Those who are damned in Light in August (1932) include Lena Grove, Joe Christmas as well as Gail Hightower. Through these characters, William Faulkner criticizes the confrontation between the North and the South after Civil War, religious fundamentalism, and racial discrimination which were great social issues in the twentieth century American society. The main characters are commonly isolated from the community through their grandfather's influence instead of father, which lets Americans understand that their faults originated from the beginning of America. Although they tend to approach to the community from their isolation, the damned are refused from the community. However, Faulkner would not lose his hope even on the ground of Christmas's death. By evoking from Hightower and Bunch their responses for good, Lena can draw Hightower into the community, and create her home with Bunch as a final victor. Even in the community being rampant with racial hatred, which most of Americans can not but face with, Faulkner can provide us with a ray of hope through these three characters.

Purposes: The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between discrimination experience and quality of life among non-regular workers in hospitals. Methodology: The data was collected from 292 employees of 7 university hospitals using a standardized questionnaire. In research methodology, the data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis. Findings: In case of non-regular workers, inequality of distribution, position unfairness, employment instability, number of discrimination experiences were found to have a negative(-) effect on quality of life. Religion, income in general characteristics had a significant positive(+) effect on quality of life. And the discrimination of non-regular woman workers was higher and the quality of life was lower than that of men. Practical Implications: These results showed that hospitals needed active efforts to create non-regular woman-friendly work environment. In addition, active religious activities gave emotional stability and positive effect to no-regular workers.

2000년대 들어 한국 사회는 이주노동자, 결혼이주자, 유학생, 난민 등의 유입이 급증하면서 다문화사회로 이행하고 있다. 이에 따라 다종교 사회로서 종교 간 평화와 공존이 유지됐던 한국 사회는 갈등이 표면화되며 사회 문제로 확대될 조짐을 보이고 있다. 다문화 환경을 인식하고 대처하는 데 있어서 종교는 다문화 사회화 과정에서 공동체의 통합과 안전에 기여하나 다른 한편에서는 공동체 내부에 갈등을 유발할 수 있는 양가성을 띰으로써 교육적 차원에서의 논의를 필요로 한다. 이는 교육의 주요 기능 중 하나가 사회통합이라는 점을 고려하면, 종교 교육이 다문화사회의 안정적인 정착을 위해 요구되기 때문이다. 이런 인식 속에서 종교 다양성에 대응하기 위한, 그리고 현재의 사회를 이해하고 세계 시민으로 거듭나기 위한 새로운 관점의 종교 교육에 대한 논의를 필요로 하게 되었는데, 그것이 '종교 이해'(religious literacy)를 배양하기 위해 다양한 종교적, 비종교적 세계관을 교육하는 '교양 종교 교육'(general religious education) 모델이다. 그렇지만 다문화사회에서 교양 종교 교육이 학생들이 통합 환경 속에서 편견과 차별을 줄이는 데 유용할지라도 다문화주의의 가장 효과적인 접근법이 각 인간 집단의 고유 가치를 인정하는 것이라는 점을 상기한다면 '개별 종교 교육'(special religious education) 또한 필요성이 인정된다. 이에 본 연구는 종교 교육의 방안으로 교양 종교 교육과 개별 종교 교육을 결합한 '협력 종교 교육'(co-operative religious education)을 제안할 것이며, 이에 기초하여 한국의 종교 정책과 종교 교육을 검토하고 학교 현장에 실천 가능한 현실적인 방법을 제시할 것이다.

이 연구는 동북아 국가의 지역적 쟁점을 성찰한다. 특히, 북한의 핵 문제에 대한 미국의 대외정책의 기조에서 연구가 시작되는 동기를 탐구한다. 연구자는 주된 연구방법으로 탐구에 기초한 실천신학의 방법론을 사용한다. 이 분석은 정치적 쟁점과 종교교육의 복합적인 관계를 연결하는 접근을 선호한다. 여기서 복합적인 관계란 정치학의 사회과학적 전제와 종교교육의 규범적 가치를 학제 간 대화의 방법으로 접근하는 관점을 의미한다. 이러한 관점에서 종교교육의 생태는 백인 우월성에 관한 인류학적이며 인종적인 차별의 위협을 무력화하는 교육적 목적을 지향한다. 특히 연구자는 학습자와 교사의 공유적 페다고지를 지지하며, 하나님의 민주적 임재라는 관점을 통해 예수 그리스도께서 억압의 환경에 도전하는 내러티브를 구성하는 연구의 목적을 실행한다.

