The Reinvention of Traditional Cuisine as Counterculture (대항문화로서의 전통음식의 재탄생)

  • This paper discusses how the traditional cuisine of Korea capitalizes on "nostalgia" for the past. While examining the (re)invention of Buddhist cuisine and Andong food, this paper contends that traditional Korean cuisine is commodified through a process of de-contexualization. This paper first discusses the possibility that the idea of traditional cuisine is an invention in the first place. The history of temple food, for instance, suggests that it was created as a vehicle for circulating and implementing the ruling ideology in the ancient societies of China. This paper then turns to the issue of the growing influence of traditional cuisine in contemporary Korean culture, which is related to the public's demand for healthy food and also tied with the South Korean society's need for promoting a national cuisine in the age of globalization. The rise of traditional cuisine is a sign that people are seeking to reform their eating habits and form a counterculture. Yet, another side of the story is that consumers end up taking part in the self-expanding capitalist market with more consumer choices rather than forming a genuine counterculture. In this respect, the reinvention of temple food is closely related to what Jean and John L. Comaroff call the "emergence of consumption as a privileged site for the fabrication of self and society, of culture and identity".

Imagining the Reinvention of Definitions : an Analysis of Lesson Plays ('정의'의 재발명을 상상하다 : Lesson Play의 분석)

  • Though teachers' lesson plays, this article analysed teachers' knowledge for mathematical teaching about mathematical definitions and their pedagogical difficulties in teaching defining. Although the participant teachers didn't transmit definitions to students and suggested possible definitions of the given geometric figure in their imaginary lessons, they didn't teach defining as deductive organization of properties of the geometric figure. They considered mathematical definition as a mere linguistic convention of a word, so they couldn't appreciate the necessity of deductive organization in teaching definitions, and the arbitrary nature of mathematical definitions. Therefore, for learning to teach definitions differently, it is necessary for teachers to reflect the gap between the everyday and mathematical definitions in teachers'education.

  • In this study, a teaching units for teaching and learning of secondary preservice teachers' mathematising is designed, focusing on reinvention of Bretschneider's formula. preservice teachers can obtain the following through this teaching units. First, preservice teachers can experience mathematising which invent a noumenon which organize a phenomenon, They can make an experience to invent Bretscheider's formula as if they invent mathematics really. Second, preservice teachers can understand one of the mechanisms of mathematics knowledge invention. As they reinvent Brahmagupta's formula and Bretschneider's formula, they understand a mechanism that new knowledge is invented Iron already known knowledge by analogy. Third, preservice teachers can understand connection between school mathematics and academic mathematics. They can understand how the school mathematics can connect academic mathematics, through the relation between the school mathematics like formulas for calculating areas of rectangle, square, rhombus, parallelogram, trapezoid and Heron's formula, and academic mathematics like Brahmagupta's formula and Bretschneider's formula.

  • It has been argued that Enterprise systems (ES) implementations are overshadowed by a high failure rate despite their promised benefits. One of the commonly cited reasons for ES implementation failures in the context of mandatory use is end-user's unwillingness or sabotage to adopt or use systems. Considering that the appropriate management of expectations may play an important role in making positive behavior toward newly implemented systems, this study examines the effect of outcome expectations on the system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems from the Social Cognitive Theory perspective. Structural equation model analysis using LISREL 8.7 provides significant support for the proposed relationships. The empirical results suggest that outcome expectations and user satisfaction have positive effects on system use activity conceptualized by immersion, reinvention, and learning. Theoretical and practical implications of the study shed some light on how to improve system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems.

  • Stone cave paintings are continuous interactions as independent mediums in places such as text, images and stone cave architecture. Unlike Buddha statues, the narrative of the text always fascinates and guides the viewer to the timeliness of the image, that is, the narrative. In particular, in Buddhist art, Buddha statues are never simple images, and murals are never simple paintings. Before the Tang Dynasty, most unknown artists were artisans, and many artists still worked on murals in temples and palaces, and independent paintings such as scrolls and sides became an important form of painting after the Tang Dynasty, changing the mechanism of painting creation. In this paper, the graphic creation process prioritizes dedication and service, but we can still feel the creativity of the painters strongly. The historical resources of how to paint these paintings, the clues to the copies, and the precursor to the foreground, encourage the painters to constantly try to resemble each other and discover problems...Therefore, in this paper, it was confirmed that reinvention and creativity are very important, and that Dunhuang Buddhist art is the basis for artists' creation and the source of vitality.

