니켈촉매를 이용한 온도 및 공간속도 변화에 따른 메탄화 반응 특성 (Methanation with Variation of Temperature and Space Velocity on Ni Catalysts)

  • Syngas from gasification of coal can be converted to SNG(Synthesis Natural Gas) through gas cleaning, water gas shift, $CO_2$ removal, and methanation. One of the key technologies involved in the production of SNG is the methanation process. In the methanation process, carbon oxide is converted into methane by reaction with hydrogen. Major factors of methanation are hydrogen-carbon oxide ratio, reaction temperature and space velocity. In order to understand the catalytic behavior, temperature programmed surface reaction (TPSR) experiments and reaction in a fixed bed reactor of carbon monoxide have been performed using two commercial catalyst with different Ni contents (Catalyst A, B). In case of catalyst A, CO conversion was over 99% at the temperature range of $350{\sim}420^{\circ}C$ and CO conversions and $CH_4$ selectivity were lower at the space condition over 3000 1/h. In case of catalyst B, CO conversion was 100% at the temperature over $370^{\circ}C$ and CO conversions and $CH_4$ selectivity were lower at the space condition over 4700 1/h. Also, conditions to satisfy $CH_4$ productivity over 500 ml/h.g-cat were over 2000 1/h of space velocity in case of catalyst A and over 2300 1/h of space velocity in case of catalyst B.

향나무를 활용한 수중에서 메틸렌 블루의 제거 (Removal of Methylene Blue in Water Phase by Using Juniperus chinensis)

  • 강원지역 산림에서 수목들의 가지치기로 인하여 발생되는 목재 폐기물의 재활용 처리 기술 개발이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 3종류(낙엽송, 향나무, 소나무) 폐목재를 활용한 흡착 실험에 의하여 수중에 함유된 메틸렌 블루의 제거능력이 우수한 생물흡착제로 향나무를 선별하였다. 그리고, 메틸렌 블루 제거효율을 향상하고자 0.4 g/100 mL의 향나무를 주입하여 반응 4 h 흡착하였을 때, 수중에 용해된 100, 200, 300 mg/L의 메틸렌 블루는 각각 98, 93, 81%의 제거효율을 나타내었다. 흡착제 농도 변화에 의한 흡착평형 자료들은 Freundlich식보다 Langmuir식에 잘 부합됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 메틸렌 블루 농도 변화에 의한 동력학적 실험으로부터, 생물흡착 속도식은 유사 2차 반응식에 보다 적합함을 알 수 있었다. 고농도 메틸렌의 블루 제거능력을 증가시키기 위하여, 300과 400 mg/L 메틸렌 블루를 210 rpm 교반속도로 4 h 운전하였을 때, 각각 92, 76% 제거효율을 나타내었다. 따라서 이러한 실험 결과들은 수중에 용해된 메틸렌 블루를 경제적으로 처리하는 새로운 생물흡착 기술에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

수용액 중의 염료 제거를 위한 폐수처리공정의 특성(1) -화학적 응집 및 생물학적 처리- (Characteristics of The Wastewater Treatment Processes for The Removal of Dyes in Aqueous Solution(1) - Chemical Precipitation or Biological Treatment -)

  • This study was conducted to remove the dyes in dye wastewater by the chemical precipitation or biological treatment which are one of the main pollutants in dye wastewater. In order to remove the disperse dyes effectively in aqueous solution by chemical precipitation process, coagulation and flocculation tests were carried out using several coagulants on various reaction conditions. It was found that the Ferrous sulfate was the most effective coagulant for the removal of disperse dye(DB79), and we could get the best result for the removal of disperse dye(DB56) in the aspects of TOC removal efficiency and sludge yield. When the Ferrous sulfate dosage was 800mg/l, the sludge settling velocity was very fast$(SV_{30}=4\%)$, and the color was effectively removed in the disperse dye(DB79) solution. Although the color removal was ineffective when the Alum was used as a coagulant, the sludge yield decreased in comparison with the Ferrous sulfate or the Ferric sulfate being used in the disperse dye(DB56) solution. In order to decolorize disperse dye(DR17) by using biological treatment process, a strain which has potential ability to degrade disperse dyes was isolated from natural system. The optimal culture conditions of temperature and pH were found to be $40^{\circ}C\;and\;8.5\~9$, respectively. When yeast extract was mixed with polypeptone at the mixing ratio of 1:1 as a nitrogen source, decolorization efficiency was highest$(93\%)$ among the nitrogen sources. The strain screened was excellent to adjust to pH, and it seems to have ability to control pH needed to growth. The optimal culture conditions in concentration of $MgSO_{4.}\cdot7H_2O\;and\;KH_2PO_4$ were $0.1\%(w/v)\;and\;0.2\%(w/v)$, respectively. Strains degrading and decolorizing reactive dyes, RB198 and RR141 which were isolated from water system, are named RBK1 and RRK. And the cell growth characteristics of RBK1 and RRK were investigated. The optimal culture conditions of temperature and pH were found to be 30t' and 7.0, respectively. Optimum nitrogen source was peptone, and it was found that decolorization efficiencies by strains RBK1 and RRK, were $85\%\;and\;62\%$, respectively, with introduction of 4,000mg/l of peptone. In the case of RBK1, color removal efficiencies were very high below 400mg/l. Decolorization efficiency was over $90\%$ at 20hours of culture time. The Color degradation ability of RRK was lower than that of RBK1.

