은행 지점의 효율성 평가: DEA 모형을 이용한 분석 절차 및 사례 분석 (Efficiency Assessment of Bank Branches: An Analysis Process Using DEA Model and Case Analysis)

  • Recently, the assessment of a bank efficiency focusing on its branches has been conceived as important in developing a competitive strategy. DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model can be employed as an effective analysis model for such an assessment. Therefore, this paper proposes an analysis process using DEA model to conduct an efficiency assessment of bank branches. The proposed process includes a segmentation of branches considering their competitive environment and strategy for target market : this approach can help to develop effective strategies for each group of branches. The proposed DEA model can analyze efficiency in terms of not only cost but also marketing. Finally, a real case is analyzed, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed model and process.

  • The improvement of luminance and luminous efficiency is the one of the most important parts in AC-PDPs. To achieve high luminance and luminous efficiency, high VUV emission efficiency is needed. We measured the emission spectra of the vacuum ultraviolet(VUV) rays in surface discharge AC-PDP with ternary gas mixture of He-Ne-Xe. The influence of He-Ne-Xe gas-mixture ratio on excited $Xe^{\ast}$ resonant atoms and $Xe_2\;^{\ast}$ dimers has been investigated. It is found that luminous efficiency of ternary gas mixture, He-Ne-Xe, is shown to be much higher than that of binary gas mixture of Ne-Xe. For improving discharge luminous efficiency, we have studied VUV emission characteristics of ternary gas mixture, He(50%)-Ne-Xe and He(70%)-Ne-Xe with Xe concentration and filling gas pressure.

Efficiency improvement of a DC/DC converter using LTCC substrate

  • We propose a substrate with high thermal conductivity, manufactured by the low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) multilayer circuit process technology, as a new DC/DC converter platform for power electronics applications. We compare the reliability and power conversion efficiency of a converter using the LTCC substrate with the one using a conventional printed circuit board (PCB) substrate, to demonstrate the superior characteristics of the LTCC substrates. The power conversion efficiencies of the LTCC- and PCB-based synchronous buck converters are 95.5% and 94.5%, respectively, while those of nonsynchronous buck converters are 92.5% and 91.3%, respectively, at an output power of 100 W. To verify the reliability of the LTCC-based converter, two types of tests were conducted. Storage temperature tests were conducted at -20 ℃ and 85 ℃ for 100 h each. The variation in efficiency after the tests was less than 0.3%. A working temperature test was conducted for 60 min, and the temperature of the converter was saturated at 58.2 ℃ without a decrease in efficiency. These results demonstrate the applicability of LTCC as a substrate for power conversion systems.

  • Minimum Energy Performance Standard(MEPS) has been adapted in Korea since 2008. The efficiency standard of variable speed motors is scheduled for publication shortly. In this paper, author reviews the technical trends associated with a high efficient electric motors by reference to research papers, and reviews the research direction to prepare for IE5. This paper provides an overview of high efficiency motors. Various applications have been covered.

Design of 32 bit Parallel Processor Core for High Energy Efficiency using Instruction-Levels Dynamic Voltage Scaling Technique

  • This paper describes design of high energy efficiency 32 bit parallel processor core using instruction-levels data gating and dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) techniques. We present instruction-levels data gating technique. We can control activation and switching activity of the function units in the proposed data technique. We present instruction-levels DVS technique without using DC-DC converter and voltage scheduler controlled by the operation system. We can control powers of the function units in the proposed DVS technique. The proposed instruction-levels DVS technique has the simple architecture than complicated DVS which is DC-DC converter and voltage scheduler controlled by the operation system and a hardware implementation is very easy. But, the energy efficiency of the proposed instruction-levels DVS technique having dual-power supply is similar to the complicated DVS which is DC-DC converter and voltage scheduler controlled by the operation system. We simulate the circuit simulation for running test program using Spectra. We selected reduced power supply to 0.667 times of the supplied power supply. The energy efficiency of the proposed 32 bit parallel processor core using instruction-levels data gating and DVS techniques can improve about 88.4% than that of the 32 bit parallel processor core without using those. The designed high energy efficiency 32 bit parallel processor core can utilize as the coprocessor processing massive data at high speed.

  • Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a methodology of computing the relative efficiency of each decision making unit (DMU) by comparing it with other DMUs having similar input and output structure. In this paper, we compare the efficiency of Korean rail transit corporations using DEA. To do this, we design a DEA-AR/AHP model, and evaluate efficiency by comparing the subway operating agencies of six big cities. The analysis reveals that Seoul Metro and Seoul city railroad construction turn out to be the most efficient groups. The result of this research can provide helpful information for effective management in a domestic subway operating agency.

Ultrahigh Efficiency from Novel Blue Emitters Using a Rational Molecular Design

  • We investigated new deep blue emitting materials including a novel side group such as CB-203. CB-203 shows relatively 40% increased PL quantum efficiency and higher Tg of $30^{\circ}C$ compared to MADN. It exhibits high External Quantum Efficiency (EQE) of 7.18% that is two times bigger than MADN's, which is the best efficiency in case of non-doped blue fluorescence OLED device to our knowledge. And deep blue emitting materials with a new core structure (CB-301) have been synthesized. CB-301 exhibit excellent blue fluorescence properties. Undoped OLED devices using CB-301 as blue emitters was found to deep blue CIE value (0.154, 0.078) and exhibit high luminance efficiencies of 2.01cd/A at $10\;mA/cm^2$.

  • The unpredicted worldwide oil price makes the energy efficiency technology be more importance than any other period. The small cogeneration system is one of the most representative technology among the energy efficiency technologies, and the Stirling engine cogeneration system has been concerned and investigated due to the preferable characteristics - low toxic emission, low noise and vibration level, and the various form of fuel. A tiny, 1kW of electrical output, gas fueled Stirling engine cogeneration system was investigated. The electrical efficiency and thermal efficiency of the system were measured. The experiment was executed at an independent Stirling engine mode, independent secondary burner mode, and the combined mode. Part load characteristics of the Stirling engine cogeneration system were investigated also. With the efficiency characteristics, the $O_2$ and NOx emission characteristics were measured.

An Experimental and Numerical Study on Thermal Performance of a Regenerator System with Ceramic Honeycomb

  • The aim of this paper is to perform the experiment and the numerical simulation for investigating the heat transfer in a regenerator system with ceramic honeycomb and to suggest a useful correlation for optimization of the regenerator system. For achieving this, the effects of some parameters were investigated, e. g., switching time, cell size and length of honeycomb on the mean temperature efficiency. The measured temperatures by R-type thermocouples were compared with the predictions by means of the commercial package, STAR-CD. A useful correlation for thermal efficiency was newly proposed as a function of the normalized switching time, defined in terms of switching time, cell size and length of honeycomb. The results showed that the thermal efficiency is above 90% and the normalized heat exchange rate is higher than 80% when the normalized switching time is less than 1000.

입자상물질과 VOCs 동시제거 실증장치에서 자동차 페인트 부스 발생 paint aerosol과 VOCs의 동시제거 성능 특성 (Performance characteristics of simultaneous removal equipment for paint particulate matter and VOCs generated from a spraying paint booth)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the performance characteristics of the paint particulate and volatile organic compounds(VOCs) simultaneous removal from the spraying paint booth in the laboratory and real site by sticky paint particulate and VOCs simultaneous removal demonstration unit. The sticky paint particulate and VOCs simultaneous removal unit is composed of the horizontal type pleated filter modules and the zig-zag type granular activated carbon packing modules. The test conditions at the laboratory are $50.15g/m^3$ of average paint aerosol concentration and 300 ppm of VOCs concentration which were same as the working conditions of spraying paint booth in the real site. But, the demonstration conditions at the real site are varied according to the working condition of spraying paint booth for the kind of passenger car bodies. The test results at the laboratory obtained that 99% of total particulate collection efficiency at 0.62 m/min of filtration velocity and 84% at 1.77 m/min of filtration velocity. The VOCs removal efficiencies are 97% at $3500hr^{-1}$ of gas hour space velocity and 59% at $10,000hr^{-1}$ of gas hour space velocity. In the real site test, the average removal efficiency of PM10 was measured to be 99.65%, the average removal efficiency of PM2.5 was 99.38%, the average removal efficiency of PM1 was 98.52%, and the average removal efficiency of VOCs was 89%.
