Purpose: This research aimed to suggest retailing companies some ways to enhance customer satisfaction with service recovery and recommendation intention towards these companies. For this purpose, current study examined the relationships among service recovery justice, service failure severity, customer trust, recovery satisfaction and intention to recommend and the moderating role of ego-resilience. Research design, data and methodology: Current study developed a structural equation model in which perceived service recovery justice is a predictor, service failure severity, customer trust, recovery satisfaction are mediators, intention to recommend is a dependent variable and the ego-resilience is a moderator between the perceived service recovery justice and the customer trust and the recovery satisfaction. Data were collected from customers who experienced service failures from retailers. A total of 400 questionnaires were collected and 365 samples were used for analysis after deleting data having missing value. SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 24.0 were used to test the validity, reliability, and structural equation modeling. Results: Empirical results showed that the perceived service recovery justice had a negative influence on the perceived service failure severity and a positive influence on the customer trust and the recovery satisfaction. These results indicate that when customers perceive the service recovery justice more highly, they perceive the service failure less severe but they perceive the retailer more trustworthy and are satisfied with service recovery. In addition, the customer trust and the recovery satisfaction had a positive influence on the intention to recommend. These results indicate that when customers perceive the retailer more trustworthy and are satisfied with service recovery, they are more intend to recommend the retailer. Moreover, the influence of the perceived service recovery justice on the customer trust and the recovery satisfaction was moderated by the ego-resilience. Conclusions: This study contributed to the service recovery literature by proving the relationship among service recovery justice, service failure severity, customer trust, recovery satisfaction and intention to recommend. Moreover, current research introduced the ego-resilience into service recovery research area and revealed the moderation role of the ego-resilience. Managerially, this research suggested retailing companies some ways to effectively recover from service failure.

Climate change is significantly affecting coastal areas, and its impacts are expected to intensify. Recent studies on climate change adaptation and risk assessment in coastal regions increasingly integrate the concepts of recovery resilience and vulnerability. The aim of this study is to develop a measurement model for coastal hazard recovery resilience in the context of climate change adaptation. Before constructing the measurement model, a comprehensive literature review was conducted on coastal hazard recovery resilience, establishing a conceptual framework that included operational definitions for vulnerability and recovery resilience, along with several feedback mechanisms. The measurement model for coastal hazard recovery resilience comprised four metrics (MRV, LRV, RTSPV, and ND) and a Coastal Resilience Index (CRI). The developed indices were applied to domestic coastal erosion cases, and regional analyses were performed based on the index grades. The results revealed that the four recovery resilience metrics provided insights into the diverse characteristics of coastal erosion recovery resilience at each location. Mapping the composite indices of coastal resilience indicated that the areas along the East Sea exhibited relatively lower coastal erosion recovery resilience than the West and South Sea regions. The developed recovery resilience measurement model can serve as a tool for discussions on post-adaptation strategies and is applicable for determining policy priorities among different vulnerable regional groups.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting container terminal worker's recovery experience from job stress. Methods: The subjects were 299 workers from one S dock in P city. Data were collected from April 5 to June 5, 2015 and analyzed by SPSS/WIN 18.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Sheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and logistic regression. Results: The mean scores of job stress, ego-resilience, and recovery experience from job stress were 47.18, 46.90, and 49.17 respectively. Recovery experience according to the general characteristics showed significant correlation between daily exercise. There was a significant negative correlation between recovery experience and job stress, and a positive correlation between recovery experience and ego-resilience. Recovery experience was 2.54 times higher for a high ego-resilience group than for a low ego-resilience group, and the group that exercised was 2.25 times higher, than the non-exercising group. The group with a low level of interpersonal conflict was 1.97 times higher, than a group with a high level of interpersonal conflict. Conclusion: Based on this study, intervention programs to increase ego-resilience, decrease interpersonal conflict, and encourage over 30-minute-daily exercise for in container terminal workers should be developed to improve recovery experience of job stress.
Critical infrastructure resilience has been integrated in critical infrastructure protection in US after Department of Homeland Security recognized that protection, in isolation, is a brittle strategy. Here "resilience" is the system's ability to efficiently reduce both the magnitude and the duration of systemic impacts after hazards, and quantitatively assessed as a resilience cost. The resilience cost is the sum of systemic impacts and recovery efforts, and many case studies on resilience costs show that the recovery effort should be included in resilience assessment. This paper explains how the resilience cost is defined and quantified with a case study.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting a hypothetical model of testing for general hospital nurses' job embeddedness. Methods: Data were collected from August 20 to September 19, 2021, by a self-administered questionnaire answered by 428 general hospital nurses. The data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS. Results: Nine of the hypothetical model's 12 hypotheses were supported by the data collected from all participants. The test results indicate that ego resilience, subjective career success, and recovery experience from job stress directly affect participants' job embeddedness. Nurses' work environments were reported to affect ego resilience and subjective career success, while at the same time ego resilience and subjective career success affected the participants' job embeddedness. Work-life balance was found to affect ego resilience and ego resilience affected subjective career success, and at the same time subjective career success directly affected participants' recovery experiences from job stress and job embeddedness. Of these variables, subjective career success had the strongest direct effect on participants' job embeddedness. Work-life balance affected the participants' recovery experiences from job stress, and their recovery experiences from job stress were found to directly affect job embeddedness. Conclusion: These results suggest that different management strategies to enhance hospital nurses' job embeddedness should address nurses' ego resilience, subjective career success, and recovery experiences from job stress.
This study investigates the resilient structural characteristics of a region by assessing the impact of the financial crisis. Utilizing panel data at the prefecture level for metropolitan cities across pre-shock (2006-2008), shock (2009), and post-shock (2010-2019) periods, we calculated an employment resilience index by combining the resistance and recovery indices. The panel logit regression measures the influences of the region's industrial structure and external economic factors in response to the global financial crisis. The results revealed that the diversity index of industries contributed to the post-shock recovery bounce-back. Additionally, the presence of large firms and industrial clusters within the region positively contributed to economic resilience. The specialization and the proportion of manufacturing industries showed negative effects, suggesting that regions overly reliant on manufacturing-centered specialization might be vulnerable to external shocks. Furthermore, excessive capital outflows for market expansion were found to have a detrimental impact on regional economic recovery.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the meditation effects of self-esteem on the relationship model between Korean new elderly class's recovery resilience and productive aging. This study sampled preliminary elderly people in other provinces nationwide. Data from a total of effective 484 subjects was analyzed. The collected data was processed using the IBM SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 5.0, and underwent descriptive statistical analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structure model verification. The results are as follows; First, recovery resilience of Korean new elderly class's affect their self-esteem. Second, recovery resilience of Korean new elderly class's affect their productive aging. Third, self-esteem of Korean new elderly class's affect their productive aging. Lastly thel relationship among recovery resilience, self-esteem and productive aging of Korean new elderly class's shows partial mediation, and there is the mediation effect.

