Background The purpose of this study is to analyze the current attitudes toward professionalism, the core values, and the type of professionalism among plastic surgeons in Korea to establish a code of ethics regarding the role of professionalism for plastic and reconstructive surgeons. Methods From March 9, to July 1, 2012, face-to-face and mail surveys were conducted targeting the 325 participants (256 specialists and 69 residents) who are registered members of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. The proportion of each response given to an item was obtained through statistical processing through frequency analysis. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the differences in the responses between the resident group and the specialist group. Results The survey results on the perception of professionalism in plastic surgery showed that a high proportion (90.5%) of the respondents viewed the future of plastic surgeons as bright. Through evaluation of the importance of the value items,"professional dominance" (4.58 pts), "autonomy" (4.45 pts), "lifestyle" (4.34 pts), and "commercialism" (4.31 pts) were assessed as critical values. "Altruism" (3.84 pts), "interpersonal competence" (3.79 pts), and "social justice" (3.61 pts) were viewed as lesser values. This difference showed the characteristics of an entrepreneurial outlook. Conclusions Plastic surgeons should pursue excellence, humanism, accountability, and altruism in order to overcome the crisis of professionalism in plastic surgery. In order to develop the necessary competencies of professionals, vocational education should be arranged by the Korean Society of Plastic Surgeons, and an appropriate code of ethics should be established.
Objectives : This study aims to investigate the recognition on Mibyeong among Korean Medicine doctors (KMDs) and to suggest institutional approaches for the active use of Mibyeong. Methods : On-line survey for KMDs who were registered in the Association of Korean Medicine was performed. The survey questionnaires included definitions and categories of Mibyeong, clinical use of Mibyeong, and the need for developing Mibyeong care packages, etc. Results : Of 18,344 KMDs who were received survey e-mail, 884 KMDs replied. As for the awareness of the Mibyeong, over 80% of the KMDs agreed the definitions based on patients' subjective symptoms and Korean Medicine theories. 36.1% of respondents used the term Mibyeong in the medical record, and 38.6% used when they explained the patients' condition to the patients. A majority of respondents agreed with the need for a developing Mibyeong care package. Developing the standard methods for Mibyeong assessment was the primary requisite on Mibyeong research. Conclusions : Currently the level of recognition and use of Mibyeong among Korean Medicine doctors was relatively low. To promote the use of Mibyeong in the clinical field, the standard methods for Mibyeong assessment and Mibyeong care package need to be developed.

Purpose: To evaluate every step of the cancer screening program. Method: 146 of 233 health centers participated in this study. Data were collected by mailing questionnaires between December 2002 and January 2003. The response rate was 65.5%. Result: The government cancer screening program was directed by a variety of departments of the health centers. 41.1% of persons in charges were nurses. 41.3% of the health centers received a list of the appropriate person from the National Health Insurance Cooperation within one or two months. 26.1% of health centers received ??? after five month from when the program started. All the health centers advertised their services, and most of them used mail and mass media 56.4%, used other institute's materials, and 72.2% of them used the government's materials. 76.7% of the heath centers recommended secondary health screening to the persons who had positive results at the first screening. 71.6% of the health centers ascertained the patients with cancer who were diagnosed at secondary screenings. 67.9% of the health centers had registered home-based cancer patients at the health center. 137 out of 146 health centers had a local institute for cancer screening; an average of 4.9 institutes had cancer screening. 80.1% of the persons in charge of the programs felt they needed this program, but 80.8% of them thought the program should be modified. Conclusion: Organized and standardized programs are needed to promote the efficiency of National Cancer Screening Program.
Objectives: The prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms (WMS) among Korean dairy farmers has not been investigated. The purpose of this study was to assess the prevalence of WMS and to evaluate the relationship between WMS and risk factors. Methods: Self-developed questionnaires including the questionnaire developed by the Korean Occupational Safety and Health agency (KOSHA) were used to investigate WMS among dairy farmers in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. We informed selected dairy farmers about the study and sent the questionnaires by registered mail. They visited a public health center nearby or a branch of public health center on the appointed date and skillful researchers identified or conducted the questionnaires by interview. We analyzed 598 (32.8%) of the 1824 dairy farmers. Multiple logistic regression was implemented to estimate the odds ratios of risk factors. Results: The mean age of the respondents was $50.4{\pm}8.7$ years and the proportion of males was 63.0%. The prevalence of WMS at any site was 33.3%. The prevalence of neck WMS was 2.2%, shoulders 10.0%, arms/elbows 5.0%, hands/wrists/fingers 4.2%, low back 11.5%, and legs/feet 11.7%. The adjusted odds ratio of low back WMS for milking 4 or more hours per day was 4.231 (95% Cl = 1.124 - 15.932) and statistically significant. Low back WMS (2.827, 95% Cl = 1.545 - 5.174) was significantly decreased by education. Conclusions: Low back WMS increased with milking hours and milking 4 or more hours per day was significantly associated with low back WMS. Low back WMS was significantly reduced with education. We hope that there will be increased attention about WMS in dairy farmers and the subject of future investigations.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to increase the utilization of Korean Medicine Clinical Practice Guidelines(KMCGP) for ankle sprain by investigating the recognition of guideline developed in 2015 and evaluating the current status of treatment. Methods: An e - mail questionnaire survey was conducted for Korean medicine doctor(K.M.D) registered in Korean Medicine Association. Survey data were analyzed through Excel. Results: The most common Korean medicine treatments used in clinic were acupuncture(adjacent points)(28.5%), cupping therapy(19.7%) and pharmacopuncture(9.8%). The treatments with high patient satisfaction were acupuncture (adjacent points)(27.9%), moxibustion(22.4%) and herbal medicine(10.4%). Herbal medicine(17.9%), tuina(10.7%) and embedding therapy(9.2%) were difficult to perform during treatment because of cost. In the case of a later revision, respondents most thought it is necessary to update evidence and adjust recommendation ratings. A majority of all respondents said they would like to know about the revised guideline through the Internet. In the expected revision effect, the first order was 'presentation of standardized treatment method', the second was 'establishing the basis of Korean medicine treatment', and the third was 'strengthening the status of Korean medicine as therapeutic medicine'. Many respondents wished to add exercise therapy. In order to increase the utilization rate of the guideline, many respondents thought it should be included in textbooks and 90.6% of respondents answered that they would use more than 50% of the revised guideline. Conclusion: It is necessary to update evidence and adjust recommendation ratings and to promote KMCGP. At the same time treatment methods should be taught to K.M.D

