IT outsourcing (ITO) is an integration of two firms-external vendor(s) and a client firm-IT resources by contract. According to resource-based view(RBV), three different resources-ITO vendor's resource, client firm's resource, and the relationship resource between two firms- may have an impact on ITO performance. However, there have been few previous studies considering all three IT resources simultaneously. There have been also few empirical studies in ITO context, which test Bharadwaj (2000)'s findings: 1) IT resources can be divided into tangible IT asset and intangible IT capability, and 2) only IT capability has an impact on the IT performance. Therefore we examined whether, in ITO context, all three different resources have a significant impact on ITO performance. Adopting the findings of previous IT studies, we also divided IT resource into IT asset and IT capability. To achieve this research objective, we analyzed 62 ITO cases of 45 companies being listed in Korean top 100 companies for recent 3 years. Also, we analyzed the data with the Partial Least Squares method. The results of this research lead to the following conclusions: First, only when partnership is high, ITO vendors' resource can have an influence on ITO performance. Second, only client firm's IT capability, not IT asset, is directly related to the ITO success. Third, a firm's IT capability can increase the partnership. Therefore, we concluded that 1) RBV is also an useful theory in ITO context, 2) Bharadwaj(2000)'s suggestion is valid in ITO context as well, and 3) the relationship resource is also important in ITO.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure(VDI) adoption. VDI performance was measured by IS manager (system quality, security, and managerial operation) and business user (usability, access, and user satisfaction). The survey questionnaires were developed for measuring VDI performance. 84 data samples were collected from the companies that had adopted cloud-based VDI. This research model was verified by Smart-PLS and SPSS. The research findings were as follows: First, the companies using VDI experienced actual performance, but they did not attain their expectation. Second, as results of comparing between IS managers and business users, IS administrators had considerably higher performance than business users, which indicates that there were big differences in performance perception among users. Compared with prior research such as technical trend, system construction, and performance improvement, this study has the following implications. First, by comparing the expected performance with the actual performance of the companies that have implemented and operating VDI, it was suggested how a company that wants to adopt VDI can manage the expectation level of VDI and achieve higher actual performance. Second, because the perception of VDI performance differs between business users and system managers, it is meaningful that a fair evaluation of VDI performance requires a balanced consideration of business users and system managers.
Nowadays an increasing number of Internet users are running individual websites as Blog or Cyworld. As this type of personal media has a great influence on communication among people, business comes to care about Network Effect, Network Software, and Social Network. For instance, Cyworld created the web service called 'Minihompy' for individual web-logs, and acquired 2.4milion users in 2007. Although many people assumed that the popularity of Minihompy, or Blog would be a passing fad, Cyworld has improved its service, and expanded its Network with various contents. This kind of expansion reflects survival efforts from infinite competitions among ISPs (Internet Service Provider) with focus on enhancing usability to users. However, Cyworld's Network Effect is gradually diminished in these days. Both of low production cost of service vendors and the low searching/conversing costs of users combine to make ISPs hard to keep their market share sustainable. To overcome this lackluster trend, Cyworld has adopted new strategies and try to lock their users in their service. Various efforts to improve the continuance and expansion of Network effect remain unclear and uncertain. If we understand beforehand how a service would improve Network effect, and which service could bring more effect, ISPs can get substantial help in launching their new business strategy. Regardless many diverse ideas to increase their user's duration online ISPs cannot guarantee 'how the new service strategies will end up in profitability. Therefore, this research studies about Network effect of Cyworld's 'Minihompy' using System-Dynamics method which could analyze dynamic relation between users and ISPs. Furthermore, the research aims to predict changes of Network Effect based on the strategy of new service. 'Page View' and 'Duration Time' can be enhanced for the short tenn because they enhance the service functionality. However, these services cannot increase the Network in the long-run. Limitations of this research include that we predict the future merely based on the limited data. We also limit the independent variables over Network Effect only to the following two issues: Increasing the number of users and increasing the Service Functionality. Despite of some limitations, this study perhaps gives some insights to the policy makers or others facing the stiff competition in the network business.
