[m]까지도 내 려왔다.

건축물의 화재안전설계를 위한 각국의 내·외장재 기준 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Standards of Internal and External Materials of Each Country for Fire Safety of Buildings)

  • In Korea, the concentration of cities has led to the high-rise and deep-rise of buildings. In the case of such high-rise buildings, there is a high risk of fire, and the number of internal fires expanding to the outside continues to increase. The Korean Building Act continues to change the ban on combustible exterior materials, and combustible exterior materials are currently not available for buildings with three stories or more than 9 meters, and detailed test standards for finishing materials are also strengthened after the Ulsan residential and commercial fires in 2020. However, the path of fire in the actual building is through a series of processes in which the fire in the compartment grows internally and expands through openings supplied with ventilation factors. Therefore, other than just external materials, design criteria for embedded materials also need to be established. The purpose of this study is to compare standards for internal and external materials at home and abroad and to secure basic data for fire safety design of buildings based on them.

  • The proportion of old buildings over 30 years old increased from 29.0% in 2005 to 37.8% in 2019. These old buildings were created during the absence of building-related safety standards such as fire safety performance. In the process of use, illegal changes and extensions were made, making them more vulnerable to safety. In the 1st Basic Plan for Fire Safety Policy, among the 12-Key Tasks, one is to ensure the safety of residential living spaces. Fire safety investigations are being conducted to prevent large-scale disasters such as multi-use buildings, but no investigation has been conducted at the regional district level where small-scale old buildings are concentrated. Therefore, in order to derive fire risk factors in the old building district where old buildings are concentrated, the composition characteristics of the buildings were first analyzed.

주택가 밀집지역 화재발생 초기 드론 활용 서비스디자인 연구 (Service Design for Using the Drones in the Early Stages Fires of Dense Residential Areas)

  • 화재 현장에서 드론을 활용하여 현장상황과 도로상황 등을 파악하여 상황실에 전달하는 서비스와 사람이 접근하기 불가능한 사고 현장에서 인명구조 활동이나 구급용품 전달로 위급한 상황에 대처하는 경우가 늘어나고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 주택가 밀집지역에서 발생하는 화재에 대한 초기 대응단계에서 드론을 활용한 서비스디자인을 연구해 화재현장 출동 및 화재진압 등 대응단계의 서비스디자인 영역을 구체화하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 문헌연구를 통해 서비스디자인의 개념 및 프로세스 고찰과 서비스디자인을 활용한 적용 사례를 분석해 연구의 방향을 모색하였다. 연구의 타당성을 위해 현직 소방관들을 대상으로 드론 사용과 문제점 파악을 일대일 면접조사로 실시하였으며, 드론 전문가를 대상으로 드론의 화재현장 적용가능성을 파악하였다. 연구의 표본으로 서울시 중 화재 대응에 가장 취약한 용산구를 대상으로 인근 도로상황과 현장 실태조사, 119 안전센터 등의 위치와 거리를 파악하는 필드리서치를 진행하고 서비스디자인 방법론 중 이해관계자들의 경험 가치와 행위 분석을 가상시나리오를 통해 페르소나와 고객여정맵을 작성하고 인사이트를 도출하였다. 이런 프로세스를 통해 화재 초기대응 서비스디자인을 제시하고 우리나라 화재발생 초기대응 서비스디자인 방향을 수립하는데 도움이 되고자 하였다.

  • The final energy consumption in the building sector in Korea represents almost 20% of the total energy consumption. Besides, Space heating and hot water generation in Korea are based on fossil fuels, with a serious environmental impact. Despite the popularity of simple solar domestic hot water systems, active solar space heating remains, for various reasons, marginal. And thus, the aim of this paper is to demonstrate potentialities of solar assisted space heating systems, both technically and economically. From this study found that the solar heating system with CPC solar collectors integrated the roof of a single-story residential building shares $50{\sim}55%$ of the annual heating load.
