1km 해상도 태양-기상자원지도 기반의 초고해상도 태양 에너지 분석 (Analysis of Very High Resolution Solar Energy Based on Solar-Meteorological Resources Map with 1km Spatial Resolution)

  • The solar energy are an infinite source of energy and a clean energy without secondary pollution. The global solar energy reaching the earth's surface can be calculated easily according to the change of latitude, altitude, and sloped surface depending on the amount of the actual state of the atmosphere and clouds. The high-resolution solar-meteorological resource map with 1km resolution was developed in 2011 based on GWNU (Gangneung-Wonju National University) solar radiation model with complex terrain. The very high resolution solar energy map can be calculated and analyzed in Seoul and Eunpyung with topological effect using by 1km solar-meteorological resources map, respectively. Seoul DEM (Digital Elevation Model) have 10m resolution from NGII (National Geographic Information Institute) and Eunpyeong new town DSM (Digital Surface Model) have 1m spatial resolution from lidar observations. The solar energy have small differences according to the local mountainous terrain and residential area. The maximum bias have up to 20% and 16% in Seoul and Eunpyung new town, respectively. Small differences are that limited area with resolutions. As a result, the solar energy can calculate precisely using solar radiation model with topological effect by digital elevation data and its results can be used as the basis data for the photovoltaic and solar thermal generation.

  • For the evaluation of wind resources, numerical simulation was carried out as a tool for establishing wind map around the korean peninsula. Initial and boundary condition are given by 3 hourly RDAPS(Regional Data Assimilation and Prediction System) data of KMA(Korea Meteorology Administration) and high resolution terrain elevation land cover(30 seconds) data from USGS(United States Geological Survey). Furthermore, Data assimilation was adopted to improve initial meteorological data with buoy and QuikSCAT seawinds data. The simulation was performed from 2003 to 2006 year. To understand wind data correctly in complex terrain as the korean peninsula, at this research, Wind map was classified 4 categories by distance from coastline and elevation.

  • 최근 에너지의 무분별한 소비에 따른 유한에너지 부족으로 인하여 지구온난화 발생 등 지구환경이 변화함으로써 이에 대한 해결방법으로 친환경 에너지자원 확보 및 신재생에너지 자원량에 대한 국민들의 관심이 증대하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 각광받고 있는 공간정보기술과 신재생 에너지인 태양광 에너지 분야에서의 활용 가능성을 타진하고자 LiDAR 데이터를 이용한 태양광에너지 자원도를 제작하였다. 연구 대상지는 경상북도에 위치하고 있는 울릉군의 울릉도를 선정하였다. 울릉군 지역의 항공 라이다(LiDAR : Light Detection And Ranging) 신규 촬영 및 자료처리를 통하여 1m급 등고선을 생성하였으며, 이를 활용하여 1m급 수치표고모델(Digital Elevation Model) 자료를 구축하였다. DEM 자료를 이용하여 태양 고도 및 방위각에 따른 태양광 입사범위를 파악하여 태양광에너지 평가 기술에 활용하였으며, 1m급의 정밀하고 정확한 공간해상도 자료를 기반으로 태양광에너지 자원도를 제작함으로써 보다 정확한 정보 반영과 과학적이고 합리적인 신재생에너지 자원량 평가 방법 제시가 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

태양에너지학회 논문집의 풍력에너지 연구동향 분석 (Review of Trends in Wind Energy Research Publications in Journal of the Korean Solar Energy Society)

  • The Journal of the Korean Solar Energy Society is the first journal in South Korea that adopts wind energy as one of its subjects. Since 2000, more than 140 papers on wind energy have been published in the journal, which accounts for 8.5% of the total publication. However, in recent years, the number of published papers on wind energy has been decreasing steadily, and a reason for this decline is the significant dependence on a few specific institutions and authors. In this study, wind energy subjects were classified using the frequency analysis of the subject words extracted from the title, keywords, and abstract of wind energy papers using the text mining technique. In addition, the Korea Citation Index was used to perform quantitative level evaluation by subject and institution and to analyze the trends and characteristics of the wind energy field. Therefore, it was identified that in terms of the number of publications and citations, the main subject areas were resource/micrositing and policy/potential.

  • In this paper, the research background and objectives of the wind mapping project of the Korean Peninsula, which has been carrying out as a part of "Investigation of new-renewable energy resources and establishment of comprehensive management system" funded by Korea Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, are introduced together with the intermediate result of the project so far. The Korean wind map is to be established by numerical wind simulation based on terrain model ME-DEM and land-use model ME-LUM with the spatial resolution of 10km.

