  • In this study, we compared and analysed the early strength properties of mortar according to the kinds and replacement ratio of mineral admixture to select the kinds and replacement ratio of mineral admixture of high early strength concrete. For this purpose, mortar mixtures according to the kinds(FA, MK, ZR, BFS, DM) and replacement ratio(0, 2, 4% by volume of sand) of mineral admixture were selected. From our test data, early-age compressive strength decreased in accordance with the increase of replacement ratio of fly-ash(FA) & blast furnace slag powder(BSF) and, in case of addintion admixture, early-age compressive strength of with containing ZR & BFS appeared higher compared with containing other mineral admixture.

  • With an increased use of alternative aggregate due to exhaustion of quality aggregate resources, the amount of used crushed aggregates have been increased and as a result, development of admixture materials has also been improved and its amount of use is increasing from day to day in order to secure quality in concrete. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to make concrete of good quality by using chemical admixture developed in this study by replacement rate of fine aggregate. At first, susceptibility, compressive strength ratio and length change ratio in both fresh and hardened concrete were evaluated according to corresponding regulation. As for high performance related regulation, APC NO.3 and PC series were going to rule, and as for AE agent regulation, replacement ratio of fine aggregate of high performance chemical admixture was 10:0 and other chemical admixture met quality regulation for AE agent.

  • Recently, due to the increase of high-rise buildings construction, many researches for making harden of concrete earlier and remove of forms faster are being performed to reduce construction period. In this study, we compared and analysed the early strength properties of mortar according to the kinds and replacement ratio of mineral admixture to select the kinds and replacement ratio of mineral admixture of high early strength concrete. For this purpose, mortar mixtures according to the kinds(FA, MK, ZR, BFS, DM) and replacement ratio(0, 2, 4% by volume of sand) of mineral admixture were selected. From our test data, early-age compressive strength decreased in accordance with the increase of replacement ratio of fly-ash(FA) & blast furnace slag powder(BSF) and, in case of addition admixture, early-age compressive strength of with containing 4% appeared higher compared with containing 2%.

  • Carbonation and drying shrinkage are very important properties of concrete, that can cause concrete to lower its capacity and spall. But the research on them in high strength concrete is very poor. In this study, to estimate influences of W/B, the kind of admixture, the replacement ratio of admixture, fineness of blast furnace and etc. on drying shrinkage and carbonation, we make experiment with 3 levels(28, 35, 55%) of W/B, 3 kinds(blast-furnace slag, fly-ash, silica-fume) of admixture, 3 levels of the replacement ratio, 3 levels(4000, 6000, 8000cm2/g) of fineness of blast-furnace slag and 2 kinds of curing condition. As the results, compressive strength of concrete was decreased, as W/C was increased and the replacement ratio of admixture was increased. Drying shrinkage was increased, as W/B was higher, the replacement ratio of admixture was increased and fineness of blast-furnace slag was decreased. And carbonation was increased, as W/B ratio was higher, the replacement ratio of admixture was increased.

  • In this study, we considered the characteristic of drying shrinkage from age of high strength concrete with garnet minute powder to be industry by-product. The factors of experiment are unit water content$(160kg/m^3)$, water-binder ratio(30, $35\%$), fine aggregate ratio(40, 42, $44\%$), admixture replacement ratio(0, 10, $20\%$), admixture type(garnet minute powder, fly ash, blast-furnace slag). We make a comparative study of shrinkage about concrete with a passage of age(1, 3, 7, 14, 28, 56, 91 days). As a result of experiment, we reach a conclusion as follow. In the same mix condition, as unit water content and fine aggregate ratio go up, the drying shrinkage ratio increase. In the drying shrinkage ratio according to admixture replacement ratio, it goes up when admixture replacement Ratio increase in case of fly ash and blast-furnace slag. But, drying shrinkage ratio decrease when admixture replacement ratio increase in case of garnet minute powder.

  • The purpose of this study is to raise the strength of concrete with admixture. The natural zeolites and mud stone, abundant in this country, were used as admixture for high-strengthening of concrete. Proper workability was gained by using the superplasticizer. The optimum replacement ratio of zeolite mud stone was 10% on unit -cement amount. At these optimum replacement ratio, the strength development over the plain concrete was 34% for zeolite and 16% for mud stone. Through this study, we concluded the natural zeolite and mud stone were adequate admixture for the high-strengthening of concrete.

  • The purpose of this experimental study are to produce a durable concrete and to investigate the various factors that can deteriorate the concrete when freezing and thawing activity. Among the various factors that can influence the frost resistance of concrete, this study examined mainly the relationship of the frost resistance with the water-cement ratio, admixture and admixture replacement ratio and propose the available water-cement ratio, admixture and admixture replacement ratio.

  • A variety of researches on the concrete with high volume mineral admixture have increased in recent years. In fact, it is very important to find appropriate replacement ratio of concrete with high volume mineral admixture in order to apply in the field. In this study, compressive strength according to fly ash and blast furnace slag replacement ratio as well as curing temperature was measured in the conditions of obtaining the same workability in order to examine the characteristics of concrete with high volume mineral admixture. In conclusion, it was found that the compressive strength at the age of 3 days decreased by 1.4MPa and the compressive strength at the age of 28 days decreased by 3.8MPa when the fly ash replacement ratio increased by 10%. Also, it was found that the compressive strength at the age of 3 days decreased by 1.0MPa and the compressive strength at the age of 28 days decreased by 0.9MPa when the blast furnace slag replacement ratio increased by 10%. Through the tests, we obtained the basic data for developing the future research on the concrete with high volume mineral admixture for housing structure.

  • This paper investigate that the effect of the concrete containing mineral admixtures(pozzolanic materials such as fly-ash, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, silica fume and meta kaolin) on the resistance properties to chloride ion invasion. The purposed testing procedure was applied to the concrete added mineral admixtures for 3~4 replacement ratios under W/B ratios ranged from 0.40 to 0.55. For the electrical migration test, Tang and Nilsson's method was used to estimate the migration coefficient of chloride ion. As a results, the W/B ratios, kinds of admixture and replacement ratios, water curing periods had a great effect on the migration coefficient of chloride ion, and the optimal replacement ratios of admixture had a limitation for each admixtures. Also, the addition of mineral admixtures by mass(replacement of OPC) enhanced the resistance of the mixture to chloride penetration compared with the plain concrete. The amount of acid soluble chloride ions and water soluble chloride ions were varied with the kinds of mineral admixtures. The compressive strength was shown related to the migration coefficient of chloride ion, the compressive strength increased with the decreasing migration coefficient of chloride ion. Below the 50MPa, the variation of migration coefficient of concrete added mineral admixtures was bigger than plain concrete.
