조각보와 매듭을 활용한 전통 배자 디자인 개발 (Development of Traditional Baeja Design Applied Jogakbo and Knot)

  • In this study, Creative motifs using face composition of Jogakbo and Knot Symbol were developed, and applied to traditional Baeja of Joseon Dynasty to develop design contents of traditional clothes. As for study method, 7 motifs of new formative image that integrates traditional beauty and contemporary sense were developed by applying Knot Symbols and face compositions of Jogakbo with the use of Adobe Illustrator CS6 and Adobe Photoshop CS6 vector graphic software. The motifs were designed in contemporary image in face compositions like rectangle pattern, triangle pattern, dual rectangle pattern, vertical and horizontal pattern, pinwheel pattern, gojunmun pattern and free pattern by involving various changes like repetition, rotation, reduction, expansion and decomposition and using the colors used in the Jogakbo. It is desired that through this study, traditional Baeja may develop to bear traditional and contemporary image so that our traditional clothes design may become global. Also it is anticipated that this study will contribute to development of culture products of Hanbok like Jeogori, pants and skirt that require change of design in the global era while maintaining traditional beauty to appeal to the emotions of world citizens.

다중 패치를 이용한 예제 기반 영상 인페인팅 (Exemplar-based Image Inpainting Using Multiple Patches)

  • 영상 인페인팅(Image Inpainting)은 영상에서 손상된 영역을 제거하고 제거한 영역을 주변 영역과 유사하게 채워 넣어 자연스럽게 만E는 영상 복원의 한 기법이다. 그러나 제거할 영액이 클 경우, 복원한 결과의 구조가 자연스럽지 않아 원하지 않는 영상을 획득할 수 있는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 화소 값 차이뿐만 아니라 거리 정보를 고려한 다중 패치들을 사용하는 향상된 예제 기반 영상 인페인팅 기법을 제안한다. 일반적인 예제 기반 영상 인페인팅 기법에서는 패치를 잘못 선택함으로써 블록 현상 같은 부자연스러운 결과들이 발생할 수 있다. 이런 문제점을 개선하기 위해 채워질 패치와 원본 영역에서의 패치들 간의 공간상 거리와 화소 값 차이를 둘 다 고려하여 여러 후보 패치들을 선택하고 선택된 패치들의 가중치를 적용하여 새로운 구조와 질감 정보를 생성하는 것을 제안한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 방법을 이용한 결과가 기존의 방법을 이용한 결과보다 구조와 질감 정보가 보다 향상된 결과를 보여준다.

컴퓨터를 활용한 유머 이미지 패션디자인 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Computers to the Development of Humor Image Fashion Design)

  • Due to the rapid changes occurring in many aspects of contemporary society, the need for a means to actively combat widespread feelings of emptiness and alienation among the public, while satisfying its visual pleasure, is increasing. Thus the need for humorous elements which bring freedom to the human psyche is urgently requested. Of course, the field of fashion cannot be left out in this trend, and humor image design is a good example of this. Humor image in fashion endeavors to release the tension accumulated in the modern world, while trying to find a way to recover the original pureness of mankind. Another aspect currently important is computers. The creation of images in modern visual art relies a lot upon computers. Traditional visual processes such as painting, photography and video are now merged within digital technology. and are now quite symbiotic to each other. With the development of computers came computer art. which uses all applicable functions of a computer to create art. Any artistic action which uses a computer in any stage of its creation can be called computer art. The common factor in humor and computer art in modern fashion can be classified as follows : repetition, deformation and distortion. exaggeration and abridgement. juxtaposition. and Tromp l'oeil. This study has placed its objective on the fusion of humor image fashion and computer art, by manufacturing a work with humor and computers, two important aspects of modern culture. Expanding the field of fashion design while promoting creativity In fashion by finding a verging point between art and science is also necessary. I have designed and made five costumes using the above cited techniques in computer humor images, on a theoretical basis.

FCM을 이용한 3차원 영상 정보의 패턴 분할 (The Pattern Segmentation of 3D Image Information Using FCM)

  • 본 논문은 공간 부호화 패턴들을 이용하여 3차원 얼굴 정보를 정확하게 측정하기 위하여 초기 얼굴 패턴 영상으로부터 이미지 패턴을 검출하기 위한 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 획득된 영상이 불균일하거나 패턴의 경계가 명확하지 않으면 패턴을 분할하기가 어렵다. 그리고 누적된 오류로 인하여 코드화가 되지 않는 영역이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요인에 강하고 코드화가 잘 될 수 있도록 FCM 클러스터링 방법을 이용하였다. 패턴 분할을 위하여 클러스터는 2개, 최대 반복횟수는 100, 임계값은 0.00001로 설정하여 실험하였다. 제안된 패턴 분할 방법은 기존 방법들(Otsu, uniform error, standard deviation, Rioter and Calvard, minimum error, Lloyd)에 비해 8-20%의 분할 효율을 향상시켰다.

