  • Bayesian inference for a record value statistics(RVS) model of nonhomogeneous Poisson process is considered. We seal with Bayesian inference for double exponential, Gamma, Rayleigh, Gumble RVS models using Gibbs sampling and Metropolis algorithm and also explore Bayesian computation and model selection.

  • The purpose of this study is to survey the problems of the record appraisal system based on value of "Business Transaction (Danwi-gwaje)" and suggest a way to solve the problems in Korean government agencies. This study begins with analyzing the many negative cases of creating wrong "Business Transaction" profiles and making discordances between value of records and value of transaction, through data mainly from focused group interviews of six record professionals in central government agencies. It concludes with suggesting a new records appraisal model that assigns the retention periods to multiple entities to solve the problems of the current record appraisal system.

  • Cultural property means the remains of cultural activities of a race as recognized with significant cultural value that would have significant historic and/or artistic value. This type of cultural property would not be restored once damaged that its preservation and succession would be immensely important. In particular, the intangible cultural property is the 'cultural property without certain shape' that appropriate conservation and facilitation suitable to its characteristics have to be materialized. For this purpose, this study has taken a look of the record status for 16 cities and provinces with the designated intangible cultural properties and presented with the efficient record plan for desirable conservation and succession.

  • Let { $X_{n}$ , n $\geq$ 1} be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables with a common continuous distribution function F(x) and probability density function f(x). Let $Y_{n}$ = max{ $X_1$, $X_2$, …, $X_{n}$ } for n $\geq$ 1. We say $X_{j}$ is an upper record value of { $X_{n}$ , n$\geq$1} if $Y_{j}$ > $Y_{j-1}$, j > 1. The indices at which the upper record values occur are given by the record times {u(n)}, n$\geq$1, where u(n) = min{j|j>u(n-1), $X_{j}$ > $X_{u}$ (n-1), n$\geq$2} and u(1) = 1. We call the random variable X $\in$ Beta (1, c) if the corresponding probability cumulative function F(x) of x is of the form F(x) = 1-(1-x)$^{c}$ , c>0, 0$\leq$x$\leq$1. In this paper, we will give a characterization of the beta distribution of the first kind by considering conditional expectations of record values.s.

  • In this paper we establish some recurrence relations satisfied by quotient moments of upper record values from the exponential distribution. Let $\{X_n,\;n{\geq}1\}$ be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables with a common continuous distribution function F(x) and probability density function(pdf) f(x). Let $Y_n=max\{X_1,\;X_2,\;{\cdots},\;X_n\}$ for $n{\geq}1$. We say $X_j$ is an upper record value of $\{X_n,\;n{\geq}1\}$, if $Y_j>Y_{j-1}$, j > 1. The indices at which the upper record values occur are given by the record times {u(n)}, $n{\geq}1$, where u(n)=min\{j{\mid}j>u(n-1),\;X_j>X_{u(n-1)},\;n{\geq}2\} and u(1) = 1. Suppose $X{\in}Exp(1)$. Then $\Large{E\;\left.{\frac{X^r_{u(m)}}{X^{s+1}_{u(n)}}}\right)=\frac{1}{s}E\;\left.{\frac{X^r_{u(m)}}{X^s_{u(n-1)}}}\right)-\frac{1}{s}E\;\left.{\frac{X^r_{u(m)}}{X^s_{u(n)}}}\right)}$ and $\Large{E\;\left.{\frac{X^{r+1}_{u(m)}}{X^s_{u(n)}}}\right)=\frac{1}{(r+2)}E\;\left.{\frac{X^{r+2}_{u(m)}}{X^s_{u(n-1)}}}\right)-\frac{1}{(r+2)}E\;\left.{\frac{X^{r+2}_{u(m-1)}}{X^s_{u(n-1)}}}\right)}$.

  • This paper presents characterizations on the independence of the exponential and Pareto distributions by record values. Let ${X_{n},\;n {\ge1}$ be a sequence of independent and identically distributed(i.i.d) random variables with a continuous cumulative distribution function(cdf) F(x) and probability density function(pdf) f(x). $Let{\;}Y_{n} = max{X_1, X_2, \ldots, X_n}$ for n \ge 1. We say $X_{j}$ is an upper record value of ${X_{n},{\;}n\ge 1}, if Y_{j} > Y_{j-1}, j > 1$. The indices at which the upper record values occur are given by the record times {u(n)}, n \ge 1, where u(n) = $min{j|j > u(n-1), X_{j} > X_{u(n-1)}, n \ge 2}$ and u(l) = 1. Then F(x) = $1 - e^{-\frac{x}{a}}$, x > 0, ${\sigma} > 0$ if and only if $\frac {X_u(_n)}{X_u(_{n+1})} and X_u(_{n+1}), n \ge 1$, are independent. Also F(x) = $1 - x^{-\theta}, x > 1, {\theta} > 0$ if and only if $\frac {X_u(_{n+1})}{X_u(_n)}{\;}and{\;} X_{u(n)},{\;} n {\ge} 1$, are independent.

  • Primary function of health record is that as tool of communication between the health processionals with the mutual goal, the promotion of health care standard. Studies have been carried out world over oil tile subject, among those, Weed's Problem-Oriented Health Record is considered a paramount achievement. This study was designed to assess tile possibility of implementing tile problem-oriented health record system through ail experiment in order to provide data for nurse administrators infiltrating reformation of recording system and format. Record of 29 patients admitted at Korea University Hospital, Seoul, from March through June, 1976 for 4 to 14 days were sampled. Nursing notes were recorded by research assistants; senior nursing student trailed extensively by the researcher oil Problem-Oriented Records, oil Problem Oriented Nursing Record format (experimental group) and analysis were carried out comparative, with that of traditional nursing records noted by other nursing personnel (control group) on the same patient. Attitude towards Problem Oriented Nursing Record system and format were attained through questionaries responded by the 51 research assistants. Results are as fellows: Comparative analysis revealed that: 1. Assessment of patients' health problems recorded significantly more in traditional records. 2. Focus of health Problem differed; traditional records slowed significantly higher frequency in medical and procedure as focus while problem oriented records on nursing focus problems. 3. Problem- Oriented records were better organized, Mean value scores of attitude towards Problem- Oriented Records revealed that: Positive value scores on all 4 categories: 1) Assessment of nursing needs, 2) Nursing care planning 3) Patient progress assessment and 4) Tool of teaching and learning revealed that the Problem-Oriented Nursing Record is positively accepted by tile respondents. Recommendation Further experiments on implementation of Problem- Oriented Health Record are recommended: experiment involving all health professionals, in larger scope and longitudinal.

  • Generalized Pareto distributions play an important role in re-liability, extreme value theory, and other branches of applied probability and statistics. This family of distribution includes exponential distribution, Pareto distribution, and Power distribution. In this paper we establish some recurrences relations satisfied by the quotient moments of the upper record values from the generalized Pareto distribution. Further a char-acterization of this distribution based on recurrence relations of quotient moments of record values is presented.