Most past studies on the Critical Success Factors of Company Informatization focused on the completeness of Informatization and its financial effect, and there have not been enough studies on whether a company's management strategies can be supported by establishing Informatization direction. This implies that there must be verification on the followings; whether Informatization focuses on steering the implementation of management strategies, what correlation there are between major mechanism factors and Informatization performance. This also implies that there must be a new study to re-interpret the existing success factors of Informatization into strategic management paradigm. The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the influence of subject, environment, resource, and mechanism factors on informatization achievement, and to analyze the differences in influence of informatization success factors on informatization achievement depending on domestic large corporations and SMEs. This study presented the verification results for seven research hypotheses. It was confirmed through empirical analysis that securing resource factor was significant in informatization performance and that all sub-factors of learning mechanism and coordination mechanism were also significant in enterprise informatization achievement. In addition, it was confirmed through the control effect analysis depending on enterprise size that the differences in informatization performance of large corporations and SMEs are due to support environment factor, learning mechanism, and selection mechanism. The implications of this study are as follows: First, the significance of mechanism factors such as learning, internal coordination, and external coordination are relatively higher than other factors in informatization achievement. Secondly, informatization success factors that SMEs must focus on achieving are presented by analyzing the differences on informatization achievement of large corporations and SMEs. Third, since empirical research for informatization success mechanism factors not covered empirically in the prior research was directly progressed, it is thought that it could provide a comprehensive understanding for mechanism factors. In addition, this study is thought to provide a practical contribution that can be applied to other industrial areas and enterprises.
The purpose of this study was to empirically verify the effect of social entrepreneurship on market orientation. total of 500 questionnaires were distributed to workers in social enterprise and preliminary social enterprise. 202 questionnaires were used for final validation of research model, The hypotheses set in this study were validated through SPSS18.0 and LISREL8.3 based on the research model. The results showed that all hypotheses were accepted, except for 5 hypotheses(Hypothesis 1-1, Hypothesis 1-2, Hypothesis 1-3, Hypothesis 1-6, Hypothesis 1-9). First, we examined the effect that empathy might have on market orientation in connection with social entrepreneurship. The results suggested that empathy did not have a statistically significant effect on customer-orientation, inter-department cooperation and coordination, and competitor orientation. Second, we examined the effect that innovativeness might have on market orientation in connection with social entrepreneurship. The results showed that innovativeness had a positive(+) effect on customer-orientation and inter-department cooperation and coordination but did not have a statistically significant effect on competitor-orientation. Third, we examined the effect that risk-taking might have on market orientation in connection with social entrepreneurship. The results implied that risk-taking had a positive(+) effect on customer-orientation and inter-department cooperation and coordination but did not have a statistically significant effect on competitor-orientation. Finally, the relationship among market orientation variables was like this: The inter-department cooperation and coordination had a positive(+) effect on both customer-orientation and competitor-orientation. The results of this study are expected to provide a useful basis for overall understanding about the effect of social entrepreneurship on market orientation and present important theoretical and practical implications.
The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of the high performance and the work system recognized by the organizational members participating in the NCS enterprise utilization consulting on the organizational effectiveness and the influence of the organizational performance. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the research hypotheses were verified by applying multiple regression analysis and co-integration regression analysis on the 145 usable results from using the statistical program of SPSS 24.0. The results of this study are as follows. First, hypothesis 1, the analysis of positive(+) influence on organizational effectiveness on the characteristics of the system (selection system, evaluation and compensation, education and training opportunity, member participation system, job stability) was adopted due to its' positive(+) and significant relationship. Second, hypothesis 2, an analysis that the organizational effectiveness would have a positive impact on organizational performance was adopted due to its' proven work. However, its' effectiveness will need verification. Third, regression analysis was conducted to confirm the role of the hypothesis 3, personnel management effectiveness, between the high performance and the work system (selection system, evaluation/compensation, education/training opportunity, member participation system, job stability). As a result, Hypothesis 3 showed that the selection system (H3-1), evaluation and compensation(H3-2), education and career opportunities(H3-3), member participation system(H3-4), job stability(H3-4) showed that organizational effectiveness has a moderating role in HR effectiveness. The main implication of this study is that the positive and working system recognized by the organizational members has positive affects on organizational effectiveness and organizational performance. In order to enhance the substantiality management system through improvement of organizational performance, a regular implementation plan on a high-performance working system along with education & training system to improve organizational effectiveness is required so that the members of the organization could form a consensus. Second, as a result of confirming the moderating effects of HR management effectiveness, the moderating role of HR management system and organization effectiveness was verified positive. Therefore, this study shows that the part that verifies both organizational effectiveness and organizational performance through high-performance working system and the part that confirmed the role of control between high-performance work system and organizational effectiveness are the biggest difference from the previous research.
A smart phone has been widely spread around world and makes people enjoy online shopping in any time and any place. Recently it also changes the distribution environment. O2O (Online-to-Offline) service becomes new normal due to its convenience of ease shopping of product and services. O2O service market shows steady and steep growth, It is reported that, however, 80% of the businesses has been discontinued within the first year because of unstable business models, customer dissatisfaction and distrust of service. Therefore, it is very important research issue to find out influential factors promoting continuous usage intention of O2O service. Previous study shows that it only considers online characteristics and lack of analysis about offline characteristics and social impact factors. The purpose of this paper is to find out continuous usage intention factors of O2O services by literature review, case analysis, and empirical test. A comprehensive research model and related hypothesis are developed and tested by using a structural equation, Survey was carried out among users who have used O2O service including payment service for at least once. Finally 611 samples are selected out of total 813 surveys. The result shows that the model is theoretically proved and 12 out of 17 hypotheses are accepted. The contribution of this paper is that it provides a new theoretical research model about continuous usage intention factors as well as practical guidelines about promoting continuous usage and growth strategies of O2O service.
