국방연구시설장비 정보시스템(DRES)을 통한 국방연구시설·장비 관리 방안 연구 (Research on management plan of Defense Facilities and Equipments through DRES)

  • 세계 주요 국가들은 미래성장 동력 육성과 신기술 확보를 위하여 국가차원의 R&D 지원을 확대하고 있으며, 우리나라에서도 R&D 투자 규모를 지속적으로 확대하고 있다. 또한, 우리나라의 국가 R&D의 규모와 GDP 대비 면에서 세계 최고수준에 이른 상황이여서 R&D예산의 양적인 확대와 함께 효율적인 활용이 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 따라 정부R&D혁신방안('15.5)의 주요 과제 중 세부실행과제로 '연구시설 장비 활용도 제고'가 선정되었다. 본 연구에서는 현재 구축중인 국방연구시설장비 정보시스템(DRES)를 통해 국방분야 연구시설장비의 관리방안을 연구하였다. 이를 위해 현재 국가차원의 연구시설장비 관리절차를 파악하였고 기존 국방분야 연구시설 장비의 관리현황과 문제점, 관련규정을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 설계를 통하여 국방분야 연구시설 장비를 관리할 수 있는 정보체계를 설계 분석하였으며 이를 통해 관리방안을 연구하였다.

  • The Korean government has invested a tremendous amount of money in the last 10 years to build large public research infrastructures (LPRI). For efficient operation and maintenance of LPRI built with expensive equipment and professional engineers, reasonable budget needs to be allocated. However, it is difficult to fulfill sustainable operation and maintenance (O&M) because there is no standard on budgeting for efficient LPRI operation, including expensive equipment and manpower allocation. There have been a lot of cost assessment studies regarding O&M of high-demand facilities such as hospitals, hotels and residential buildings, but a very few on sustainable O&M of LPRI. Therefore, mid/long-term budget establishment plans for efficient LPRI O&M are required from the initial planning stage and a cost assessment model to support the plans should be developed. The objective of this paper is to propose a cost assessment model for sustainable operation and maintenance of large public research infrastructures. To do so, actual O&M data of 6 LPRI types in operation are collected, and regression analysis model (RAM) is used for development and evaluation a cost assessment model. The study result will support sustainable operation of LPRI from a business perspective and be used as basic data for continuous development of cost assessment models to establish budgets for LPRI operation from an academic perspective.

Design and Realization. of the Dual-mode Channel Filter and Group-Delay-and-Amplitude Equalizer for the Ka-band Satellite Transponder Subsystem

  • In this paper, the design of a channel filter and its group-delay-and-amplitude equalizer is carried out for the Ka-band satellite transponder subsystem. The 8th order dual-mode filter is employed for high selectivity around the band-edges with an elliptic-integral function response and has an in-line configuration. The 2-pole, reflection-type, group-delay equalizer is designed and manufactured to reduce the group-delay and amplitude variation, which can be large for such a high order filter. It is noted that in both the filter and equalizer, adopting the dual-mode coupling mechanism leads to less mass and volume. Through measurement, the performance of the realized group-delay-equalized filter is shown to meet the equipment requirements and to be appropriate for the satellite input multiplexer.

  • At COMS SOC, 13m antenna system will serve to transmit command and receive telemetry in S-Band for COMS operation. In addition, Sensor Data and LRIT/HRIT in L-Band will be received and LRIT/HRIT in S-Band will be transmitted through this antenna system. In many cases, G/T is used as barometer to estimate the receiving capability of antenna system. To estimate G/T, this paper presents two approaches, one is analysis based on the specification of antenna and RF equipment while the other is measurement by using Sun. From the results, G/T was proven as more than 20dB/K and it means that the required G/T, 19dB/K is verified successfully.

  • The S-Band SSPA is front-end equipment to transmit both LRIT and HRIT to COMS. To provide the required EIRP, S-Band SSPA is designed to generate maximum 1kW power at its 1dB gain compression point (P1dB). Due to the operation for 24 hours per seven days, the verification on the performance of S-Band SSPA was performed thoroughly. This paper presents that major requirements such as maximum 1kW power, maximum -26dBc of IMD characteristic at 500W output and around -57dBc of coupling factor were verified through proposed test configuration.

