  • The strengthening of Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) for clinical research on advanced regenerative medicine reflecting the 3 Principles of the Belmont Report (Respect, Beneficence, Justice) is very important. The research institution IRB should naturally be in charge of managing the clinical research process. And it is crucial to reinforce HRPP for the protection of research subjects in institutions conducting advanced regeneration clinical research. So, it is needed to establish a Protection System for Advanced Regenerative Medical Research Subjects composed of clinical research management communication system for advanced regenerative medicine between KAIRB (Korean Association of IRB) of research institutes and National Management Agency for Advanced Regenerative Medical Research. In advanced regenerative medicine clinical research to verify safety and efficacy of the investigational drugs to the subjects with rare and incurable diseases rather than to treat the patients, it is hoped that a management system that guarantees the scientific characteristics of research and the rights of research subjects would be well organized and operated.

  • In this paper, the performance of upidirectional and hi-directional regenerative erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is compared. The systems are operating above laser oscillation threshold. The experimental results show that the unidirectional regenerative EDFA has a better performance than the hi-directional.

  • This paper represents analysis of field test results of terrestrial DTV on channel repeaters over Taejon city area. Two kind of on channel repeaters were tested. Non-regenerative repeater performs filtering, amplifying and re-transmit received main DTV signal. Regenerative repeater performs demodulation, modulation and amplifying and re-transmit received main DTV signal. The non-regenerative repeater threshold D/U ratio is about 10dB better than regenerative repeater's one.

  • Combustion characteristics of a regenerative combustor for high temperature air combustion have experimentally studied. Temperature measurement on regenerative ceramic material and combustor has been carried out with changing equivalence ratio at constant turn-over period. Stable and unstable combustion region have been found and also detailed averaged temperature profile with respect to various air flow conditions have been obtained.

  • Regenerative power utilization is one of the most interesting issue in electric railway systems. Generally, technologies to utilize regenerative power from railway vehicles are railway substation with regenerative inverter, on-station energy storage systems, and on-board energy storage systems. In this paper, the electric power loss for those technologies is calculated and compared using DC electric railway system analysis algorithm.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the parametric characteristics on regenerative system with oxy-fuel combustion by experiment. Regenerative system with a pair of oxygen burners and regenerators is used for evaluating regenerator characteristics according to design parameters such as ball (regenerator medium) size, regenerator weight, and bypass of exhaust gas. The temperature profiles with time are varied by ball size and regenerator weight. The bypass of exhaust gas shows that the heat recovery ratio increases while the regenerating temperature efficiency slightly decreases.

  • Regenerative braking performance of an electrically powered vehicle is closely related to driving distance per battery charge. An electric vehicle uses appropriate amounts of mechanical braking force and electromagnetic regenerative braking force to recover energy and increase driving efficiency. In particular, when it drives on a downhill road, energy recovery rate is maximized through regenerative braking during coasting based on the mass inertia of the vehicle. Since an electric two-wheeled vehicle covered in this paper is lighter than an electric four-wheeled vehicle, the improvement of its driving distance per battery charge through regenerative braking is different from an electric four-wheeled vehicle. This study compared the driving characteristics of an electric two-wheeled vehicle based on regenerative braking. Two driving test modes were simulated with a chassis dynamometer system. By analyzing the measurement of a chassis dynamometer, the driving characteristics of a two-wheel electric vehicle, such as driving efficiency, were analyzed. In addition, test results were reviewed to draw the limitations of conventional test methods for regenerative braking performance of an electric two-wheel vehicle.

  • Regenerative energy generated by regenerative braking of DC traction can cause the system malfunction or damage to the rectifier, or malfunction of the power conversion device in power supply system by DC Line voltage rise in feeder line. Regenerative energy storage system using super capacitor is one of the ways to stabilize DC line voltage. In this paper, energy storage system of DC traction system using super-capacitor bank is implemented and using the field measurement data of the station N and the station S on the Line 2, the operation characteristics of line voltage caused by regenerative energy of electric trains are verified. Also, charge/discharge characteristics of super capacitor are verified as well. Thus, we can verify the operation characteristics of super-capacitor bank for regenerative energy storage system installed in DC Traction. And if we can use field measurement data of DC line voltage, we have obtained cost reduction. The stabilization of the system will be improved by measuring the operation characteristics of regenerative energy storage system in certain section operated by DC traction and predicting the capacity and lifetime of super-capacitor.

  • Limiting probability in the steady state of regenerative process is one of the most useful characteristics. The formula for this limiting probability in the steady state of the regenerative process is presented in this paper. Because this formula is for the general model, it can be applied to many special systems including 2-unit redundant system. An example for this formula is also presented.