The National Fire Safety Code (NFSC) sets forth the installation methods and technical standards of firefighting facilities. This information is stipulated in the attached Table 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Fire Prevention and Installation, Maintenance and Safety Control of Fire-Fighting Systems. The NFSC serves as a foundation for fire prevention and public safety. However, the current version of the NFSC has been under scrutiny due to its delayed enactment and revision process. This is because of its structural inflexibility, time-consuming procedures, and mixed usage of both performance and technical standards. Furthermore, there are difficulties with keeping its unique specialties due to the absence of a specialized, permanent independent entity that enacts, revises, and maintains its standards. Moreover, the NFSC lacks collectivity, openness, and consistency. Therefore, to overcome the aforementioned obstacles, this study investigates the operational and legal status of the NFSC and the problems regarding its enactment and revision process. Further, it presents suggestions for system improvement by analyzing and comparing the information with domestic and foreign counterparts dedicated to managing their similar technical NFSC standards. First, the study recommends that the legal performance and technical standards mixed within the current NFSC should be separated. Second, the enactment and revision of technical standards should be implemented by the private sector and not by the government. Third, technical standards should adopt a user-oriented approach for the code system.
This paper proposes an interference avoidance approach for Constraint-Based Routing (CBR) algorithm in the Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. The MPLS network itself has a capability of integrating among any layer-3 protocols and any layer-2 protocols of the OSI model. It is based on the label switching technology, which is fast and flexible switching technique using pre-defined Label Switching Paths (LSPs). The MPLS network is a solution for the Traffic Engineering(TE), Quality of Service (QoS), Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Constraint-Based Routing (CBR) issues. According to the MPLS CBR, routing performance requirements are capability for on-line routing, high network throughput, high network utilization, high network scalability, fast rerouting performance, low percentage of call-setup request blocking, and low calculation complexity. There are many previously proposed algorithms such as minimum hop (MH) algorithm, widest shortest path (WSP) algorithm, and minimum interference routing algorithm (MIRA). The MIRA algorithm is currently seemed to be the best solution for the MPLS routing problem in case of selecting a path with minimum interference level. It achieves lower call-setup request blocking, lower interference level, higher network utilization and higher network throughput. However, it suffers from routing calculation complexity which makes it difficult to real task implementation. In this paper, there are three objectives for routing algorithm design, which are minimizing interference levels with other source-destination node pairs, minimizing resource usage by selecting a minimum hop path first, and reducing calculation complexity. The proposed CBR algorithm is based on power factor calculation of total amount of possible path per link and the residual bandwidth in the network. A path with high power factor should be considered as minimum interference path and should be selected for path setup. With the proposed algorithm, all of the three objectives are attained and the approach of selection of a high power factor path could minimize interference level among all source-destination node pairs. The approach of selection of a shortest path from many equal power factor paths approach could minimize the usage of network resource. Then the network has higher resource reservation for future call-setup request. Moreover, the calculation of possible path per link (or interference level indicator) is run only whenever the network topology has been changed. Hence, this approach could reduce routing calculation complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has good performance over high network utilization, low call-setup blocking percentage and low routing computation complexity.

As remote sensing technologies are evolving, and more satellites are orbited, the demand for using satellite data for disaster monitoring is rapidly increasing. Although natural and social disasters have been monitored using satellite data, constraints on establishing an integrated satellite-based near real-time disaster monitoring system have not been identified yet, and thus a novel framework for establishing such system remains to be presented. This research identifies constraints on establishing satellite data-based near real-time disaster monitoring systems by devising and testing a new conceptual framework of disaster monitoring, and then presents a feasible disaster monitoring system that relies mainly on acquirable satellite data. Implementing near real-time disaster monitoring by satellite remote sensing is constrained by technological and economic factors, and more significantly, it is also limited by interactions between organisations and policy that hamper timely acquiring appropriate satellite data for the purpose, and institutional factors that are related to satellite data analyses. Such constraints could be eased by employing an integrated computing platform, such as Amazon Web Services(AWS), which enables obtaining, storing and analysing satellite data, and by developing a toolkit by which appropriate satellites'sensors that are required for monitoring specific types of disaster, and their orbits, can be analysed. It is anticipated that the findings of this research could be used as meaningful reference when trying to establishing a satellite-based near real-time disaster monitoring system in any country.