최근(2008. 4. 14) 국가인권위원회의 종교계 대학들에 대한 권고 결정이 종교계 학교들의 채용관행에 대한 논쟁을 불러 일으켰다. 종교계 학교는 특정종교의 진리와 정신을 건학이념으로 설립된 학교이다. 비교법적으로 검토해 보면 학교 기타 교육기관이 전체 또는 중요한 부분에서 특정 종교 또는 종교 법인, 협회, 단체에 의해 소유, 지원, 통제 또는 관리되는 경우 또는 그러한 기관의 교과가 특정 종교의 전파를 목적으로 하는 경우에, 그러한 학교나 기타 교육기관 또는 교습 기관이 특정한 종교를 가진 피고용인을 고용 또는 채용하는 것이 허용되고 있다. 따라서 학교의 역사, 사명, 교직원과 학생들의 종교, 학생들의 종교활동, 그리고 커리큘럼에 대한 종교적 관점 등을 검토하여 종교계 학교로 판단되면 특정 종교인에 대한 채용의 자유를 부정하기 어렵다고 판단된다. 이 글은 종교계 학교의 교직원 채용 시 지원자가 특정 종교인일 것을 조건으로 하는 것이 우리 법제상 위법인가에 대하여 주로 노동법적 차원에서 비교법적으로 검토해 보았다.

This article is concerned about a reason for which Cervantes participates an arabic author named Benengeli and morisco translator in his work instead of christian author. From the multi-cultural point of view, the time in which Don Qujote was published, belongs to the Golden Age. In other words, the society can not be supported by the ideology of Purity of Blood in that the morisco, converso (Christian Jewish) have been permitted to coexist in the name of christian proselyte or New Christian despite of invisible discrimination. An invisible discrimination is based on the prejudice and negative stereotype of Old Christian against the New Christian. Cervantes offers an o open space for readers to participate in the creative reading, giving up the absolute authority of author named Benengeli. The deep-rooted prejudice against morisco or muslim author makes the readers of Don Quijote do reinterpret the contents and have question about his sincerity. This disbelief is partly on the basis of hypothesis that Don Quijote would be passed on orally by an arabic or morisco. Leaving the hypothesis alone, Romance, festival performances of morisco or the aljamia literature in the Iberian Peninsula have the chivalry or knights of the Occident. The chivalry in Romance of morisco means that morisco would seek assimilation into the mainstream of Occidental Christian community. At the same time, morisco would be faced with the dilemma of loss of religious identity. But Taqiyya, islamic doctrine, offsets the dilemma between yearning to assimilate into mainstream and religious conscience of morisco in that Taqiyya permits morisco to convert to Christianity in case that they are in danger of life or the following risk. From this point of view, There is no room for doubt about the fact that Taqiyya contributed to social assimilation or multicultural society of the Iberian Peninsula. It has been a long time since a narrow-minded religious dogma and ideology became a anachronistic relic in multicultural society of Spain such as the Purity of Blood. From a relative viewpoint, Don Quijote provides a ground for the collective intelligence among christian, muslim(morisco) and converso through a liberal community between readers and authors who form a pluralistic society.

최근 ChatGPT 등의 등장으로 거대언어모델(이하 LLM: Large Language Model)에 대한 사회경제적 관심이 고조되고 있다. 생성형AI의 일종인 거대언어모델은 대본 창착이 가능한 수준까지 이르고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 일반인과 전문가들이 광범위하게 활용할 거대언어모델에서 공연예술 전반 혹은 특정 공연예술물이나 단체의 차별 이슈(성차별, 인종차별, 종교차별, 연령차별 등)를 어떻게 묘사하는지에 관심을 가지고 해결해 나가야 할 것이다. 그러나 아직 거대언어모델에서 공연예술의 차별 이슈에 대한 본격적인 조사와 논의는 이루어지지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 거대언어모델로부터의 공연예술 분야 차별이슈 인식 양상을 텍스트 분석하고 이로부터 공연예술분야가 대응할 시사점과 거대언어모델 개발 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 먼저 거대언어모델에게 차별에 대한 감수성을 측정하기 위해 9가지 차별 이슈에 대한 BBQ(Bias Benchmark for QA) 질문 및 측정법을 사용했으며, 대표적인 거대언어모델로부터 도출된 답변에 대해서 공연예술 전문가에 의해 거대언어모델이 잘못 인지한 부분이 있는지의 검증을 거친 후에 내용분석법을 통해 공연예술분야의 차별적 관점의 윤리성에 대한 거대언어모델의 인식을 분석하였다. 분석 결과로 공연예술 분야에게 주는 시사점과 거대언어모델 개발 시 주의할 점 등을 도출하고 토의하였다.

