운송 파급효과가 항공네트워크와 지역경제에 미치는 영향 (Transport Spillover Effect on Airport Networks and Its Impact on Regional Economy)

  • Air transport is at the core of global economic growth. There is a close relationship between the flow of regional elements and the growth of the regional economy. It is easy to misestimate the impact of airports on the regional economy without considering spatial spillover effects. This study attempted to establish an asymmetric economic geographical weight matrix by applying the Spatial Durbin Model with cargo volume and passenger numbers as indicators. The influence of spillover effects on the regional economy, including direct spillover effects and indirect spillover effects are studied. The results revealed that passenger numbers and cargo volume have significant positive spillover effects on the regional economy. The driving effect of the airport on the regional economy was considered from a wider space scope. This study contributes to the scientific evaluation of the aviation economy.

재택가족기업의 지역경제 기여도 (Economic Contributions to Regional Economy of Home-based family Businesses)

  • Purpose of this study was to examine economic contributions to regional economic of home-based family businesses. Results showed that home-based family businesses create additional employments within the region, contribute to taxation of the regional economy, and improve regional financing. In addition, home-based family businesses do contribute to regional economy through consuming goods and services within the region and providing goods and services to the region. Through analyzing economic contributions to regional economy of home-based family businesses, it can be suggested that strong support for the home-based family businesses is needed for growth of the regional economy.

집적 (불)경제와 공간경제로서의 지역 경제 성장 (Agglomeration (Dis-) Economies and Regional Economic Growth as a Spatial Economy)

  • A regional economy is characterized as a spatial economy. However the literature shows that it has been treated as a point economy since space is little recognized in regional modeling due to mathematical complication. This leads to the fact that regional model does not sufficiently represent regional characteristic. This paper attempts to construct a regional growth model in a partial equilibrium framework specifically taking into consideration land as a primary factor. The model is formulated largely neoclassical. Labor is assumed to move in response to differences in the wage rate, while capital is perfectly mobile across regions. The paper shows that two growth equilibrium points exist, one stable equilibrium point and the other unstable equilibrium point. The unstable growth equilibrium indicates the existence of minimum threshold that a region must overcome the minimum threshold to grow constantly. Consequently, directions of regional growth are characterized by two growth paths depending on the initial condition of a region. That is to say, a region below the minimum threshold is converging toward the lower stable equilibrium point over time. When a regional economy initially lies above the minimum threshold, it will grow forever. A regional economy is not thus necessarily converging a stationary is not thus necessarily converging a stationary equilibrium point through factor movement. Finally, the impacts of the presence of agglomeration economies and diseconomies are analyzed through the phase diagram. The paper also shows that agglomeration economies result in lowering the minimum threshold and in escalating the level of stable equilibrium However, when agglomeration diseconomies prevail, the results are opposite, i.e., rising the minimum threshold of growth and lowering the growth level of stable equilibrium.

Futhermore various components in a port and regional economy exert significant influence on each other. To copy with these problem the form of structure models were introduced by using SD model. This study has the issue of simplifying the regional economic effects of the port as contributing to raising the regional income. The regional economic effects of port have various indirect ones except for this. So, SD(System Dynamics) was presented, and applied to simulate port and regional economy.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the economic effects of the on going Korea-EU FTA negotiations upon the regional economy and to present some strategic economic countermeasures to deal with the forthcoming changes on the economic environments. In comparing with the industrial structure between Korea and EU, due to the different specific part of their industrial competitiveness both parts would have complementary cooperative transactions and trade as well. And also Korea and EU would have the similar understanding of the importance of the field of agriculture and service in accordance with the economic standpoint respectively. The level of degree and magnitude of the effect of Korea-EU FTA upon the regional economy would be decided in accordance with the industrial structure and the level of income of the regional economy. We are not to confirm and specify the economic influences of Korea-EU FTA negotiations on the economic conditions of Gangwon province but to prepare rational economic countermeasures fit to its structural character. One of the political strategies that might be feasible is the inflow of foreign direct investment from the developed European countries to the regional economy. This developing model would mean a new experiment to activate any regional economy and a new formation of the policy of economic growth.

