전산유체역학을 이용한 반도체 제조공정의 PM 전용 후드 설계 연구 (Design of local exhaust ventilation for preventive maintenance in semiconductor fabrication industry using CFD)

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to control residual chemicals or by-products generated in chambers during preventive maintenance (PM) in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. We designed local exhaust ventilation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Methods: The air flow characteristics and capture efficiency between rectangular and slot hoods were compared numerically. The software Fluent 18.1 was used to estimate uniform velocity distribution and capture efficiency for contaminants. A metal from group 15 in the periodic table was released at the bottom of the chamber to simulate emissions. Results: The slot hood had a higher capture efficiency than a rectangular hood under the same conditions because the slot hood provided uniform air flow and higher face velocity. Also, there was no rotating swirl in the plenum for slot, that is why slot had better efficiency than rectangular even though they had similar face velocity. With less than 10 slots, the capture efficiencies for contaminants were nearly 95%. The optimum conditions for a hood to achieve high efficiency was 8 to 10 slots and a face velocity over 1 m/s. Conclusions: Well-designed ventilation systems must consider both efficiency and convenience. For this study, a slot hood that had high capture efficiency and no work disturbance was designed. This will contribute to protection of the worker's health in a PM area and other areas as well. Also, this study confirms the possibility of the application CFD in the semiconductor fabrication industry.

Spatial correlation of aerodynamic forces on 5:1 rectangular cylinder in different VIV stages

  • To better understand the vortex-induced vibration (VIV) characteristics of a 5:1 rectangular cylinder, the distribution of aerodynamic force and the non-dimensional power spectral density (PSD) of fluctuating pressure on the side surface were studied in different VIV development stages, and their differences in the stationary state and vibration stages were analyzed. The spanwise and streamwise correlations of surface pressures were studied, and the flow field structure partitions on the side surface were defined based on the streamwise correlation analysis. The results show that the variation tendencies of mean and root mean square (RMS) pressure coefficients are similar in different VIV development stages. The RMS values during amplitude growth are larger than those at peak amplitude, and the smallest RMS values are observed in the stationary state. The spanwise correlation coefficients of aerodynamic lifts increase with increase of the peak amplitude. However, for the lock-in region, the maximum spanwise correlation coefficient for aerodynamic lifts occurs in the VIV rising stage rather than in the peak amplitude stage, probably due to the interaction of vortex shedding force (VSF) and self-excited force (SEF). The streamwise correlation results show that the demarcation point positions between the recirculation region and the main vortex region remain almost constant in different VIV development stages, and the reattachment points gradually move to the tailing edge with increasing amplitude. This study provides a reference to estimate the demarcation point and reattachment point positions through streamwise correlation and phase angle analysis from wind tunnel tests.

  • 본 연구에서는 종횡비 0.1이고 상.하 수평경계면이 단열된 직각밀폐용기내에 서 Pr수가 1보다 큰 물(Pr=6.97, 20.deg. C) 및 실리콘 오일(Pr=1086.42, 20.deg. C)의 양단의 온도차에 의한 자연대류에서 아직 충분히 연구되지 않은 코어형상에 주안점을 두고 실 험적으로 관찰, 조사하였으며 그 결과를 Lee의 이론적인 예측과도 비교, 검토해 보았 다.

Spanwise coherent structure of wind turbulence and induced pressure on rectangular cylinders

  • Studying the spatial distribution in coherent fields such as turbulence and turbulence-induced force is important to model and evaluate turbulence-induced forces and response of structures in the turbulent flows. Turbulence field-based coherence function is commonly used for the spatial distribution characteristic of the turbulence-induced forces in the frequency domain so far. This paper will focus to study spectral coherent structure of the turbulence and induced forces in not only the frequency domain using conventional Fourier transform-based coherence, but also temporo-spectral coherence one in the time-frequency plane thanks to wavelet transform-based coherence for better understanding of the turbulence and force coherences and their spatial distributions. Effects of spanwise separations, bluff body flow, flow conditions and Karman vortex on coherent structures of the turbulence and induced pressure, comparison between turbulence and pressure coherences as well as intermittency of the coherent structure in the time-frequency plane will be investigated here. Some new findings are that not only the force coherence is higher than the turbulence coherence, the coherences of turbulence and forces depend on the spanwise separation as previous studies, but also the coherent structures of turbulence and forces relate to the ongoing turbulence flow and bluff body flow, moreover, intermittency in the time domain and low spectral band is considered as the nature of the coherent structure. Simultaneous measurements of the surface pressure and turbulence have been carried out on some typical rectangular cylinders with slenderness ratios B/D=1 (without and with splitter plate) and B/D=5 under the artificial turbulent flows in the wind tunnel.