The purpose of this study was to identify correlation among social support, recovery resilience, and self-care behavior among the elderly with hypertension, as well as to clarify factors that affect self-care behavior. This was a descriptive study conducted with 183 hypertensive seniors over age 65 from three different senior welfare centers in C region. Data of this study were collected from Aug 20-31, 2018. T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for analysis. As a result, the mean score of social support was $3.79{\pm}0.78$ out of 5, recovery resilience was $4.10{\pm}0.71$ out of 5, and self-care behavior was $3.93{\pm}0.51$ out of 5. Self-care behavior had a statistically significant positive correlation with social support(r=.204, p<.001) and recovery resilience(r=.405, p<.001). Factors influencing Self-care behavior were recovery resilience(${\beta}=.36$, p<.001) and regularity of exercise(${\beta}=.17$, p=.019). These factors explained 18.9% of self-care behavior(F=21.02, p<.001). The study results indicate that recovery resilience and regularity of exercise are critical factors affecting self-care behavior among the elderly with of hypertension. Therefore, to promote self-care behavior among the hypertensive seniors, regular exercise must be advised and the development and evaluation of nursing interventions that can improve recovery resilience may be necessary.
The concept of resilience seems applicable for sustainable groundwater management. The resilience is broadly defined as the ability of a system to resist changes by external forces (EFs), and has been used for disaster management and climate change adaptation, including the groundwater resilience to climate change in countries where groundwater is a major water resource, whereas not yet in the geological society of South Korea. The resilience is qualitatively assessed using the absorptive, adaptive, and restorative capacity representing the internal robustness, self-organization, and external recovery resources, respectively, while quantitatively using the system impact (SI) and recovery effort (RE). When the groundwater is considered a complicated system where physicochemical, biological, and geological components interact, the groundwater resilience can be defined as the ability of groundwater to maintain the targeted quality and quantity at any EFs. For the quantitative assessment, however, the resilience should be specified to an EF and measurable parameters should be available for SI and RE. This study focused on groundwater resilience to two EFs in urban areas, i.e., pollution due to land use change and groundwater withdrawal for underground structures. The resilience to each EF was assessed using qualitative components, while measurements for SI and RE were discussed.

This study was designed to investigate the impact of stress coping ability and recovery resilience on nurses' retention intent in medium-sized hospitals. For this descriptive study, a survey was conducted with 265 nurses from 5 medium-sized hospitals with over 150 sickbeds located in G and I province; the data were collected from May 19 to May 25, 2018. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. The average score was $2.55{\pm}0.25$ for stress coping ability, $3.47{\pm}0.49$ for recovery resilience, and $2.59{\pm}0.29$ for retention intent. Retention intent was positively correlated with stress coping ability (r=0.285, p<0.01) and recovery resilience (r=0.457, p<0.01). The factors affecting retention intent were gender (${\beta}=0.117$, p=0.027), job satisfaction (${\beta}=0.345$, p<0.001), stress coping ability (${\beta}=0.142$, p=0.008), and recovery resilience (${\beta}=0.238$, p<0.001). Furthermore, the model explained 37.8% of the retention intent (F=11.686, p<0.001). In conclusion, effective strategies for improving job satisfaction, stress coping ability, and recovery resilience for nurses need to be developed and investigated.
