Modelling of a pH titration process and design of a self-tuning pH controller (pH 적정공정의 모델링 및 자기동조 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper a pH process of a weak acid with a strong base is modeled into a bilinear form, and a self-tuning pH control algorithm which is robust against initial values of solution and disturbances is presented. The control algorithm employs the recursive least square method for the parameter estimation and the generalised minimum variance criterion as the objective function. The computer simulation shows that the tracking of desired pH values is obtained in satisfactory manner regardless of the initial values chosen for the process.

  • We consider an N duplicate-server system, where each server consists of two reconfigurable duplicated units which are subject to breakdowns. This system is studied analytically using generating functions, and also numerically using the matrix-geometric procedure. Using the generating function approach we obtain a recursive expression of the queuelength distribution for N=1. This expression in difficult to generalize to N>1. The numerical method is applicable for any value of N. For any N, we also obtain the condition for stability and the availability of the system.

  • A new algorithm, CBIR (Correlation Based Image Registration) was proposed to improve the resolution of image registration for PSP (Pressure Sensitive Paint). The local displacement vectors were obtained by finding the displacement which maximizes the cross-correlation between two interrogation windows of 'wind-off' and 'wind-on' images. A recursive multigrid processing was employed to increase the non-linear spatial resolutions. The variations of image were precisely measured without identifying the control points.

  • A on-line optimization scheme based on model in a binary distillation process is proposed. A reduced-order model utilized the concept of collocation is used as a process model and the recursive prediction error method is employed to identify the reduced-order model. The concentrations of end products are controlled by nonlinear adaptive predictive control algorithm. The objective function is constructed to find optimum operate condition for saving utility cost. The proposed optimization is scheme is tested through simulation studies in 13-staged water-methanol distillation column.

  • In the WKB analysis, we propose the new forms of the trial eigenfunctions which not only converge at the turning points but also approximate to the conventional WKB solutions away from the turning points. The eigenvalue equation of multiple waveguides with graded index profile are derived by using the proposed WKB analysis and the transfer matrix method. The drived equation sare represented in the recursive form. The results of the eigenvalue equation sare comapred with those of the FDM, one of the well-known computational methods, for a three-waveguide coupler.

  • Multidimensional integrals are expressed in terms of lower dimensional integrals and function evaluations. An iterative process is used where a trapezoidal and three point identities are used as generators for higher dimensional identities. Bounds are obtained utilising the resulting identities. It is demonstrated that earlier Ostrowski type results are obtained as particular instances of the current work.

  • In this paper, a simulation system, which is almost same with the real motor-mechanical control system, is established. The real system is identified by using the data from DSP(TMS320F240). The RLS(Recursive Least Square) algorithm is used for the identification and MATLAB Simulink program is used for simulation. The exact simulation system obtained by using the proposed method is very useful for analysis and design of motor-mechanical control systems.

  • A fault location algorithm that is suitable for parallel transmission line which contains a teed circuit is presented. The method uses only the local end voltage and current signals. Zero sequence currents of other lines are calculated by distribution factors, and distance equations are solved by recursive calculation.

  • 본 논문은 객체의 유사성 비교를 위해 객체의 모양을 표현하는 한 가지 특징인 윤곽선상의 우세 점들을 찾는 재귀적 윤곽선 근사 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이 알고리즘은 같은 모양의 개체에 대하여 그 객체의 무게 중심을 이용하여 항상 일정한 특정 시작점을 찾음으로써 동일한 우세 점들을 재귀적으로 빠른 수행 시간에 찾는다. 또한 이 알고리즘은 열린 곡선, 닫힌 곡선 및 다각형 등 어떤 모양의 평면 도형에도 모두 적용 가능하다. 제안 알고리즘의 평균 시간 복잡도는 O(nlogn)이다.

  • In this paper, a new technique of inertia identification using recursive least square algorithm and full order estimator is proposed. The speed response is sensitive to variation in machine parameters especially the moment of inertia. The effectiveness of the method has been verified by simulations.