  • Digital transformation(DT) is about reinventing the enterprise, completely changing its vision, strategy, organizational structure, processes, capabilities, and culture. Therefore, companies preparing or embarking on DT must be able to identify their current status and assess their level for successful DT. In this study, we developed indicators to diagnose and evaluate the current level of a company for successful DT. The current level was actually evaluated by using the evaluation indicators developed for the financial industry (insurance, securities, etc.), an industry where DT is currently being successfully introduced. The most important aspect of this study is that it provides metrics to evaluate the adoption an progress of digital transformation when reinvention a company, rather than a partial view.

How can we teach the 'definition' of definitions? (정의의 '정의'를 어떻게 가르칠 것인가?)

  • Definition of geometric figure in middle school geometry seems to mere meaning of the term which could be perceived visually through its shape. However, Much research reported the low achievements of definitions of basic geometric figures. It suggested the limitation of instrumental understanding. In this research, I guided gifted middle school students to reinvent definitions of basic geometric figure by the deductive organization of its properties as Freudenthal pointed. These students understood relationally about why some geometric figure can be defined this way and how it could be defined equally via other properties. This analysis of reinventing of definitions will be a stepping stone to reflect on the pedagogical problems in teaching geometry and to search the new alternatives.

An analysis on 'storytelling' shown on the first grader's mathematics textbooks of the middle school (중학교 1 학년 수학교과서에 나타난 스토리텔링 특성에 대한 분석)

  • This study was to focus on analyzing about the composition of storytelling in the first graders' math textbooks of the middle school, which were recently implemented. The textbooks published by three well known publishing companies were chosen and three graduate students had scored the frequency of the problems according to three types of storytelling. As the results, in areas of mathematics, Number & Operation(44.23%), Letters & Formula(44.53%), Function(46.53%), Probability(41.67%), Geometry(46.23%) showed to have storytelling in balance. The type of 'explosion of mathematical history(EMH)' was shown in geometry most, the type of 'connection to daily life(CDL)' in statistics most, and the type of integration of disciplines(ID)' in geometry most in 5 math areas. Among three types of storytelling, the type of EMH was shown fewer that other 2 types. If we develop more problems in this type, students would study mathematics in-depth according to Freudenthal's principle of historical reinvention.

  • For preservice teachers' instrumental-to-relational pedagogical content knowledge transformations, this research designed several didactical tasks based on Kinach's cognitive strategies. The researcher identified preservice teachers' understanding about what is a definition and how to teach it. By challenging their fixed ideas about definitions, the researcher could motivate them to embrace the new teaching approach which guides reinvention of definitions. The PCK development was not the simple process of filling their tabular rasa PCK with theories of mathematics education, but the dialectical process of identifying, challenging, changing and extending preservice teachers' existent PCK. This research will contribute to explore new directions of mathematics teachers' PCK development and the method of teacher education.

Strategies for Recreation of Metaverse Convergence Space (메타버스 융복합 공간의 재창조를 위한 전략)

  • In this paper, we consider the potential of a metaverse space that can be expanded infinitely through the reinvention of the metaverse space. In particular, this study attempted to establish a new concept of metaverse space, and to present research models and strategies between technologies and humanities. To perform this, this study revealed problems that can be overlooked through characteristic analysis of the metaverse space and proposed ways to overcome them through in-depth interviews with experts. In this way, interdisciplinary research will contribute to the revitalization of the metaverse content industry in the mid to long term. Therefore, through this study, it is expected that reinterpreted metaverse space can reach a practical realization as a meaningful place of life and a creative space through Yi-Fu Tuan's concept.
