The purpose of this study was to investigate the reading habits, reading patterns and reading motivation of 362 college students from the capital area majoring in child development or early childhood education. The main findings of this study were as follows. Firstly, 70 percent of students spent less than three hours a week on reading academic or school-related material, and 75 percent spent less than three hours a week on independent or recreational reading. Students most preferred reading the "cultural" genre and least preferred reading the "human life(spiritual)" genre. The "cultural" and the "human life(spiritual)" genres also represented the most and least frequently read genres, respectively. Secondly, students presented high-level reading patterns, in that they previewed the reading material before reading, understood the meaning of it during reading, and shared their reading experience with others after reading. Thirdly, the average reading motivation levels scored near the midpoint on a five-point scale. Fourthly, students with higher reading motivation levels displayed higher reading frequencies and preference levels for each genre, with the exception of the "fiction and humor" genre. Moreover, students with higher levels of reading motivation received higher ratings for their reading patterns.

The childhood reading and physical environments are an important factor for shaping personality and values established. Therefore, We have to provide a quality environment for correct reading habits to children. the purpose of this study is to provide a basic interior data through the analysis of case study. for this purpose this study has analyzed of 5 children's reading room of public libraries built in Seoul since 2000. especially the research which it analyzed these reading room of forms of space, furniture, color, finish material, lighting. the results of this study are follows : Chairs and desks were not considered of children's scale or uniformly made. compositions of convenient facilities has insufficient component. finish material and lighting plan is similar to adults reading room plan. To give correct reading habits and interest to children, considered space design is necessary.

독서후의 활동으로 독서토론을 실시하는 효율적인 방법을 터득하도록 하기 위해 독서토론 도서를 <분석식 독서법>으로 읽으면서 토론 자료를 준비하도록 하여, 진행된 독서토론에 대한 결과를 스스로 평가하는 방법으로 독서토론을 진행한 결과 <분석식 독서법>으로 토론도서를 읽지 않고 독서토론을 진행할 때 보다 토론도서에 대해 줄거리와 내용을 잘 파악하고, 전체적인 주제 파악과 토론할 주제를 적절하게 선정하여 토론에 참여한 결과가 나타났다. 그러나 독서토론을 진행하면서 자신들의 의견을 전달하는데는 전체적으로 충분하지 못한 것으로 나타났지만 활용한 당시는 아주 높게 나타났다.

이 연구는 미국과 일본의 독서과학의 학문적 체계와 우리나라 대학의 학부와 대학원의 독서학과와 독서교육전공의 교육과정을 살펴보고, 이를 기초로 독서과학의 학문적 체계에 대한 원칙을 수립하여 독서과학의 학문적 체계를 제안한 것이다. 미국의 독서과학 연구영역은 독서사회학, 독서생리학, 독서심리학, 독서교육학의 4가지로 구분하고 있다. 일본의 독서과학 연구는 미국의 영향을 받아 독서과학의 연구영역을 독서사회학, 독서생리학, 독서심리학, 독서교육학으로 구분하고 있다. 그러나 실복무(室伏武)는 독서과학 교육과정을 기초분야, 독서자료분야, 독서교육의 방법분야, 독서교육 관리분야, 독서과학 인접학문 분야로 구분하고 있다. 우리나라 대학에 개설되어 있는 독서과학 교육과정을 비교하고 분석한 결과 독서과학의 영역은 독서사회학, 독서심리학, 독서교육방법학, 독서자료학, 독서와 관련된 인접과학의 5가지로 구성되어 있다. 이상의 내용을 기초로 새로운 독서과학의 학문적 체계를 제시해 보면 독서과학의 기초, 독자 영역, 독서자료 영역, 독서지도자의 교육 영역, 독서과학의 인접학문으로 구분할 수 있다.

