  • Red phosphors, $Sr_2Si_5N_8:Eu^{2+}$, were synthesized as a single-phase crystal structure by optimizing carbon and $Eu^{2+}$ contents in a carbothermal reduction nitridation method. With increasing $Eu^{2+}$ contents, the photoluminescence spectra were red-shifted from 600 nm peak for 1 mol% for to 700 nm for 7 mol%. It was suggested that this red shift is attributed to the energy transfer from one low-energy sited $Eu^{2+}$ (1) to other high-energy sited $Eu^{2+}$ (2). Finally, the best red sample (620 nm emission peak and 80 nm half width for 3 mole% of $Eu^{2+}$) was packaged on a Blue LED together with two additional green and yellow phosphors, the fabricated White LED showed a high color-rendering index of 90 and white color coordinates of x= 0.321 and y = 0.305.

  • Eight out of the top ten the largest technology companies in the world are involved in some way with the coming mobile VR revolution since Facebook acquired Oculus. This trend has allowed the technology related with mobile VR to achieve remarkable growth in both academic and industry. Therefore, the importance of reproducing the acoustic expression for users to experience more realistic is increasing because auditory cues can enhance the perception of the complicated surrounding environment without the visual system in VR. This paper presents a audio downmixing system for auralization based on hardware, a stage of sound rendering pipelines that can reproduce realiy-like sound but requires high computation costs. The proposed system is verified through an FPGA platform with the special focus on hardware architectural designs for low power and real-time. The results show that the proposed system on an FPGA can downmix maximum 5 sources in real-time rate (52 FPS), with 382 mW low power consumptions. Furthermore, the generated 3D sound with the proposed system was verified with satisfactory results of sound quality via the user evaluation.

  • This Paper introduces representation and coding schemes of multiview texture and depth data for complex three-dimensional scenes. We represent input color and depth images using compressed texture and depth map pairs. The proposed X-codec encodes them further to increase compression ratio in a near-lossless way. Our system resolves two problems. First, rendering time and output visual quality depend on input image resolutions rather than scene complexity since a depth image-based rendering techniques is used. Second, the random access problem of conventional image-based rendering could be effectively solved using our image block-based compression schemes. From experimental results, the proposed approach is useful to graphics applications because it provides multiview rendering, selective decoding, and scene manipulation functionalities.

  • In this paper, we propose an implementation of a neural network accelerator for reducing the rendering noise using OpenCL. Among the rendering algorithms, we selects a ray tracing to assure a high quality graphics. Ray tracing rendering uses ray to render, less use of the ray will result in noise. Ray used more will produce a higher quality image but will take operation time longer. To reduce operation time whiles using fewer rays, Learning Base Filtering algorithm using neural network was applied. it's not always produce optimize result. In this paper, a new approach to Matrix Multiplication that is based on General Matrix Multiplication for improved performance. The development environment, we used specialized in high speed parallel processing of OpenCL. The proposed architecture was verified using Kintex UltraScale XKU6909T-2FDFG1157C FPGA board. The time it takes to calculate the parameters is about 1.12 times fast than that of Verilog-HDL structure.

  • Due to the development of hologram display technology, various studies are being conducted to provide realistic contents for augmented reality. In the case of the HMD for hologram, since augmented reality objects must be rendered by a small processor, it is necessary to use a low-capacity content. To solve this problem, there is a need for a technique of rendering resources by providing resources through a network. In the case of the existing augmented reality system, there is no problem of contents modulation because the resources are loaded and rendered in the internal storage space. However, when providing resources through the network, security problems such as content tampering and malicious code insertion should be considered. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a network rendering technique applying security techniques to provide augmented reality contents in a holographic HMD device.

  • Although aquaculture production rates grown over the years, aquatic animal diseases occur every year which causes substantial economic losses. When an aquatic animal is infected with an aquatic animal pathogen it is either incinerated or buried according to the aquatic life disease control act. Although these methods prevent the spread of disease, it is not environment friendly. Here, we developed an aquatic animal rendering equipment for disposal of fish waste which is environment-friendly and efficient. Also, fertilizer components of fish waste were evaluated value for recycling. The mobile rendering equipment was designed for field operation and/or high temperature and pressure system, oil and water separator, and shredding drying apparatus. During the experiment (July-2016 to November-2016), a total of 53,824 kg fish waste was collected, and 29,216 kg compost of rendering by-product was made. Also, compost made from viral (Viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus) infected fish did not reflect any detectable pathogen. The concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic matter in the fish waste compost were 2.17%, 26.98%, and 92.44%, respectively. The results suggest that fish waste used in this study was decomposed efficiently as per the official standard for fertilizer product. This equipment can be useful for efficient inactivation of the aquatic animal pathogenic agents and recycling of the fish waste in an environment-friendly manner.

  • In the case of safety training where practical training is impossible due to risk problems, training contents using realistic media such as virtual reality or augmented reality are becoming a new alternative. In this paper, we propose a smoke modeling method that can be applied to safety-training contents implemented with realistic media technology. When an accident occurs in a hazardous area such as a petrochemical plant, visibility is not secured due to gas leakage and fire. In order to create such a situation, it is important to realistically express smoke. The proposed method is a smoke model implementation technique that can be effectively applied to the background of complex passages and devices such as petrochemical plants. In the proposed method, the smoke is expressed using volumetric rendering in the post-processing stage for the resulting image of scene rendering. Implementation results in the background of the factory show that the proposed method produces models that can express the smoke realistically.

  • Rendering, is attracting attention as a technology that can stably and quickly process livestock carcasses. However, large amounts of livestock carcass solid residues are discharged in this process and limited methods are available for recycling them. In this study, rendered animal carcass solid residues were pyrolyzed to produce carbonized materials (350℃; RACR-C) and their chemical properties were investigated. Further, RACR-C were applied to cabbage cultivation for investigating their crop growth characteristics and soil improvement effects. RACR-C contained large amounts of fertilizer components such as nitrogen and phosphorus, and showed no toxic effects on the seedling growth of crops. The content of water-soluble nutrients released from RACR-C under the reaction time increased rapidly within 30 min, but was insignificant compared to the total content. Thus, most fertilizer components in RACR-C were not readily soluble in water. The optimal application amount for applying RACR-C to cabbage cultivation based on the changes in cabbage growth, inorganic content, and soil chemistry was 200 kg/10a. Overall, pyrolysis of solid residues after rendering livestock carcass to produce carbonized material as a soil improver is an effective method to recycle the waste discharged from the rendering process.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme to generate multi-view images using a depth-image-based rendering (DIBR) technique. In order to improve the quality of multi-view images at newly exposed areas during mesh-based rendering, we preprocess the depth map using a Gaussian smoothing filter. Previous algorithms apply a smoothing filter to the whole depth map even if the depth map is collapsed. After extracting objects from the depth map, we apply the smoothing filter to their boundaries. Finally, we cannot only maintain the depth quality, but also generate high quality multi-view images. Experimental results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms previous works and supports an efficient depth keying technique.