Local Superior Commodities, Regional Specializations and Regional Economic Contributions

  • Purpose - The purpose of was paper is to do a conceptual analysis of the determination of local superior commodities using the location quotient technique and an analysis of the contribution of superior products to the regional economy. The results of determining superior commodities are used to determine regional product specialization and its contribution to the regional economy. Local superior commodities are dynamic and selected based on the potential to increase regional income. Research design, data, and methodology - This study used location quotient techniques and regional economic analysis with annual data rocks, production data in the agriculture, plantation, fishery and forestry sectors. Local superior commodities are calculated to contribute to regional economists. Result - The findings obtained showed the location quotient technique can determine local superior commodities and local superior commodities contributed positively to the regional economy. The test results were carried out in Jember Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. Conclusion - The ass well main commodities of Jember Regency are tobacco. Tobacco commodities contribute positively to the regional economy, they were not significantly due to affected by the low of commodity prices in harvest. The low prices indicate the strength of the weak bargaining position of farmers towards the market.

The Effect of Road Transportation Infrastructure on Freight Transport Mobility and Regional Economy in Indonesia

  • This research aims to examine the influence of road transportation infrastructure on the mobility of goods transport and the regional economy in Langkat Regency in Indonesia. This type of research is an associative and explanatory research whose data is obtained through a questionnaire survey. This study took a sample of 305 respondents using probability sampling in Langkat Regency, North Sumatera, Indonesia. Data analysis techniques use path analysis. The research results showed that the road transportation infrastructure variables had a significant and positive effect on the mobility of goods transport. Road transportation infrastructure and freight mobility simultaneously have a significant and positive effect on the economy of Langkat Regency. Road transportation infrastructure with the dimensions of road accessibility and maintenance partially directly has a significant and positive effect on the economy of the Langkat Regency. Road transportation infrastructure with the dimensions of road design and road construction quality partially does not have a direct effect on the regional economy, but has a positive and significant effect through the mobility of freight transport. The mobility of goods transport becomes an intervening variable that acts to mediate or determine the relationship between road transportation infrastructure variables to the regional economy.

스마트 특성화가 지역경제성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of smart specialisation on the Regional Economy)

  • 지역의 혁신역량은 지속 가능한 지역경제의 주요한 성장의 원천으로 받아들여지고 있으며 이에 관한 많은 연구가 보고되었다. 최근에는 지역혁신체제의 정책적 수행과정에서 지역의 특성을 반영해야 한다는 스마트 특성화 전략이 제안되었으나, 실증 연구는 제한적인 결과를 제시하는 데 그치고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 스마트 특성화를 기존의 지역혁신 연구의 보완 전략으로 접근하여 한계점을 극복하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 스마트 특성화를 지역혁신체제의 대체 전략이 아닌 지역혁신역량의 제도 요소로 보고, 지역혁신역량과 지역경제 간 관계를 분석하여 스마트 특성화가 지역경제에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 국내 16개 시·도에 대해 2009-2018년의 10개년으로 구성한 패널 모형을 통해 연구를 수행하였으며, 적합한 패널 모형을 탐색하는 과정을 통해 최종적으로 FGLS모형을 활용하였다. 연구 결과 산업의 연관 다양성과 비연관 다양성으로 구성된 스마트 특성화는 지역경제에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 기반 요소, 촉진 요소로 나누어 측정한 다른 지역혁신역량 역시 지역경제에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 기존 지역혁신과 지역경제 간 긍정적인 연구 결과를 확인하였다. 본 연구는 국내 연구가 부족한 스마트 특성화를 지역혁신역량의 제도적 요소로 보고 지역별 산업 연관 다양성과 비연관 다양성을 통해 이를 측정하였다는 데 의의가 있다.
