화강풍화토-벤토나이트 혼합토의 공학적 특성 (An Engineering Characteristics of Weathered Granite Soil-Bentonite Mixtures)

  • 최근 인구증가에 따라 쓰레기 매립장의 수요가 점점 늘어가는 실정이나 쓰레기 매립장의 건설은 점토의 부족과 차수층의 고비용으로 인하여 많은 문제점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 투수계수뿐만 아니라 전단강도도 확보되는 저렴한 차수재 개발을 위하여 우리나라에 널리 분포하고 있는 화강풍화토와 투수저감효과가 뛰어난 벤토나이트를 적절히 혼합하여 고가의 벤토나이트가 가장 적게 소요되는 최적의 중량비(B/S)를 산정하기 위하여 일련의 다짐시험과 삼축압축시험기를 이용한 압밀, 투수 및 전단시험을 실시하였다. 차수재의 기준인 $k=1{\times}10^{-7}cm/sec$ 이하를 만족시키기 위하여 모재인 화강풍화토를 네 가지의 입경으로 조절하여 시료성형을 하였으며 각 입경에 따라 B/S를 5%씩 증가시키면서 시험을 실시한 결과, No. 100체에 통과된 화강풍화토의 B/S=15%인 경우에서 차수재 기준을 만족하였다. 그리고, 투수시험결과 산정된 투수계수의 실측치와 Chapuis가 제안한 두 가지 투수계수 예측식을 비교분석하였으며, 본 논문에 사용된 화강풍화토-벤토나이트 혼합토에 적합한 투수계수 예측식을 제시하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 혼합토의 최적 중량비는 투수측면과 강도측면 모두에서 15%로 나타났다.

Permeability and mechanical properties of binary and ternary cementitious mixtures

  • Today, pozzolans are widely used in construction for various reasons such as technical and economic efficiency. In this research, in order to evaluate some of important properties of concrete, silica fume and fly ash have been used as a replacement for cement in different mass percentages. Concrete mixtures were made from a water-cement ratio of (0.45) and cured under similar conditions. The main focus of this study was to evaluate the permeability and mechanical properties of concrete made from binary and ternary cementitious mixtures of fly ash and silica fume. In this study permeability of concrete was studied by evaluating the sorptivity, water absorption, water penetration depth, electrical resistivity and rapid chloride permeability (RCP) tests. Mechanical properties of concrete were evaluated with compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity. Scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) was used to characterize the effects of silica fume and fly ash on the pore structure and morphology of concrete with cement based matrix. The results indicated that the incorporation of silica fume and fly ash increased the mechanical strength and improved the permeability of concrete.

Zn 첨가에 따른 Ba-$Co_2Z$ 페라이트의 마이크로파 특성 (Microwave Properties of Ba-$Co_2Z$ Ferrite with Zn addition)

  • In this study, microwave properties with compositions and frequency of the $Ba_3Co_2Fe_{24}O_{41}$ ceramics with Zn substitution for Co were investigated. From the XRD patterns, hexagonal structure of Z-type phase was existed as main phase. Diffraction peaks of Z-type phase were shifted to lower angle by Zn substituted for Co site. The permittivity was increased with Zn additions. In all composition, loss tangent of permittivities were increased with frequency. Permeability and magnetic resonance frequency were increased with Zn additions. Permeability was increased and loss tangent of permeability was decreased rapidly over 600 MHz~800 MHz. The loss tangent of permeability did not changed with composition ratio. In the case of $Ba_3Co_{1.6}Zn_{0.4}Fe_{24}O_{41}$ ceramics sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours, the permittivity, loss tangent of permittivity, permeability and loss tangent of permeability were 28.277, 0.193, 22.992 and 0.065 at 310 MHz, respectively.

