Redundant System based PLC Network for High Priority Process

  • This paper presents the development of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and network to design the redundant control system in order to control the high priority process. The industrial process that cannot be shutdown or the effect of the shutting down takes abundantly damage. In this article, we say that the high priority process. The redundant systems are designed for controlling the high priority process that the control system must have many controllers to instead the main controller when it has some error. This paper we designed the redundancy control system by the advantage of the high-speed communication on the PLC’s network. The temperature control system and the traffic light control system used as the case study. Each example processes consist of two sets of controller. Our scheme we can increase the reliability prevents process down time and reduces the cost of opportunity to loss also.

Multiple Description Coding using Unequal MDSQ in Wavelet Domain

  • Error resilience for image coding is an important component of multimedia communication system. Error resilience schemes address loss recovery from the compression perspective. Multiple description coding (MDC) is one of the error resilience techniques promising for robust video transmission. It is the way to achieve tradeoff description such as scalar quantization, correlating transform and the quantized frame expansion. In this paper, we consider Multiple Description Scalar Quantization (MDSQ) to wavelet domain. Conventional MDSQ schemes considered description with equal weights in each sub-bands. But, we can see that the each sub-bands is unequal contribution to whole image quality. Therefore, we experiment the multiple design MDSQ table to make probability of zero index high, which gives high efficiency in arithmetic symbol coder. We also compare our proposed method with the conventional methods and show improved performance in terms of redundancy-rate-distortion.

Using DSP Algorithms for CRC in a CAN Controller

  • A controller area network (CAN) controller is an integral part of an electronic control unit, particularly in an advanced driver assistance system application, and its characteristics should always be advantageous in all aspects of functionality especially in real time application. The cost should be low, while maintaining the functionality and reliability of the technology. However, a CAN protocol implementing serial operation results in slow throughput, especially in a cyclical redundancy checking (CRC) unit. In this paper, digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms are implemented, namely pipelining, unfolding, and retiming the CAN controller in the CRC unit, particularly for the encoder and decoder sections. It must attain a feasible iteration bound, a critical path that is appropriate for a CAN system, and must obtain a superior design of a high-speed parallel circuit for the CRC unit in order to have a faster transmission rate. The source code for the encoder and decoder was formulated in the Verilog hardware description language.

  • The intrusions appears continuously by new unknown attacks exploiting vulnerabilities of systems or components but there are no perfect solutions to protect this unknown attacks. To overcome this problem, in this paper, we have proposed and implemented a Web service intrusion tolerant system that provides continuous Web services to the end users transparently even after the occurrence of an attack against the Web services, and prevents the disclosure of system's configuration data from server Our system has an N+l node architecture which is to minimize the number of redundant server nodes and to tolerate the intrusion effectively, and it also supports diversity in its design. Experimental result obtained on an implemented system show that our system can cope with intrusion such as DoS, file modification, confidentiality compromise of system properly.

Efficient Multi-way Tree Search Algorithm for Huffman Decoder

  • Huffman coding which has been used in many data compression algorithms is a popular data compression technique used to reduce statistical redundancy of a signal. It has been proposed that the Huffman algorithm can decode efficiently using characteristics of the Huffman tables and patterns of the Huffman codeword. We propose a new Huffman decoding algorithm which used a multi way tree search and present an efficient hardware implementation method. This algorithm has a small logic area and memory space and is optimized for high speed decoding. The proposed Huffman decoding algorithm can be applied for many multimedia systems such as MPEG audio decoder.

  • COMS Satellite is automatically able to recover from any defined failure thanks to a full redundancy. This study assesses the effects of gyro failure on the COMS mission and analyzes the mechanism of Gyro Failure Detection, Isolation and Recovery about failure detection means, isolation and recovery actions and their consequences. At last, it checks the FDIR behavior from an injected failure on COMS simulator.

  • Consideration for parallel operation in a high power system has been increased due to the advantages of parallel operation like as high productivity, simplicity of design, and redundancy of power. This paper discussed the parallel operation of DC-DC Converter, Which Can be used as a high power system, is studied. Based on the small signal model of DC-DC Converter, the simple and exact power stage model of parallel operation system is derived and the parallel operation system using current balance method for the uniform current distribution among the parallel operation system is discussed. To verify the high performance of the proposed DC-DC converter system for parallel operation, the simulation test of the parallel operation, which has 2 Converter modules, is accomplished.

  • Satellite Operations Subsystem in the Mission Control Element provides real-time monitoring of the satellite status and transmits telecommands to control the satellite during the contact time. This paper presents the dynamic fault management strategy of Satellite Operations Subsystem designed to minimize data loss using software and hardware redundancy for upgrade safety and reliability of Satellite Operations Subsystem. Also this paper describes the performance test method to prove justification of implementation and analyzes the results.

  • The emergency diesel generator (EDG) in a nuclear power plant (NPP) shall start within 10 secondss and supply electrical power to engineered safety features within one minute and less if a loss of offsite power (LOOP), A design-basis event, or their combination occur. Each NPP has an EDG set consisting of two diesel generators for redundancy. In addition to the EDG set, an alternate Alternating Current Diesel Generator (AAC DG) is installed and shared by several units to cope with a station black out (SBO), i.e., loss of the offsite power concurrent with reactor trip and unavailability of the EDG set. The objective of this study is to analyze the failure data of emergency diesel generators reported in overseas nuclear power plants.

  • In this study, the efficient channel coding method combined with CS-ACELP is proposed. The same convolutional coder and Viterbi decoder of COMA mobile communication system is used as channel coder. To make the best available use of limited channel coding redundancy, unequal error protection of punctured convolutional coder is used for variable reate allocation. But, the overall code rate is given by 2. The performance of proposed coder is analyzed and simulated in a Rayleigh fading channel. Experimental results show that the objective and subjective speech quality of variable rate channel coding methods are superior to those of non-variable channel coding method.