  • Fractal mathematics is being highlighted as a research method for classification of image. But the application of Fractal dimension(FD) has been required the complicated calculation method because of its complex repetition progressing. In this paper, it has been developed the new approach method to express the Fractal Dimension(FD) for aging level calculation and estimation system of outside insulator using special image processing algorithm. As a result after FD testing, the recognized aging estimation of FD has a very characteristics compared to the conventional visual inspection.

악관절에 대한 자기 공명 영상의 연구 (A STUDY ON MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING OF THE TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT)

  • Examinations of the temporomandibular joints were performed on a 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance (MR) system. An MR surface receiver coil 3 inch in diameter was placed on plastic frame, the patient's head being placed in the frame so that the coil was pressed against the temporal region. In taking advantage of the magnetic resonance imaging that has been studied briskly till now, author obtained the images of parasagittal and paracoronal planes about the temporomandibular joint by using MPGR (Multi-Planar Gradient Recalled), GRASS (Gradient Recalled Acquisition in the Steady State), and CSMEMP (Contiguous Slice Multiple Echo, Multi-Planar), that differ from the Spin Echo pulse sequence which the previous authors used. Five subjects with no symptoms of temporomandibular joint pain and dysfunction were studied. The plane images obtained by these methods were compared with those by Spin Echo pulse sequence. The results were as follows: 1. The optimal repetition times (TR) and echo times (TE) for T.M.J. image were; a. 400 msec and 18 msec in PMGR pulse sequence. b. 40 msec and 12 msec in GRASS pulse sequence. c. 700 msec and 30 msec in CSMEMP pulse sequence. d. 500 msec and 20 msec in Spin Echo pulse sequence. 2. When the MPGR pulse sequence was using, T2-weighted image was obtained in very short time. On the image of the paracoronal plane by GRASS pulse sequence, meniscus showed the moderate signal intensity, and the meniscus and its anteromedial, posterolateral attachments were observed definitely with gray color. 4. The signal intensity of Spin Echo pulse sequence was equal to that of CSMEMP pulse sequence, but the image by CSMEMP pulse sequence showed relatively lower level in its resolution.

공간디자인의 비(非)물질화 경향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dematerializing Tendency in Contemporary Space Design)

  • This paper illustrates what the reality of architectural concepts, materials, notions and phenomena are as central questions of contemporay space design. These issues form the goal of modern space design which should attain to the reality of an era when non-real values prevail. Despite the trends of an everchanging and ephemeral dominating quality in architecture for the last ten years, architects still aim to contruct everlasting space on earth. The trends of dematerialization in today's space design can be substantiated in spatial-temporal dimensions as follows. First of all, ephemeral architecture with concepts of hypothetical temporality, everchanging architecture in fluidity, and the transparent architecture with the floating and overlapping image can be analyzed in the dimension of 'time'. In terms of 'space', void quality for the expression of emptiness, neutral space by the simplified and summarized forms, expanded space through ambiguous boundaries and spatial repetition can becharacterized and also be intended strategies for lightness, state of flux, ambiguity, paradox etc., lead modern space design along that path. As this point, we need to pay attention to the so-called 'hypersurface' concept proposed by Stephen Perella. Hypersurface is a sort of cladding sheathing existence independent from the primary structure. With it, the integration between form and image can be achieved. Sometimes hypersurface can be a strategical screen for image projection, a cognitive receptor for surroundings as well as a catalyst for information and communication systems. When the situation dematerializes more and more as the years go on, the concept of hypersurface can be an inclusive method between the phenomenological form in architecture and its self recipient image. Permissive atmospheres created between them in contemporary space design and new paradigms emerged with digital technology will further reinforce the human space's dynamism.