Blockchain is a technology that secures integrity and transparency by distributing and storing transaction details within multiple node networks. Recently, research is being conducted to secure integrity by applying blockchain to Bill of Lading (B/L documents) of monetary value. In this paper, we study a blockchain-based bill of lading system to improve usability. The shippers register the issued bill of lading on the blockchain, and banks in each country read it to conduct L/C transactions. The consignees receive the goods after completing certification with a quick response code (QR) containing the bill of lading information. Through this, shippers enjoy merits in that they can shorten the time and cost of sending shipping documents by mail and prove the integrity of the documents. The consignees have the advantage of being able to check the documents at the same time as they are registered and trust the transaction. Finally, on the bank side, the security of shipping documents is ensured and verification can be done quickly.

Objectives: This study aimed to understand the current status of clinical practice patterns of Korean medicine in the treatment of degenerative arthritis of the hip and finger joints using web-based survey. Methods: An e-mail questionnaire survey was conducted with the Korean Medicine Doctor(K.M.D) registered in the Korean Medicine Association. The survey data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Results: Although the response rate of the survey was low, the characteristics of the respondents generally reflected the characteristics of the study population. A total of 35.2% of the respondents had heard of the guidelines; however, they did not use them for medical treatment. The reason as answered by 32.8% of the respondents was "not enough treatment time to check the manual and apply it." More than half (78.80%) answered that they were treating patients with both degenerative hip and finger arthritis; however, the average monthly number of first-time patients was ≤5. A total of 379 (60.9%) respondents answered that "acupuncture is very important," which was the only one that exceeded the majority compared to other treatments. As a result of the safety investigation, "Acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping" were considered high in safety, while "Pharmacopuncture and Bee venom acupuncture" were considered low in safety. Conclusions: This survey helped to determine the current clinical practice patterns of Korean medicine treatments, further providing basic data for CPGs for degenerative arthritis of the hip and finger joints.

Objectives : This study tries to find the educational basis based on the radiation safety knowledge, attitudes and behaviors to check the level of radiation safety behavior in domestic students who study dental hygiene. Methods : The students of 3rd and 4th grades in 83 universities which have registered on the Korean University Education Council were involved, and they were given a questionnaire for this study. The questionnaire was provided via visit with 20 copies to each university (total 1660 copies), mail by post and e-mail. Among them, we analyzed only 723 copies that we can trust. The data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson's correlation using the SPSS/WIN 15.0. Results : As a result, there are correlations in the students' knowledge, attitudes and behaviors regarding the radiation safety management. It means that the education which can improve the knowledge and attitudes should be applied to increase the action level of the radiation safety. In addition, the physical environment is the most closely correlated with the individual behavior, so it will be limited to improve the behavioral levels of the radiation safety if the physical environment is not prepared. Therefore, the physical environment should be supported to enhance the level of the radiation safety activity, and to increase the individual attitude level of radiation safety. Conclusions : The knowledge level of the radiation safety management is relatively lower than the attitudes level, and the behavior level is the lowest. Therefore, the education policy of the safety behavior must be enhanced. For domestic students, the educational intervention is necessary to improve their behavioral level of radiation safety management because they will be able to reduce the amount of radiation exposure of their patients in dental care after getting a job.
