수학적 모델을 활용한 alternating 형태 공정과 recirculating 형태 공정의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation between Alternating Type Process and Recirculating Type Process by using a Mathematical Model)

  • In this research, the performance evaluation between an alternating type process and a recirculating type process was investigated by using mathematical models. The Advanced Phase Isolation Ditch (APID) process and the $A^2/O$ process were selected the target processes of the alternating type and recirculating type, respectively. For more quantitative evaluation, 5 performance indexes which included economy and energy efficiency as well as effluent quality were used, and various disturbance conditions of influent were given to the process models. As simulation results, the APID process which had the specific operation modes to use the organic matter in influent effectively showed higher efficiency of denitrification than the $A^2/O$ process. In the case of effluent TSS, the $A^2/O$ process that the retention time in reactors could be maintained stably was more effective than the APID process. In the cases of various disturbance condition, although it was identified that both two processes had similar effluent quality, the sludge production of the $A^2/O$ process showed lower than that of the APID process while the APID process showed higher energy efficiency.

유연성 섬유사 여과기를 이용한 순환여과식 양식장의 부유고형물 제거 (Removal of Suspended Solids Using a Flexible Fiber Filter in a Recirculating Aquaculture System)

  • The suitability of a flexible fiber filter for removing suspended solid (SS) in a recirculating aquaculture system was evaluated. This study focused on variation in the performance with a change in filtering time, influent water quality, and filtering mode duration. The particle distribution diagram of the filter effluent showed that the number of particles bigger than $5-8{\mu}m$ decreased dramatically, and the removal efficiency exceeded 80%. Although the removal efficiencies of SS and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were dependent on the quality of the influent, the SS and COD concentrations of the effluent were not affected by the influent concentrations. This was despite the deterioration if water quality after feeding in the rearing tank. The performance of the filter was not affected by the filtering mode duration, feeding conditions, or filtering time. The SS concentration and turbidity of the recirculating-type rearing tank were 30% and 50% lower, respectively, than of the a non-recirculating-type rearing tank under the same operating conditions. The flexible fiber filter was applicable to a recirculating aquaculture system that uses plenty of seawater, based on its low filtering resistance $(2kg_f/cm^2)$, high flux $(330m^3/m^2/hr)$, and high fine particle removal efficiency (80%, $5-8{\mu}m$).

양식계 오염원 배출량 산정을 위한 원단위 설정 (Evaluation of Pollutant Load Unit Factor for Calculating Pollutants Emission in Aquacultural Farms)

  • This research was conducted to investigate pollutant load unit factor from aquacultural farms. Pollutant load unit factors were investigated on the 13 kinds of fish type, i.e., Trout, Leather Carp, Eel, Carp, Cartfish, Freshwater Eel, Crucian Carp, Colored Carp, Sturgeon, Marsh Snail, Sweetfish, Pond Snail, Eriocheir Sinensis. Water qualities in aquacultural farms were investigated wide range of values by fish type and pollutant items. High BOD and COD values were observed at the Leather Carp (Ponded water system), Cartfish (Ponded water system) and Freshwater Eel (Recirculating System). TOC and DOC values were relatively high at the Freshwater Eel (Recirculating System) and Eriocheir Sinensis (Extensive). Eel (Ponded water system) and Freshwater Eel (Recirculating System) produced high concentrated nutrient pollutants, i.e., T-N, T-P. Pollutant load unit factors are dependent on fish type, aquacultural type, water quality items, etc. If some fishes have similar basic unit values, those could be applied for TMDLs as a group of fish having same pollutant load unit. The water quality concentrations of post treatment facilities' (mainly reservoir tank) effluent were higher than those of fish raising bath because of extracting pollutant from sediment in the reservoir tank. Therefore, it needs to the management and regulations about post treatment facilities.

순환 여과식 양식 시스템의 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of Integrated Recirculating Aquaculture System)

  • 우리나라의 실정에 적합하고 실용적인 순환 여과식 양식 시스템을 개발하여 package 형태로 개발하기 위하여 $2.5 m^3$ 규모의double drain 형태의 사육조와 침강성 고형물질을 제거하기 위한 침전조, 부유성 고형물의 제거를 위한 floating bead filter, 용존고 형물을 제거하기 위한 포말 분리기와 암모니아성 질소를 제거하기 위한 회전 원판 반응기를 조합한 순환 여과식 양식 시스템을 설계하고 제작하였다. 본 시스템에 평균 어체중 392.8g의 나일 틸라피아 173마리를 수용하여 일간 보충수를 사육조 용적의 $10\%$를 사용하여 14일간 어류사육을 실시한 걸과 사육조의 수질을 보충수와 거의 동일한 수질로 유지할 수 있었으며 사료계수 1.4, 일간 성장률 0.64를 얻을 수 있었다.

