The Relation between Housing Needs and Housing Function according to the Maslow's Theory of Needs

  • Purpose: The most important thing is to know exactly what needs users have when planning a housing. People have their own criteria that directly influence purchasing decisions when choosing a house to live in. And they select the house with the largest number of elements satisfying these criteria. This days most consumers are mostly satisfied with their material needs. And now people thinking more important motive than simply pursuing material gains. It is the most essential role in they consume consciously or unconsciously that meeting the needs of which step. And now days housing space has become a merchandise, this study check the related function of the residential space and human needs. Method: First, this study wanted to understand the housing needs, which is needs related to housing in basic needs that humans have. Second, this study wanted to understand what the requirements and the criteria for choosing housing of actual resident, who want to have changed housing. Third, This study check how to set up the direction of development in housing planning, through the comparison of the housing needs and the residential function defined above. Result: Henceforth housing should consider meet the Esteem Needs and Self-Actualization Needs, among the type of Grow-based Motivation. The functions for this are convenience, independence, economics, sociality, relaxation, and expressivity. In addition, it should be able to express oneself and recognize the value of oneself through leisure activities and interaction with neighbors. And, it should be able to move toward the direction to express that hobby activities for individual talent development in separate space.

Participation and Activities of Daily Living, Cognition, And Motor Function According to Residential Area in Stroke Survivors

  • PURPOSE: Social participation is essential for stroke survivors. Although participation restrictions are affected by several factors, a few studies have focused on the effects of living in a particular residential area (urban versus rural) on the participation restrictions after a stroke. This study examined the factors affecting participation restrictions in stroke survivors according to the residential area. METHODS: One hundred sixty-six stroke patients (including 130 living in urban areas and 36 living in rural areas) were recruited for this study. The Korean Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI) was used to assess the activities of daily living (ADL). The Korean Mini-Mental Examination Status (MMSE-K) was used to assess cognition. The motor function was evaluated using the Fugl-Meyer function assessment (FMA). Path analysis was used to test the hypothesized model of participation restriction. RESULTS: The proposed path model showed good fit indices. In rural and urban areas, the direct effects were significant between the ADL and participation restrictions (β = -.673 and -.457, respectively). For urban areas, the direct effects were significant between cognition and participation restrictions (β = -.252). In both area types, motor function and cognition had a significant direct effect on the ADL. CONCLUSION: For urban community-dwelling stroke survivors, the ADL and cognition had direct effects on participation restrictions. For rural area stroke survivors, the ADL had direct effects on participation restrictions. Activity level exercise programs help reduce the participation restrictions. Moreover, it is essential to address cognition training to improve participation in urban community-dwelling stroke survivors.

주택용 태양광발전시스템의 적정 용량 및 설치각 선정을 위한 최적화 모델 연구 (An Optimal Decision Model for Capacity and Inclining Angle of Residential Photovoltaic Systems)

  • In residential house, photovoltaic (PV) system among various alternatives in renewable energy system is the most efficient and feasible solution for reducing energy consumption and electricity cost. However, relatively high initial cost make people reluctant to install PV system in their houses. Therefore, in the initial state for PV system installation in the house, it is very important to decide proper capacity of the PV system considering the expected energy usage and solar energy supplying condition with the house. This paper proposes a novel optimization model for deciding appropriate capacity of the PV system for residential house. The objective function of the model is to minimize the annual cost including electricity bill, operation and maintenance cost, and annual fixed cost calculated from the initial installation cost based on capital recovery factor (CRF). The model also shows the optimal inclining angle of PV panels of the system. In this paper, we estimate the PV output using PVWATTS (PV simulator of Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy) and find optimal solutions by Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) method using MATLAB software. The proposed approach is finally applied to a residential model house in Gangneung, Gangwon-Do and verified its feasibility for adopting to PV system design for residential houses.

지체장애인 맞춤형주택 디자인가이드라인의 사용자혜택 분석 (User Benefits Analysis of Customized House Design Guidelines for Physically Disabled People)

  • Most existing residential environment of disabled people has made them exposed to the risk of safety accidents, and therefore hinders their independent living. In this regard, the importance of desirable residential environment has emerged. Some preceding studies have addressed the characteristics of disabled people's residential environment plan; however, the information on what environmental benefits are offered through such characteristics is insufficient. This study aims to analyze the housing design guidelines for disabled people in respect of the benefit of disabled people who are actual users. In this study, essential design guidelines for disabled people verified through expert workshop panel was analyzed based on user benefit theory. According to the study results, the total guidelines have the most characteristics supporting behavioral facilitation, and mainly consist of physiological maintenance characteristics related to disabled people's health and safety. Also, it is founded that environmental affordance essentially required depending on each spatial function was different. The ratio of physiological maintenance item is high in access route, unlike living room, kitchen and bed room where behavioral facilitation is especially emphasized. These findings can be utilized as basic data for customized residential environment plan to realize residential welfare for disabled people.

초고층 주상복합 건축물에서 조닝분석을 통한 단위세대 평면 유형 및 계획특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Plan Characteristics and Unit Floor Type Through the Zoning Analysis of High-rise Residential Buildings)

  • The aim of this study is to understand the plan characteristics used in unit floor planning mainly with examples of mixed-use residential tall buildings. The study will extract plan characteristics mainly using the graph expressive technique with essential information of the zoning function of residential space, rather than merely analyzing the various construction floor plans by type. The research method involves studying a group of 50-story buildings (over 200 meters) which were built between 2002 and 2008. Among 6 high-rise residential buildings case, we extract the most preferred type from 34 types, And then we simply classify rooms in 3 zoning, the master, living and children's zones. Finally we analyze the correlation among 3 simple zone and then extract some model type. The results of this study revealed three main findings. First, using the 3 functional zones, the shape of the main building and the unit floor plan can be analyzed simply even when they appear to be complicated. Second, we can extract common features when we analyze the unit floor plan from the viewpoint of the penetrability among 3 zoning. Third, we can extract 2 types when we analyze the unit floor plan from the viewpoint of 3 connected functional zoning concepts.