There are many discourses about 'religion and women,' but it is no exaggeration to say that there is none about 'religion and men.' This is because the existing religions have been male-centric and have produced legions of male-dominated cultures. In Catholic Church, even today, only men can become the Pope, and women are not allowed to enter priesthood. Meanwhile, in the Islamic cultural areas, the reality is that women are being victimized by men who do not recognize the bad habits such as honor killings, or honor crimes. It is certain that gender discrimination in religious and cultural areas cannot be overlooked. This study focuses on the understanding of women in the thought of Daesoonjinrihoe(大巡眞理會), that is, the Daesoon Thought, which claims to advocate world peace. Daesoonjinrihoe is understood as a thought which tries to overcome gender discrimination prevalent in the existing religions and presents the vision of a new religion which aims to realize a new world of peace by drawing a distinction between the Former Heaven and the Latter Heaven. This study examines the understanding of women by looking at the tenet of Daesoonjinrihoe that consists of 'YeumYangHapDeok(陰陽合德), SinInJoHwa(神人調化), HaeWon-SangSaeng(解冤相生), DoTongJinGyeong(道通眞境).' The tenet is thought of as the basis of creed on which the understanding of women by the Daesoon Thought can be grasped as it basically contains the essence of teaching of the order. In the Daesoon Thought, women have the same status as men; women can become holy and dignified beings by engaging in independent, active, and autonomous spiritual exercises, and serve as a driving force for the realization of the ideal world. This understanding of women by the Daesoon Thought contains the idea of peace which can turn 'the culture of discrimination' into 'the culture of equality,' and 'the culture of life destruction' into 'the culture of life care.'

This study's aim is to identify modern and post-modern values and transnationalism embodied in Daesoon Thought and to seek for the new value to overcome irrationality of modern values in this society we live in. Several previous studies discussed about these issues, but most of them studied them on the basis of Korean new religions or Jeungsangyo, or in sociological theory perspective. Therefore, this study focused on Daesoon Thought encompassing ideological perspective as well as historical perspective of Daesoonjinrihoe. As for nationalism, while Eastern learning(Dong-Hak) is prone to ethnocentricity, Daesoon Thought shows trans-ethnic perspective. As for historical perspectivel, Mugeuikdo, a precursor to Daesoonjinrihoe showed non-relationship with any politics as contrasted with other new korean religious movement at that time. As for aspects of modern values, 3 perspectives (political system, social system, abolition of premodern values) were discussed. As for political system perspective, while Eastern learning advocates democratic modernity but accepted monarchy, Jeungsan denied monarchy. And While western political philosophy advocated rationality-based absolute person, Daesoon Thought proposes ideal human who can have political power and do religious indoctrination all together. As for social system perspective, while western humanism is based on all of he people's equity in front of God, Eastern learning on humans are Heaven (人乃天), Daesoon Thought is based on Injon thought(人尊思想) which encompasses spiritual world, human world and all of the universe. Daesoon Thought also proposes abolition of discrimination by gender, social position. As for abolition of premodern values, Daesoon Thought critics pre-modern formalism and advocate acceptance of other nations' culture, pragmatism, and humanism. As presented above, Daesoon Thought has not only modern values but also aspects of post-modernity and transnationalism. In the future, further studies are needed which tackle these issues and search for new values of Daesoon Thought which can overcome limitation of modern values.

The culture of Korea shows political and religious discrimination by changed the era, but in the culture the inherent spirit of Koreans has been more specific at various angles to. But in the last several decades looking at the domestic furniture design field, the introduction of Western technology with high-tech, the mechanical plastics of modern Western European furniture, and imitations have been flooded. Owing to them our spirit were soon altered and made to face the current leads to confusion. Fortunately, in the latest national and international design fair the domestic furniture companies are breaking the ambiguous identity of the design in the meantime they keep studying and developing of our spirit and the demands of the times. Moreover, a new awareness and heightened interest on Korean traditional and stylish furniture are more elevated. At this moment, a study on the Connectivity of Aesthetic Consciousness Appearing in Korean Traditional Architecture and Furniture is required to overcome the today's confusion and to establish identity and the direction of the domestic furniture industry. Thus, this paper purposes to present the new direction for domestic furniture industry by researching and analyzing on the Korean traditional architecture and traditional furniture with the Korean spirit and a sense of beauty.