수평 직사각 덕트 내 임계점 부근 물의 대류열전달 특성 (Convective Heat Transfer to Water near the Critical Region in Horizontal Rectangular Ducts)

  • 수평 덕트 내 임계점부근의 유체 유동 및 열전달특성은 중력과 함께 임계영역에서의 열역학 및 전달 물성치의 많은 변화와 직접적으로 연관되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 수평 직사각 덕트 내 임계점부근의 물에 대한 대류열전달특성을 전산해석을 통하여 분석하였다. 이를 통해 국부적인 열전달계수와 유속, 온도, 그리고 물성치분포를 포함한 대류열전달특성에 대해 임계점 근접효과와 함께 비교하였다. 벽으로부터의 열전달에 따른 유체 밀도감소로 덕트 내 유동방향으로의 유속증가와 함께 유체가 액체에서 기체 같은 상태로 천이하는 형태의 유동장특성을 보여준다. 덕트의 윗면, 옆면, 그리고 아래면 각각의 국부적인 열전달계수분포에 큰 차이가 있으며 준임계점 온도부근에서 난류전달특성의 향상으로 열전달계수의 최대치에 이르게 된다. Nu 수는 덕트 내 압력과 종횡비에 영향을 받으며 임계압에 가까워질수록 최대 Nu 수는 급격히 증가하게 된다. 이와 함께 기존의 열전달상관식을 통한 결과와 예측된 Nu 수 분포를 비교하였다.

저층건축물의 구조골조 설계용 풍압계수 및 풍하중 평가 약산식의 제안 (A Proposal of the Wind Pressure Coefficient and Simplified Wind Load Estimating Formula for the Design of Structural Frames of the Low-Rise Buildings)

  • 본 연구는 각주형 저층건축물에 작용하는 지점별 풍압을 다점동시측정시스템을 이용하여 건물 폭과 깊이변화에 따른 평균풍압분포 특성에 대한 기초적인 결과를 정리한 것이다. 본 실험에서는 건물의 폭과 깊이를 변화시킨 5개의 각주형 풍압실험모형이 사용되었으며, 풍동실험은 금오공과대학교 소재 토출식 경계층풍동에서 실시하였다. 실험결과는 저층건축물의 건물 폭 및 깊이의 변화에 따른 저층건축물의 평균풍압분포 변화경향을 건축물의 풍상면, 풍측면 및 풍하면 중심으로 특성을 분석하였다. 실험결과를 토대로 저층건축물의 구조골조 설계용 풍하중을 합리적으로 산정하기 위해 필요한 새로운 풍압계수 및 간략한 약산식을 제시하였다.

  • 지반위에 얹혀진 구형평판을 에너지 방법으로 해석하는 방법에 대한 일반적인 전개이다. 본 논문에서는 기본적으로 지표면과 평판사이의 접촉응력을 가정한 다음 Boussinesque의 식을 적분하여 지표면 혹은 평판의 처짐을 구하는 방법을 시도하였다. 임의의 차수를 갖는 다항식과 Chebychev다항식으로 접촉응력을 가정할 때 Boussinesque의 식을 적분하는 방법을 서술하고 그 결과를 에너지법에 이용하는 과정을 설명하였다. 해석결과 임의차수를 갖는 다항식을 접촉응력 함수로 적당하지 않고, Chebychev다항식이 합당한 것으로 나타났으나 평판 Boundary의 Stress Singularity를 고려한 함수를 선택하면 훨씬 효과적일 것으로 판단되었다.

  • The paper is concerned with an improved scheme for application of the blank holding force in order to take account of the thickness distribution in the sheet material of the flange region. The scheme incorporates with a modified membrane finite element method for planar anisotropic materials. The new scheme proposed two coefficients α and βto calculate the compressive stress in the sheet metal due to the blank holding force, which should be determined properly for accurate analysis. The effect of αand βon the blank holding force distribution and the deformed shape is investigated with simulation of rectangular cup deep drawing processes by changing parameter values.

  • The electromagnetic field distribution within rectangular coaxial transmission lines (RCTL:TEM cells) is calculated using a numerical method. Boundary integral equations(BIE) considering equivalence theorem and extended boundary condition(EBC) in tapered region are used, thereby restricting the operational frequencies (0~130 MHz) below the cell cutoff frequency(130 MHz). The EM fields within NIST TEM cell ($1\times0.6\times2m$) are calculated by this method. The results of the numerical calcuation have a good agreement in the cross-sectional EM field distribution of TEM cell with 2-dimensional analysis results. Based on this method, the first cutoff freque- ncy in high order modes in the cell and the electric field polarization are considered.

이상적 변형이론을 이용한 박판 초기형상 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Intial Blank Design Using Ideal Forming Theory)

  • A new blank design method is introduced to predict the blank shape and the strain distribution in the sheet metal forming process. This method deals with only one step from the final shape to the initial blank using the ideal forming theory. Based on this theory, a three-dimensional membrane finite element code has been developed to design an initial blank in the sheet metal forming process. In this paper, the designs of initial blanks for forming a cylindrical cup, a rectangular cup, and a front fender are presented as examples. Also, it compares the two shapes, the target shape with the shape which is deformed from the initial blank using the FEM analysis code. The results illustrate the information that this direct design code is useful in the preliminary design state.
