Work-related musculoskeletal disorders constitute a major source of employee disability and lost wages. Cumulative Trauma Disorders(CTD) refers to a category of physical conditions which result from chronic musculoskeletal injury. Assessment of CTD risk in industry at early stage allows for early control, a safe environment, and a healthier workforce. In this study, the physical load of the shipping work in the cold storage warehouse were especially investigated. Employees were working with almost unnatural posture in a very restricted work space. The questionnaire and biomechanical analysis were used to evaluate the physical load. Results from analyses showed that they were sufficiently exposed to CTD due to repetition and unnatural posture. Based on the analysis, ways for improving working conditions are proposed. The analysis and proposals in this paper will serve as a basic tool for designing/redesigning working environment such as improvement of tools and equipments, design of times for work/rest cycle.

Folder type electronic devices have hinge to support the rotational motion of folder. This hinge is stressed by the rotational inertia moment of folder at the maximum open limit position of folder. This stress is repeated whenever the folder is open, and it is a cause of hinge fracture. In this paper, the reliability evaluation for the hinge fracture in the folder type cellular phone is discussed. For this, the durability testing machine using crank-rocker mechanism is developed to evaluate the life cycle of the hinge, and the degradation after repetitions of opening and shutting is evaluated from the deformation around the hinge, where the deformation is measured by ESPI (electronic speckle pattern interferometer). Experimental results showed that ESPI was able to measure the deformation of hinge precisely, so we could monitor the change of deformation around the hinge as the repetition number of folder open is increased.

This paper provides the test results of bonding behavior of the interface between concrete substrate and carbon fiber in the rehabilitation method applying carbon fiber with epoxy based resin adhesive. The difference in each components was gradually increased subjected to the repetition of temperature variation, regardless of the strength of the substrate concrete, while the ultrasonic interface between each component occurred. An increase in difference of the temperature resulted in a decrease in bond strength of each component. Associated failure mode was shown to be interfacial failure and substrate concrete failure. No remarkable changes were found in the deformation and ultrasonic velocity of each component until the four cycles of the dry and moisture test. Hence, the moisture condition may not affect the bonding behavior of each component. After the repetition of dry and moisture test, corresponding bond strength was reduced to 40% of that before test. For the effect of freeze and thaw test, the cycle of freeze and thaw within 4 cycles resulted in debonding of each component.

The age of synthetic correspondence against "development period shortening, high quality" is about to come. While the product is becoming complexation gradually and also diversification, life cycle of product gets shorted. Under the infinity competition age, the certain answer of "the survival of the fittest" is that the enterprise itself must be able to shorten development and delivery term, reduce product development and life cycle cost, and satisfy customer in performance and value. From this point of view, concurrent engineering's theory, which develops the process of product in the manner of repetition, parallel, and synchronousness, is realized as a important strategy instrument in construction. This study investigates and analyzes several examples in order to apply concurrent engineering successfully, and presents the decision-making model through the simulation about the factor affecting in each process.

Leakage due to deterioration and damage is one of the major causes of volume change by freezing and thawing, and it leads micro-cracking and surface scaling in concrete structures. The deterioration of damaged concrete accelerates with the chloride attack. Thus, in the detailed guidelines for facility performance evaluation (2020), the quality of cover concrete and the freeze-thaw (FT) repetition cycle were newly suggested for concrete durability assessment. The quality of cover concrete should be evaluated by the rebound hammer test and the FT repetition cycle should be also considered in the deterioration environmental assessment. This study suggested the application of fast dynamic based nonlinear ultrasound method to monitor initial micro-scale damage under freezing and thawing environment. Concrete specimens were fabricated with different water-cement ratios (40%, 60%) and air contents (1.5% and 3.0%). The compressive strength, rebound number, relative dynamic modulus, and nonlinear ultrasound were measured with different FT cycles. The scanning electron microscopy was also performed to investigate the micro-scale FT damage. As a result, both the rebound number and the relative dynamic modulus had difficulty to detect early damage but the proposed method showed a potential to detect initial micro-scale damage and predict the FT resistance performance of concrete.
Contemporary society maintains mass-product system that keeps endless cycle of making and consuming. In this vein, everyday life becomes to be under the control of function and efficiency. On the contrary, the people are getting to have a desire of escaping from this everydayness, that is, the desire for non-everydayness. British architect, Nigel Coates understood the potentiality of contemporary metropolis which produce new experiences through their heterogeneities. During 1980s, Japanese economic bubble provided rich nourishment to the desire for non-everydayness based on consumers' tastes. Nigel Coates snatched this phenomena and designed commercial spaces aligned to the non-everydayness. He shows very eloquent version of escaping sense. We can find the exquisite quality of non-everydayness through design vocabulary of object's form and arrangement. In the viewpoint of object form, Coates adopted classical statues of Greek, that is antique, and modern gadgets such as airplane wings and seats. Also, we can find abundant gestures of curvilineal contours throughout the objects he designed. As for the objects' arrangement, he introduced repetition and curved composition that can stimulate human interaction with interior scape.