유류오염 토양의 복원과정에서 발생되는 휘발성 유기화합물의 제거를 위한 바이오필터의 적용 (Application of Biofilter for the Removal of VOCs Produced in the Remediation of Oil-Contaminated Soil)

  • 유류로 오염된 토양의 생물학적 복원에서 휘발성 유기화합물(VOCs)을 제거하기 위한 biofilter의 적용 가능성에 대하여 알아보았다 대표 오염물질로 diesel을 선정한 후 총 86일 동안 ceramic과 polymer,이 두 종류의 담체를 사용하여 SV(공간속도)와 유량, 입구농도 등을 조사하여 최적의 운전조건을 찾고자하였다. 운전초기 30일간 SV를 $153\;h^{-1}$ 고정하여 입구농도를 증가시키며 ceramic 및 polymer biofilter의 제거효율 변화에 대하여 알아보았다. Ceramic 및 polymer 담체에서는 총 VOCs의 입구농도가 10 ppmv 이하일 때 각각 평균 $67\%$$15\%$의 제거효율을 보였으나, 입구농도를 30 ppmv까지 증가시켰을 때 ceramic 담체는 제거 효율이 $60\%$까지 저하되었고, polymer 담체의 경우 $80\%$의 제거효율을 보였다. 또한, Diesel VOCs의 입구농도와 공간 속도의 증가에 따른 총 VOCs의 제거효율에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 공간속도가 $153\;h^{-1}$에서 $204\;h^{-1}$$306\;h^{-1}$로 증가함에 따라 총 VOCs의 제거 효율은 점차적으로 감소하여 polymer 담체의 경우 평균 제거효율이 $82\%$에서 $80\%,\;77\%$로 약 $5\%$ 감소함을 관찰하였다. Polymer 담체에서는 공간속도의 증가에도 불구하고 benzene과 toluene모두 약 $81\~86\%$의 영역에서 일정한 제거효율을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, ceramic 담체에서 benzene의 경우 공간속도 $153\;h^{-1}$에서 평균 $87\%$의 제거효율을 보였고, 공간속도가 $204\;h^{-1}$에서 $306\;h^{-1}$로 증가함에 따라 $79\%$에서 $74\%$로 약 $5\%$가 감소하였다. Toluene의 제거효율은 공간속도의 증가에 따라 $80\%$에서 $76\%$$4\%$ 감소하였다.

입상여과에서 입자물질의 부착 (Particle Attachment in Granular Media Filtration)

  • Granular media filtration is used almost universally as the last particle removal process in conventional water treatment plants. Therefore, superb particle removal efficiency is needed during this process to ensure a high quality of drinking water. However, every particle can not be removed during granular media filtration. Besides the pattern of particle attachment is different depending on physicochemical aspects of particles and suspension. Filtration experiments were performed in a laboratory-scale filter using spherical glass beads with a diameter of 0.55 mm as collectors. A single type of particle suspension (Min-U-Sil 5) and pH control was used to destabilize particles. The operating conditions were similar to those of standard media filtration practice: a filtration velocity of 5 m/h. More favorable particles, i.e., particles with smaller surface charge, were well attached to the collectors especially during the early stage of filtration. This selective attachment of the lower charged particles caused the zeta potential distribution (ZPD) of the effluent to move to a more negative range. On the other hand, the ZPD of the effluent did not keep moving from less negative to more negative during the later stages of filtration, and this result was thought to be caused by two reasons: ripening effects and the detachment of flocs.