실내 CO2 농도와 PIR 신호를 활용한 주거건물의 재실 추정 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Algorithm for the Occupancy Inference in Residential Buildings using Indoor CO2 Concentration and PIR Signals)

  • Occupancy-based heating control is effective in reducing heating energy by preventing unnecessary heating during unoccupied period. Various technologies on detecting human occupancy have been developed using complicated machine learning algorithm and stochastic methodologies. This study aims at deriving low-cost and simple algorithm of occupancy inference that can be implemented to residential buildings. The core concept of the algorithm is to combine the occupancy probabilities based on indoor CO2 concentration and PIR(passive infrared) signals. The probability was estimated by applying different levels of decrement ratio depending on CO2 concentration change rate and aggregated PIR signals. The developed algorithm was validated by comparing the inference results with the occupancy schedule in a real residential building. The results showed that the inference algorithm can achieve the accuracy of 75~99%, which would be successfully implemented to the control of residential heating systems.

환경친화적 완충녹지의 기준설정 (Design and Planning Criteria for the Green Buffer Zone)

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the existing situation of the green buffer zone in the large scale industrial site and other major residential apartment areas. In this study, it is specifically intended that the planning guideline be upgraded to adopt future landuse trends and thus to suggest design criteria for management of the buffer zone. The framework of the analysis is to review the current landuse, noise reduction, ecological implications and landscape in general. Although the major function of a green buffer zone is considered to protect the residential area from various hazards of industrial, traffic, and visual environment, the situation is that most of the zones are maintained at a minimum level of services by local government. The study carried out intensively almost every type of case studied throughout the country, which implies that the management of the green buffer zone should be expanded physically enough to function for its original objectives. The study recommends that ecological management of the green buffer zone be emphasized and therefore the criteria for this purpose as well as noise issue should be developed prior to the landuse aspects. The study suggests specific guidelines for planning and design for the green buffer zone development. This study should be verified positively through the sustainable monitoring and requires nationwide and overall examination so that it may be applied to whole green spaces.

주거공간의 공간조절행위에 따른 가구배치특성 연구 - 아파트의 가구배치 실태조사를 중심으로 - (A Study on Furniture Layout Characteristics According to Space Control Behavior in Housing Area - Focused on Survey of Furniture Layout in Apartment -)

  • This study aimed at acknowledging characteristics of space usage and suggesting orientation of space planning and furniture designing that meet various residents' demands correlating with residential area, furniture and family members by doing fact finding of volume of the furniture in medium/small sized apartment. The contents of the study are "experience of functional remodeling," "a number of bedrooms correlating with a number of family" and "furniture arrangement of each space and characteristics of space utilization" based on forty six cases. Followings are results of the study. 1) It was acknowledged that the function of space relating to family members largely depends on furniture arrangement correlating with age of children. It is needed that flexible planning of residential area to meets growing children and various family demands. 2) Functional remodeling requires furniture rearrangement attended with the remodeling. Thus, it is required that ideas in more simple and efficient furniture designing and consideration of construction environment embracing that ideas. 3) It can be acknowledged that the most demanding matter to enjoy satisfied and comfortable life in residential area is the matter of storage area. It is also understandable that the matter can be worse by time going by and the change of living pattern. Therefore, it is required that the consideration of enough storage area compatible with its function of the room and the planning of built-in furniture for storage.

Mixed-use Housing is topology that mix function of residential and business and commercial facilities by kind of mixed-use development. And, Mixed-use Housing which is located in busy urban commercial strict should meet the demand not only as functional city. And it is a type of urban housing that located in busy urban commercial district demands function of residential. As for locational situation and types of public space researched and analyzed in this thesis, those space were left alone with short analyzation on main consumers level as well as short recognition of public space for all of the six combined facilities of dewelling and commercing

단독주택 저압 주택용 전기 소비자가 태양광 발전기 대여시 경제성 분석 (An Economic Analysis of a Low-Voltage Residential Electricity Consumer at a Detached House When Renting a Photovoltaic Generator)

  • 주택용 전기 소비자는 태양광 발전기를 대여할 수 있고, 만일 감소된 전기요금이 대여료보다 크다면 수익이 발생할 수 있다. 아직까지 수익의 정확한 함수식은 계산되지 않았는데 본 논문에서 계산했다. 두 가지 가정이 있다. 첫 번째는 대여한 태양광 발전기가 월간 300kWh 발전하는 것이고, 두 번째는 태양광 발전기를 대여할 때 일시불로 362300원 지불한다는 것이다. 함수가 구간에 따라 달라지므로 3개의 구간을 가정하고 각 구간에서의 함수를 유도했다. 유도한 함수에 의해서 기본 7년간 월간 전기 사용량 401~1000kWh 사용하는 저압 주택용 전기요금 소비자의 수익률, 회수 시간, 감도를 계산했다. 본 논문에서 계산된 값에 의해서 월간 전기 사용량 401~1000kWh 사용하는 저압 주택용 전기요금 소비자가 3kW 태양광 발전기를 대여할지 말지 결정할 때 중요한 자료다.