Combined effect of fine aggregate and silica fume on properties of Portland cement pervious concrete

  • Portland cement pervious concrete has been expected to have good water permeability, mechanical properties and abrasion resistance at the same time when Portland cement pervious concrete is applied to the actual vehicle pavement. In this study, the coarse aggregate and cement were replaced by the fine aggregate and the silica fume to improve actual road performance Portland cement pervious concrete. The Mechanical properties, the water permeability and the abrasion resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete were investigated. The results show that the compressive strength, the flexural strength and the abrasion resistance are increased when the fine aggregate and the silica fume are added to Portland cement pervious concrete separately. However, the porosity and the water permeability are decreased simultaneously. With assistance of silica fume and fine aggregate simultaneously, Portland cement pervious concrete could achieve a higher strength. The compressive strength, the flexural strength and the abrasion resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete mixed with 5% fine aggregates and 8% silica fume are increased by 93.1%, 65% and 65.2%, respectively. The porosity and the water permeability are decreased by 22.4% and 85% when Portland cement pervious concrete is mixed with 5% fine aggregate and 8% silica fume. Therefore, the replacement ratio of the fine aggregates and the silica fume should be considered comprehensively and determined on the premise of ensuring the water permeability coefficient.

조립토 입도분포곡선의 프랙탈차원을 이용한 투수계수의 예측 (Estimation of Permeability Coefficient Using Fractal Dimension of Particle Size Distribution Curve in Granular Soils)

  • Since particle size distribution curves are useful to estimate permeability of soil, many formulae for permeability coefficient (k) have been published using the parameter from the curves and factors, such as grain size, particle shape and void ratio of soils. However, the parameters such as $C_c,\;C_u$ and $D_n$ derived from only some discrete points on the curve are insufficient to represent the whole gradation. In this paper fractal dimension which is quite new concept and known to be able to represent the entire curve of particle size distribution is employed for the parameters. An empirical formula of permeability coefficient has been developed with fractal dimension and percent of finer than 0.075 mm. The formula developed from this study has confirmed its effectiveness by a series of laboratory tests and comparison to other published formulae. It is found that permeability coefficient is proportional to fractal dimension and inversely proportional to percent of fines.

화강풍화토(花崗風化土)의 파쇄(破碎) 및 다짐에너지가 투수성(透水性)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Permeability Effect of Decomposed Granite Soil under the Influence of Crushability and Compaction Energy)

  • 다짐 에너지 변화(變化)에 따르는 화강풍화토의 입도변화(粒度變化) 및 파쇄량(破碎量)이 투수성(透水性)에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 토립자(土粒子)의 파쇄(破碎)는 토립자(土粒子)의 표면적비(表面積比)($S_w{^{\prime}}/S_w$)로서 나타냈고, 다짐에너지를 변화(變化)시키면서 실시한 다짐 시험결과(試驗結果) 만들어진 시료(試料)에 변수위투수시험을 행(行)하여 투수계수와 최적함수비(最適含水比)와의 관계를 조사(調査)하였다. 그 결과(結果) 다음과 같은 사항을 알 수 있었다. (1) 다짐에너지의 증대(增大)에 따라 파쇄(破碎)가 커지고 간극비(間隙比)가 감소되고 건조밀도는 영공극곡선(零空隙曲線)에 평행(平行)하게 증대(增大)된다. (2) 표면적비(表面積比)는 다짐회수에 관계없이 $S_w{^{\prime}}/S_w=0.33(P)^{0.96}$로 표시(表示)할 수 있다. (3) 입자파쇄(粒子破碎)가 가장 크게 일어나는 입경(粒徑)은 0.5~1 mm 범위이다. (4) 최적함수비(最適含水比) 상태에서 투수계수 K와 간극비함수(間隙比函數) $\frac{e^3}{1+3}$와의 관계는 양면대수지상(兩面對數紙上)에서 직선 관계가 성립(成立)한다. (5) 최적함수비(最適函數比) 상태에서 다짐에너지가 증가(增加)되면 200번(番)체 통과량(通過量)은 거의 직선적으로 증가(增加)되며 표면적비(表面積比)의 증대(增大)는 투수성(透水性)의 저하(低下)를 갖고온다.

