Plug-and-Play Framework for Connectivity Control and Self-Reconfiguration of Weapon System Components (무기체계 구성장치의 연결성 제어 및 자율 재구성을 위한 플러그앤플레이 프레임워크)

  • A study on common modular design based on open standards to reduce the life cycle cost of ground weapon system is underway. Since the ground weapon system includes major mission equipment such as fire control system, it is essential to apply the concept of fault tolerance through automatic reconfiguration and blocking unspecified equipment through connectivity control. However, it is difficult to generalize due to the difference in operating characteristics for each system. In this paper, we propose a plug-and-play framework, which includes plug-and-play architecture and mechanism. The proposed method can be used in common by the application of each component as it is divided into a common service layer. In addition, the proposed connectivity control and autonomous reconfiguration method facilitates reflection of operating characteristics for each system. We constructed a verification environment that can simulate ground weapon systems and components, and verified that the proposed framework works through scenario-based functional tests.

  • The most important thing in the ship is safety. In this paper, we discussed a development of the education system on various equipments concerned to safety. It may increase the effect of the education for the equipment by showing the details of safety equipments, general account, a manual, LSA(Life Saving Appliance) Code and SOLAS convention through an image on a screen.

  • We research and develop a SW-based virtual testing product that can be commonly used in the design/development of non-communication EW systems before the production of physical test products. Through this study, we have developed M&S technology to improve the accuracy of EW weapon system analysis/design and to verify and predict the performance of EW equipment, and to develop proven engineering module models and model base systems. It proposes a technology to build an EW M&S framework that can flexibly link/integrate various engineering/engage-level EW heterogeneous M&S systems.

A Development of Methodology for NOVEC Gas Fire Extinguishing System (NOVEC 가스 소화 설비 설계방법론 개발)

  • The most important thing for NOVEC gas fire extinguishing equipment is to release NOVEC gas, which contained in the extinguishing container, to the safety section by the time appointed. For this matter, it is significant to decide arrangement and size of the proper piping equipment. This study has developed the design methodology of NOVEC gas fire extinguishing equipment in use of pipe network analysis techniques. Based on the design methodology, each design coefficient is chosen. It is found that the calculated result, which is 6.498 seconds, has been counted within the 10 seconds limit, which is fairly satisfied with extinguishing releasing time based on the developed methodology. At that time, the pressure loss is 21.09bar.

  • Each on-board equipment providing navigational and engine information has different signals. These signals should be analyze, be transformed to the standard digital form and be transmitted to each client on board through the earlier developed ILU (integrated LAN unit). Therefore this paper was to analyze the signals of each equipment for navigation and engine and was to use the serial technology necessary for the equipment and IDU (information display unit). And this paper was then to develop an SIU (ship's interface unit) and to test it onboard.

  • The increasing application of electronic equipment has heightened the interest in power quality in recent years because there are economic impacts on utilities, customers, and suppliers of load equipment. The power quality would impose result in severe damage on many industrial customers. As having been supplied many kinds of electronic devices such as computer and communication equipment, automation equipment and various kinds of control devices etc., it comes to be more and more difficult to maintain the clean power quality. According to the restructuring in electricity industry the power quality may be treated as goods as contract terms and regulation elements between power supplier and consumer in the near future. Under the above environment, the power quality should be monitored for all day long with appropriate devices which is possible to measure and record the associated power quality data to prove each responsibility for the impacts when disputes arise due to power quality problems power quality problems are occurred. In this paper the authors propose some functions to be considered and system configuration to monitor the associated power quality elements in developing the web based power quality monitoring system.

  • The process of manufacturing printed electronics using printing technology is attracting attention because its process cost is lower than that of the conventional semiconductor process. This technology, which offers both a lower cost and higher productivity, can be applied in the production of organic TFT (thin film transistor), solar cell, RFID(radio frequency identification) tag, printed battery, E-paper, touch screen panel, black matrix for LCD(liquid crystal display), flexible display, and so forth. In general, in order to implement printed electronics, narrow width and gap printing, registration of multi-layer printing by several printing units, and printing accuracy of under $20\;{\mu}m$ are all required. These electronic products require high precision to the degree of tens of microns - in a large area with flexible material, and mass productivity at low cost. As such, the roll-to-roll printing process is attracting attention as a mass production system for these printed electronic devices. For the commercialization of this process, two basic electronic ink technologies, such as conductive ink and polymers, and printing equipment have to be developed. Therefore, this paper addressed basis design and test to develop fine patterning equipment employing the roll-to-roll printing equipment and electronic ink.