초음파 전립선 영상에서 전립선 경계 분할을 위한 평균 형상 모델 (An Average Shape Model for Segmenting Prostate Boundary of TRUS Prostate Image)

  • 전립선암은 전립선에 나타나는 악성 종양이다. 현재 그 발병률이 높아지고 있다. 전립선암의 구조를 가장 정확하게 확인할 수 있는 검사 방법은 MRI를 이용하는 것이나, 그 비용 때문에 모든 환자에게 적용하기는 어려운 실정이다. 그래서 많은 환자들은 가격이 저렴한 초음파검사를 이용하여 전립선암을 진단하고 있다. 전통적으로 의사들은 영상을 눈으로 확인하여 전립선의 경계를 수동으로 분할하였다. 그러나 수동으로 분할하는 과정은 시간이 많이 소요되며, 의사에 따라서 그 경계가 일정하지 않게 얻어진다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 전립선의 자동 분할에 관한 연구가 되었고, 환자들에게 신뢰를 줄 수 있었다. 본 연구는 초음파 전립선 영상에서 전립선의 경계를 분할하는데 평균 형상 모델을 적용하는 것이다. 먼저, 에지 분포를 이용하여 프로브를 찾고, 프로브와 연결된 두 직선을 찾는다. 이 후에 이 정보를 이용하여 전립선 영상 위에 평균 형상을 위치시킨다.

포스트모던 사회의 패션에 표현된 옵아트 (Op-Art in Fashion of Post-Modern Society)

  • OP-Art was not appreciated by painters and art critics. and according1y has been forgotten in art history. But recently Op-Art is revitalized in fashion and is in its palmy days. This study intends to re-assess the value of Op-Art, by reviewing its influence on fashion design in the post-modern society To this purpose, conceptual characteristics of Op-Art was analyzed. And then, on the bases of these characteristics, the figural characteristics and the meaning of Op-Art in fashion design of post-modern society was re-explained. Op-Art is characterized as an art of flatness of picture plane which uses repetition of simple forms and colors. It is also based on trick of visual perception. Finally. it creates an impression which is flickering or vibrating by means of optical illusion. These characteristics give birth to some features such as simplicity. anonymity and mobility in the Op-Art fashion. The meanings of Op-Art in fashion design in post-modern society are as follows. First, repetition of simple units employed in Op-Art produces feeling of simplicity. which makes the Op-Art fashion works perceived as polysemy. In other words, the feeling of simplicity can be interpreted In diverse perspectives within the social context of our society. The material civilization and technology civilization, which causes the alienation and standardization of man. can be the backgrounds of the Op-Art fashion. Second, Op-Art is an art based on perspectives of spectators. Anonymity in the Op-Art fashion enhances participation of spectators. which gives Op-Art a sense of affinity. Third, through the feeling of mobility created by optical illusion techniques. the Op-Art fashion expresses the opposition to the ideal body image made by power group. In post-modern society, Op-Art in fashion gives new meaning to art. Op-Art in fashion proposes new roles of artist and spectators, and new concepts of art related with roles of human beings. Through general sensibility of men, Op-art in fashion can express new recognition of the post-modern society.

패션에 나타난 카무플라주 패턴의 시각적 표현특성 (A Study on the Visual Characteristics of Camouflage Patterns in Fashion Design)

  • Camouflage is evaluated by scientific principle in the fields of biology, military science, and art. It has a strong influence on contemporary fashion and means exposure with concealment. This study analyzed the visual characteristics of camouflage patterns in fashion design through documentaries and fashion photos. The fashion design results areas follow. The simple blending of a disruptive motif indicated an inaccurate repetition of a disruptive motif, the discontinuous or continuous connection of disruptive motif, the irregular repetition of a disruptive animal silhouette, the collage of a different disruptive motif, the craft of a disruptive motif and the intensive color match of a disruptive motif. It represented the maximization of complication, fantastic and fanciness. The overlap of a disruptive motif showed the overlap of disruptive print patterns with transparency and an overlap of different fabrics with a disruptive pattern. It represented spatial relationships of three dimensions as well as the maximization of visual illusion and the reinforcement of attractiveness. The blurring of a disruptive motif showed the pointage of disruptive motif, the pointage of image, value gradation, the whole blurring of a disruptive pattern cluster and stained appearance. It represented the obscurity of motif form, the uncertainty of object and double meaning. The trompe l'oeil of a partial background object showed the realistic and the painterly imitation of color and texture for partial objects through a close-up. It represented amazement and pleasure by illusion, scarcity and the decoration of surface and synecdochical remind. In conclusion, camouflage in fashion was weakened and modified from a classical military context by a unique expression of various motifs.