독서후의 독서활동을 활성화하기 위하여 초등학교 5학년부터 중학교2학년까지 4개 학년을 대상으로 과제도서를 각 학년별로 한 권씩 선정하여 읽히면서 독서활동을 전개하였다. 독서활동은 4박5일 동안 독서캠프 활동을 할 때 과제도서에 대한 분석식 독서자료를 작성 제공하여 활용하는 독서활동 프로그램을 적용하였다. 독서감상문 쓰기, 독서발표, 독서토론, 독서감상 만화 그리기 4분야 영역의 결과는 독서감상문 쓰기가 가장 도움이 컸다는 결과가 나타났으며, 다음으로 독서토론 활동 분야가 높았다. 그리고 독서발표 분야에서 좋은 반응을 얻었으나, 독서감상 만화 그리기 분야는 크게 도움이 되지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

In this study, we investigated elementary school teachers' and students' perceptions of the reading materials in science textbooks. Participants were 181 teachers from 23 elementary schools who were teaching science and 643 third- to sixth-grade students from 12 elementary schools. A questionnaire for teachers consisted of 18 items and a questionnaire for students consisted of 11 items about their perceptions of the reading materials in science textbooks. Nine to twelve items, according to grades, examining the actual uses of each reading material in science textbooks were also included to both questionnaires. The results indicated that teachers have positive perceptions about reading materials and frequently use them in case of needs for supplement and/or enrichment of science learning. Novice teachers were found to have less positive perceptions about reading materials than expert teachers. Over 70 percent of students responded that they read all reading materials. Fifth- and sixth-grade students were tended to have less positive perceptions about reading materials than third-grade students. Finally, students tended to have more positive perceptions about reading materials than their teachers.

본 연구는 독서자료의 접근점을 확장하기 위해, 도서이용 속성에 기반한 독서자료 분류체계를 고안하였다. 독서상황에서 도서 이용자가 고려할 수 있는 도서의 속성을 내용분석하여 주제명에 반영하고, 네트워크 분석을 통해 주제명 항목과 인접한 항목들을 연관 주제명으로 그룹화하여 함께 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 독서자료분류표(RMC)는 도서관 OPAC을 비롯한 독서정보 시스템 내에서 도서 이용자의 탐색을 돕는 다양한 접근점을 제공하는 도구로써 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

인성교육에 있어서 독서의 중요성과 가치에 대해서는 많은 연구에서 강조하고 있으나 정작 독서를 통한 인성교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 도구 혹은 프레임워크는 전무한 실정이다. 독서를 통한 인성교육 프로그램을 개발하기 위해서는 독서교육의 관점과 인성교육의 관점을 함께 고려한 프레임워크의 개발이 선행되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 독서교육을 담당하는 사서교사가 독서를 통한 인성교육 프로그램을 개발하고자 할 때 참고할 수 있는 프레임워크를 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 독서 및 인성과 관련된 핵심 변인으로서 인성 덕목, 인성교육에 적합한 독서자료, 독서전략, 수업 방법으로 구분하여 교육 프로그램을 개발할 때 고려해야 할 요소를 분석한 후에 이를 바탕으로 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 프레임워크는 분석 내용과 동일하게 프로그램을 통해 개발하고자 하는 인성 덕목, 인성교육에 적합한 독서자료, 인성교육을 위한 독서전략, 인성교육에 적합한 수업방법으로 구성하였다.

만화에 대한 사회적 인식의 변화와 함께 만화가 아동은 물론 청소년과 성인의 읽기 자료로서 영역을 확장하고 있다. 이에 만화의 특성이 독서텍스트로서 어떠한 효용 가치를 가지고 있는지에 대한 학문적인 연구가 필요하다. 본고는 만화의 특성을 더 선명하게 부각시키기 위해 활발하게 진행되고 있는 만화자료의 매체변용 양상을 분석하였고, 만화의 특성을 정리하여 독서 자료로서 가지는 효용에 대해 기술하고 있다. 독서 텍스트로서 만화가 가지고 있는 효용을 크게 둘로 나누어 보면 첫째, 몰입과 이완의 효과 둘째, 전체적 조망과 속도감으로 정리할 수 있다. 이런 만화의 효용성은 만화를 재미있는 독서 자료로 만들어준다.

Through this study, I developed a new-styled desk for public reading in library in consideration of the characteristics of the company "KIFURS Co., Ltd." established and branded by a part of the members of the association 'Gyeonggi-Incheon Furniture Industry Cooperative', in the background of growing library-furniture market situation according to the government policy and the related participations of competitive companies. The differentially designed product was herein presented by introducing the function of office furniture and related material, by giving the existing product some improvements on the basis of the domestic and international data searching. The characteristic of the developed product is that the basic structure of the desk for public reading is easy to assemble & disassemble and also variable to be extended & modified. This basic structure is available to be mass production and to be pricewise through using aluminum. Furthermore it can be used as other library-furniture and office furniture, too. Also the luxury image was pursued by modern shape and different material, unlike the existing library-furniture.
