AAPM TG43 report has recommended to measure air kerma strength with the strength of source. Main purpose of this study is to verify the accuracy of air kerma strength provided by manufacturer. Materials for this study were MAX-4001 Electrometer, HDR 1000 Plus of the corporation of standard imaging, and 6 french bronchial Applicator with 1000 mm. we measured ionization current in 10-90 mm range from the bottom of the central axis of chamber. The reference point of calibration displayed by the maximum ionization current in the ionization current curve was measured, and air kerma strength was computed from the maximum ionization current. we acquired 50 mm distance to correspond with the maximum ionization current in the ionization current curve. Its distance has perfectly fitted to the source reference point of calibration certificate of UW-ADCL. Air kerma strength computed value has measured about 0.5% more than calibration value provided by manufacturer. Air kerma strength of calibration certificate provided by manufacturer has acquired reliable results. This study shows that considering the move error of dwell position of source and the dead space length in well-type chamber is a good way to get an accurate result.
Recently studies on application development and utilization using sensors and devices embedded in smartphones have flourished at home and abroad. This study aimed to analyze the accuracy of the images of smartphone to determine three-dimension position of close objects prior to the development of photogrammetric system applying smartphone and evaluate the feasibility to use. First of all, camera calibration was conducted on autofocus and infinite focus. Regarding camera calibration distortion model with balance system and unbalance system was used for the decision of lens distortion coefficient, the results of calibration on 16 types of projects showed that all cases were in RMS error by less than 1 mm from bundle adjustment. Also in terms of autofocus and infinite focus on S and S2 model, the pattern of distorted curve was almost the same, so it could be judged that change in distortion pattern according to focus mode is very little. The result comparison according to autofocus and infinite focus and the result comparison according to a software used for multi-image processing showed that all cases were in standard deviation less than ${\pm}3$ mm. It is judged that there is little result difference between focus mode and determination of three-dimension position by distortion model. Lastly the checkpoint performance by total station was fixed as most probable value and the checkpoint performance determined by each project was fixed as observed value to calculate statistics on residual of individual methods. The result showed that all projects had relatively large errors in the direction of Y, the direction of object distance compared to the direction of X and Z. Like above, in terms of accuracy for determination of three-dimension position for a close object, the feasibility to use smartphone camera would be enough.

This study evaluated the feasibility of using a portable near infrared reflectance spectrometer working in the 900~1,600 nm range for the measurement of quality-related parameters (moisture, pH, Acid detergent fiber (ADF), Neutral detergent fiber (NDF), Crude protein (CP), lactic acid) in intact silage. The calibration result for the Phazir (handheld, Polychromix) was compared with the result for the Spectrastar (Lab. based, Unity). A total of 67 Italian ryegrass silages were used to build calibration models using different spectral signal pre-treatments and the partial least squares regression (PLS) method. The good calibration statistics in two instruments was obtained for moisture content of Italian ryegrass silages with over $R^2$ = 0.95. The Phazir spectrometer was less accurate in measuring of ADF, NDF and CP contents. The Spectrastar instrument yielded greater precision for pH and lactic acid content; statistic values were over $R^2$ = 0.82 and the standard error of calibration (SEC) = 0.21% and 0.24%. Thus, the NIR measurement of forage quality in the field by portable NIR analyzers was shown not to be feasible, but additional investigations are required to discern the key instrumental and operational parameters that may influence the portable NIR measurement.

In this paper, a smart sensor system for the MEMS pressure sensor was developed. A compensation algorithm and programmable calibration circuits were presented to eliminate errors caused by temperature drift of piezoresistive pressure sensors in itself. This system consisted of signal conditioning, calibration, temperature detection, microprocessor, and communication parts and these were integrated into a SOC. A RS-232 interface was employed for monitoring and control of a smart sensor system. The area of fabricated IC is $4.38{\times}3.78\;mm^2$ and a $0.35{\mu}m$ high voltage CMOS process was used. Compensation error for temperature drift of 50 KPa pressure sensors was measured into ${\pm}0.48%$ in the range of $-40^{\circ}C{\sim}150^{\circ}C$. Total power consumption was 30.5 mW.
Research on the rapid and accurate prediction of physical properties of wood using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy has attracted recent attention. In this study, partial least squares analysis was performed between NIR spectra and air-dried specific gravity of five domestic conifer species including larch (Larix kaempferi), Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis), red pine (Pinus densiflora), cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), and cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa). Fifty different lumbers per species were purchased from the five National Forestry Cooperative Federations of Korea. The air-dried specific gravity of 100 knot- and defect-free specimens of each species was determined by NIR spectroscopy in the range of 680-2500 nm. Spectral data preprocessing including standard normal variate, detrend and forward first derivative (gap size = 8, smoothing = 8) were applied to all the NIR spectra of the specimens. Partial least squares analysis including cross-validation (five groups) was performed with the air-dried specific gravity and NIR spectra. When the performance of the regression model was expressed as $R^2$ (coefficient of determination) and root mean square error of calibration (RMSEC), $R^2$ and RMSEC were 0.63 and 0.027 for larch, 0.68 and 0.033 for Korean pine, 0.62 and 0.033 for red pine, 0.76 and 0.022 for cedar, and 0.79 and 0.027 for cypress, respectively. For the calibration model, which contained all species in this study, the $R^2$ was 0.75 and the RMSEC was 0.37.

