A Study on Research Ethics and Education for Aviation Tourism Researchers

  • Purpose: Compared to the research results that have achieved remarkable growth, research ethics problems that threaten the quality of research. This issue appears not only in Korea but also in research societies worldwide where research competition has risen This study attempted to prepare improvements and institutional implications to establish research ethics in the research field. Research Design, data and methodology: This study examined total 26 prior studies to examine the current status of aviation tourism research ethics in the literature reviews for the finding section. The procedure of data obtaining included the elimination process to screen dissertation papers, conference papers, and internet sources. Results: Researchers must have an institutional mechanism to publish papers after completing education. Research ethics education programs suitable for aviation tourism research should be developed and detailed and clear guidelines for research ethics should be provided. This can prevent research irregularities. Conclusions: It is necessary to create a clear research ethics education for the spread of positive research ethics on aviation tourism researchers. Develop research ethics education and complete long-term compulsory education. Establish a research culture that requires compulsory completion of research education. It is necessary to support continuous education and learning through various research ethics methods.

  • In order to successfully develop papers and have them published in notable academic journals, researchers need to be fully informed and prepared regarding the challenges publication of papers present. This study focuses on approaches for improving likelihood of publication. It first examines the development process of papers and then addresses the importance of successful revisions after the review process. It then identifies several factors which can influence the performance of papers. Finally, it concludes by offering several implications for developing papers as well as suggestions for future research.

Reviewing Research on Laser Therapy of Atopic Dermatitis (아토피 피부염의 레이저 치료에 관한 논문 경향 분석)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends on the effects of laser therapy on atopic dermatitis. Methods : We searched papers using pubmed, First search used the keyword "Laser Therapy, Low-level and Atopic dermatitis". Inclusion criteria were last 10 years, RCT, Clinical trial, Human. Second search used the keyword "LLLT and Atopic dermatitis". Inclusion criteria were Human. Third search used the keyword "Laser and Atopic dermatitis". Inclusion criteria was the same as first search. Finally we searched papers using the keyword "Laser and Atopic dermatitis" in NDSL and RISS. Papers not matched with inclusion criteria were excluded. Results : A total 20 studies were found, 14 studies were excluded and 6 studies were selected and analyzed. They turned out to be effective and no serious side-effect, but there was mild side-effect in 2 papers out of 4 papers using high-level laser. Conclusions : Low-level laser and high-level laser therapy, both can be effectively used as an alternative to the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Thus further attention and studies are needed on this topic in order to reduce the side effects and demonstrate the effectiveness clearly.

Research Trends on Mindfulness Meditation in Korea (국내 저널에 게재된 마음챙김 명상관련 연구 동향 분석)

  • Background : Meditation is one healing therapy used to prevent and cure ailments and to improve health through regular practice. Although Meditation are within the paradigm of modern Western medical science, effects on the human body could be possible. Objectives : This study performed a systematic review of the literature published in Korea focused on mindfulness meditation (MM), which is being applied as mind-body therapy around the USA lately. Method : Three hundred sixty six articles were found after searching with keyword, 'mindfulness meditation (MM)' in 6 journals and web databases. Ninety papers related MM were analyzed trend. Result : Since the 2000s, MM papers in the Korean Literature is increased. Published 78 papers on psychology were most. 15 papers published in The Journal of Korean Psychological Association are the best in many areas related to psychology. Most people have submitted papers related to MM was Kim Jeong-ho. Conclusions : MM is being clinically applied at both western and oriental hospital in Korea, but more clinical trials with the high quality are needed to support its scientific basis.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the papers related to the "4th Industry". In order to analyze the papers, total of 685 papers were collected by searching with the keyword "4th industry" in Korea Journal Index(KCI) from 2016 to 2019. We used Python-based web scraping program to collect papers. As a result of analysis, it was confirmed that artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of things(IoT), digital, network and so on have emerged as the major technologies, and it was confirmed that research has been utilizing the major technologies in various fields related to the 4th industry such as industry, government, education field, and job.

Trends of Study and Classification of Literatures on Environmental Pollution in Korea (우리나라에서의 환경오염 관련 문헌분류 및 연구동향)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the valuable basic information that helps set the advanced direction of study in environmental pollution in the future. It classifies and analyzes 6, 531 papers according to their years, fields, and contents from 1962 to 1993 in Korea through Chunrian, a PC communication network, National Environment Research Institute(1989) in Seoul. Classifying papers by their fields, this study shows 19.6%(1, 281 papers) of total papers on water pollution, on which most emphasis was placed in the studies, 17.2%(1, 121 papers) on general remarks, 14.6%(952 papers) on environmental ecology, and 13.6%(891 papers) on air pollution. Classifying papers by their contents, this study tells us that the survey of state and evaluation of pollution degree took 28%(1, 829 papers) of total papers, and it seemed the most active study was carried out on this content. It then shows us that the treatment technology and mechanism shared 17.5%(1, 144 papers), and facilities and design took 1.9%(127 papers) which needed more studies in the future. As for the trends of study, the papers published until 1979 show that the water pollution accounted for 28.9% of total studies, on which the greatest emphasis was placed, while the papers in 1990s tell us that general remarks 34.7%, air pollution 14.9%, and water pollution 14.1%. It also shows that treatment technology and mechanism has had more importance since 1980s in water pollution, noise and vibration, waste materials, human wastes, and radioactive pollution. However, in sea pollution, policy and standard rather than treatment technology or method of measurement and analysis has been considered a more important one in 1990s. Analyzing the studies on general remarks, it tell us that the paper on environmental act, which were frequently conducted, accounted for 33.3% until 1979, while the papers on the environmental policy, in which the highest interest was kept, accounted 34.6% in 1990s. This study concludes that most papers had examined the survey on status and evaluation of pollution degree before 1980, while studies on solving the problems of environmental pollution have had more importance in the 1980s and 1990s. Therefore, in the future, more studies should be conducted actively on policy development to solve the problems of environment pollution as well as on encouragement of environmental consciousness.

