  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the social values and selected clothing behavior variable for a group of working women in Kwang Ju, Chonnam, Korea. The findings of this study as follows: 1. The were differences in selective clothing variables according to their general characteristics; age, marital status, religion. 2. There were differences in selective clothing variables according to their occupational characteristics; type, length of employment, income. 3. A significant relationship was found between he social values and selected clothing behavior variables; There were significant relationship between the social trend and five clothing behavior variables; social approval, psychological dependence, satisfaction, comfort, interest. There ere significant relationship between the human relation and one clothing variables; management. There were significant relationship between the popularization and three clothing behavior variables; social approval, psychological dependence and management.

The Influence of 'Healthy Couple Relationship' Education on the Relationship Formation Competencies and Marriage Values of High School Students ('건강한 커플관계' 교육이 고등학생의 관계형성능력과 결혼 가치관에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed at exploring the influence of 'Healthy couple relationship' education on the relationship formation competencies and marriage values of high school students. To achieve the research objective, the 'Healthy couple relationship' lesson plan developed by the author was executed in two high schools for eight weeks from September 1 to November 3, 2018 from which the effects were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the 'healthy couple relationship' education for high school students has been effective in improving their relationship performance, which is a part of the home economics curriculum. In S high school, the paired t-test of pre-/post-test comparison results showed statistically significant differences in the areas of 'communication', 'conflict resolution' and 'relationship formation performance'. For Sejong City campus-type joint curriculum group, where Wilcoxson signed-rank test was applied due to small sample size, showed that the overall scores as well as all the subsections of 'relationship formation performance' (i.e., 'communication', 'self-understanding', 'conflict resolution', and 'empathy') have improved, although not statistically significant. Second, the 'Healthy couple relationship' education for high school students had positive effects on the marriage values of high school students. In S high school, students' perception of marriage values rendered a statistically significant positive change, while in campus-type joint curriculum in Sejong City, no statistical significance was detected. In conclusion, the 'Healthy couple relationship' education can help high school students build positive values by cultivating their 'relationship formation competence', which is a part of the competencies listed in home economics curriculum, and also broaden their understanding of marriage, by acquiring knowledge and skills to build healthy couple relationships, and learning to implement the knowledge and skills in their own lives.

  • The causal network represents the knowledge related to the dependency relationship between all attributes. If the causal network is available, the dependency relationship can be employed to estimate the missing values for improving the estimation performance. However, the previous method had a limitation in that it did not consider the bidirectional characteristic of the causal network. The proposed method considers the bidirectional characteristic by applying prior and posterior conditions, so that it outperforms the previous method.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the social values and the clothing motivations for a group of female college students in Seoul, Korea. Through this study, the followings were found : 1. A significant relationship was found between the social values and the five dothing motivations : Decoration, Modesty, Protection, Belongingness, Self-Esteem. 2. A significant relationship was found between the clothing motivations and the environmental factors concerning school : college type (coeducational college or women's college), major. grade. 3. A significant relationship was found between the clothing motivations and the environmental factors concerning family : father's income, father's educational level, order among sisters.

How to Measure Relationship Value in Principal-Retailer Context

  • Purpose: This study aims to review existing research on the definition, conceptualization, and measurement of relationship values to guide future research. This study specifically measures the relationship value between principals and retailers, which is still not widely discussed in previous research. Besides, to broaden our knowledge of the value-based determinants of competitive advantage, satisfaction, and retailer loyalty in business-to-business relationships. Research design, data, and methodology: This research assessed three alternative models of the relationship value construct's dimension structure and then tested for reliability, validity, and confirmatory factor analysis. The research sample is 185 retailers-data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results: The results showed that product-based values and relationship-based values positively influenced competitive customer advantage, satisfaction, and loyalty. Conclusions: Relationship value construct can be measured and consist of five dimensions: product quality, delivery performance, customer orientation, service support, and personal interaction. They are key factors that maintain the relationship between principal and retailers. This study indicates that principals must invest more time and effort in building valuable relationships with their retailers. Finally, the value of relationships is a determinant of retailer performance: satisfaction and loyalty.

Predicting of Uncorrected Astigmatism from Decimal Visual Acuity in Spherical Equivalent

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the spherical equivalent visual acuity (VA) and uncorrected astigmatism. On 108 emmetropic eyes, the spherical equivalent VA was measured for cross cylindrical lens (CC lens)-induced astigmatic eyes and the VA-astigmatism relation determined. On 158 astigmatic eyes, the spherical equivalent VA and corrected astigmatism were measured and the measured values were compared with the calculated values from the VA-astigmatism relation by correlation coefficient analysis. Subsequent to that, the relationship between spherical equivalent VA and uncorrected astigmatism was made. The relationship was fitted for an exponential equation. Correlation coefficient between calculated values by equation and measured values for astigmatic eyes was 0.991 (p<0.01). The relationship between the spherical equivalent VA and the uncorrected astigmatism was decided as follows (spherical equivalent VA / uncorrected astigmatism): 1.0 / 0.25 D, 0.9 / 0.50 D, 0.8 / 0.75 D, 0.7 / 1.00 D, 0.6 / 1.25 D, 0.5 / 1.50 D, 0.4 / 2.00 D, 0.3 / 2.50 D, 0.2 / 3.00 D, 0.1 / 4.00 D, and 0.05 / 4.75 D. In conclusion, the relationship table devised from this study is a useful reference for predicting uncorrected astigmatism by measurement of decimal VA in spherical equivalent.