이젝터를 이용한 다관식 열교환기 파울링 자동제거장치의 구동특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Operating Characteristics on Fouling Auto Removal Apparatus of Multi Pass Type Heat Exchanger using Ejector)

  • The experiment was performed to check operating characteristics of fouling auto removal apparatus for multi pass type heat exchanger using ejector. The results showed as following. The ejector suction flow rate increased with the head of operating pump of ejector. Proper suction flow rate showed $7.2{\sim}10.2m^3/h$ for ball collection in case of pump head 35~50m. The head of ejector outlet pipe is below 4.1m in case of 40m, the head of operating pump of ejector to confirm ejector suction flow rate 8.4m3/h. Lattice space of ball separator is allowed 6~10.3mm in ranges of ball diameter are 15~25mm and when mass flow of cooling water is 3.0m/sec. Average of passing time of balls is 1.2~2.8sec depend on the velocity of flow and the size of balls.

FLUENT를 활용한 콘크리트 건식 저장용기 공기유로 내부 유동장 해석 (ANALYSIS ON FLOW FIELDS IN AIRFLOW PATH OF CONCRETE DRY STORAGE CASK USING FLUENT CODE)

  • This study investigated natural convection flow behavior in airflow path designed in concrete dry storage cask to remove the decay heat from spent nuclear fuels. Using FLUENT 16.1 code, thermal analysis for natural convection was carried out for three dimensional, 1/4 symmetry model under the normal condition that inlet ducts are 100% open. The maximum temperatures on other components except the fuel regions were satisfied with allowable values suggested in nuclear regulation-1536. From velocity and temperature distributions along the flow direction, the flow behavior in horizontal duct of air inlet and outlet duct, annular flow-path and bent pipe was delineated in detail. Theses results will be used as the theoretical background for the composing of airflow path for the designing of passive heat removal system by understanding the flow phenomena in airflow path.

정수장 효율 향상을 위한 혼화기별 최적 운전조건 산정에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Optimum Operation Conditions of Rapid Mixing Impellers for an Effective W.T.P. Design)

  • 동일한 원수에 대하여 탁도제거 지배인자를 변화시켜가며 임펠러 형태별 탁도제거효율을 비교함으로써 관습적으로 설계 운영해오던 혼화과정의 문제점과 정수장의 최적 혼화저건을 만족시킬 수 있는 혼화기의 임펠러 타입 및 체류시간에 대한 운전기준을 제시하고자 하였다. 실험결과 혼화기의 종류는 탁도제거 효율을 물론 정수장의 경제적 운영을 위한 전력비 절감에도 효과가 있는 것으로 판명되었다. 또한 혼화지와 혼화기 설계기준에 일반적으로 활용되어 오던 속도구매 G이외에도 원수의 단위체적당 필요한 혼화에너지를 제시하여 정수효율은 물론 정수장의 경제적 운영효과를 극대화시킬 수 있는 참고자료로 제시하였다.

습식세정장치에서 발생되는 마이크로버블을 이용한 음식물쓰레기 발생 복합악취 처리 (Complex Mal-odor Treatment of Foodwaste with Micro-bubble generated from Enhanced Wet Scrubber)

  • The objective of this work was to treat complex mal-odor of food waste with micro-bubbles from enhanced wet scrubber system, where the pilot plant was operated. Micro bubbles from the enhanced reactor of venturi scrubber were successfully generated through the air atomizing process with high velocity more than 60 m/sec and played an important role in the removal of mal-odor. Mal-odor was effectively changed into the micro-bubble and treated with washing chemicals together. Through establishing two series connection of the reactors, 85.2 % removal efficiency of complex mal-odor was obtained in case of average 940 times of input air. 0.35 kg/hr of sulfuric acid, 0.188 kg/hr of sodium hydroxide and 0.043 kg/hr of hypochlorite were injected for chemical washing.

텅스텐 CMP에서 산화제 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Oxidizer Effects in Tungsten CMP)

  • Chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) has become the process of choice for modem semiconductor devices to achieve both local and global planarization. CMP is a complex process which depends on numerous variables such as macro, micro and nano-geometry of pad, relative velocity between pad and wafer stiffness and dampening characteristics of pad, slurry, pH, chemical components of slurry, abrasive concentration, abrasive size, abrasive shape, etc. Especially, an oxidizer of chemical components is very important remove a target material in metal CMP process. This paper introduces the effect of oxidizer such as $H_2O_2,\;Fe(NO_3)_3\;and\;KIO_3$ in slurry for tungsten which is used in via or/and plug. Finally the duplex reacting mechanism of $oxidizer(H_2O_2)$ through adding the $catalyst(Fe(NO_3)_3)$ could acquire the sufficient removal rate in tungsten CMP.
