  • Railway has been pointed to the efficiency of transportation, rapid transit, and comfortable train ride. the construction of railway near the downtown area and station building are increasing for maximization of utilization and convenience. but the heavy of transportation and rapid transit lead to increase noise and vibration. the noise and vibration of railway may cause the civil appeal, decline in the serviceability and insufficiency of environmental standard. In this study, floating slab system which is one of the solution to avoid noise and vibration in railway has been introduced, and analyzed floating Slab Track into arrangement of reduction material of vibration. As a result of analysis, It was estimated the bearing installation though slab have not a negative factor and terminal arrangement of reduction material of vibration have advantage for static behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is to reduce the vibration of the computer by developing the vibration absorber and damper. The eccentricity of the cooling fan causes the vibration of the computer. We designed the material properties of the vibration absorber by FEM model within operation frequencies of the cooling fan. We experiment the overall analysis and system analysis. The vibration of cooling fan is measured by using a laser vibrometer. The result shows that the proposed vibration absorber and damper reduce the vibration of the computer.

  • Floor Impact Noise is a structure-borne noise which is mainly caused by vibration of concrete slabs. The majority of previous studies have focused on investigating performance of absorbing sheets on the reduction of floor impact noise. But absorbing sheets do not efficiently reduce heavy-weight floor impact noise level because it cannot absorb slab vibration, which is the fundamental noise source. In this study, double-floor system was developed in order to reduce floor impact noise level in residual buildings. This floor system reduces heavy-weight impact noise level by reducing vibration response at the center of slab, which has maximum amplitude in the 1st vibration mode. In order to identify the performance of the double-floor system, experiments were planned. Primary test parameters are span of double floor, arrangement and types of absorbing sheets.

  • In the underwater veicle self-noise from the propeller reduces the sensor sensitivity. To increase the sensor sensitivity SNORE ring(Self-noise reduction ring) has been used. In this paper to calculate the effectiveness of the SNORE ring and de-coupeler numerical simulation is conducted. Based on the simulation results CRP(Carbon reinforced plastic)and SNORE ring reduced noise and vibration.

  • The overall noise reduction was compared in regard to the vibrational characteristics of floor impact noise in a multi story residential building which has several noise reduction treatments. The vibration through its structural elements such as wall, floor and ceiling and sound emitting were investigated for each insulation treatment. It was found that, in case of heavy-weight impact noise, the vibration energy is emitted mostly from ceiling, but for the light-weight impact noise, most of the energy comes through ceiling and walls.   • This paper deals with the vibration reduction of hull mount system of ship structures brought by ER smart structures. The hull mount is used to isolate the vibration of equipment from the host structures. Utilizing the tunable characteristics of ER fluids, ER inserts are made in the hull mount structure. Different types of ER inserts are proposed and the vibration characteristics are investigated. A hull mount structure is made and the influence of ER inserts are experimentally studied. An extensive modal test is empirically conducted to identify natural frequencies and mode shapes according to the applied electric field and the types of ER insert. The frequency tunable characteristics of ER inserts can be applied to many mounting structures for vibration reduction.

  • This paper presents a case study on blasting vibration reduction in NATM(New Australian Tunnelling Method) tunnel construction carried out under a congested residential area. In NATM tunnel constructions, blasting is an essential process, thus vibration phenomenon is inevitable. Therefore, the vibration reduction was tried to avoid expected complaints from the public living in the area. Test blastings were performed to get the constants for an estimation formula of vibration velocity. Then the influence area was approximated using the estimation formula, and construction methods for the vibration reduction were sought based on the results.

  • A torsional vibration analysis of a multi-stage reduction gear box connected to a gas turbine system is presented. For a free vibration analysis the Modified Hibner Branch Method, so called "Blank Matrix Method", and the .lambda.-Matrix Method are used in the modeling and the eigenvalue solution, respectively. Also, a short circuit forced analysis of the system is performed, utilizing the energy method modeling. It is shown that the results of the free vibration analysis have the same tendency as those of the short circuit analysis. analysis.

  • Gear whine noise of the axle and transmission is getting more important for reduction of vehicle noise, because major noise of vehicle was reduced. Therefore, in this paper, axle noise and vibration is measured, then the modal analysis and running modal analysis is applied for identification of axle gear whine noise. And To reduce axle noise, Various structural modifications are performed by using FEM and BEM techniques.

  • This article proposes a new technique for the reduction of vibration and noise in the geared system by adjusting the distance between gear shafts. The vibration and noise may be produced by the abnormal force applied to the tooth face. And the force may be the cause of ununiform velocity in the driven shaft. If the velocity is obtained to be uniform by adjusting the distance between shafts. the vibration and noise may be reduced to some extent. In order to review, a dynamic analysis model for the gear train used in a mill turret and a test rig are developed. The velocities in the driven shaft are calculated by dynamic simulations for the model and noises in the test rig are measured with varying of the distance between shafts. The comparison of simulation and test data shows that the distance between shafts at the most uniform velocity has the lowest level of noise.