THE OSEEN-TYPE EXPANSION OF NAVIER-STOKER FLOWS WITH AN APPLICATION TO SWIMMING VELOCITY

  • A linearization owing to Oseen originally is performed to study the recirculating Navier-Stokes flows at high Reynolds numbers. The procedure is generalized to produce higher order asymptotic expansion for the flow velocity. We call this the Oseen-type expansion of the given flow. As a concrete example, the velocity of a steady Navier-Stockes flow due to a swimming flexible sheet in two-dimensional infinite strip domain is calculated by an asymptotic expansion technic with two-parameters, the Reynolds number R and the perturbation parameter $\varepsilon$ first and then R secondly. The asymptotic result is up to second order in $\varepsilon$.

  • The recirculating flows which occur in the prosthetic heart valve have been known to cause several diseases in the human body. And the recent studies show that the shear stress at the wall of the artery is also very important factor in the formation of thrombus. And many studies knave been devoted in obtaining more information about the blood flow through the prosthetic heart valve. In this Paper, the steady axisymmetric flow through the Disc-Type Heart Valve is studied by using the numerical method. The geometry of the Disc-Type Heart Valve is simplified, and the flow is assumed to be steady axisymmetric flow. The vorticity transport equation derived from the Wavier-Stoke's equation is used as the governing equation, and the explicit finite difference method is used to obtain the steady state solution. The results for several Reynolds numbers show that the recirculating flow becomes large as the Remolds number increases. Furthermore, it can be shown that the magnitudes of the vorticity and the stresses are also increased with the Reynolds number, but there is only a little change in their configurations of distribution and in their positions of maximum values.

  • We developed a general purpose program for the analysis of flows in a gas turbine combustor. The program uses non-staggered grids based on finite volume method and the cartesian velocities as primitive variables. We calculated a flow inside the C-type diffuser to check the boundary fitted coordinate. The velocity profiles at cross section agree well with experimental results. We calculated turbulent diffusion flame behind a bluff body for the combustion simulation. Simulation shows two recirculating region like experimental results. Simulated velocity, turbulent kinetic energy, temperature and concentration distribution agree well with experimental data. Finally, simulation of axisymmetric flows with swirl shows two recirculating region like experimental results.

The distance between two recirculating regions becomes shorter as swirl angle increases. Swirl angle changes angular momentum and streamlines in flow fields.

  • 본 연구에서는 Westinghouse Model 51 증기발생기의 U-bend 영역에서 2차측 유체의 횡단유동으로 유발될 수 있는 튜브군의 유체탄성불안정을 예측하기 위한 해석 을 수행하고 그 대표적인 결과들을 제시하였다. 그리고 U-bend 영역에서 AVB에 의한 튜브의 지지상태와 형태 및 최상부 TSP에서 Denting 또는 이물질 고착으로 인하여 변 경된 튜브의 고정지지조건 등이 튜브의 유체탄성불안정 응답에 미치는 영향을 조사하 였다. 유체탄성불안정 해석과정에서 필수적으로 선행되어야 하는 2차측 3차원 2상 유동장 계산은 증기발생기 열수력 해석용인 ATHOS3 코드로써 수행되었으며, U-튜브의 고유진동수와 모우드 형상은 공학해석용 유한요소 프로그램인 ANSYS코드로써 계산되었 다.

Thermal Effluent through Extruded Side Channel

  • The reattachment of buoyant efflluent to a shore in a crossflow is investigated experimentally. The effluent is prodeced by discharging heated water through a projected side channel into a confined crossflow of the same depth. In the projecting effluent, the size of recirculating region, which is formed by deflected thermal plume on the lee of the effluent, tends to increase, but the maximum temperature decreases in the direction of the crossflow and it has more uniform transverse spreading compared to non-projected type. The heat flux across the crossflow is found to be independent of the projceted length of the side channel under relatively high buoyancy flux on the contrary to low buoyancy flux. The reattachment of th effluent can be specified by both velocity ratio and densimetric Froude number, whereas only the velocity ratio is governing factor to the reattachment of the effluent in the case of non-projecting type.