An injection-locked ring phase-locked loop (ILRPLL) using a charge-stored complementary switch (CSCS) injection technique is described in this paper. The ILRPLL exhibits a wider lock range compared to other conventional ILRPLLs, owing to the improvement of the injection effect by the proposed CSCS. A frequency calibration loop and a device mismatch calibration loop force the frequency error to be zero to minimize jitter and reference spur. The prototype chip fabricated in 65-nm CMOS technology achieves a $285-fs_{rms}$ integrated jitter at GHz from the reference clock of 52 MHz while consuming 7.16 mW. The figure-of-merit of the ILRPLL is -242.4 dB.

Near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) has become increasingly used as a rapid, accurate method of evaluating some chemical constituents in cereal grains and forages. If samples could be analyzed without drying and grinding, then sample preparation time and costs may be reduced. This study was conducted to develop robust NIRS equations to predict fermentation quality of corn (Zea mays) silage and to select acceptable sample preparation methods for prediction of fermentation products in corn silage by NIRS. Prior to analysis, samples (n = 112) were either oven-dried and ground (OD), frozen in liquid nitrogen and ground (LN) and intact fresh (IF). Samples were scanned from 400 to 2,500 nm with an NIRS 6,500 monochromator. The samples were divided into calibration and validation sets. The spectral data were regressed on a range of dry matter (DM), pH and short chain organic acids using modified multivariate partial least squares (MPLS) analysis that used first and second order derivatives. All chemical analyses were conducted with fresh samples. From these treatments, calibration equations were developed successfully for concentrations of all constituents except butyric acid. Prediction accuracy, represented by standard error of prediction (SEP) and $R^2_{v}$ (variance accounted for in validation set), was slightly better with the LN treatment ($R^2$ 0.75-0.90) than for OD ($R^2$ 0.43-0.81) or IF ($R^2$ 0.62-0.79) treatments. Fermentation characteristics could be successfully predicted by NIRS analysis either with dry or fresh silage. Although statistical results for the OD and IF treatments were the lower than those of LN treatment, intact fresh (IF) treatment may be acceptable when processing is costly or when possible component alterations are expected.

This paper describes a rapid determination of phenobarbital in intact phenobarbital tablets using partial least squares regression(PLSR) method of transmittance spectrum of near infrared (NIR) compared with the analytical data of liquid chromatograpy. The linearity, concentration range and precision of this analytical method are studied. The correlation coefficient of the calibration curve is 0.9983 and the standard error of calibration(SEC) is 0.14 %. Intra-day precision and Inter-day precision obtained in this method are CV = 0.45, CV =0.56, respectively.
-ray fluorescence analysis of $Ta_2O_5$, $Nb_2O_5$ and $ZrO_2$ in tin-slag samples using the simple dilution method was studied. The method is to correct mathematically the calibration curve to the linear line by the dilution. One synthesized standard having similar composition to the sample and tin slag samples were diluted with anhydrous $Li_2B_4O_7$ at the level of 1%, 2% and 3% of the sample content respectively. The diluted samples were fused at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes and these glass beads were finely ground and pelletized. Measuring the X-ray intensities with these pellets, analytical results were calculated by the equation derived from J. Scherman's equation for the characteristic X-ray intensity of an element. Analytical results agreed with the reference values obtained by the standard calibration method within allowable error range and were reproducible.
This paper deals with the capacitive voltage divider which can measure a transient voltages generated by operating a high voltage impulse generator. The transient voltage measuring system using the capacitive electric field sensor consists of the planar-type electric field sensor having a fast response characteristic and the wide-bandwidth voltage follower, and the input impedance of which is extremely high, about $10^{12}{\Omega}$. In order to analyze the response characteristics to a step input, the newly developed calibration method is proposed, and the error of voltage dividing ratio associated with set-up condition is investigated. Also the optimal set-up condition that is to be maintained within the range of 0.5 % is taken. From the calibration experiment, the frequency bandwidth of the transient voltage measuring system whose response time to a step input is about 15.8 ns, is from 6.37 Hz to 27.3 MHz. Therefore it is possible to measure the commercial frequency voltages as well as the transient over voltages without signal distortions.