The work presented in this paper deals with a navigation problem for multiple mobile robot system in unknown indoor environments. The environment is completely unknown for all the robots and the surrounding information should be detected by the proximity sensors installed on the robots' bodies. In order to guide all the robots to move along collision-free paths and reach the goal positions, a navigation method based on the combination of a set of primary strategies has been developed. The indoor environments usually contain convex and concave obstacles. In this work, a danger judgment strategy in accordance with the sensors' data is used for avoiding small convex obstacles or moving objects which include both dynamic obstacles and other robots. For big convex obstacles or concave ones, a wall following strategy is designed for dealing with these special situations. In this paper, a state memorizing strategy is also proposed for the "infinite repetition" or "dead cycle" situations. Finally, when there is no collision risk, the robots will be guided towards the targets according to a target positioning strategy. Most of these strategies are achieved by the means of fuzzy logic controllers and uniformly applied for every robot. The simulation experiments verified that the proposed method has a positive effectiveness for the navigation problem.
The simulated spent PWR fuel pellet which is corresponding to the turnup of 33,000 MWD/MTU is prepared by adding 11 fission-product elements to UO$_2$. The simulated spent fuel pellet is treated at 40$0^{\circ}C$ in air (oxidation), at 110$0^{\circ}C$ in air (high-temperature treatment), and at $600^{\circ}C$ in hydrogen (reduction). The product is treated through additional addition and reduction up to 3 cycles. Pellets are completely pulverized by the first oxidation, and the high-temperature treatment causes particle and crystallite to grow and surface to be smooth, and thus particle size significantly increases and surface area decreases. The reduction following the high-temperature treatment decreases much the particle size by means of the formation of intercrystalline cracks. The particle size decreases a little during the second oxidation and reduction cycle and then remains nearly constant during the third and fourth cycles. Surface area of pounder increases progressively with the repetition of oxidation and reduction cycles, mainly due to the formation of Surface cracks. The degradation of surface area resulting from high-temperature treatment is restored by too subsequent resulting oxidation and reduction cycles.

This study was performed for the purpose of analyzing the effect of tide on the stress-strain behavior in the boundary surface of sea dike embankment. Tide is a dynamic condition, but there are not suitable numerical models to solve the dynamic embankment condition caused by tide. So the analysis was simplified to quasi dynamic as follow. First, seepage by tide was analyzed according to elapsed time, and the results of the analysis at every hour during one periodic cycle time of 12 hours were applied to the pore water pressure conditions of stress-strain analysis with hyperbolic model by Duncan and Chang. The place at which maximum shear strain took place in the analysis result moved up and down repeatedly along the boundary of the dredged sand fill section and the crashed stone filter section. The value of maximum shear strain was large at high water level of tide. This result means that contraction and relaxation occur in turn repeatedly at every specific position along the boundary, and the repeated action compact loose position with sand moved down from the upper position by gravity. The experiment with the small sea dike model showed the result consistent with the numerical analysis. The surface of sea side on the dike collapsed at high water level after a couple of repetition of the rising and falling of water.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the life of the capsule, which is a core part of the heat storage cooling system. This paper will develop a life test mode that can reproduce environment conditions through the analysis of capsule shrinkage and expansion characteristics. Methods: In order to determine the life test mode of the capsule, this paper analyzed the case of field failures and analyzed the deformation characteristics according to the pressure fluctuation of the capsule. The method to find out whether the field failure and deformation analysis results are consistent is the testing with the construction of the repetition pressure test equipment and the thermal cycle test to reproduce the freezing and thawing characteristics. Results: In this study, failure mode analysis and analysis of freezing and thawing characteristics regarding to the capsule positions were completed. Based on this test & analysis results, this paper have been able to determine the main parameters for determining the life test mode, the freezing and thawing time. Conclusion: Determining the lifetime mode of the capsule can be used to improve the life and performance of the thermal storage system.