  • When we urgently need to develop and supply an alternative energy, wind power is growing with much interest because it has relative low cost of power and area of tower. To estimate the wind power resource, it is necessary to make an wind resource map first. On the study of wind resource map in the Korean peninsula, Southern coast was needed to investigate the possibility of developing wind power complex because of good wind resources. In this study, we made a vertical observation to analyze the properties of wind in coastal area. From tethered sonde observation, we knew that synoptic effect had an influence higher in second day than first day. This means local wind circulation is generated on first day but not second day. The local wind made vertical wind shear strong in first day. Also, there was large difference of wind speed between layers at night time by analysis of SODAR observation.

  • To construct the wind map for mainland Korea, the well designed atmospheric numerical modeling system was used. Three nest domains were construced with spatial resolutions between $10{\times}10km$ up to the hightest resolution of $1{\times}1km$. Parameterization schemes like MRF(PBL), RRTM(radiation), Grell(cumulus) were chosen since wind data simulated is in better agreement with the observed wind data. High-resolution atmospheric numerical model was applied to simulate the motion of the atmosphere and to produce the wind map around the South Korea. The results of several simulations were improved compare to the past system, because of using the fine geographical data, such as terrain height and land-use data, and the meteorological data assimilation.

기후변화를 고려한 한반도 미래 풍력자원 지도 생산 (Production of Future Wind Resource Map under Climate Change over Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 앙상블 중규모기후모델 weather research and forecasting(WRF)를 이용하여 2045년부터 2054년까지 21세기 중반의 기후변화에 대한 우리나라 미래 풍력자원 지도를 제작하였고 월별, 시간대별 자원변화를 검토하였다. 분석결과, 한반도상에서 강한 몬순 순환으로 인해 뚜렷한 월별 시공간 변동성이 해륙풍에 의한 시간대별 변동성보다 컸다. 풍력자원이 큰 강풍지역은 월마다 지역마다 다르게 나타났다. 즉 겨울철 북서계절풍(여름철 남서계절풍)이 주풍일 때 각각 강원산간과 해상 그리고 남서해안에서 자원이 많을 것으로 전망되었다. 최대풍과 최소풍은 1월, 9월에 각각 나타날 것으로 전망되었고, 시간대별로 내륙과 산간은 일중편차가 컸지만 연안지역은 편차가 작을 것으로 전망되었다. 이는 현재기후에 대한 기존분석결과와는 다소 차이가 있는 것으로, 이 연구에서 생산된 미래 풍력자원 지도는 향후 기후 변화 가능성이 큰 지역의 시공간적 풍황을 감안하여 풍력단지 입지 선정 및 풍력운영을 위한 장기계획 마련에 있어서 유용한 자료가 되리라 기대된다.

  • In order to investigate the offshore wind resources, the "QuikSCAT Level 3" data by the QuikSCAT satellite was analyzed from Jan 2000 to Dec 2008. QuikSCAT satellite is a specialized device for a microwave scatterometer that measures near-surface wind speed and direction under all weather and cloud conditions. Wind speed measured at 10 m above from the sea surface as extrapolated to the hub height by using the power law model. It has been found that the high wind energy prevailing in the south sea and the east sea of the Korean peninsula. From the limitation of seawater depth for piling the tower and archipelagic environment around the south sea, the west and the south-west sea are favorable to construct the large scale wind farm. Wind map and monthly variation of wind speed are investigate at the positions.

  • The numerical simulation optimized by Four Dimensional Data Assimilation (FDDA) with Quick Scatterometer (QuikSCAT) data is carried out to evaluate wind resource characteristics at various heights in the southeastern area of the Korean Peninsula, where wind farms are planned to be built on on- and off-shore as well as comparable diurnal wind variations are characterized at the surface. The temporal and spatial distributions of modeled wind speeds showed good agreement with the observations based on the temporal variation analysis. Model results indicate that the higher model is performed in resolution, the more precise results is at turbine hub height. Occasionally, wind speed variations for each numerical resolution has a different regional and seasonal variations. In the coast area, hub height wind speed of 9km-resolution is simillar to that of 3km-resolution. On the other hand, hub height wind speed of 3km-resolution is simillar to that of 1km-resolution in the Jiri mountainous area.
