The effects of the online team project-based learning on problem solving ability, cooperative self efficacy and cooperative self regulation in students of department of physical therapy

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the online team project based learning on problem-solving, cooperative self-efficacy, and cooperative self-regulation of college students. Design: Single group pre-post design. Methods: The online team project based learning was conducted for a total of 92 college students for 8 weeks. A survey was conducted on problem-solving ability, cooperative self-efficacy, and cooperative self-regulation. In the online team project-based class, two projects were performed. It consists of video lectures and real-time video conferencing. Through the real-time video conference, the project was carried out based on discussion among learners and feedback was provided. Results: There was a significant difference in the change in problem-solving ability compared to before learning (p<0.05). As a result of the evaluation of cooperative self-efficacy, there was a significant difference (p<0.05). There was a significant differences in cooperative self-regulation compared to before learning (p<0.05). Conclusion: The online team project-based learning are effective in improving learners' problem-solving ability, cooperative self-efficacy, and cooperative self-regulation.

Effects of an emotional regulation program on maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, stress, anxiety, and postpartum depression among South Korean mothers of premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit

  • Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT)-based emotional regulation program for mothers of premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Methods: The study utilized a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Seventeen mothers were recruited for the experimental group and 21 mothers for the control group. Data were collected from July 9, 2018, to Oct 12, 2018 from mothers of premature infants in the NICU regarding parental stress, state anxiety, depression, and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation. The experimental group received eight sessions of the REBT-based emotional regulation program for 3~4 weeks, and the control group only received standard nursing care. Results: Significant differences were found between the two groups in maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation (Z=-3.88, p<.001), stress (Z=-2.76, p=.006), state anxiety (Z=-3.72, p<.001), and postpartum depression(Z=-2.62, p=.009) after the intervention in the experimental group. Conclusion: The REBT-based emotional regulation program for mothers of premature infants was effective for reducing maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, stress, anxiety, and postpartum depression. Therefore, it may be necessary to provide an REBT-based emotional regulation program for mothers of premature infants in the NICU in clinical practice.

  • This research analyzes clean room major fire prevention standard of clean Room (FM, IRI, and NFPA Code), the structure of Performance-Based Fire Safety Design (PBD) applied the korean fire industry situation. Performance-Based Fire Safety can operate effectively the performance of fire protection equipment & building design, so the fitness of fire safety system can be embodied by operating this. moreover, cost to be consume fire safety of real building can reduce and Performance-Based Fire Safety is considered to important technique in fire protection field. A fire in a clean room may cause a serious loss by spreading smoke particles. We will be investigated by using a computational fluid dynamics, for loss prevention by smoke spreading from one fire area to another for clean room and compared the Performance-Based Fire Safety Design with the prescriptive code design. The methodology of fire safety performance-based fire safety design and guarantee of many kinds design skill of fire system and developing design procedure will be very serious one in order to improve efficiency of domestic system. Therefore, This research will be contributing to secure safety of clean room and to set up the performance-based fire safety design in Korea by regulation for the performance-based fire safety design effectively.

  • Recently ship safety regulations are being reinforced to improve maritime safety and to prevent maritime pollution by International Maritime Organization. It means that the regulation is becoming more proactive rather than reactive. In the mean time, design philosophy is also moving from rule based design to performance and simulation based design. In this paper, a study on practical application of the damage safety assessment system is carried out. The damage stability and the survivability of a cargo ship that was designed based on current regulation is investigated using performance based design tools in order to improve the safety of the design and verify the performance of the developed damage safety assessment system. To do this, damage scenarios is established and the characteristics and geometry the cargo ship is modeled. A new design alternative is proposed with small change in the internal arrangement based on safety evaluation results of the current design.

  • The study aims to supplement facility management plan and safety regulations & standard of oil pipeline by searching and reviewing related regulation & standard inside and outside of the country. Korean regulation & standard is reviewed based on harbor and fishery design standard of the ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries, general technology standard of oil pipeline safety regulation, gas excavation construction and safety maintenance indicator of Korea gas corporation. Global regulation & standard is reviewed based on U.S standard inspection for offshore pipeline and Europe/Mexico standard inspection for offshore pipeline. The contents of offshore pipeline installation is inserted into pipeline sector for objected facilities of safety inspection regulation & standard and, the standard of safety inspection for offshore pipeline is newly presented into pipeline maintenance part of the planning facilities management with its inspection period and method.