The Development Progress of Korean Aviation Industry and its Investment Strategy Based on the Evidence and the 4th Industrial Revolution

  • This study examines the history of Korean aviation industry and presents the investment strategy based on the evidence and the 4th industrial revolution. Looking at the evolution of the Korean aviation industry and its technological development will be a great help to support industrial and technological innovation in the future. The modern aviation industry is divided into stages of development, focusing on maintenance of equipment introduced in advanced countries, localization through license assembly, production of products based on technology, and international joint development. The development of aeronautics technology has been progressing towards a general improvement of economic efficiency, aircraft safety efficiency through environmental-friendliness, unmanned operation, and downsizing. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute has secured key technologies through development of several aircrafts such as Experimental Aircraft Kachi, EXPO Unmanned Airship, Twin-engine Composite Aircraft, Canard Aircraft, Multi-Purpose Stratosphere unmanned-airship, Medium Aerostats, Smart UAV, Surion, EAV-2H, KC-100, and OPV. The development strategy is discussed at the level of the evidence-based investment strategy that is currently being discussed, and so the investment priorities in aircraft is high. Current drone usage and development direction are not only producing parts using 3D printer, but also autonomous flight, communication (IoT, 5G), information processing (big data, machine learning). Therefore, the aviation industry is expected to lead the fourth industrial revolution.

밀리미터파 추적레이더 운용 알고리듬 연구를 위한 RAW 데이터 저장 장비 개발 (Development of RAW Data Storage Equipment for Operation Algorithm research of the Millimeter Wave Tracking Radar)

  • 최근 추적 레이더는 다양한 환경에서 표적을 획득하고 추적할 수 있는 새로운 알고리듬을 개발하기 위한 연구를 지속하고 있다. 일반적으로 새로운 운용 알고리듬 개발을 위해 실제 표적 및 환경과 유사한 모델링을 사용하지만, 실제 환경을 모델링하는데 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 밀리미터파를 사용하는 추적레이더가 표적을 획득하고 추적하는데 필요한 새로운 운용 알고리듬을 효율적으로 개발하기 위해 RAW 데이터 저장 장비를 개발하였다. RAW 데이터 저장 장비는 밀리미터파를 사용하는 추적레이더의 신호처리장치가 8채널에서 OOOMSPS로 출력하는 RAW 데이터를 실시간으로 저장할 수 있도록 설계하였다. RAW 데이터 저장 장비는 데이터 획득 장비, 데이터 저장 장비로 구성된다. 데이터 획득장비는 고속통신 인터페이스가 가능한 상용 Xilinx KCU 105 Evaluation KIT를 활용하여 구현하였고, 데이터 저장장비는 상용 Xilinx KCU 105 Evaluation KIT 호환이 가능한 컴퓨터를 적용하여 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 RAW 데이터 저장 장비는 밀리미터파 추적레이더의 신호처리장치와 반복 연동시험을 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

Improvement of aseismic performance of a PGSFR PHTS pump

  • A design study was performed to improve the limit aseismic performance (LSP) of a primary heat transport system (PHTS) pump. This pump is part of the primary equipment of a prototype generation IV sodium-cooled fast reactor (PGSFR). The LSP is the maximum allowable seismic load that still ensures structural integrity. To calculate the LSP of the PHTS pump, a structural analysis model of the pump was developed and its dynamic characteristics were obtained by modal analysis. The floor response spectrum (FRS) initiated from a safety shutdown earthquake (SSE), 0.3 g, was applied to the support points of the PHTS pump, and then the seismic induced stresses were calculated. The structural integrity was evaluated according to the ASME code, and the LSP of the PHTS pump was calculated from the evaluation results. Based on the results of the modal analysis and LSP of the PHTS pump, design parameters affecting the LSP were selected. Then, ways to improve the LSP were proposed from sensitivity analysis of the selected design variables.

마이크로 박판 밸브 성형을 위한 마이크로 프레스 개발 (Development of Micro Press for Forming the Micro Thin Foil Valve)

  • In this paper Research development about a micro metal forming manufacturing system has been developed. A micro forming system has been achieved in Japan and it's developed micro press is limited to single forming process. To coincide with the purpose to be more practical, research and development is necessary about the press which the multi forming process is possible. We set the development of the equipment including micro deep drawing, micro punching and micro restriking process to the goal. To achieve this goal, we set the application product to a micro thin foil valve which is used in the micro pump module. The compound die set has been designed and manufactured to make two step process. The material of thin foil valve is SUS-304 and its thickness is 50$\mu$m. We can get a good forming results from micro punching experiments in this paper.

  • This paper presents the development technology of standard resistor divider for full lightning impulse voltage. The ability of high voltage bulk power equipment to withstand lighting stroke is usually evaluated by means of full lightning impulse voltage. Lightning impulse voltage test has been essential to evaluate the insulation performance of electrical power apparatus. Recently International standard (IEC 60) on high voltage measurement techniques is being revised and requests a formal traceability of high voltage measurements. Therefore, general interest for this area has grown considerably during last years, and several international intercomparisions have been completed already worldwide, i.e. Europe, Japan, America etc.. In this viewpoint, we have also investigated the standard resistor divider with shield, which satisfies the IEC recommendation.