Topic Modeling on Research Trends of Industry 4.0 Using Text Mining (텍스트 마이닝을 이용한 4차 산업 연구 동향 토픽 모델링)

  • In this research, text mining techniques were used to analyze the papers related to the "4th Industry". In order to analyze the papers, total of 685 papers were collected by searching with the keyword "4th industry" in Korea Journal Index(KCI) from 2016 to 2019. We used Python-based web scraping program to collect papers and use topic modeling techniques based on LDA algorithm implemented in R language for data analysis. As a result of perplexity analysis on the collected papers, nine topics were determined optimally and nine representative topics of the collected papers were extracted using the Gibbs sampling method. As a result, it was confirmed that artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of things(IoT), digital, network and so on have emerged as the major technologies, and it was confirmed that research has been conducted on the changes due to the major technologies in various fields related to the 4th industry such as industry, government, education field, and job.

A narrative review on the application of doubly labeled water method for estimating energy requirement for Koreans

  • Research articles were reviewed to validate the estimated energy requirements (EERs) equations developed by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies (IOM). These equations are based on total energy expenditure (TEE) measured by the doubly labeled water (DLW) method. We subsequently aimed to provide the basis for the suitability to apply the IOM equations as EER equations for Koreans, and develop relevant equations for EER in the Dietary Reference Intake for Koreans (KDRI). Additionally, besides the EER(IOM) equations, other equations were examined for EER estimation. Research papers demonstrating the validation of the EER(IOM) equations based on TEE(DLW) were searched through PubMed (up to September 2019). Of the 637 potentially relevant articles identified, duplicates and unsuitable titles and abstracts were excluded. Furthermore, papers with irrelevant subject and inappropriate study design were also excluded. Finally, 11 papers were included in the review. Among the reviewed papers, 8 papers validated the application of the EER(IOM) equations for EER based on TEE(DLW). These included 3 studies for children (USA 1, Korea 2), 1 for adolescents (Portugal), 2 for adults (Korean), and 2 for the elderly (Korea, USA). EER(IOM) equations were found to be generally acceptable for determining EER by using the DLW method, except for Korean boys at 9-11 yrs (overestimated) and female athletes at 19-24 yrs (underestimated). Additionally, 5 papers include the validation of other EER equations, beside EER(IOM) for EER based on TEE(DLW). In Japanese dietary reference intake and recommended dietary allowance, EER equations are acceptable for determining EER based on TEE(DLW). The EER(IOM) equations is generally acceptable for determining EER using the DLW method in Koreans as well as several populations, although certain defined groups were found to be unfit for the estimation. Additionally, the concept of healthy body mass index of Koreans and physical activity levels need to be considered, thereby providing the basis for developing relevant equations of EER in KDRI.

  • Since The Korean Reliability Society had been founded in 1999, development history of reliability engineering in Korea is reviewed and research outputs and papers from 2008 to current are analyzed in terms of types of industry, product life cycle, hardware vs software, and theory vs application. The purpose of this research is to review the recent reliability engineering research conducted in Korea including development history as well as published papers to identify the weakness and/or deficiencies in order to suggest the future research directions, which would contribute the development of industries in Korea.

The application of a nondestructive method to measure the acidity of Korean papers (한지의 산성도 측정을 위한 비파괴적 방법의 적용)

  • According to damage of papers by the chemical cause, papers become to acidify. Among the 3 kinds of method measuring the acidity of paper, one was nondestructive method measuring the surface of the paper by flat type electrode and the others were destructive methods measuring directly by cold water extract method and hot water extract method. In case of the cellulolytic cultural properties, the latter methods were not applied because those methods must bedissociated papers. To measure the paper acidity nondestructively, we investigated the correlation of the nondestructive method and the destructive methods. The conclusions are as follows. 1) In the relationship of the cold water extract method and the hot water extract method, It was indicated that the pH measured by the hot water extract method was high quality printing paper 0.08, rough printing paper 0.13, and Korean paper 0.29 higher than that by the cold water extract method.2) In the relationship of the cold water extract method and the surface measurement method, It showed that the pH value measured by the cold water extract method was high quality printing paper 1.86, rough printing paper 0.80,and Korean paper 0.58 higher than value that by the surface measurement.3) In the relationship of the hot water extract method and the surface measurement method, It showed that the pH value measured by the hot ABSTRACT water extract method was high quality printing paper 1.78, rough printing paper 0.66, and Korean paper 0.29 higher than that by the surface measurement. From the above-mentioned results, the pH value measured by the surface measurement was need to high about 1.78∼1.86 in high quality printing paper, 0.66-0.80 in rough printing paper, and 0.29∼0.58 in Korean paper and the surface measurement with flat type electrode was very available to measure the acidity of Korean papers actually.
