It is important to maintain information system (IS) following the business and institutional change. Even if successfully developed information systems, we cannot gain the benefit from the systems without the proactive maintenance activities. However, the importance of IS maintenance has not been considered as much as the system development, and we don't have any specific performance management structure. The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between IS maintenance activities and utilization. For empirical test of the hypothesis model, the sample data is collected from public information system sites. Results from multiple regression analysis reveal that proactive maintenance activities including IS maintenance cost increase, improving functionality, and enhancing ease of use have a causal effect on the IS utilization.

Studies in social science are performed on the language of social actors. While a metaphor analysis focuses on the meaning of the language, a cognitive map analysis deals with its external relationships. If we can put together both analyses, it will be possible to investigate the internal meanings and external relationship of the language and image at the same time. In this paper, metaphor analysis and cognitive map approach is applied to find the image of local governments. This study shows how to link metaphor analysis to the cognitive map and the benefit of using both approaches together.

Electric generation cost in district Heating CHP system has close relationship with the level of heating price. So far, the calculation of CHP generation cost has been based on cost recovery system in which revenue requirement deducted the revenue from heating-sales. The restructuring of electricity industry determines the market-clearing price every hour and made it impossible that the loss due to the above market cost can be attributed to the generation cost. Hence, the loss is compensated by energy subsidy program in public benefit charge. This analysis derives an efficient action plan for future subsidy program.

전력산업에 경쟁제도가 도입되면 전력 생산자와 소비자는 전력 시장을 통하여 그들의 편익을 최대화 하고자 한다. 발전사업자와 수요자사이에 거래되는 시장에서의 전력 가격은 시장에 공급되는 전력량과 전력수요량에 따라 균형을 이루는 점으로 결정되고 이 점에서 사회편익이 최대가 된다. 소비자의 전력사용지불의사에 따라 달라지는 전력 수요랑을 표현하는 가격탄력성에 따라 시장에서 결정되는 가격은 변하게되고, 전력 생사자는 변화하는 전력생산비용을 요금에 반영함으로써 전력수요에 적절한 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 탄력성이 변함에 따라 달라지는 사회적 편익과 전력시장 참여자인 생산자와 소비자 편익변화를 가상적 시나리오에 따른 모의 실험을 통하여 경쟁적 전력시장의 경우 가격탄력성이 클수록 사회적 편익이 증가함을 보였다.

For competitive hotel business, the hotel must have a sound prediction capability to balance the demand and supply of hospitality products. To have a sound prediction capability in the hotel, it should be prepared to be equipped with a new technology such as quantum computing. The quantum computing is a brand new cutting-edge technology. It will change hotel business and even the whole world too. Therefore, we study the impact of quantum computing on supply chain management (SCM) and hotel performance. Toward the goal we have developed the research model including six constructs: quantum (computing) prediction, communication, supplier relationship, service quality, non-financial performance, and financial performance. The result of the study shows a significant influence of quantum (computing) prediction on hotel performance through the mediating role of SCM in the hotel. Quantum prediction is highly significant in enhancing the SCM in the hotel. However, the direct effect between the quantum prediction and hotel performance is not significant. The finding indicates that hotels which would install the quantum computing technology and utilize the quantum prediction could hugely benefit from the performance improvement.

Hemodynamically significant preterm patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) affects mortality; comorbidities such as necrotizing enterocolitis, intraventricular hemorrhage, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia; and adverse long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants, particularly in very low birth weight infants. However, recent studies have indicated that there is no consensus on the causal relationship between PDA and neonatal outcomes, the benefit of PDA treatment, the factors guiding the need for treatment, and optimal treatment strategies. Such uncertainty has resulted in wide variations in practice for treating preterm PDA between units, regions, and nations. Nowadays, there has been a paradigm shift to more conservative treatment for preterm PDA, and suggestions regarding selective management of preterm PDA considering risk factors and hemodynamic significance are increasing. Neonatologist-performed echocardiography and advances in modalities to assess hemodynamic significance such as biologic markers and near-infrared spectroscopy also help improve the efficacy of selective treatment of preterm PDA.

Tourism businesses use chat services to provide immediate customer support and to help users navigate within a website, but there are more outcomes of this interaction that should be examined. The current study aimed to discover if the online travel chat service quality and information value of the online travel chat service lead to user satisfaction with the service and visit intention to a recommended destination by Korea Tourism Organization's 1330 Live Chat. The results indicate that information value (functional and innovation) and online travel chat service quality (reliability, assurance, and security) lead to satisfaction with the live chat service and visit intention to a recommended destination. The results can benefit practitioners who want to expand and improve their customer service interaction and recommendations, and to scholars who study the relationship between customer services in tourism recommendation and sales context.

This paper presents a study on construction safety in the People Democratic Republic of Laos (PDRL). Fifty workers experienced certain injuries in their construction sites and 15 top managers were interviewed in twenty-six construction projects in Vientiane, the capital of PDRL. Research results show that stepping on and/or striking against objects (48%), struck by falling objects (24%), falling of persons (12%) are major types of construction injuries. The paper stresses that the ignorance of top managers about their crucial role in safety improvement, using safety incentive to raise safety performance, lack of thorough understanding about benefit from labor safety performance, and the willingness to cut off safety performance expenditures is considered as obstructions of safety improvement programs. The survey indicates that physical working conditions, relationship among workers, foremen behaviors and the monthly wage were influencing factors to worker's job satisfaction. The study also highlights afternoon as dominant time that led to a large number of injuries.

Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), a potent gastric acid inhibitor, are widely used in gastric acid-related diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer, and are known as the most frequently used drugs worldwide. However, as the frequency of use increases, the number of cases of long-term PPI therapy without clear indications is increasing. Recently, there have been concerns about the risk of gastric cancer in patients with long-term PPI users. Potential mechanisms for the association between PPI and gastric cancer include enterochromaffin-like cell proliferation due to hypergastrinemia caused by gastric acid suppression, progression of atrophic gastritis, and corpus-predominant type through interaction with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. Several epidemiologic studies showed controversial results on the issue, and it is difficult to prove a causal relationship between PPI and gastric cancer. Nevertheless, long-term PPI should be administered cautiously based on individual risk-benefit profile, specifically among those with history of H. pylori infection, in high-risk region of gastric cancer.