Relationship Quality between Unmarried Adult Children and Their Coresident Parents: Focus on Intergenerational Exchanges and Family Values (부모동거 미혼성인자녀의 부모자녀관계의 질과 관련요인: 세대 간 지원교환, 가족부양관을 중심으로)

  • This study explored the relationships between unmarried adult children and their coresident parents with a focus on the role of intergenerational exchanges and family values affecting parent-child relations. A total of 767 unmarried adult children who lived with their parents were selected from the data of the third National Korean Family Survey in 2015. The main findings were that coresident adult children exchange diverse resources with their parents and that exchange patterns whether receiving more or giving more differed depending on the helping dimensions. 'Receiving' type was more prominent in the dimension of practical help, while, 'receiving and giving' type was more noticeable in the dimension of emotional help. Findings also suggest that intergenerational exchange and family values contribute to parent-child relationship quality. While being an active provider of practical help is positively associated with relationship quality, being a recipient of emotional help is related to a higher level of relationship quality compared to being indifferent. In addition, a stronger value of family responsibility was associated with a higher level of relationship quality. These findings indicate that the importance of the practical and emotional component in the relationships between unmarried adult children and their co-resident parents and reciprocal intergenerational exchange and strong family values may be contributory factors to better parent-child relationships.

A study on antecedents and consequents of relationship commitment toward internet sites and between customers in virtual environment (가상환경에서 대고객 및 고객간 관계결속(Relationship Commitment)의 선행변수와 결과변수에 대한 연구)

  • This study investigates "commitment" , which is the crucial variable in the study of relationship marketing, because I pay attention to the importance of relationship marketing toward consumers in virtual environment. This dissertation whose main issue is about virtual environment focuses on "commitment" from two perspectives. One is customers′ relationship commitment toward enterprises or corporations through internet sites and the other is relationship commitment between customers. The main purpose is to verify antecedents and consequents which influence relationship commitment toward internet sites (corporations or enterprises) and between customers. The hypotheses are that (1) share values and relationship benefit from internet sites affect relationship commitment toward internet sites (2) share values and interactions between customers affect relationship commitment between customers (3) interactions with relationship commitments toward internet sites and between customers exist (4) these relationship commitments affect future intentions. The subjects are university students who I think get used to using internet. The results indicate that (1) antecedents of relationship commitment toward internet sites and between customers are significantly influential (2) relationship commitment toward internet sites influences relationship commitment between customers, but the effect of relationship commitment between customers on relationship commitment toward internet sites is not significant (3) relationship commitment between customers influences future intentions, but the effect of relationship commitment toward internet sites on future intentions is not significant.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare between mothers' and father's the sense of mothers and that of fathers about values related to childcare and satisfaction in a relationship with their spouse and review how the differences in the sense between mothers and fathers affects the parenting stress of wives. Data for this research were collected in April 2007 from 300 couples living in Seoul having a first child younger than 36 months of age. The survey was analyzed using SPSS 12.0. The main results were as follows; First, it was indicated that fathers had a more conventional senses of values relating to childcare and satisfaction in a relationship with the spouse than did mothers. Second, a mother's parenting stress rises according to the level of mother's satisfaction in the relationship with the her spouse. Third, a mother's parenting stress rises by mother's satisfaction in relationship with the spouse lower than father's satisfaction in relationship with the spouse.

Life cycle analysis on correlation relationship between GHG emission and cost of electricity generation system for energy resources (전과정을 고려한 에너지 자원별 전력생산의 온실가스 배출량과 비용의 상관관계 분석)

  • In this work, we analyzed correlations between life-cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and life-cycle cost of energy resources. Energy resources studied in this paper include coal, natural gas, nuclear power, hydropower, geothermal energy, wind power, solar thermal energy, and solar photovoltaic energy, and all of them are used to generate electricity. We calculated the mean values, ranges of maximum minus minimum values, and ranges of 90% confidence interval of life-cycle GHG emissions and life-cycle cost of each energy resource. Based on the values, we plotted them in two dimensional graphs to analyze a relationship and characteristics between GHG emissions and cost. Besides, to analyze the technical maturity, the GHG emissions and the range of minimum and maximum values were compared to each other. For the electric generation, energy resources are largely inverse proportional to the GHG emission and the corresponding cost.