순환토사의 벤토나이트-폴리머 혼합비에 따른 매립지 차수재 적용성에 관한 연구 (Applicability of Recycled Soil Mixed with Bentonite-Polymer for Waste Landfill Liner)

  • 이 연구에서는 경제적인 매립장 설계를 위해 점토차수재를 순환토사와 벤토나이트-폴리머 혼합 차수재로 활용하는 방안을 연구하였다. 순환토사는 모래가 90.58%이고 세립분이 1.88%이며 입도가 불량한 모래질 흙인 SP를 사용하였다. 순환토사는 벤토나이트를 4%, 6%, 8% 혼합하여 투수실험을 한 후 해성점토에 벤토나이트를 2%, 3%, 4% 혼합한 시료와 비교하였다. 점토는 3%에서 투수기준을 만족하였으며, 순환토사는 8%에서 투수기준을 만족하였다. 폐기물 매립장의 차수기준에 맞는 시료를 만들기 위해 벤토나이트 혼합비가 4%인 시료를 대상으로 폴리머를 0.16%, 0.24%, 0.28% 혼합하여 투수시험을 하였다. 동일한 혼합비로 일축압축시험을 하여 시방기준에 만족하는지 확인하였다. 벤토나이트 혼합비가 증가할수록 투수계수와 일축압축강도는 감소하였다. 폴리머 혼합시 강도는 초기에 증가한 후 일정한 값을 유지하였다. 폴리머 혼합시 벤토나이트 혼합비를 50% 이상 감소시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 폐기물매립장 바닥차수재로서 순환토사-벤토나이트-폴리머 혼합시료는 벤토나이트 혼합비 4%, 폴리머 혼합비 0.28%에서 투수계수는 1.0×10-7cm/sec 이하, 일축압축강도는 500kPa 이상을 만족하여 폐기물매립장의 혼합차수재로 활용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

연직배수공법의 스미어존이 압밀에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis an나bout Effects of Smear Zone in Vertical Drains on Consolidation)

  • In this paper, an numerical approach is performed to investigate the effects of smear zone, occurred by penetrating vertical drains, on consolidation behavior of soft clay deposits. Such a numerical analysis is applied to the field condition to confirm its applicability. Parametric numerical analyses is carried out to study influencing factors such as permeability in smear zone, boundary of smear zone and discharge capacity of vertical drains on the consolidation of soil. As results of analyses, for the given conditions of soil, degree of consolidation is getting faster with increase of permeability of vertical drain. Degree of consolidation is delayed with decrease of permeability of smear zone. As the ratio of drain width to smear zone increases, the degree of consolidation decreases. Proposed values of influencing factors by previous researchers is found to be reliable from results of numerical analyses with Cam-clay model.

모래-벤토나이트-생석회 혼합물의 강도 및 투수특성 (Strength and Permeability of Sand-Bentonite-Lime mixtures)

  • When mixed with lime, sand-bentonite mixture is characterized by considerable hydraulic properties similar to natural pozzolans and may therefore be increased in the strength of sand-bentonite mixture. The present study reports that results obtained in a series of laboratory tests carried out using particular mixing ratio of lime-sand-bentonite with the aim of investigating physical characteristics, permeability and strength. The results were compared and analyzed according to hydration time and lime content. Test results showed that increasing of strength and decreasing of permeability by proper lime content. Curing for longer periods increased unconfined compressive strength of mixture. Based on results of the falling head permeability test, mixtures of lime content 3%, 6% and 9% were satisfied in using as liner after 8-day curing periods.

투수성 폴리머 콘크리트의 성질에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Fundamental Study on the Properties of Permeable Polymer Concrete)

  • In this study, permeable polymer concretes using unsaturated polyester (UP) resin with binder contents of 6, 7 and 8%, filler-binder ratios of 0, 0.5, 1.0%, and various sand and aggregate contents are prepared, and tested for compressive and flexural strengths, length change and water permeability. The effects of the mix proportioning factors on the strength properties, length change and coefficient of permeability of the permeable polymer concrete are discussed. From the test results, increase in the compressive strength and decrease in the coefficient of permeability of permeable polymer concrete are clearly observed with increasing filler-binder ratio. The permeable polymer concretes having a compressive strength of 9.4~28.3MPa and a coefficient of permeability of 0.12~1.93 cm/s can be produced in the consideration of the mix proportioning factors.