Building Code Typology and Application for Open BIM based Code Checking (개방형BIM기반의 건축법규검토를 위한 법규유형화 및 적용방안)

  • Recently, Productivity of the construction industry has been decreasing than other industries. Because of this, BIM is being spread in the construction industry. However, quality criteria for BIM data is insufficient. Regulation information is an important factor for initial architectural design evaluations. However, building code and related regulation are numerous. National building code structure in Korea is much more complex than other countries. The purpose of this study is to suggest the typology method of building code and apply to real regulations. To achieve this purpose, the authors have extracted required information to from original regulation for code checking and suggested mapping methods between extracted information and information of IFC scheme. In addition, the authors have represented EXPRESS-G diagram for extracting information from IFC scheme and suggested code checking method through stair case. Output of this study can be used as a base line data for automated code checking system based on open BIM. Automated code checking system will be utilized in architectural design evaluations and supported to increase design quality. It can be used to mount in SEUMTER that is the construction administration system of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).

Innovative Model-Based PID Control Design for Bus Voltage Regulation with STATCOM in Multi-Machine Power Systems (STATCOM을 사용한 다기 전력 계통의 버스 전압 조절을 위한 모델 기반 PID 제어기 설계)

  • The complexity and severe nonlinearity of multi-machine power systems make it difficult to design a control input for voltage regulation using modern control theory. This paper presents a model-based PID control scheme for the regulation of the bus voltage to a desired value. To this end, a fourth-order linear system is constructed using input and output data obtained using the TSAT (Transient Security Assessment Tool); the input is assumed to be applied to the grid through the STATCOM (STATic synchronous COMpensator) and the output from the grid is a bus voltage. On the basis of the model, it is identified as to which open-loop poles of the system make the response to a step input oscillatory. To reduce this oscillatory response effectively, a model-based PID control is designed in such a way that the oscillatory poles are no longer problematic in the closed loop. Simulation results show that the proposed PID control dampens the response effectively.

  • Placement method for fire detectors prescribed in current fire safety regulation is just about placing a prescribed number of detectors according to the areas. However, this regulation has no scientific basis and standards from foreign countries are just introduced and fire detectors are installed complying with them. There are two standards in designing fire protection systems; Prescriptive-Based Design that follows stipulated regulations like fire safety standards and Performance-Based Design based on engineering knowledge such as fire dynamics, structural dynamics, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, and thermo dynamics. Recently, Fire Protection System Construction Business Act was revised so that fire protection systems can be designed using Performance-Based Design method ('05. 8. 4), though the method has not activated until now. In addition, the enforcement decree defines the range for specific objects of fire protection to which Performance-Based Design is applied ('07, 1. 24). At the moment, by manufacturing simulator so that formulas can be introduced and calculated with software in order to install fire detector of automatic fire detection systems keeping optimized distance, comparing the results with the state of fire detector placed according to Performance-Based Design and analyzing them, this study was intended to settle Performance-Based Design method in the future.

Decentralized Vehicle-to-Grid Design for Frequency Regulation within Price-based Operation

  • The utilization of electric vehicles has been suggested to support the frequency regulation of power system. Assuming that an intermediate aggregator exists, this study suggests a decentralized vehicle-to-grid operation scheme in which each vehicle-to-grid aggregator can behave independently of the power system operator. To implement this type of decentralized operation, this study adopts a price-based operation that has been proposed by many researches as an alternative operation scheme for the power system. In this environment, each vehicle-to-grid aggregator can determine its participation in vehicle-to-grid service in consideration of its residual energy of aggregated system and real-time market price. Consequently, the main purpose of this study is to verify whether or not the vehicle-to-grid power can effectively support the current frequency regulation function within the price-based operation scheme. Specifically, a frequency regulation method is proposed based on the real-time price signal, and a feedback controller for battery management is designed for decentralized vehicle-to-grid operation.
